I MAINTAINED my 100 per cent record on the Super Singles for July thanks to Cork hitman Sean Maguire.

I tipped the Preston-bound star to score first against St Patrick's and he hit the game's only goal.

That's five winners out of five since returning from holiday and 14 out of 17 in June and July. That's not an easy record to maintain but hopefully the run will continue for as long as possible.

My Scandinavian double was an Ostersund goal short but never looked like coming in as they only equalised in the 90th minutes. There were though plenty of goals at Stromsgodset.

Overnight there were two more matches from the Gold Cup but while Mexico covered the -1 handicap against El Salvador my double was beaten by Curacao losing to Jamaica.

Again there's not much to look at on Monday but I'm adding a Swedish double. Take Gothenburg, unbeaten at home but having drawing four of five in front of their own fans, against a Halmstad with two points from six away outings and no wins since the opening day.

Add Djurgardens at home to Sundsvall. The visitors have lost four in a row, conceding 12 goals, and while Djurgardens aren't in the greatest of form they remain within touching distance of third spot and hammered basement boys AFC 4-1 in their last home game.

My women's tennis bet was put up yesterday and having looked closer at the last-16 ties I've gone for a Super Single that's a double on Roberto Bautista-Agut to win at least a set against Marin Cilic and Alexander Zverev to do likewise against Milos Raonic.

Both are underdogs but in his preview Sean Calvert makes a good case for both to win and I like their chances of avoiding the whitewash.

3pts Super Single

Bautista-Agut to win a set (1pm)

Zverev to win a set (2.30pm)

2pts Daily Double

Wow, an away win in Nigeria today.
Wonder when the referee will have his funeral ?.

There have been 276 games in that league and that was the 11th away win.
11 dead refs, they must be running out if the story about them being scared of letting away teams is correct.

Was there a delayed kickoff in the Mexico game?? I was sure they were playing at or around 12.30am.

Anyway having Gremio on my radar playing a 3rd rate Avai, I decided that game and Mexico would be where I continued my hunt for goals.

The pre-match prices of 1/20 and 1/25 respectively for overs 0.5 was way below where I’m happy. I watched the in-play Gremio match and saw the home side dominate. I was actually leaning towards Avai no clean sheet, but the odds were only marginally better that the overs price. I bit my lip for 15 mins or so and the price was up and down between 1/12 and 1/10. Finally after an ” all betting action locked out “, 1/9 came up. I grabbed it and took the 1/25 in the later mixico game.
I took my meds and followed the action as long as I could.
The Gremio side had it at 0-0 and I thought here we go, the bank buster is upon me.
Gremio get a penalty – I breath a sigh of relief – then swear a lot because they missed it. Avai racked up 3 early cards and one of their forwards was sent off. Great.
then after a few more cards, Avai open the scoring on 74 minutes.
To be honest, I switched off coverage after the 59th minute penalty miss, but my goal alert thingy sprung to life twice. 74 and 85 mins. Both Avai – then they get a player sent off for a 2nd yellow. Just like Forteleza and Guangzou the day before, the bets land because of the underdog but my get out of jail free card was sticking to the overs market and not switching to the speculative No clean sheet.

Dunno what happened in Mexico re: kickoff, maybe it was my pills kicking in, but I logged on to see a 3-1 win for Mexico and an enhanced bank balance.

Yesterday I started on £1023.93, today before withdrawals, I’m up to £1386.35

The Gremio match put the wind up me a bit, so I shall chill out for a few hours and clear my head.

@hullshaker if you can figure out how to send me a message via the members section – private of course, I can get that treat off to you.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

sorry, heads not working properly, Avai got 3 early yellows, one of their players was subbed. The player that got the first yellow, he was the guy who picked up the 2nd yellow around 87 mins.

    • jerryt 7 years ago

£1400 from £10 is quite impressive Nathan ! When did you start this challenge ? Good luck mate

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

      @jerryt

      so day 1: £10 – £35.23
      day 2: to £127.20
      day 3: to £383.89
      day 4: to £578.38
      day 5: to £1023.93
      day 6: to £1386.84

I kinda started to progressively get more ruthless with my culling of games, so somewhere around the end of day 3 I put the brakes on a bit harder, looked longer at potential red flags and picked less bets. A couple of times up to around £500 or so I went with the No clean sheet option but as I’d edged closer towards £1000, I think I only took one more No Clean sheet and that was against Cork. Last night I dodged another bullet when I almost took Avai against Gremio to not keep a clean sheet. Gremio missed a penalty and Avai grabbed 2 goals in the last 15 mins to save the bet.
Now I’m in big money territory, I’m probably wise to target just a couple of singles strictly on the overs 0.5 market and definitely in-play for better prices and if I can bank a £50 from the 2 bets and still increase my pot, then its teaching me about restraint and turning off the inbuilt overreach problem that some of us have experienced. That is why casino’s and bookies pay out a big winner one day, but the next day, they’ll take it back from you. Its because people think they can repeat their success again and again. The further you walk into a mine field, the more chance you have of hitting a mine. My approach is to take 1 or 2 steps, bank some and step back off. Onto tomorrow.

    • jerryt 7 years ago

Thank you for breaking that down for me , I thought you generally do challenges with odds of around 1/8 or there about , I am currently on £100 on my own challenge but I tend to stick to odds of 2/5 or above. I’ll be keeping an eye on your challenge in the future. I like the idea of banking some along the way , I’ll have a read on your challenge thread now to educate myself more . Cheers Nathan

This is a repost from yesterday, mainly for the benefit of @david h and @micky-Belfast but there are one or two others who have only just discovered how I’m betting and why.
I will take private messages from members, if I /you can figure out how to send them via this site and i’ll answer you as quickly as I can. To get the best out of this challenge, you need as much info as possible, well that info is in the forums under ” bets and challenges “, I think its the first main thread created in there and there are several parts – all numbered, when you’re scrolling through the parts, you could even use the failed bets tips that are posted within the threads ( they’re date stamped ) to draw up your own preliminary C*nt list.

I looked at that game because America De Cali almost never let me down but Rionegra joined my C*nt list a few months back after a match with Leones – my notes tell me it was a Colombia cup match and it rained. South American footy players get goal shy when it rains. As I pointed out to Mickey Belfast yesterday in my short summary, any excuse to thin out the shortlist and weed out the potential 0-0’s and I delete the match.

I forgot to mention, if you’ve not the luxury of access to the forums, where all my tips on thinning out the shortlist are, then you’re missing out on lots of juicy info to help you with the challenge.

If like me, you have your bet slip open, you’re logged in to your acct, you have the price up, you’ve entered your stakes, you’re just waiting for that 10-12, maybe 12-15 mins of nothing in the match to capitalise on the price rise – and then a goal comes. Don’t beat yourself up about a missed chance, and DO NOT DARE adjust your bet to now go for the overs 1.5 tmg’s. Your research factored in looking for at least a goal, your research HASN’T taken in to account that you’re planning for that 2nd goal. Scrub it from your list, the match is meaningless to you now, the goal has already happened. Push it to the side, grab a coffee, get your A4 notebook out and restart the research on your 2nd pick, maybe its an hour or 2 before kickoff. Search and search for anything from anywhere, there’s loads of stat sites to trawl through.
You’ll discover your go-to teams, you’ll create your C*nt list, your favourite leagues, the leagues and types of matches/competitions/playoffs to avoid and your knowledge is going to increase.
There’s people on here like Gregg who seems to know the inside leg measurements of all those lower end and development leagues in Scotland – its funny, a bit like Rainman, but he knows his onions, Jordan likewise never ever goes win/draw/win on anything – why, because he hits more winners for the site that way, some guys love the Scandinavian leagues, find out who they are and ask them. There’s shed loads of other members worthy of a mention, they all have info, find out who they are and use the info.

You must remember though, that anything can happen in a game of football, and anything can affect anything – which can affect a result ( even whether the ref got his leg over the night before or slept on the couch ). The most common result in football is a 1 nil.

I’ve had a brew, daily meds ” hangover ” has gone and eyes have regained focus so my brain has started to work.
Mr F’s summary at the top of the page is spot on, todays games are very thin on the ground, there is almost nothing that has peeked my interest. Apart from 2.

Sarpsborg and Lillestrom ( didn’t they play each other recently ? ) and also IFK Goteborg. I think the rest of the matches are likely to not really be worth paying much attention to if I’m to find matches with at least a goal in. My stats checks might uncover some red flags, I don’t know yet, but I have until 6pm to find them.

For you guys that stick to your own markets/strategies, my ideology on matches is one dimensional for my own benefit. It may be that my info is of no use to you because my strategy is different to yours.
Maybe I’ve overlooked something that you are looking at but to follow your lead on certain events/predictions would force me to step off my own script. I have to stay on my own path, but please don’t let this stop you from sharing your own tips on other stuff.

If you think todays card is bad, you should look at tomorrows. Its looking like a no bet day tomorrow.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

Keep them separate, if you mix the two, you’ll cock it up. if you want to speculate on a £10 acca that doesn’t land, it doesn’t harm you. Sometimes, if there is no action and I get the bug to bet, rather than go all in, i’ll drop £5 on say a corners bet to kill 30-40 mins.

  16. leroy 7 years ago

Hi all – it has been a while!

It’s been a bit busy and been easy to give to the tougher summer cards a swerve for a while. Still, I’ve been keeping an eye on the cards when I can and noticed that Akranes are back in action tonight after serving me well earlier in the season.

Despite being rock bottom (and consistently priced accordingly), they rarely fail in front of goal. They have scored at least 2 in all 5 home games in the league so far, despite losing 4 of those. They have also notched 7 on the road in 4, including 2 at Stjarnan in their last league game. They have failed to score just once this season in the league and cup, and their pre-season cup games saw plenty of goals, too.

Vikingur visit tonight in good form. They have scored 13 in their last 5 on the road, avoiding defeat in each despite also conceding in all of those. Their league games have consistently averaged about 3 goals home and away so far, with only two games in league and cup failing to see both sides scoring.

Statistically, this one points to goals so I’m willing to get stuck into it. Akranes are available at good value again so I’m gonna have a smaller stake on them continuing to score a couple despite Vikingur’s form.

A poor card best left alone bar the odd game.

  18. HullShaker 7 years ago

    Afternoon gents,

It’s a slim card alright but there’s certainly value to be had if you look under the right stones…

    KÓNGARNIR VS. SKALLAGRÍMUR (2100 KO):

It wouldn’t ever be fair to class a group of players as donkeys but in ‘Kong’s’ case it would be quite accurate – two weeks ago I ran some stats off about their current ‘streak’ and I’m pleased to report that further defeats of 5-1, 14-0 and 9-1 go some way towards cementing them as officially one of the poorest form teams on the planet.

They have now won just 1 game in 47 and have had their pants pulled down more than Craneguy during his lost Sunday at the Blue Oyster.

    Kongarnir’s most recent match goal totals in games are as follows and I’ve put the goals against in brackets: 6 (5), 14 (14), 9 (9), 6 (3), 8 (8), 6 (5), 6 (6), 4 (3), 5 (4), 6 (6), 7 (7) – gives some indicator of form!

Skallagrimur haven’t been tearing up any trees this season but they may be hitting form as they head into this one 4 unbeaten after 3 straight wins and a draw – match goals within their own recent games are as follows: 2, 5, 4, 8, 3, 5, 6 snd although that doesn’t scream a goals fest, it’s all about Kongs utter lack of defensive capacity.

One selction and I like it a lot:

    GOAL LINE 6.0, 6.5…1.950
    ????

    Best of luck.

    Goal Times Update

Pre match goal times currently stands at
    12 Games
    8 Won
    4 Lost

Maybe more interesting is the prices of that team to win.
    Henan won 3-2 priced 9/2
    Changchun won 4-2 priced 12/5
    Avai won 2-0 priced 11/1
    America de Cali 13/8

It might be worth keeping an aye on this. Personally I also backed Galway and Olafsvik goal time on Friday. Their prices to win outright were 7/5 and 11/1. Please note, I have NOT been backing any of these teams to win . Only their goal times.

On to tonight I have 2 bets in Sweden then I am waiting for the goal time in Iceland for later.

    Djurgarden vs Sundsvall

Sundsvall have lost their last 4 league games conceding an average of 3 goals per game. They have played 2 friendlies and managed to score 7 goals. They got back to scoring ways in the league against Sirius last time out and I fancy them to score tonight.

Djurgarden conceded in last 6 games

    Sundsvall goal before 79:00 Evens

    Goteborg vs Halmstad

Short and sweet. Halmstad need points and Goteborg have underperformed so far this season. They have scored In 5 of last 6.

NATHAN was gna start my inplay challenge but had 2nd thoughts in GOTEBURG odds reached 1/3 over 0.5 goals ?

  36. HullShaker 7 years ago

Just in from work and see some great winners on the site already!

Goal line notched up from 6.0, 6.5 to 6.5, 7.0 now in the Kongarnir game with a reduced price of 1.800 from 1.950 earlier – let’s hope for plenty of action and have those bookies on the run.

    Good luck ?

    ’36th minute…7th goal. Game. Set. Match. ?

    ????

    ***WON***

Night Owl and one that may be worth a little look later on this evening – very limited markets so will post closer to KO if the GL looks viable…

SOUTH FLORIDA SURF VS. FC MIAMI CITY (2300 KO):

It appears that South Florida Surf have been shunning the clear white breakers in favour of paddling around near an effluence outfall – rock-bottom and with just one win in 12, it doesn’t bode well against tonight’s opponents.

Miami City sit a solid second and will be looking to make it 13 games with just 1 defeat – they have scored 41 team goals in that 13 game spell alone and with the last 4 H2H’s (all within the last 18 months) seeing 4-5-3-3 match goals, it looks cued up for more.

I’m second-guessing the bookies but I’d put the GL at 4.0,4.5 and the price somewhere around 1.800…anything at or above looks good ?

    One for the notebook…

KORMÁKUR / HVÖT VS. KÓNGARNIR (14.7.17)

Friday sees the Mighty Kong back in action – oponents Hvot very similar standings/form to Skallagrimur so expect plenty of action again – the last H2H saw Hvot win 1-5 away from home just two months ago ?

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

      Oooh ? Tempting

  51. alex_mufc83 7 years ago

To be fair Kong have got a cracking strike rate, 2 goals out of 4 shots that’s 50% right there

    need some advice guys,

have an acca going, only waiting on two games for 900. the two games are the us open cup, can’t find a lot of previews?

had 2 swedish games btts (won)
    vikingur game btts

waiting on san jose and btts (fancy them as galaxy have not been that amazing recently)

and kansas city win and btts

cash out is 36, should i just cut my losses or do you guys think these have a chance?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

The one preview I’ve read tips btts and overs at San Jose so that might give you confidence.
Only you can decide when it comes to cashout but personally I’d never take 36 when I was still on course 900.
I’d be gutted if took the money and it came in.

    • aarron19888 7 years ago

yeah exactly, gonna leave it going! fingers crossed it comes in! i’ll be fast asleep as I am working first thing, thanks for the response @mrfixit

dash it both bets LOST no 3rd in IAA game

    WD all with winners……………..

  54. david h 7 years ago

Looking at tomorrows card its looking slim. I have picked out two games early Wednesday and have took the goal lines now.

    Vila Nova vs Parana

I was on Vila Nova at the weekend and they obliged and there is no reason to not go again.

Scored before HT in last 3 games at home against similar or harder opposition.
Parana conceded before HT in 2 from 3 last away games

Vila Nova to score before 53:00 5/6

    Sporting Kansas vs Dallas

Cup action here and I fancy Sporting Kansas to start fast and use home advantage.
Kansas 1 loss in 20 at home
Dallas 3 wins in 20 away.

Sporting Kansas to score before 45:00 5/6

There has been some nice winners tonight, Good luck for tomorrow
