IT was a perfect day for me with four football winners including three Super Singles – and my tennis treble was also a winner.
Canada beat French Guyana and Costa Rica saw off Honduras in the Gold Cup Group A openers to bring up the first one.
After that it was all about full-strength Celtic who routed a weakened Shamrock Rovers 9-0 in their Dublin friendly.
I tipped Celtic -1 at evens and -2 at 12-5 and would have been even more ambitious if I'd known the line-ups although Rovers were expected to rest players either side of Europa League ties.
My Top Treble was Celtic, Hearts not to lose and Dundee and it came at 9-5 thanks to a late fightback by Dee at Arbroath.
My tennis treble on Novak Djokovic, Milos Raonic and Roger Federer was at an enhanced 5-2 and all three won in straight sets. I said the price was too good and it seems that was the case. Looks like they meant all to win 3-0 – luckily they did so I'll be paid out.
On Sunday there are some Scandinavian games to look at plus a couple from the League of Ireland as well as the Group C Gold Cup openers featuring Curacao v Jamaica and Mexico v El Salvador. The Mexicans are the pre-tournament favourites and despite being without their top stars should win by at least two.
Cork are a short price to beat St Patrick's and while they could have been weakened ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash boss John Caulfield says the league's the priority and has named a strong side with three or four changes made.
Crucially star man Sean Maguire, who will join Preston at the end of the month, is included. Maguire has netted 24 goals in 26 games and hit a second-half hat-trick in the Europa League win against Levadia on Thursday. He is just 8-11 to net so risk him to score first at 11-4 with boylesports.
I've decided to risk a 2pt double on Ostersunds, unbeaten at home in Sweden as they tackle a Jonkopings side with three defeats in four, and both to score at Stromsgodset v Kristiansund. Both sides have seen both score in five of their last six matches.

Great stuff today Mr F – some healthy looking figures and hope the month continues in the same vein for you!
With the initial Corinthians Night Owl game just set to kick off, I’m looking at another Brasilian for a second pick…
MOTO CLUB MA VS. FORTALEZA (0000 KO):
Moto are in poor form and take on a more solid Fortaleza outfit who sit 2nd top to their own 2nd bottom standing but I reckon they’ll contribute here.
The last 2 H2H’s were both in February with 1-1 and 3-2 outcomes – Moto have scored in 70% of their last 10 whereas Fortaleza have scored in 9 of their last 14.
Two selections to consider here:
BTTS…5/6
???
BTTS 1ST HALF…21/5
?
Cheers, holiday’s done me the world of good. Will need another one soon.
Good luck tonight.
Cheers – just watching the boxing… young lad Jason Easton looks a cracking fighter…Edinburgh based I think.
Good work on the corinthians hull
Cheers…shame Fortaleza couldn’t grab a goal.
I’ve heard moto’s centre forward has a good engine.
Yes, it’s always a good indicator.
Good spot there @hullshaker . Might risk it for a biscuit ( goal ).
What are your thoughts on the Colombian Primera Game @ 2am. – Deportivo Cali ? Anything in that match that would sway me away from looking for a goal in that game?
Certainly a goal in it Nathan – don’t think it’ll be the goals-glut that it might look on the surface though.
Good luck.
€50 Dayton Dutch Lions FC Women game over 1.5 fhg returns €86.36
’47 minutes…2-0 and Jo grabs the 2nd ?
Early post for the Night Owl and I’ll be jetting off to Brasil for a bit of Serie A action later on this evening…
CORINTHIANS VS. PONTE PRETA (2300 KO):
Ponte Preta are languishing in mid-table obscurity and won’t be relishing a trip to clear table-toppers Corinthians on the back of 4 goaless outings on tgeir most recent travels.
For their part, Corinthians have stood out as by far the strongest team so far and with only one defeat in 25 (even that was on penalties!) – it could be a tough gig for the visitors.
The Sao Paulo based Corinthians outfit have proved solid as hell at the back and have Jo and Marquinho firing on all cylinders upfront – in a game that should play into the home sides favour there are two selections that may be worth considering:
CORINTHIANS OVER 1.5 TGS…10/11
????
***WON***
JO ATGS…6/4
??
***WON***

Time and time again you hit a full house mate. Well done
Well in hull lad great tipping once again.

Winner just after ht ?
Oeste vs Vila Nova
Both teams are fairly equal and a low scoring game could be on the cards. Away teams have done better on the handicaps so I will take Vila Nova to score before the line.
Vila Nova to score before 72:00 5/6
Been some good winners. Well done @mr-fixit @hullshaker @nathanufton @dc-john-boy and many more.
That’s a great shout David…well done pal.
Posted this yesterday and the goal time is on the drift and it’s currently at 71:00. I feel this league can be very unpredictable and will have having a few more shillings on.
Changchun Yatai vs Shanghai SIPG
A lot of people will be on the Superstars of SIPG and why not, a victory here will see them back at the top of the league.
Changchun scored in last 5 games
SIPG conceded in 4 out last 5 games.
Changchun Yatai to score before 67:00 5/6
You have done well also, hopefully we will both be celebrating as I’ve gone for Shanghai SIPG over 1.5tgls 5/6,have also a few beer tokens on Marseille ht/ft 6/5 later on in the evening in their match
Good luck
@david h I read your post a couple of times and looked in to that game whilst my pills were kicking in ( shanghai sipg ) managed by Andeas Villa Boa, took over from Sven.
Their front 3 are all Brazillian including Hulk….. Obviously playing football there because they like the Chinese food !!! Absolutely nothing to do with $500k a week on the table.
I often like to drop some of my pot at least onto ( a banker – famous last words ). Usual rules, overs 0.5, I’d seen your write-up, made my own checks, and thought Shanghai will put them to the sword.
Well after just 4.5 hrs of sleep – pills usually knock me out for 10-12 hrs, I checked on my bet365 acct. £1023.92 on a goal in the shanghai game @ 1/20 ( I usually bet in-play but had to take the crappy price ). Couldn’t believe it. Quadruple WTF !! Shanghai getting hammered 4-1. Like I really care about the scoreline, the goal came from the underdogs, in fact I think the first 3 came from them. So David, appreciate you putting that one on my radar. I woke up to an extra £52.
£1075.13
Incidentally, here was me panicking about whether there might be a goal in the Colombian game last night. It ended 4-2 to the hosts.
Very late last night, whilst looking around the various pre-match check/stat sites on the premier league of Ireland matches for usual 19-00 -20-00 kickoffs. Threw a spanner in the works, 1 kicks off I believe @ 14-00 and one half hour later.
Had a gander at European fixtures etc on the horizon and I’ve opted for this tiny double.
Cork to score 1/20 and overs 0.5 in Derry @ 1/20. Its only 8%, but I’ve no urgency whatsoever to even check the rest of the fixture list to do some ” anticipated ” stat checking on what I might bet on later. It’s ones and two’s at most from now on.
My strategy is definitely bet 1 – bank, bet 2 – build. If I can get 1 or 2 in a day, I’m doing well.
Will keep you all posted on my progress.
@hullshaker I owe you a beer. The beauty of my strategy is that even if the crap side gets a goal, its a goal. Pre-match price of 1/16…. Rode it for a 1/8.
£866.40

I hope I’m wrong but I’m not confident. Sometimes they can be a bit hit and miss in South America. You make some great gains then in a rush to bulldoze your way through to 1k, it goes tits up.
I make the exact same mistake trying to bulldoze my way to £100 from £10. Its not until I get to £100 that I take the foot off the gas and look for a safer option, sure it takes longer, but my ideology is that any gain is a gain and that’s better than a loss.
I’ve noticed this in South American matches, South American footy players don’t like playing in the rain and it hampers the goals line.
You have the weather on your side in this match and I really hope it delivers for you. The in-play stats suggest the away side are dictating play.
I’ll be going all in for an in play goal in Colombia – Deportiva Cali. That is if its still scoreless after 2 or 3 price rises in the first 10 mins. If a goal comes in that time, i’ll bail out and wait for tomorrow.
Hope this helps.
well done. away side just netted.
remember the brakes.
Enjoy watching out as u make ur way to a 1000 Kelly.. wish I cud hold my nerve like u on the bets u do
€416.16 Academia Deportiva Cantolao no clean sheet returns €624.24
I ummed and arred on whether to go for the overs 0.5 match goals or deportivo cali to score for a cheeky price rise. Watched the in-play stats and saw Deportivo dominate from early on. Saw the overs price rise from 1/14 to 1/8 but opted for the away team to concede and Deportivo duly obliged by getting the opener. the 2/11 took me up to £1023.
Thanks to everyone who helped me limp over the line. I shall be doing nothing now until a couple of games in either Northern Ireland or Ireland, I forget. I have a good nights sleep before I look deeper in to it. Not sure on my strategy from tomorrow. I might bank 1 , bet 1. Might withdraw a few hundred. Not sure yet.
Fantastic Nathan. Well done

Repost from yesterday
Kalmar vs AIK
Kalmar have hit a bit of a brick wall at home in the last 5 games, having not scored in 3 of them. They are in a bit of a relegation scrap already and face an AIK side who strolled to a 5-0 Europa League game against Faroe Islands minnows. More of a hunch then a stats based bet.

Hi Kelly, don’t really know this league but presumably stats back your bet up? Thinking about jumping on with you! Can you advise if all games are on 365 please? Thanks
yes but get on them before kick off as they all dont be live in play sometimes for some reason.
also stats dont really come into it in the nigerian league as the officials usually let the home teams win in fear they wont make it out of the grounds without being attacked from fans.
Ha really! Okay thanks Kelly, will take a look now!

I was doing some research and I’ve found something interesting: https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/oct/29/nigeria-toughest-league-win-away
The article is from 2013, but it seems nothing changed in the meantime (just check the home/away standings for this season).
I’m going to try today to go for home wins for all games (except Remo).

Just a bit of ongoing info for those with an interest in the Tour De France.
Adam Yates who I tipped for an each way top 3 finish ( 1/5th odds of 125/1 ) or 125/1 for the win ( not a chance ) – he’s not in the race, shame, he finished I think 5th overall last year and was the best young rider. His twin brother Simon is currently in 5th and doing well.
Froome has sat on the Maillot jaune ( yellow jersey ) since stage 4, 12 seconds ahead of Geraint Thomas – fellow team sky rider ( essentially his wingman ).
Peter Sagan is disqualified, Alberto Contador sits out for a doping ban and Nairo Quintado is in 9th 54 seconds behind Froome. There has been little change this past 5 days in the general classification. Yes, as predicted, the also rans are mopping up the sprint points, but they won’t have the legs for a serious surge towards the leaders.
Team sky expect to lose the yellow jersey over the next couple of stages – they don’t seem bothered. There’s a lot of climbs and descents and 2 time trials to come. Aka : Hunting ground for Chris Froome. Team sky expect to get the yellow jersey back after the next few days if they lose it.
Early doors, I’d say the biggest threats to Froome are still Fabio Aru and Ritchie Porte.
People who don’t understand how the race ” works ” might panic if a breakaway occurs and they finish a few minutes ahead of the main field. These glory seekers are essentially going for media exposure, maybe even vying for a new contract, but generally, the guys that go guns blazing for a stage win are either that far behind the top 10 guys that their overall time makes no difference , or they’ll grab a few stage wins early on in the race and then end up so far down the field it doesn’t matter.
Todays stage before we take a days rest has one hell of a climb in the final 5th of the race, the climb will thin out the field like a dose of the green apple splatters ( Southpark ). The descent is tricky, there could be some crashes. The descent is way more challenging if it turns wet too. Froome needs to stay out of danger, if there’s a breakaway involving anyone in the top 10, then team sky have to cover it by chasing it down.
Quintado looks like he’s hanging on by a thread and I just know he’s not going to be looking forward to the two time trials, he’ll lose ground to Froome.
The whole race has not really started to unravel yet, maybe we need one of the time trials and another 5 or 6 stages to get a clearer picture on who will take the glory.
I’m still confident Froome will get his 4th title from the last 5 years. Remember, Bradley Wiggins only won because Froome obeyed racing orders – he held back that much that come the podium, team sky had already decided Froome would spearhead the team in future.
His record reads..
2012 – 2nd to Wiggins
2013 – 1st
2014 – withdrew before the race through illness
2015 – 1st
2016 – 1st
A win this year and he beats Greg Lemonds 3 titles, and puts him just 1 behind the 5 titles each won by Miguel Indurin, Bernard Hinault, Eddy Merckx and Jacques Aquentil.
Sorry, was rushing…

Nearly kickoff so time for a quick update on Hibernian v Sunderland
Racing Club Members are on Hibernian win and Hibernian over 1.5 goals,
After team news Hibernian have gone from 3/1 to 15/8 and it is a strong lineup Jermaine Pennant, Olly Shaw, Ryan Porteous and Callum Crane all looked extremely good against Dunfermline but all four on the bench today, John McGinn looked different class but he always does, Ofir “Rocky” Marciano didn’t have much to do but was good when called upon,
Very strong starting line up and bench today and should be two wins for Racing Club Members
Hibernian to win

Afternoon John,

Not anticipating to be awake for these 2 Irish matches, I dropped onto pre-kick off prices.
Cork to score – 1/20 home and dry.
Just need a goal in the Derry match and I march on to £1200.
So that never took long. I’m sat here feeling like I’ve been stood up against a wall facing the firing squad and everybody has missed their shot.
Once again thanks everyone that’s pitched in with support to getting me to this stage. Honourable mention to @hullshaker who gave me the thumbs up on a game where the donkey scored the goal instead of the expected victors – they all count, and the opinion over whether there might be a goal in the Colombian game that ended 4-2. If you pass on your email via @admin, i’ll mail you with my phone number and either via paypal or with a betting code, i’ll figure out a way to send you my gratitude via either some money for a slab of ale or a bet via an online bookie. Bet365 might be your best choice if you wanna have a bash at my method.
Once again, thanks.
Whats your email nathan ? Wouldnt mind startin one of them bets youv been doing . Would like a bit of advice . Cheers mate
ok, sure. @micky-Belfast again, I can’t really post my email on this site, i’ll get a million emails but I give permission for @admin to send my email to yours.
Not sure if you’re a paid up member but I did start a very big thread in the members section betting challenges about 2 years back. I think it was the very first thread/bet challenge and has several pages of info.
I am a paid mem. How would i be able to get it mate ?
Do me a favour and send an email to mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk reminding me to tell admin.
Guy who would do this is due back from holiday later this week.
Great stuff Nathan – well pleased for you! Next time I’m down your neck of the woods we’ll have a pint ??
Anyone on the Latvian selections – Riga 0-5 with 30 minutes to playcan be covered at 15/2no 6th goal ?
Good job covered…finished 5-0!
Valverde has crashed out of the tour and Ritchie Porte looks like he’s had a nasty crash on the descent. Lost his back wheel, hit the tarmac, bounced into the wall, then Dan Martin crashed in to him.
Quintado has tried to go it alone with 22km left, think he’s 14 seconds on the peleton.
I was wrong, Head of the course is 19 seconds on the 2nd group, the 2nd group has Froome in it and Aru, Quintana is a further 54 seconds behind Froomes group.
Looks like Ritchie Porte is out.
sunday super garbage from ireland, cork can’t even score twice against ten men st’patrick , how was it mentioned to be over 2.5 team goals peh
I got burnt on it also loads of shots on target, should be ashamed of themselves lol
England U19 v Germany U19
England need to avoid defeat to confirm their place in the semis but Ze Germans have it all to do. With the Dutch taking on Bulgaria in the other game and looking strong favourites to win Germany realistically need to win this game to give themselves the best chance of progressing. These permutations should lead to a game with plenty of incident and with Turkish confetti ref Ali Palabiyik in charge that should mean cards are on the menu. Pleasantly surprised by some of the prices available given the man in charge and what’s at stake
40 or more booking points 5/6 (NAP)

sorry @micky-Belfast , I’ve not been ignorant, I’ve been catching up on some missed messages. I started from £10. I typically side with league matches, try to avoid anything middle east, I draw up a list of maybe a dozen games the day before, whittle that down to 2 or 3 and look for a match where I think theres a goal in it. I almost exclusively go for over 0.5 match goals, sometimes but not often I bet against a side to not keep a clean sheet. Starting prices are typically between 1/25 and 1/14, but I use the lack of action in-play for the first 12-15 mins, guage the play and watch that price rise. Sometimes as high as 1/8. If the in-play stats/head to heads/last several matches, other members red flagging, bad weather, bitter rivals, under21’s, reserves, under 18’s, friendlies anything gives me a sniff of a doubt that there will be a goal in that game. I’ll grab my black marker pen and scrub it off the list. Also, on teams that let me down, I create my own C*nt list. It takes a good 4-5 months for a team to get off that list by consistently delivering.
The idea is to take a small amount of cash, play the waiting game for 10-12 mins, capitalise on the price rise and take 3 or 4 of those per day. It helps reel in your spending with the bookies and keeps you disciplined. If you make a 20% on your first day on a £10, you’ll think WTF !! I spent 6-8hrs stat trawling for that £2 profit.
Well tomorrow, if you repeat it, your profit is £2.40 and for the start of day 3, you’ll be betting with £14.40 instead of £10.
For your first £25,£45,£65,£85 and £105, I always bank a fiver. Then every multiple of £25 I add to my pot – every milestone I pass, I take another fiver.
You’re cutting down your spending, limiting what you lose and hopefully, after 5 or 6 days of that, you should be playing with the bookies money.
FYI…. a 37% gain per day if you can manage it or don’t bottle it, 37 days and you could in theory be sitting on a million quid. The furthest I’ve got is just over £4000 but I went off script, tried to overreach – chase the next bet – just get one more in !! And it bit me.
If you can stay really really disciplined, it takes around 294 or 297x 1/25’s to turn a £10 in to a million. It takes even less if you ride out the first goaless 10 minutes because the prices increase. Use bet365 the markets are better.
For a more in depth explanation and things that trip you up, look on the members forum, bets and challenges. I set one up I think it was the first challenge thread 2 years back. It has several pages. Read through it. Every once in a while, because some of the threads had hundreds of posts, we had to keep renewing the thread by renaming it part 2, 3, 4 etc. in amongst those threads, there will be questions from others about my opinions on certain matches, but in amongst them, there are some other pearls of wisdom. It will take you a good few hours to go through the lot, but you’ll learn a lot.
Remember that poxy 20% gain I mentioned earlier on £10 day 1? I made 17% today and I’m chuffed to bits. It equates to about £177.
Don’t try to bulldoze your way to your first £100, because if you manage it, you’ll maintain the same mentality when you try to hit the next milestone which is £1000. the fall is way harder, but its a learning curve, and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
I hope this helps.

Nowt doing on the Btts both halves.
Quintana dropped another 1 minute 15 to Froome today, Froomes group caught 2 single riders and one of the group took the stage win. But that should leave Froome about 2 mins 5 seconds over Quintana.
With Valverde and Ritchie Porte crashing out, Froome’s biggest title threat is Fabio Aru. The news that did escape me today was Geraint Thomas – Froomes wingman crashing out and breaking a collarbone.
Froome started the race @ evens, yesterday he was 8/13, he’s now cut to just 2/7. Aru is now 4/1. Quintana has dropped from 20/1 to 50/1.
Froome is ahead of Dave Brailsfords prediction that they’d lose the yellow jersey, but now we have a bit of a shake up of the positions from 2nd downwards. Froome still has 18 seconds over now 2nd placed Aru, so tomorrow rest day I’m sure will be a time to come up with a plan b’ because all of teams standard domestique’s need to up their game and somebody has to fill in and be Froome’s wingman.
He’s proved he can do it alone, he proved in 2012 when Wiggins couldn’t keep up with him. I’d just rather he had a couple of guys slightly better standard that can help him work and shake off Aru.
Maybe it’ll be the 2 time trials, or maybe it’ll be one of the climbs. But I think Quintana is gonna struggle to stay in the top 10 at this rate.
LOST it wasn’t to be. Time to look at tonights card

VALUR VS. STJARNAN (21.00 KO):

Valur are off to a flyer whilst the mighty Stjarnan are finding their feet form-wise.

Gremio are on my radar to net against Avai in the Brazilian top tier. I think 2nd plays 2nd from bottom.
Gonna wait for the game to start, gauge the match, see if Gremio dominate stats etc, if it looks lively and there isn’t a goal in the first 10, I’ll jump aboard.
I’ll be on this too, actually going to back Hremio win and Gremio Over 1.5 TGls

Gremio vs Avai 20:00
2nd vs 19th in the league. Best Attack vs Worst Attack. Despite the worst team quality a bit like the bottom club Goianiense, I still fancy them to net tonight. They have played above expectations away from home in 3 of last 4 games, and any team in any game can score a goal, right? Gremio played a CL match midweek and I’m convinced they will turn up tonight expecting an easy victory, whilst this may turn out to be true, I hope Avai can get a consolidation playing without any pressure on them.

Barcelona SC vs Deportivo Cuenca
Barcelona best joint attack in the league and I’m taking them to hit the back of the net early.
Average home goal at the 20min mark for Barcelona.
Main man J. Alvez (16 this season) scored late winner against Palmeires in midweek and is in the lineup.

Rionegro Aguilas vs America de Cali
Simply put America de cali are the better team and although this could be a tight affair I’m taking a change of the away side to net before the goal time.
America de cali goal before 70:00 5/6
@david h
I looked at that game because America De Cali almost never let me down but Rionegra joined my C*nt list a few months back after a match with Leones – my notes tell me it was a Colombia cup match and it rained. South American footy players get goal shy when it rains. As I pointed out to Mickey Belfast yesterday in my short summary, any excuse to thin out the shortlist and weed out the potential 0-0’s and I delete the match.
I forgot to mention, if you’ve not the luxury of access to the forums, where all my tips on thinning out the shortlist are, then you’re missing out on lots of juicy info to help you with the challenge.
If like me, you have your bet slip open, you’re logged in to your acct, you have the price up, you’ve entered your stakes, you’re just waiting for that 10-12, maybe 12-15 mins of nothing in the match to capitalise on the price rise – and then a goal comes. Don’t beat yourself up about a missed chance, and DO NOT DARE adjust your bet to now go for the overs 1.5 tmg’s. Your research factored in looking for at least a goal, your research HASN’T taken in to account that you’re planning for that 2nd goal. Scrub it from your list, the match is meaningless to you now, the goal has already happened. Push it to the side, grab a coffee, get your A4 notebook out and restart the research on your 2nd pick, maybe its an hour or 2 before kickoff. Search and search for anything from anywhere, there’s loads of stat sites to trawl through.
You’ll discover your go-to teams, you’ll create your C*nt list, your favourite leagues, the leagues and types of matches/competitions/playoffs to avoid and your knowledge is going to increase.
There’s people on here like Gregg who seems to know the inside leg measurements of all those lower end and development leagues in Scotland – its funny, a bit like Rainman, but he knows his onions, Jordan likewise never ever goes win/draw/win on anything – why, because he hits more winners for the site that way, some guys love the Scandinavian leagues, find out who they are and ask them.
You must remember though, that anything can happen in a game of football, and anything can affect anything – which can affect a result ( even whether the ref got his leg over the night before or slept on the couch ). The most common result in football is a 1 nil.
I’ll repost this in tomorrows forum.
Nathan, you and Kelly have taken challenge bets to the next level. I appreciate your feedback, I am a junior bettor and one that is still learning. Discipline is my downfall at times.
