THERE wasn't much to look at on Friday but my Super Single played out in the early hours of Saturday morning won at 6-5.
I've posted a Gold Cup preview and backed Canada to beat French Guyana and Costa Rica not to lose to Honduras in the Group A openers. Canada won 4-2 and Costa Rica edged a 1-0 victory.
Next up it's hosts USA v Panama tonight and I've tipped a draw with the other two sides making up the group, Martinique and Nicaragua, likely to lose to the top two seeds.
Elsewhere there are a pile of friendlies and some Scandinavian league matches which I haven't yet studied.
I don't like betting on friendlies but you have to wonder what kind of side Shamrock Rovers will put out at home to Celtic two days after progressing in the Europa League and days before their next tie.
Celtic don't play their Champions League qualifier at Linfield until Friday so should put out a strong side to keep their Irish fans happy. Brendan Rodgers's men are 3-8 at 10Bet and while I'd prefer to see their starting line-up I'm taking a chance on Celtic -1 at evens with Paddy Power and -2 at 12-5 with Skybet. Anyone who wants to wait for teams should do so.
Hearts also look worth taking at just under evens at a Linfield side who will have an eye on that Celtic game and who played midweek in San Marino. Again I'd prefer to see the Jambos line-up and they did of course lose 1-0 at St Pat's in midweek.
However, I'm willing to risk 2pts on Celtic, Hearts not to lose and Dundee at local rivals Arbroath.
I missed the first few days of Wimbledon because I was on holiday and haven't put up a bet until now. But I noticed McBookie and BetVictor have enhanced odds on wins for Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Milos Raonic from around 1-3 to 5-2. Max stake is £20 which for me is 2pts and I'm on.
Djoko and Fed are shoe-ins and while Raonic should get tested the Canadian big server is likely to overcome the challenge of Albert Ramos-Vinolas. Backing all eight men's favourites today pays 6-4 so the 5-2 treble is a decent offer.

May very well not score but im a bit of a sucker on jumping on what I class as high value bets. Has been subject of interest from Barcelona but Guangzhou are not looking to sell due to the high cost of finding a replacement due to new ruling being enforced in the CSL. Paulinho is happy playing regular football at the Chinese club ahead of the World Cup next year and I see no reason why he wont be playing. Man loves to get forward from midfield and is a big threat.

You overtook me for a while there @kelly-d . I’ve had a few corners bets bomb me like that in the past. Sometimes you get a flurry after a lull, almost guaranteed an injurytime corner for a side that’s holding on to a slender lead because they home in on the corner flag and hold.

@hullshaker I saw your write-up on Corinthians, its hard to argue, they are top of the league and seem worthy of some kind of punt, but I’m not as brave as you.
I had an eye on this game for about a day and a half and instead of the 1/12 for overs 0.5 goals, I’ve thrown a little caution to the wind and opted for Ponte Preto No clean sheet at 2/11.
That was after I went through this years and last years C*nt list and neither team feature, so I’m cautiously confident Corinthians will net.
A note to the site: and I picked this little titbit up from an in-play bet365 commentary ( the ones where the commentators have literally nothing apart from the obvious to say ). Apart from this: They have made it LAW that when Sau Paulo based teams play each other, they’re not allowed to host away fans because of crowd trouble. Nothing like a bet to make you sweat ( shoulda been a poet and i didn’t even know it ).
With the first half of the USA game and bet365‘s in-play graphical analysis or in-play action to choose from, I opted for the graphics ( I do less damage to my finger nails ). Bet365 locking out the betting in-play is usually a sign of something big, like a goal, a 1 on 1, a penalty, a sending off is looming. Unless of course its a match involving central American or south American teams, in which case, they tend to block betting if the wind changes direction.
So after another delayed start ( its prevalent in central America and North America ) the game gets underway a good half hour late ( try watching MLS ), there’s no such thing as a football game that kicks off on schedule. First half, not a lot happened.
With the Corinthians game kickoff looming at 11pm, I turn on the video action of the USA game and thing ” oh well, maybe another day “. 2nd attack and barely 5 minutes in and USA bag the goal I need. Then Panama equalise 10 mins later.
I check the cashout price just out of curiosity ( remember it was a 1/12 riding on £601 for over 0.5 tmg’s + a 2/11 on the Corinthians game that hadn’t started yet ) any guesses?
Bet365 offer me £606 to cashout. I have 2 words at my disposal and one of them is Off !!
