MY 4pts Super Single paid just 4-5 – it was a double actually – but came in as easily as any top tip I’ve posted.
I went for Wexford to win and Molde not to lose and the Irish romped it 4-0 while the Norwegians were impressive 4-1 winners at Sarpsborg.
I’ll be first to admit I’ve started July fairly cautiously and the tactics are paying off with a 7.2pt profit on the Super Single.
That includes a 2pt loss for a tennis single after I backed no tiebreak in the first set between John Isner and Marin Cilic. Anyone who watched the match will realise why bookies made tiebreak just 1-12.
On Saturday apart from the Copa America Final between Argentina and Chile and the women’s World Cup third-place play-off featuring England and Germany there’s not too much going on.
I’ll put up a separate Copa America preview on Saturday and will predict both teams to score as my main bet. The price is already dropping so I’m putting it up as a Super Single just now.
For my football treble I’m starting with both to score at Start v Stabaek – the last eight meetings have brought up the market with the last three at Start finishing 2-3, 2-4 and 3-2.
Add Bray not to lose at League of Ireland basement boys Limerick who go into their 18th match of the season with a win. Bray have been almost poetry in motion under new boss Trevor Croly and should win but with the double chance paying 8-11 at bet365 it’s worth putting on a treble.
Third-bottom Bray beat Limerick 3-1 at home in May and have lost one of their last seven meetings between the sides. Limerick have lost their last six and haven’t won in the league since November.
Complete with Germany Women to beat England in the World Cup third-place play-off. England were shattered by the manner of their semi-final loss and it could take them more than a few days to get over it.
Germany, who have underperformed, will be keen to return home with a medal and if they play as they can should win with top tournament scorers Celia Sasic (6) and Anja Mittag (5) fighting it out for the Golden Boot.
They could give poor old Laura Bassett more nightmares after her OG v Japan and I’m on Germany, who have never lost to England, at 4-7 with BetVictor.
There are matches in Scandinavia and Ireland to look at and any team news on the raft of friendlies is greatly received.
I’m not putting up a tennis single today – just a treble. I’ve found it difficult to spot value so let’s go with Centre Court jollies Roger Federer and Andy Murray to win 3-0 against Sam Groth and Andreas Seppi respectively.
James Ward is being tipped in place to beat Vasek Pospisil but I’d rather back him at 4-11 to win a set.
