GAMES last 90 minutes and that was just as well as my Super Single needed a last-gasp goal from Hearts.

The Jambos just about covered the -1 handicap and added to Southampton to beat Vitesse that landed an even-money winner.

That gave me a 2.3pts win to ensure a healthy profit on the Super single monthly total no matter what happens on Friday.

Europa League nights are always tough and I had no luck on my three losing trebles with Sampdoria’s heavy defeat at home to Vojvodina the biggest surprise.

On Friday French Ligue 2 is back for followers of that division but I’m more likely to concentrate on the Falkirk v East Stirling League Cup tie and League of Ireland matches which include leaders Dundalk at Bray and second-placed Cork at home to Bohemians. A double on Dundalk and Cork pays evens at Paddy Power.

Dundalk should win but Bray have suddenly picked up and have won their last four matches 1-0. Cork’s last four have seen both score and again that could be the better option

Falkirk are a short price to beat their local rivals while Paddy Power and Ladbrokes go 8-13 minus one.

There are also games to consider in Scandinavia and Austria and in Belgium champions Gent host Genk. And of course we have the usual collection friendlies including Watford v Sevilla and Bournemouth v Cardiff.

I like over 2.5 goals in the matches between Helsingborgs and Kalmar and Viking and Haugesund. Four of Helsingborg’s last five have gone over 2.5 and their last three at home to Kalmar have been 4-1, 2-3 and 7-2.

Viking’s last six have gone over 2.5 goals while Haugesund have drawn 2-2 and 3-3 in their last three matches. An over 2.5 goals double pays 2-1 at BetVictor and may feature on the top tips. Take those plus btts at Cork for goals treble.

I expect Helsinborgs and Viking to win and as the Super Single will end in a decent profit I’m risking 1pt on Helsingborgs plus both to score at 7-2 with 888sport.

A second Super Single is Falkirk -2 AH against East Stirling. The Bairns needed two late goals to beat Berwick last week but will be more fired up for a League Cup battle with their near neighbours. Both to score is a possibility at 5-6 with bet365.

Helsingborgs + btts (6.30pm)

2pts Super Single

1pt Top Treble

I think teams should be allowed to opt out of Europa league for the sake of football or at least our hard earned west ham unreliable

  2. Greg Browning 1 year ago

1st min or 94 minute it not over until it’s over Mr F – wel done with the double

Most you know I concentrate on French Ligue 2 on a Friday night! It’s not a league renouned for goals, hence the 5/4 – 6/4 prices for over 2.5

Two bets I’ll be doing every Friday

    1) all matxhes over 1.5 goals
    2) Al matxhes over 2.5 goals

1.5 pays between 10-17/1 and its never usually far away! while over 2.5 can pay upwards of 3000/1 – small stakes for big returns!

  3. mattr 1 year ago

Has the 2.5 ever come in Greg?

  4. Smits 1 year ago

Thanks for the tips! First day visiting your blog and I made a profit so that’s good. Just one question though; the profit in points… Is that based on putting 1 point on at each bet?

  5. Gopher 1 year ago

How often has the 1.5 come on Greg?

  6. Greg Browning 1 year ago

It has Matt when there was just 7 games one night, still waiting for the full house! Been close a few times!

Iisially do £1 on all the games then a 10p 8 or 9 fold – with bet365 ‘s cash out, if there are early goals you can get a decent cash out option for the perm and still let the £1 accum run

Gopher, I only started doing the 1.5 goals accum towards the end of the season, came in twice – worth a tenner

These aren’t tips gents, just some small stake lines I do on Friday night in this league!

    • mattr 1 year ago

Cheers Greg, interesting and can see how a couple of good weekends in a season would make it worthwhile.

  7. Greg Browning 1 year ago

From what I’ve seen of us so far Mr F, we are going to struggle again for goals!

We have zero creativity and lack punch in the final third!

The match is a sell out and Hearts will fancy their chances to open their campaign with a win!

I wouldn’t touch us, and i wouldnt touch Hearts until we’ve seen what they are like

Greg, was initially thinking Hearts but after seeing them to concede 2 to Arbroath maybe btts on Sunday even if you guys are a bit short. Hearts tend to concede even when they win. Goodnight all.

Here are tomorrow’s (Friday) system selections. Really fancy them all for O2.5mg. One day it will happen. Will also be looking at goal lines in play on top 6 and will put up what I am on as and when I can.

Hi all, longtime reader and fan of the site, was wondering if anyone may be kind enough to offer some advice.

I currently have the following acca running since the start of the week:

    Djurgarden *win*
    IFK Norkoepping *win*
    Valerenga *win*
    Monaco D/C *win*
    FC Tokyo D/C *win*
    S.Hiroshima D/C *win*
    HJK D/C *win*
    Rosenborg D/C *win*
    Southampton *win*

The last leg is Hearts double chance against St.Johnstone on Saturday. £1.32 staked, to return £122.21.

It was a fun and complete shot in the dark bet but never thought it would make it this far quite frankly! I was just wondering if there was anything I can do to make any kind of profit from a quid or so bet. Any advice appreciated and apologies for long post.

  10. James Slater 1 year ago

Hearts by the skin of their teeth scraped the handicap!

Had 4 points on my treble which granted, had 2 of Mr.F’s selections in so well done Mr.F for another winner on another night :)

  11. Greg Browning 1 year ago

Chris, I think your £122 is safe, we’ll do well to draw in Sunday let alone win

The only way to cover would be to hope Hearts take the lead then back us at 8/1

  12. Sean567 1 year ago

Jordan I followed u in on 888 with your anytime goalscorer for aik. Saw on live scores that he came of the bench and did in fact score. However when I checked my balance I see they have voided the bet. Is this because he never started and is it something they do often? I havnt bet with them for 2yrs so I’m not clued up on what they do.

Chris lob £20 on st Johnstone. If they win you’ll get a decent wedge back and if they don’t your £100 in profit

looking for a bit of advice, was in will hill shop today, they advertised a bet, Southampton and west ham to out score their opponents in both halves, odds of 10/1, i put £10 on. i struck the bet at 7.48 pm,i did not realise west ham kicked off at 7.45. thought they were 8.05 as per europa league, southampton bet is up, west ham down, will it be settled as a single because the west ham had already kicked off? ps i wrote it on a slip, thanks in advance

tam, if it was 0-0 as it was the shop can allow the bet at their discretion or change the odds if they have inplay prices. The bottom line is you got the bet you wanted and it lost. You can chance your arm but I wouldn’t push too hard if they don’t pay out as a single.

  16. conor 1 year ago

Yeah should b a single game had already started….unless he noticed in shop and gave the bet the thumbs up to go ahead as no goals at 748…If not single as at 748 game had started and u should have got better odds than 10-1

  17. conor 1 year ago

Well done on the super single Mr F, I was on it myself! However, on Wednesday you won all your tips and on Thursdays blog you posted in detail every winner as well as bets you won but didn’t tip. On Thursday, you lost 3 out of 4 tips and on Fridays blog you’ve only mentioned one losing tip. There was no mention on Targu getting hammered or the BTTS tip. There’s no doubt if you had won them, you’d have made huge fuss over them. Just think you should mention all bets instead of just the ones that suit you?! I appreciate your hard work, keep it up! Got a good feeling about this season coming up!

Flidster, read the post again, especially the bit about “three losing trebles”, then apologise. All tipsters make more of their wins and losses – that’s the way it is.

Not got time to check everything tonight and was on a hunt for anytime goalscorer trixie. Couldnt find anything worth the risk, but did notice Jon Dadi Bodvarsson for Viking. With Vikings main man Veton Berisha, who had scored 11 goals gone onto pastures new with Gruether Furth, the Dadi has done well so far to fill his boots.

The man has scored 4 goals in his last 3 home games, the recent two teams being in Haugshund’s vicinity and even notched against high flying Valerenga. He also scored in his last away game with an emphatic 3-0 will over Start, taking his tally to 5 in 4 games.

Considering Viking are steaming favourites to win and climb into to 2nd place as well as being capable of scoring a few against such opposition (3-0 Start,3-1 Sarpsborg, 4-1 Aalesund), this looks like a scrumptious bet.
Viking still look quality up front.

Evening/morning gents. Turns out my Goitom bet was in fact a void. Forgot what I had in the 888 account before hand. The trouble with having a fair few accounts I suppose so it’s good to keep a total profit tally to know where I’m at overall.

    Swedish Allsvenskan – 6:30PM

A bit hit and miss but Henrik Larssons side have beaten two of the now top three at home this season and will take confidence from a two win streak and winning 5 from 7 at home. His son Jordan (belter of a name) plays upfront and has scored 3 goals in his last 3 home games, scoring a brace in his last home game against AIK who are one of the better sides in the league. He is 16/5 to score @ 888, with top goalscorer Robin Simovic (9 in 16) a big priced 28/13 with the same firm. Away form is rare in the Swedish leagues and Kalmar are way down the board when you take this into account. Don’t take h2h into account as much as I used to but Helsingborg have a good scoring record at home against Kalmar over the years.

Following on from Greg’s comments on the French second division I’m going for a speculative 8 fold.

All games over 2 goal line (that refund option is THE bonus should any of the games finish with just the two goals). Having said that I did watch and bet on quite a few games from this league last year and they can be very low scoring.

Very small interest bet with spare change saying as it’s the first games of the new season.

    90p on returns £108.39

Surely that has to be worth a shout from such a little outlay. I’ll also be on over 1 goal line with much higher stakes.

    Good Luck.

Arsenal at home to west ham first game of the season. West ham had 3 red cards in their last 4 games and also lost enner valencia to injury last night. Also, with the 1st leg finishing 2-2, they will now have to field a stronger side for the return leg to Romania which is only 3 days before the trip to the Emirates, while arsenal will have a week at home to prepare. The head to head is as convincing as any you’ll see and I’ve gone through it all on here for my other bet of arsenal to score 2+ and Chelsea to win double.

    1100/1 for all 8 over 2.5
    17/1 for all 8 over 1.5

Just need the over 1.5 line to come in twice from 38 weeks to hit profit

haha what a cruel twist of fate Alex mate! Really do feel for you, we’ve all been there!

I remember well the Argentina v Paraguay game at the Copa America about a month back and the last gasp ruiner of a Paraguay equaliser and was literally myself about to cash out before seeing everything being thrown away. I was gobsmacked!

Right I have had a good look at the Danish super league and my Danish double looks a strong bet:

Viborg vs Esbjerg under 2.5 goals
    Midtjylland vs OB BTTS
    2.69 @Bet365

Viborg games are generally low scoring affairs at home.

Midtjylland are busy in Europe and OB well be the fresher team in this one. So I’m sure they will notch one. A draw well suit both here I feel. Hence Midtjylland scoring too.

The stats back it up as well.

Bournemouth V Aston Villa 8th aug

Surely a Super Single contender next week Aston Villa

    11/4 for a win

Over the years villa seem to leave there best work away from home and had a good run towards the end of last season, who know’s how they will go but sherwood may get some of that out his players ans some this season.

    Good price

  82. Jordan 1 year ago

Harry, RE West Ham. I almost posted last night to say how bad they’ve got off to with Bilic. Not exactly teams to cause any top 4 sides a threat and they’ve struggled badly in the Europe bit its still early days. Think an Arsenal 2-0 win is very likely in your opening match though.

Hi lads really look like the like of btts in the genk and cork game stats say that genk vs gents last 5 games h2h only once have they both not scored and the cork game cork have been on a big run of btts to score recently dos anyone have any thought or reason why this bet isn’t good any help welcome

    Ayr v Brechin KO 3pm

Early bird for tomorrow gents – 1st round league cup action from Somerset park! Ayr had a disappointing season last year but have made some decent signings this summer! Brechin on the other hand are rebuilding after Their manager left for Raith and some prize assets left for other clubs ( Ayr being one of them) big Darren dodds is in command now at Brechin but I think these clubs will have opposite seasons! Ayr at home I feel will be too strong

    Back Ayr 10/11 ( NAP )

I regularly have a look at Ligue 2 on a Friday night and I’ve had some good returns from over the past six months. Especially on a btts bet. It seems like one of those leagues where anyone can beat anyone with the exception of the top 2/bottom 2.

As its the first game of the season tonight it’s a difficult one to call but I’ve gone for

    FC Paris/Laval
    Red Star/Cretail

    £15.9/1 on B365

Ajaccio aren’t too bad at home despite finishing in The bottom 5 last year and Dijon just missed out on promotion.
Niort and Valenc both fall into that category of anyone can beat anyone, but they played out two high scoring games last year.
The other two are newly promoted teams at home so would expect them both to want to hit the ground running, I’d could see both scoring against two of the more average sides last season but promoted teams often leak goals in the first few matches.

Definitely going to have a look at the over 1.5 goals as well, there’s often a lot of score draws over noticed.

Over 2.5 goal Irish 5 fold…lost – 3 out of 5. Only small stakes and keeps the interest level up.

Onto the Brazilian game at 11.00.

Getting my head around the Premier League this last week:

TOP FOUR…never a given and I would always steer clear of saying such but Man City/Chelsea/ Arsenal/ Man Utd. In any order but my preference would be above.

Much more of interest for me (and value) is what happens just beneath the ‘top tier.’

Not quoting any odds but teams I will be backing to finish well but behind the top 4 – I will include Spurs and Liverpool but

That’s 10 teams and although it may not look like rocket science I cannot see any other teams sitting above these come season end.

Like I said, not looked at markets/top 10’s,etc but these would be the 10 for me…

Teams that I fear for would be: WEST HAM, VILLA, WATFORD AND LEICESTER.

Good to be back in the land of the stable internet connection.

Hi guys, very busy today so haven’t managed to get much up but after this mornings bad posts I just managed to break even with 8 out of 10 of my system picks going O2.5mg.

Here are the games the system has thrown up in Australia for the morning. I have put an asterisk against the three games in my O2.5mg acca paying 1.42/1. Can’t get goals in top 2 in list at moment on 365 but if you can get on them in play I would be looking at up to O2.5fhg and 4.5mg favourably. If you can get on all at evens or above I predict profit.

West Ham in the bottom three might be a decent bet.

  140. HullShaker 1 year ago

Tee, evening mate – Palace will be alright this season, upper mid table and safe. Swansea are a good footballing side and have a manager (IMO) that has impressed me greatly and will go from strength to strength – taking Swansea above the weight they should be maybe punching at and moving on in a couple of years time?

Alves, hope you are well pal, always good to stick a Prem outight/positions on…cheap and got a long shelf-life:

Sunderland, yep, they’d be the other team I would worry for and missed them out.

West Ham could well be a car crash this year and I hope it isn’t but well on the cards. Don’t bet on the market but Bilic to be first sacked could be a good shout for those that do.

  141. Tee 1 year ago

Hull don’t think Swansea have a goal scorer? They had Michu then bony, for me gomis isn’t that man. Can’t remember if they signed a striker or not this summer. Alves you left out Leicester in your table there! Raniere will surely drag them down and they’ll get rid before Xmas. What odds on Harry redknapp taking over at Bournemouth before seasons end :)

  142. Alves 1 year ago

I’ll have a wee read in the morning Paul when get to shop, hopefully get another lucky longshot :)
