IT'S already been a busy day at the Commonwealth Games with the men's and women's marathons and dramatic bowls matches among others.
Johnb's Games nap – Scotland to win the men's bowls pairs – is on course after they came back from the dead to beat England in a thrilling semi-final clash. The Scots face Malaysia for gold and are hot favourites.
Elsewhere Ace Venturer and myself tipped Bernhard Langer to win the Senior Open in Wales and he starts the final round with an eight-shot lead. And Aces is set for a dazzling double with his Canadian Open tip Jim Furyk leading by three going into the last day.
The Tour de France is close to finishing with Vincenzo Nibali about to be crowned champion and later it's the Final of the BetVictor World Matchplay darts.
Phil Taylor, who I tipped to beat Gary Anderson yesterday – and that was a real thriller – is slight favourite to beat Michael van Gerwen and I expect Taylor to again reign in Blackpool.
Put up all your sports tips and chat here.
Taylor is playin van gerwen mr f im goin for a van gerwen win because he really wants to win it
ant h, sorry that’s who I meant. You don’t win just because you want it – Taylor wants it to.
Mr F, congratulations on Taylor yesterday. I think we can say that I was right too saying that Anderson will have a great chance against him – this was really close.
My antepost tip is van Gerwen but I will most probably cash it out for a profit – I think Taylor will win today.
I can’t believe that Sally Pearson is 8/13 with Ladbrokes for women’s 100m Hurdles that’s a steal of a bet which can’t be overlooked
Red Sox @ Rays (18.40 gmt)
Rays @ 1.6
Red Sox pitcher is making his debut and should be another win for the Rays.
A’s @ Rangers
A’s @ 1.47
Kazmir should out pitch Mikolas and that should be enough of a difference for A’s to win.
Underdog bets
Mets @ Brewers
Mets @ 2.25
Both teams with rookie pitchers out tonight, Mets pitcher looks like a better bet though.
White Sox @ Twins
White Sox @ 2.1
This one is a risky bet because Sox are going for a 4 game sweep, something they haven’t done since May 1947! However Whir Sox are hot right now and Twins are in a slump.
Pirates @ Rockies
Rockies @ 2.15
Rockies have beaten the Pirates 8-1 twice in the last 2 days. Pirates starter Edinson Volquez has won 4/5 of his last starts but is 0-6 against the Rockies. Rockies @ 2.15 is to big to ignore.
Mvg v taylor
Over 31.5 legs at 5/6 looks good as it will be close whoever wins.but I’m also backing taylor
Value in Cuevas to beat Robredo @ 6/4 in the Croatia final. The man is on fire, with 12 straight wins and just three sets dropped post wimbledon. I think Robredo will be tougher than Fognini but Robredo doesn’t seem to be quite the player he was last year and I think this should be priced 50/50.
I’m also on Cuevas to win 2-1 @ 4/1 with betfair.
Great stuff from Cuevas. Wouldve liked the 2-1 but hey ho.
A preliminary look at this weeks tournaments has me leaning towards:
Dimitrov to win Washington ATP @ 4/1
Keys to win Washington WTA @ 6/1
Andujar to win Kitzbuhel cup @ 14/1
also on Venus Williams to win Bank of the West Classic @ 25/1. she’s never dropped a set to Azarenka and though shes got a tough route to the title, if she can get past her in the second round her odds will tumble. She was so close to beating Kvitova at Wimbledon and if she is firing on all cylinders can still beat anyone and everyone.
Richard Thompson and blessing okagbare to win male and female Sprints. Get on it.
