I PUT up two tips on Friday with one winner and loser so a profitable day in total.
The 10-11 Super Single cruised in with Bohemians leading Derry 4-0 after 20 minutes before running out 4-2 winners.
Start failed to score at home to Viking and Bruges lost to St Truidens after leading 1-0 to down the double.
The Scottish football season starts in earnest today with the first round of the Petrofac Training Cup. Tie of the round is Hibs v Rangers and I’ll post a separate preview on that one.
I wouldn’t go daft on the accas and goals bets could be the way to go. There are loads of new faces on show and no form to go on but here are my tips from Saturday’s Daily Record.
Holders Livingston should beat League Two Clyde and are a best 8-11 at Ladbrokes but both teams are massively changed from last season. Forfar are expected to see off Montrose who finished bottom of League Two with Ladbrokes going a biggest 1-2. I also like Falkirk at home to East Fife and that’s the Top Treble sorted.
For both to score try Elgin v Stirling (16 in four meetings), Ayr v Albion Rovers (10 in two meetings) and Cowdenbeath v Raith (21 in six meetings).
I took a chance on the Super Single and backed Rennes to win at Celtic. It was reported the Scots were playing fringe players to protect their stars for Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Qarabag but Ronny Deila has surprisingly named a full-strength side.
Old favourites Red Bull Salzburg travel to Mattersburg – who they beat 7-0 at home but just 2-1 away last season – and there could be a few goals but they may have one eye on a Champions League qualifier with Malmo in midweek.
However, I’m putting up another SS of Red Bull and Genk to beat Oud-Heverlee in the opening game of their Belgian title defence.
