ADRIAN LEWIS fell victim to a massive second-round shock at the World Matchplay last night and tonight sees more big names try to avoid a similar fate.
Lewis was as short as 1-12 pre-match but crashed to 13-2 debutant Gerwyn Price and tonight it's fellow Premier League quartet Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson, James Wade and Dave Chisnall on the oche.
Chizzy's clash with rising star Keegan Brown could be a cracker and the St Helens ace is 7-19 favourite at Unibet while Brown is 5-2 at BetVictor and over 13.5 180s (Chisnall hit 13 himself in his first-round match) pays evens at Paddy Power.
Taylor takes on Raymond van Barneveld's conqueror Andy Hamilton, Wade faces Brendan Dolan and Gary Anderson goes into battle against Mensur Suljovic, with the Flying Scotsman 4-6 at Coral to be king of the oche with most 180s, highest checkout and match win.
On the tennis front Swedish Open title favourite David Goffin tackles Benoit Paire and there's plenty more action on the ATP and WTA tours.
Cycling's Tour de France resumes with stage 17 and there's also Major League Baseball among the sporting highlights.
Post your tips and chat here and good luck with your bets.
I hummed and hawed about taking a +5.5 leg handicap on Gerwin Price as I know how lazy Lewis can be then decided against it, I would not even have sweated this if I had done it.
Brendan Dolan might spring an upset on Wade at 7/2 as he is a bit hit and miss although he does like it at Blackpool. Taking him at +4.5 to get 10/11 could be the call here. Going to double this with Gary Anderson -5.5 at 8/13.

Afternoon Guys Matchplay Darts
A 11/10 winner yesterday as Peter Wright covered the handicap, but it should have bee of could of been 3 winners as Simon Whitlock lost seven legs in a row when 9-6 up. Then Adrian Lewis suffered a shock defeat, he hit plenty of 180s as I predicted but I didn’t see Gerwyn Price matching him. My ante post tip of a 9 darter and possibly two went close again as Peter Wright hit seven perfect darts TWICE, and Whitlock hit a perfect seven. I do have a feeling it will go this week and maybe they are saving it for Saturday night when I am there. I wouldn’t rule out Taylor going close tonight as the second round concludes.
Chisnall v Brown
Chisnall has never lost to Brown winning all 6 previous meetings and won both matches this season. They played an epic Quarter final in last years Grand slam of darts which Chizzy edged 16-14. Brown had previously beaten RVB he averaged 98 in both them games and averaged 97 in beating Thornton. I tipped Chizzy to cover his 180 line against Jamie Caven which was set at 5.5 he smashed in 13! the total match 180s is set at 13.5 and I can see this going over as Keegan is no slouch in the maximum department he hit four in his 1st round match and I expect Chizzy to get at least 9 or 10 in which I think will be a long game. O13.5 total 180s is 21/20 Boylesport
I also like O21.5 legs at evens Skybet. I said Keegan could beat Thornton and it wouldn’t surprise me if he won this and 5/2 and the handicap are worth a look.
O13.5 TOTAL 180s 21/20
021.5 TOTAL LEGS 1/1
Wade v Dolan
James Wade averaged 103.59 against Kyle Anderson in the first round and he needed too as Anderson was superb, Wade isn’t usually one for big tons but will come into this with confidence on a stage he likes. Dolan was poor in his first round game averaging 88.52 and checking out at just 27% he needs to put at least 10pts on those to have any chance tonight. I spoke of nine darters and it was Dolan who hit the only 9 darter in Grand Prix history against… Yes James Wade!. I think Wade wins this this and I will take a chance on him hitting O4.5 maximums at evens Bet365. He hit 3 in the first round and isn’t a prolific 180 scorer but I cant believe Dolan will be as poor again and think we see at least 20 legs giving the bet a chance.
WADE O4.5 TOTAL 180s
Taylor v Hamilton
The hammer played superb against Barney in the opener averaging 95.90 and if he averages that tonight and keeps his checkout percentage at 42% like he did in round 1 he will push Taylor tonight. Phil Taylor beat John Henderson who really was way out his depth, Taylor only averaged 95.30 but still won 10-2. I cant see anything but a Taylor win and finding value is tough. The bet I like in this one is O10.5 total 180s at 11/10 Titanbet. They both hit 5 in round one and Taylor only played 12 legs. Having seen the 9 darter being so close on numerous times I can see Taylor giving it a right go tonight. Hamilton if he repeats his performance against RVB I can see him getting at least 7 legs so it should have a chance.
O10.5 TOTAL 180s 11/10
Anderson v Suljovic
Anderson was steady in his first game with a 95.59 average and I don’t think he will need to up that tonight to beat Suljovic who only averaged 89.57 as he edged past Terry Jenkins. Anderson didn’t really bang in the 180s as he normally does but I fancy he may want to put a marker down tonight after seeing what MVG did last night. Anderson hit 4 in the 14 legs played while Suljovic hit 2 in 20 legs, I am doing the same bet as I did with Lewis last night and taking Anderson on the 180 handicap. Price stepped up against Lewis but I have seen Suljovic several times and he doesn’t seem to have that extra gear if Anderson starts hammering them in. I think Anderson wins quite well and 7 maximums may well win this bet. The line is -3.5 evens at Coral and it takes the draw out the equation.
ANDERSON -3.5 TO HIT MOST 180s 1/1
If anyone isn’t on the 9 darter ante it is 6/1 sportingbet we see one tonight. It gives u a bet for every leg that played and Phil Taylor to hit the perfect 9 is a massive 33/1 at Coral and could be worth a small punt.
Good luck if your having a bet

Nice come behind win from 3-1 down in the 8th inning
I was on it Dazid, it was a great comeback!
Well no upset again for me with Fabio ousting Dzumhur. But Zverev coasted past Monaco. And if he can keep this up I’ll be a very happy man.
@ chief unlucky mate almost a 33/1 winner on taylor 9darter I fancied him there. U think it will happen this week?
guys had dolan + 4.5 in the darts is that not a wining bet finished 13-8 to wade?
watabanker, no that would have left him on 12.5 so it’s a loser
Ad have you seen the odds on the Istomin – Almagro? 5/2 seems a great price for Istomin.

Nice one tomekplnd, was a good game to watch too
Tomekplnd- I’ve had very little time to look at things over the last few days, but that istomin price you picked out looks fantastic in hindsight- well done!
I’m a little disappointed with myself as I nearly tipped Stepanek @ 30/1 a few days ago but didn’t. Still, Zverev is alive in Bastad, so there is hope left yet.
Tomorrow: ZVEREV @ 2/1 d Belluci.
Worth a go surely. He’s beaten better players in tougher climes before.
