July 20: Johnb’s Racing Tips & Chat

MRF_RacingTips_Racebets

BOTH Johnb’s Tuesday tips finished second so it was close but no cigars.

He says: “It looked like both were going to win but ended up finding one too good. July is now 39.37 points down.”

Johnb’s Wednesday Tips

Roman De Brut 10-1 racebets

Catterick 5.0
Singeur 7-1 NB racebets

Bath 5.10
Angelito 9-2 NAP racebets

Antepost tips

2000 Guineas 2017
CHURCHILL 20-1 (now 12-1) bet365

2017 Derby
CHURCHILL 33-1 (now 16-1) racebets

2000 Guineas 2017

Blue Point 14-1 racebets

Johnb says: “I have already advised Churchill for next year’s 2000 Guineas & Derby – he has been really impressive this season and my view is he will get even better next year.

“Blue Point on the other hand is harder to call for how he will progress next year. If he trains on then in my view it’s a straight fight between Blue Point & Churchill but in the Derby Churchill is the only horse for me – he gives me the same excitement as Golden Horn did.

“But to answer my question earlier the most impressive horse I have seen this year is BLUE POINT with Churchill and Annie Power a close second and third.”

Will take a chance on these

    VITELLO 7.25 naas
Has only ran once on gd/fm which i believe he will get tomorrow with the current weather and won beating NOW OR NEVER (rated 109) in the process so hopefully can get his head in front.
    LOUIS LEROY 6.50 naas
    2-2 over C&D
    TOCATTA BLUE 8.25 naas
Consistent sort and won off 83 on gd/fm last year. Off 82 today.
    SHOWDANCE KID 2.30 catterick NAP
Beaten by Johnsons horse previously but a big turnaround in the weights surely gives him a great chance.

    Best of luck to all

John, what I find most interesting about this documentary, is jockey Hugh Bowmans opinion that 90% of horses do nothing for the whip. In my lifetime so far, I can safely say ive only seen one horse that needed a whip, multiple g1 winning hurdler Brave Inca.
The fact is its only a matter of time before racing will rid of the whip altogether, whether we like it or not.

Good, and about time this barbaric practice ends.
John b admitted himself the other day his hand had been whipped and it didn’t hurt, and that the horse wouldn’t feel it with these new whips.
If that’s the case, why whip the poor animal

      • Profile photo of Johnb
        Johnb 5 months ago

As I have said before, the whip is for encouragement
The sound of the whip can keep the horses mind on the race and get more performance from a horse in the closing stages,
Somethings all it takes is just waving the stick, sometimes the horse needs to hear the whip

    • Profile photo of Johnb
      Johnb 5 months ago

Racing will never get rid of the whip because it’s also needed for safety

Well done the winners JohnB etc, one of those days when everything you back almost wins. I will put one up for later. I was looking for reasons to oppose if I am honest but having seen Go On Go On Go On go in again last night I am keeping the faith. Secret Asset is drawn handily and I hope I don’t get it wrong by opposing the veteran.

            • Profile photo of Johnb
              Johnb 5 months ago

this year is all about building the horse for next year, not taking too much out of the horse and the manner of the win should outweigh the distance,
I would think 2 lengths but an easy 2 lengths
