Taking my wigan boys -8 tonight and it’s not my heart ruling my head, Warrington have struggled this season and beating leigh last weekend came at a price with laithwaite ruled out for season and Ben currie who has been fantastic this season serving a ban. Along with captain monaghan out Warrington have around 6 first teamers missing. Wigan on the other hand are close to full strength as Anthony gelling is returning tonight which in turn will strengthen our second row as Joel will move back to his normal position. Wigan had week off last week but coach didn’t let them have week off they were in training all week as he said they didn’t deserve week off following poor performance last time out.

Cycling: Tour de France 2015 (starts this Saturday 4th July)
I think this race needs no introduction, even if you don’t follow cycling you know this one. It is more of a media circus than a cycling race nowadays, but it is still the biggest race in the world. The course this year is very challenging and not full of boring sprintstages like we had loads in the past. They put in a cobblestone stage like last year, some sprintstages and some uphill (sprint) finishes in the first week. The other 2 weeks are full of mountain stages and with only 42km of time trail racing we should see a good climber win this race. Because of the importance of this race we should see some more straight forward racing without many shock results like we saw in the Giro’ d’Italia.
I will try to find a bet for every stage, backed with level stakes.

These are match-ups between team mates. The main reason to take Martin and Majka over their team mate is because Hesjedal and Kreuziger have completed the Giro a month ago. Most riders who have done the Giro will struggle in the TDF. The other reason is that Dan Martin and Majka have prepared for the TDF all season and should be at their peak form in this race.
MAJKA top 10 finish @ 4.33 with WH
Majka had some great results in grand tours with a 7th place in the Giro of 2013 and a 6th place in 2014. He also won the mountain jersey in the TDF of 2014 after Contador crashed out with a broken leg. This season Majka has focused on the TDF and he will be the main helper of Contador. I think Contador will fail to win the TDF after he won the Giro and I can see Majka being stronger than his team captain. Majka looked impressive in the tour of Switzerland and he should finish with the best in the mountain stages which could lead to a top 10 finish.

My head says one of the main GC contenders will take this jersey, but my heart hopes an outsider can take it. Their are a lot of guys who can take this jersey and it’s almost impossible to predict, so I rather take a high priced climber like Simon Yates. Yates is an excellent climber and his team says they don’t expect him to ride for a place in GC. He showed some good form in the build up races (6th in Romandie and 5th Dauphine). If he loses some time in the first week I can see him in a lot of break aways in the remaining 2 weeks. Small stakes.
Back in November I tipped Joaquim Rodriguez each-way @ 81.00 with WH
That price was far too big and he now is priced as one of the outsiders (I don’t recommend to back him at the current price). If 1 or 2 of the big 4 crash out I can see him take a podium place in Paris.
