THE Champions League qualifiers didn't quite go to plan so it was a 4pts loss for my two Super Singles.

Midtjylland must have performed terribly to only beat Gibraltar champions Lincoln Red Imps and Bulgarians Ludogorets were even worse as they lost 1-0 at home to Milsami.

I don't think anyone saw those results but as I said in the preview you can't trust season who yet to start their league campaigns.

My other Super Single was riskier as I went with TNS draw no bet at home to a weakened Videoton but the Welsh side lost 1-0.

The good news is there are another five ties tonight including Celtic v Stjarnan and BATE Borisov v Dundalk. I can't see past Celtic winning by at least three and I'll put up a separate preview with full details on why I'm on Gary Mackay-Steven – on target in all three pre-season friendlies – to score as a Super Single.

One-time Dunfermilne boss Stephen Kenny must think he's dreaming as he leads a side into Champions League action on the same night as Celtic.

However, his journey to Belarus could be a nightmare against an experienced side who made the group stage last season and beat Athletic Bilbao. BATE are worth backing at 4-9 with Stan James and my Daily Double is the Belarussians and Celtic -2.

The other ties are Qarabag v FK Rudar, Malmo v Zalgiris and Dinamo Zagreb against Fola Esch with all the home sides short-priced favourites. After what happened on Tuesday I'm reluctant to put any handicap or goals bets on these matches.

Again there are a load of friendlies where team news is vital including Everton v Stoke in the Asian Trophy, B Moenchengladbach v Swansea and our old friends Cabinteely against MK Dons.

I might put up more tips later or in the morning but I'll be out all day Wednesday so watch the comments section for any friendly advice that's posted.

2pts Super Single

Mackay-Steven (Celtic) to score
(13-10, bet365)

2pts Daily Double

Celtic -2 (7.45pm)
BATE (6.30pm)

Profit/Loss: 6.2pts

July Daily Double/Top Treble record

11 bets (1 winner, 10 losers)

Copa Libertadores semi-final @ 1am River Plate at home to Guarani in the first leg. Think this will be a tight game and Paraguayans Guarani have been playing well to reach this stage.

    Guarani double chance @ 12/5 on bet365 looks worth a bash…

    • Martin 9 years ago

Bingo, do you think Guarani are more likely to score, or the match end 0-0 / Guarani lose – 0?

2.55/1 = Guarani to score -surely a safer bet than double chance for odds of 3.1/1?

  3. Bingo 9 years ago

Martin its tough to call. Guarani have scored in 4 of their last 5 away ties in the Copa. The one they didn’t score they missed a penalty. So they’re capable of scoring mate… The only disadvantage is that River Plate are well into their domestic season whereas Guarani’s has just started…

Bingo, Guarani scraped through the last round with Racing getting a man sent off in each first half of both legs and still dominated both games. They were the underdogs in their home leg too. Odds reflect those chances but River Plate are not the side they were last year. Good luck bud.

  10. Jordan 9 years ago

I was going to put a write up for yesterdays Champions League bets but its a good job I didn’t and that’s mainly why I don’t put reasoning with my bets now. I will however make a claim that I’ve watched games involving both Malmo and Zalgiris in recent months, and although the Lithuanians are top of their domestic league, they have lost to two of the other ‘big’ clubs in their league. Trakai and Atlantas away from home. The Swedish champions aren’t playing as well this season making hard work of a 2-2 draw against Orebro with a last gasp equaliser on the weekend, but the artificial pitch will make a difference which Atlantis don’t play on often.

  11. Jordan 9 years ago

My observation at the Libertadores tonight is that Guarani will score most definitely as river are bang average and are drawing too many games at home this season. Let’s not forget they lost to Cruizero at home and Brazilian teams NEVER beat Argentinian teams on their own patch in the Libertadores!

Guarani have had a fantastic run in this competition, particularly for a Paraguayan team as Libertad are ususally the top dogs in their league but not anymore. Guarani beat Corinthians in their own backyard in their Quarter Final and shut them out 1-0 so if they can do that to Corinthians they can give River a shock

    Hi all,

Iv been really impressed with some of the local knowledge on friendly games on here recently, its a major weapon to use against the bookies. Again tonight there are lots in the UK to choose from including York v Leeds and Forest Green v Cardiff. The Forest Green game in particular looks good for BTTS as a few seasons back a pre-season game between them was goals galore. Does anyone have ant specialist knowledge on teams playing tonight i.e the strength of the squads and your own opinion of your team this pre-season. I might stay clear of the champs league qualifiers as yesterday showed us all how unpredictable they can be. Same goes, perhaps even more so, with friendlies, but the inside knowledge could be the key to unlocking some profit.

Thanks in advance and good luck all!

    Afternoon gents

Early heads up on tomorrow’s early europa league KO

    Almaty v Alshkart KO 3.45pm

My beloved St Johnstone should be travelling to Kazakhstan instead of the visitors but we were knocked out by them on away goals last week and the truth is we were awful! Alashkart are 3rd in the Armenian league and having watched them twice, Almaty have nothing to fear and should win this comfortably! They beat Red Star Belgrade in the last round, are flying hight in the league! They’ve just signed former Bayern Munich olayer Tymoschuk from Zenit and aren’t short of a few bob! They have a multi cultural squad – Kazakhstan isn’t the Russian outpost that many believe it to be! ( Celtic fans know this :) – Almaty is the financial capital and they should be far too good for Alashkart who are no great shakes!

They are now just 1/3 to win the tie

    Back HT / FT 10/11
And -1 will be my main bets

    Will be backing this strongly

    • John smith 9 years ago

Arsenal not playing a lot of their top stars this afternoon, 2 youngsters up front, still looks a decent enough team with Wilshere etc playing.

Arsenal will win but struggling to see value on the betting front just now. Think it’s going to be best to wait until inplay.

  61. Jordan 9 years ago

It’s official. I’ve lost my mojo hahaha

Shandong Luneng 2-0 at HT against the bottom feeders. Go figure that one out! Malmo better pull through tonight.

  62. Gopher 9 years ago

Arsenal team to play Singapore:- Martinez, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gabtiel, Monreal, Wilshere, Flamini, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, iwobi, akpom

Over 4.5 tgs is 6/5 at bet365 just now, going to depend on how the young boys fair

Best bet before inplay may be 20/21 for Arsenal -3 on the handicap

  63. PeteT 9 years ago

Jordan – I think there are more goals to come in that game. Bookies haven’t written Luneng off so neither should you yet mate! :o) Have faith (or just be delusional like me!)

  64. Dom 9 years ago

Jordan. The vast majority of my bets of late has seen favourites not score at home to bottom feeders/underdogs. There is a theory that it is best not to bet ‘off season’ as these leagues are too unpredictable. My experiences certainly support this theory

  65. Jordan 9 years ago

Ta Greg weighed up a nice bet last night with them thanks to your input earlier in the week.

  66. Jordan 9 years ago

Dom you wanna put those bets up mate instead of just talking about them because until two days ago I was 35 points up for the month.

Cheers Pete they’ve had their chances but I’d love to know what the price of the away team to score let alone get two was.

  67. Jordan 9 years ago

I’ve just seen Yatai went off @ 1/3 too. They were odds against this morning before work and their top scorer Huszti was suspended. Ballacks. Back to the grind!

  68. Carl D 9 years ago

Cheers Robbo, neither of these games were on my radar so will certainly be looking in more detail at them.

  69. PeteT 9 years ago

Jordan – it would have been silly money. I mean they are 13/2 to score the next goal now.

Anyway – the first one’s in for Luneng, I went on over 1.5 and 2.5 Lueing goals at HT as it has to have a chance. So if you win, I win. :o)

  70. Dom 9 years ago

I read somewhere that sjarnan’s squad are mostly ‘students’ is this true?

  71. Geoff 9 years ago

Shenxin scoring twice just makes it more likely the bet will land as Luneng need 3 to win – think positively!

    2-2 now

  72. Jordan 9 years ago

Got a stream up here and its backs to the wall for Shenxin. Luneng getting a shot off every attack. Geoff by no means wrote it off bud, just couldn’t believe they were trailing 2-0 at the break.

  77. robbo 9 years ago

Bristol rovers have been playing friendlies on two consecutive days with teams named in advance consisting of first teamers and second year pros(basically strong teams for each friendly from what I can gather)
its worked well so far with 5-0,2-1 and 7-0 wins all against non league opposition.
last night they beat southern league prem side Cirencester 7-0,tonight they are nearer to home, away at southern league mangotsfield who I am pretty certain play a level below Cirencester.
on the basis of the gas pre season friendlies so far 4-11 to win looks good acca material

for me though I have taken them htft at 20-21 and will also be taking them either minus 1 or minus 2 on the handicap when the game comes inrunning

    bet 365 prices btw

Jordan demba ba turned down west brom to join shenua as well. Think went for around 12 mil

  83. Gopher 9 years ago

Does anyone fancy Stjarnan to score tonight ?

    • the watcher 9 years ago

      No.
      Embarrassing if they do.

  84. hampy 9 years ago

Fc jazz 11 of finland kolomon. Absolutely screaming out for a shed load of goals
    3.5,4 goal line.
aqay side 2nd bottom. Conceeded 40 goals in 11 games

  85. Gopher 9 years ago

    4-0 Arsenal that’ll do nicely

Went with -3 handicap at 20/21.

Starting to clawback some cash now after last nights disaster

Like the look of fc jazz Hampy will be on that one

  86. hampy 9 years ago

Anyone want to check up on jazz can do so on soccervista near bottom and its the 3rd listed league for finland. Tables etc below predictions

  87. darran 9 years ago

gopher remember last nights games be aware the could

  88. Jordan 9 years ago

Pete forgot about the BT Sports rights so you’re probably correct.

Hampy probably more than 12 million wages a year too! Crazy stuff.

  89. hampy 9 years ago

Haha wouldnt be surprised mate. Cahill you can understand coz hes crackin on abit. Surely demba ba had abit more to offer in more renowned leagues.
When money gets put before football…..

  90. darran 9 years ago

jordan i know the score would clog the whole thread up if i started oddly enough did you see that gremio and botafoga were beaten last night by combined odds of about 50-1 for a double ????celtic were 1-16 on TUESDAY today 1-8, MEXICO were 1-50 against GUATEMELA SUNDAY MORNING ended up SUNDAY night 1-8,and got beat, i mean whats occuring ludogrets,, apoel maccabi tel aviv the list goes on and on

  91. darran 9 years ago

Sorry mexico drew but may as well of been beat at that price

  92. Jordan 9 years ago

Yeah few dodgy results around darran but that’s football at the end of the day mate. Swings and roundabouts.

  93. Mattr 9 years ago

Hampy that league I have just realised is a goalmine ;-) always ignored because not on Sovcerwa but found it on Soccervista which is good.

  94. Mattr 9 years ago

    Sovcerwa? Soccerway…

  95. McLeish 9 years ago

Based on Stjarnans celebrations after scoring goals, they have a better chance catching some “Sea Bass” in the River Clyde tonight!! in my opinion. @GOPHER

  96. hampy 9 years ago

Haha mattr what you supping mate. Seems my kind of looney juice. Yes definately a good league for goals. I try to dig deep for games most people probably wouldnt bother with as bookies will probably be a little oblivious to the goals potential. Plus values dont dive as much as more obvious games. Fc jazz 11 goal line is definately my most confident bet of the day. Im really not liking the champs league qualifiers

  97. Mattr 9 years ago

I will never bet on Champs League Qualifiers again. In fact I will never bet on any club cup matches or play offs. Way too many times I’ve been caught up in the excitement of certain competitions and felt obliged to bet rather than just sit back and enjoy the footy.

  98. Jordan 9 years ago

I’ll remember that statement Mattr mate :)

  99. hampy 9 years ago

I only went on midtylland last night so not too bad il take one loss but is hard to predict how much these teams will be up for it who havnt played much league football if any leading up to it. Theres a couple games in iceland that look good for goals in iceland but goal lines will be high.

    Vikingur olafsik women playing away

Augnablik at home snaefell. These could both be verging on double figs but personally il hopefully be able to get on spmething inplay

  100. Mattr 9 years ago

Please remind me of it too Jordan :-)

  101. WasClueless 9 years ago

After last night not sure I should be doing this but …
    Malmo > 1.5TGS
    Bate > 1.5TGS
    1.4/1

    Tomorrow
    AIK Win
    Kairat Almaty -1, 1.5 AH
    0.95/1

  102. Yesevil 9 years ago

    Celtic O1.5tg
    Malmo O1.5tg
    Bate/Dundalk O1.5

    1.10/1 @Betfair

  103. hampy 9 years ago

Will be on fc jazz 11 goal lines today only. Too nervous on bate and malmo games to get any value out of them.
    Good luck lads

  104. Jordan 9 years ago

WC tomorrows bet similar to mine mate.

  105. Jordan 9 years ago

Gents I won’t be around for the Malmo game (probably a good thing the way my luck is going) but if you’ve followed look for cover if Malmo get a couple early goals.

Hampy you seen the price of us on Saturday morning? LVG has said no player will play more than 45 minutes but I reckon we’ll be good for 3 goals. Decent price but only at betway at the moment. Club America have conceded two against LA Galaxy and the Earthquakes last night so we should be able to score at will with our team that has traveled.

  106. hampy 9 years ago

No mate il have a ganders later

  107. Gopher 9 years ago

European qualifiers have been mental so far, so here goes something a little different

Qarabag, Bate, Malmo all 3 games BTTS treble
Small stakes only but 9/1 on bet365

Strange things have happened so far in the Europa/champions league qualifiers

  108. WasClueless 9 years ago

Jordan – yes recalled your comments a few days back – thanks for the pointer!!

  109. Sean567 9 years ago

    Celtic ht/ft
    Bate ht/ft
    D. Zagreb ht/ft

3/1 for the treble on bet 365 guys

  110. craigyboy 9 years ago

Handicaps are a dangerous game at the best of times and after last night I don’t see why people are backing -3’s and -4’s to find value around the even mark.

  111. rensen 9 years ago

Can you see Celtic winning by more than 2.5 goals ?

  112. Topbuzzer 9 years ago

    Hope so

  113. watp 9 years ago

Bit early but going for france u19s against a spain side who conceded 3 to russia and drew with holland.

im getting on france now and have won their last 5 games and kept 3 clean sheets in the process.

France u19s tomorrow to win at 6/4 13/8 various, hills and powers

  115. craneguy 9 years ago

poor nite owl bets only 1 of the 3 singles came in

both todays bets in japan and china were beat by a goal, did manage an inplay at work on global o4.5mgs at 4/6 to offset some damage, poor all in all though…………..

  116. Alan 9 years ago

    Hi Paul

Thanks for letting me know you had got 13/10 anytime scorer for gary mackay-stevens

  117. hampy 9 years ago

    Fc jazz
over 3.5, 4 goal line won
over 1.5 fhgls just sneaked in also.
happy with that and calling it quits

  118. Fitba Tips 9 years ago

BATE backers, lay off lay off lay off

Dundalk are putting it right up to them, should be 2-1 up

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

Mind you when BATE go forward they do look very dangerous

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

1-1 Dundalk are playing some stuff

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

2-1 BATE at Half-time, a wee deflected goal gave them the lead again. Dundalk had another good chance just before HT though and are still causing them problems.

PLaying like European masters, defending like LOI part-timers ;)

Still wouldnt be sitting too comfy on BATE but probably likely to see it out now.

  119. Roberto Stirrotto 9 years ago

    Celtic game;

    Johansen 1st scorer 6/1

    Winning Margin of 3 @ 10/3

    Bet365 prices.

    C’mon the Hoops!!!!!!

  120. craneguy 9 years ago

not decided what to do on the celtic game yet but having a wee dabble on this

    Ayacucho btts&overs 7/5
    Cajamarca btts&overs 6/4
    double 5/1

    stjarnan win 25/1 craig alves :D :)

  121. craneguy 9 years ago

    celtic btts&overs 1/8
    gms atgs 11/8

GL all with a bet on another tough one tonite……….

  122. craneguy 9 years ago

    celtic btts&overs should read 15/8

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

craneguy, just back in. I see Dundalk have scored but I’d be surprised if Celtic concede.

  123. adyzah 9 years ago

…and the single is a winner, 1.93 was ridiculous for a team like Dundalk which likes scoring goals!

  124. Mr H 9 years ago

Soccervista listing Griffiths on the bench…Ciftci starts?

  125. linfieldaces 9 years ago

BATE -1 draw 7/4 with skybet I presume Dundalk will tighten up and keep it the odd goal to go back home with.Feel this is a good thing

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

      linfieldaces

Dundalk dont look liek tightenfing up although they might so after HT.

Though you wold have presumed they would have started playig tightly but that would be wrong.

Only know one way to play really and they’re doing it. I reckon they’ll come out firing 2nd half again.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Fitba Tips, a 2-1 defeat would be a decent result for Dundalk so let’s hope at some point they realise it.

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

      Indeed Mr F

They haven’t realised it yet though.

Good chance they concede again here, leaving themselves very open and BATE leaving men forward.

BATE slowing it down a lot though at the back and happy to waste time.

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

Dundalk taking striker off and replacing with Ronan Finn (midfielder).

      Looks like 2-1 being taken.

  126. Jordan 9 years ago

Back from my outings and surprise surprise my bet is a long way off! First round of these qualifiers went well but an absolute wash out this week. Apologies to anyone that followed!

    • Laskillful 9 years ago

      Apology taken Jordan…*smiles*

  127. Jordan 9 years ago

Fitba it will make an interesting return leg on Dundalks carpet. Look to be very much in this.

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

Yeah except Dundalks surface is no carpet. Pretty poor by all accounts and needs changing. Too much wear and tear.

I would think BATE will have enough guile and experience to see it through

  128. Martin 9 years ago

No apology necessary Jordan, I’ve won a fair share from your football and basketball tips

  129. linfieldaces 9 years ago

Fitba tips are you watching mate? What do you think k of Dundalk next goal?

  130. Lamzat 9 years ago

    Celtic no clean sheet!

  131. Lamzat 9 years ago

Celtic to score 3 or more goals!

  132. Martin 9 years ago

Typical, Malmo the only side letting me down for 26/1 odds 8 fold :/

  133. trevor 9 years ago

Mackay-Steven not playing injured in warm up

  134. Michael C 9 years ago

Would the Mackay-Steven bet be a void then? (I think I can guess it won’t be…)

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Michael C, first scorer will be void but most bookies will allow anytime scorer to stand if he comes on but that’s unlikely if he got injured in the warm-up.

  135. trevor 9 years ago

    Should be void

  136. PeteT 9 years ago

    @Michael C

If he didn’t start it will be voided

  137. linfieldaces 9 years ago

Dundalk would have always taken being beat by an odd goal.I reckon they will win the home leg and good on them if they do

  138. Ritchie 9 years ago

    Small bet on Celtic half/full-time-evens.

  139. damo 9 years ago

inplay celtic ht 10/11, goal is coming

  140. linfieldaces 9 years ago

Just took abit of that Damo let’s get a wee goal here Celts

  141. Greg Browning 9 years ago

John, Jordan, Fitball tips, good stuff gents! Good luck with your bets!

  142. Alves 9 years ago

Celtic RT7 6/4 in aboot ya cows

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Alves, they need goals not corners. Celtic making hard work of it against a side who have come to defend and do nothing else.

  143. Gopher 9 years ago

Should have went for 0-0 predictions in qualifiers after last night

Qarabag, Bate, Malmo all 3 games BTTS treble
Small stakes only but 9/1 on Bet365 – LOST

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Gopher, 0-0 at Qarabag and Malmo were surprises. 1-0 Fola Esch at Dinamo Zagreb is sensational – thankfully I left those three games alone because of last night’s results.

  144. linfieldaces 9 years ago

BATE -1 draw 7/4 good thing and that it was.Hope alls had at least some luck tonight happy punting

  145. rensen 9 years ago

Celtic 1-0 this will be 3-0 or 4-0.

  146. linfieldaces 9 years ago

Great call Damo mate took it at 11/10

    • damo 9 years ago

  147. Dom 9 years ago

  148. Gopher 9 years ago

Slowly dwindled down this week but shouldn’t be complaining at 13 points halfway through July. Confidence is shot! May have a bet in the MLS tonight but will wait for team news. Tigres playing in the Copa Libertadores tonight which might see the debut of one of the biggest transfer shocks this summer for me in the ex Marseille goal machine Gignac. Can’t blame him for wanting to go live in Mexico for a few months but still strange as he could have played in most Premier League sides. I do have a bet for tomorrows Europa League ties which have been slightly kinder so I’ll wait for the new thread. Well done to the winners tonight.

  150. Jordan 9 years ago

Fola Esch score first at Zagreb? Unbelievable! United sell their Chile international who didn’t feature once and he’s banging goals left right and center for Zagreb.

  151. James Slater 9 years ago

    COPA CHILE K.O 9.30PM

    O Higgins vs Curcio Unido

I don’t quite know weather the bookies have priced this one up all wrong, but the over goals markets are crazy considering O’Higgins recent high scoring games..

    over 1.5 goals is 2/1

    over 2.5 goals is 6/1

surely there’s something gone a miss here? These are ridiculously too big, almost unbelievable!

  152. James Slater 9 years ago

Managed to get it just before it went live Jordan on William Hill, they’ve now adjusted the odds in-play. still managed to get on though, very spooky

Topbuzzer, it’s not the time of year to go with big stakes. Got to take it easy – that Dinamo Zagreb score summed up the qualifiers. They were 1-20 with some bookies.

  159. Michael C 9 years ago

Mattr – just started following your system yesterday – 1 loss and 1 win for me so far. Trying £2 stakes to see how it goes. Interested in researching a similar type of thing myself, but don’t know how I’d ever find the time. Happy to piggyback yours for a while though!

1 question – you say ‘current stake 1.18’ but you also say 5pts….. I am going to stick to my £2 stakes for now, but just wondered what the reference to 5pts was?

  160. Mattr 9 years ago

’m also offering a 2 pt tip on a very risky market but I can’t resist today. Hoping the bookies have got it wrong, all the stats back it up and I have been over them again and again.

Michael glad to have you on board. If I don’t say is one of the system tips then should not be counted as such. Only one system tip today. Number 14 will be tomorrow. Stake at moment is 1.18, that is a 10pt stake. If I say 5pt then only stake 0.59 (or £2 and £1 in your case) Hope that helps mate
