THE Tour de France hits the Pyrenees today for stage 10 and the big names are expected to be at the forefront.

It’s the first mountain phase of this year’s race and title favourite Chris Froome will face a fight to hang on to the yellow jersey. He tops the betting at 11-5 with Paddy Power to win the stage followed Nairo Quintana, 19-5 at 10bet.

Defending champ Alberto Contador is 12s at Paddy Power and Tejay van Garderen – currently second behind Froome in the overall standings – is a 28-1 long shot at Betfair.

There’s ATP tennis from Newport where the likes of John Isner and Jack Sock are in action and WTA matches from Bastad and Bucharest.

Other sporting highlights today include T20 Blast and international ODI cricket as well as an all-star game in Major League Baseball. Good luck with your bets and let’s hear your top tips.

Paul you do realise that literally no first team players play in these summer league games right? Basically the rookies from the draft with all the fringe players. Worse than betting on pre season football.

Cycling: Tour de France 2015 stage 10

First mountain stage. It’s going up and down with some short climbs until the last 14km climb with finish on top which will shake up the general classification. I can’t see a break-away make it to the end and I think the main GC riders will fight it out for the stage win. I think Froome will win this stage.

    Match-ups, winner in capitals:

    RODRIGUEZ v Contador
    Single @ 1.90 with 888

    FROOME v Quintana
    VAN GARDEREN v Nibali
    Double @ 2.41 with WH

Froome to win the stage @ 3.00 with BF

If a small group is together on top for a sprint, Valverde is the man to beat.

    Valverde each-way @ 41.00 with BV

Dazid. So pleased for my boy Frazier, he is easily the nicest guy in baseball. I loved the new format to the Derby, makes it much more exciting.

Who’ve you got for the All-star game? It really could go either way. My head is thinking evens for the AL seems good value but my heart is telling me National League wins a close one with Frazier hitting a walk-off homer and Chapman picking up the win… I can dream can’t I!

Hi guys. I took a bet on Tour de France Stage 10 matchup: FROOME vs the field. How is this won?

    T20 blast

    Yorkshire 4/5 – 5 points

Yorkshire have the better players in my opinion and they need to win more than worcestshire, i reckon the big players will turn up today.

Jaseos I’m think NL are gonna take it.
I’m not putting any serious money down so looking for some longer odds.
    Thoughts about the double result?
    Draw/AL @ 10.0
    Draw/NL @ 7.5

  14. Jaseos 2 years ago

I might stick a few pounds on whoever is underdog is as I am in two minds as to the way it will go. The top of the order, I think, the AL has the advantage but in terms of an overall 1-thru-8, I easily give this to the NL due to all of the ballot-stuffing the Royals fans did to get some of their more average players voted in.

I like that ht/ft draw idea of yours, they have been low-scoring affairs of late and with some of the top talented pitching on display, a draw is certainly not out of the question, through the first few innings. I might join you on both of those too.

Mr Orange. Glad my bet won. Haha. Any tips for today?
