MY main bet on Friday was RoPS draw no bet at home to Finnish leaders HJK Helsinki and it came in nicely thanks to a 2-1 win.
That gave me a 2.5pts profit but I chucked away 0.5pts with a risky bet on Andy Murray to beat Roger Federer 3-2. I was at the Scottish Open golf so didn’t see much of the tennis but by all accounts Fed played out of his skin and was a deserved winner.
Sunday’s final sees Federer go up against Novak Djokovic and it’s potentially a cracker but not easy to call. On Saturday it’s the women’s final and tough to see past Serena Williams – who I’ve backed from day one – against surprise girl Garbine Muguruza.
I’ve posted a separate preview on the game and will do another on the men’s final at some point.
On Saturday there are more friendlies than ever and I’ll see if I can find something of value before putting up tips in the morning.
There are also some league games in Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Croatia and Romania and having studied those I’ve come up with some top tips.
The Super Single is another double simply because I don’t see much I like that pays around evens. I was tempted by Wexford at Cobh in the Irish second tier with the Youths having won seven of the last eight meetings. However, Cobh are unbeaten in the league since losing 1-0 to Wexford in May so I’ll go with Wexford not to lose.
And to that I’m adding the only Saturday tip I had in today’s Daily Record. The Norwegian league has been good for goals recently and the aptly-named Viking lead the way with their last six averaging over four and their last five against Aalesund going over 2.5. Aalesund have conceded 19 goals in six away games go with over 2.5 goals.
As I said there are too many friendlies to look at teams should only be backed if team news is available so the advice would be to keep an eye on matches.
I wouldn’t be putting up a double if I hadn’t had some success on friendlies in the last week and in the belief Kilmarnock and Ross County are putting out strong sides I’m on them at Berwick and Elgin respectively. I’m going out so won’t starting line-ups – anyone who can wait until teams are announced should do so.
