Alashkert won convincingly against Santa Coloma as did TNS away to Tre Penne but Dundalk conceded to Longford. Taking a side to win to nil is always risky but Longford hadn’t netted in seven league games.
Euro 2016 resumes on Wednesday with the first semi-final between Wales and Portugal and hopefully the Welsh will come through against a side still to win a game in 90 minutes.
I like Wales’ chances of qualifying – and I put that up on Tuesday as a Super Single – with a draw in 90 minutes possible and I’ll post a separate preview later.
There is one Champions League qualifier tie tonight with Lincoln Red Imps facing Flora in Gibraltar for the right to meet Celtic. Both to score could be the shout there after Flora won the first leg 2-1.
Both teams could net also in the Europa League qualifier between Infonet and Hearts. The ring-rusty Scots by all accounts were lucky to win 2-1 at home but their fitness and all-round prep should be better a week on.
I expect Hearts to qualify with at least a draw in Estonia but again both to score could be the call and I’m doubling that with the Wales game.
