MY £20 to £250 challenge is on the verge of crossing the line after Jiri Vesely beat Joao Sousa without breaking sweat.
I had £162 on the Czech star so that takes my total to £234. I said I’d put the winnings on Andy Murray who is a best 2-9 to beat Nick Kyrgios.
However, with the aim to reach £250 I’m taking Murray +1.5 sets at 1-12. This gives me any Murray win – and I can see him beating the Aussie 3-1 – or even a 3-2 defeat.
It should be a cracking contest as Kyrgios on his day can beat anyone but on Centre Court with a packed crowd right behind Murray knowing his chances of winning the title have been ramped up after Novak Djokovic’s exit I’d be surprised if he lost.
They have played each other at three Grand Slam events in the last 18 months with Murray winning all of them and dropping just one set at the US Open.
Harrybaines and others continue to impress with their challenges and it’s turning to be a good thread.
Let’s see if I can make it my £250 target – but if you’ve been following and are happy with £234 take the money and run.
