MY £20 to £250 challenge is taking longer than should because of the Wimbledon weather but it’s still on course.
I had £121.50 on Milos Raonic to beat Jack Sock and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to take care of Juan Monaco – and after delays Raonic completed the double with a straight-sets win yesterday.
So that’s me up to £162 and closing in on my target. Two players interest me today and that’s Jiri Vesely and Tomas Berdych. Both should win and I’ve taken them as a double on the top tips.
For the challenge bet I’m on Vesely to see off seeded Sousa whose best surface isn’t grass. If he wins I’ll be on £234 and will probably take Andy Murray to win on Monday to finish it off. If Murray loses I’ll be more disappointed than seeing the challenge go down – but with Djoko out this should be his year unless we see some more vintage Roger Federer.
Harrybaines and others continue to impress with their challenges and it’s turning to be a good thread.
This is the place for all challenges so let’s see yours here – I’ll decide in the morning whether I go with one today or leave it until Monday.
