Jul 28: Mr Fixit’s Top Tips

MRF_TopTips_Genting
CELTIC fared better than most expected in Kazakhstan so half my Super Single was voided.
I took Astana draw no bet double with Hamilton and the single paid 0-3pts with 5pts gambled so almost back even.
The 13-2 Top Treble was only beaten by Trencin failing to score and they had plenty of chances at home to Legia Warsaw.
Thursday’s all about the Europa League with ties including Aberdeen v Maribor, Domzale v West Ham, Hertha Berlin v Brondby and Lucern v Sassuolo.
I’ve posted an Aberdeen preview and have checked out as much team news from the other ties as possible. It’s a difficult card mainly because so many sides are playing their first competitive match of the season.
I was tempted by Sassuola as a Super Single but I’ve decided to go with a double – Hertha Berlin and Genk as well as two trebles – a goals one and the other is Sassuolo not to lose, Hertha Berlin to win and Genk to score 2+ at home to Cork.
Remember to check out WeLoveBetting for their latest tips and video chat.

Morning gents, does anyone else think Dortmund will do the Manchester double today and beat City? They looked very good against Man Utd last week and I think they’ll be a little sharper than City today, especially with the Manchester derby being cancelled earlier this week. Can’t really see City winning this in 90…

Decent odds on the Dortmund win @ 17/10 (SkyBet)

yes – but downside is its a friendly and Pep knows them rather well …

Yes mate, hence I’ll be putting reasonably small stakes on this, don’t forget – Pep knew Bayern even more so and lost to them still last Wednesday.

    Velje v Roskilde BTTS 8/13
AZ > 1.5 TGS, Midtylland to Score 0.8/1
    Lucerne v Sassuolo BTTS 5/6
Aubameyang ATGS 13/10 (if he starts against City)
AZ like a goal or 4 whilst I have watched Midtyland who have started well in Denmark and I fancy them to net at Videoton in Hungary. Sassuolo were great for BTTS last season. They don’t tend to play with the Italian defensive mantra – so hopefully Lucerne can net at home. Aubameyang has had a decent pre-season with 3 goal in his last 3 games including a penalty against United. With no Kompany I hope be can net against City. (smallish stakes for the friendly / Europa games!!)

BBC are reporting that Aubameyang won’t play today as he has flown back home with his wife about to have a baby.

Thanks Gopher think you are right … will try Dembele who scored a great goal against Utd ATGS 7/4

Hmmm tricky one really, could go either way. Last time these two played (May ’15) Vietnam won 4-0.

      Vietnam’s last 3 games… won 14-0 (v Singapore), lost 4-0 (Korea) and lost 6-1 (Japan).

Philippines last 3 games… lost 4-0 (Thailand), lost 4-0 (VIETNAM), lost 4-1 (Myanmar)

It’s too risky for me… but good luck you go for it.. may keep an eye on the in play goals if they drop during the game for some value… can see a Vietnam win around 3 or 4

        Unless they want liquidation again,
£5 million a year wages plus probably £3 million transfer fee would probably be needed to get him

    • Profile photo of alex_mufc83

Really can’t see this happening, as you say, wages will be astronomical for Rangers

He’s a bad egg… throws his toys out of the pram far too easily

I love what he did for my team in 2013, won us the Prem. and well worth the 24M but his best days are well behind him and his performances no longer nulify his bad attitude

Johnb, must be Kilwinning Rangers then. Do you honestly think Rangers will pay a fee and then his massive wages?
Zlatan was also tipped to join Celtic and that was never going to happen either.

Mr f I can’t see it, just updating odds but a lot of people have been mad enough to back it,
Old Rangers bought players they couldn’t afford, maybe new rangers want to be old rangers again

Guardiola knows, in principle, those from Dortmund, but this sometimes is not enough, the defeat of City in front of Pep’s former team, Bayern , proved that. Dortmund has an advantage that started the preparations earlier and is in very good shape, which is why my choice is Dortmund to score two goals.
    Good Luck Mr. 😉

(the team coached by Gica Hagi started with a victory in the new Ligue 1 season, 1-0 against the FC Voluntari, finished in 5th place in Ligue 1 last season, took advantage of the fact that Dinamo could not evolve in the Europa League this season, Gica Hagi said before this match that his team will go to Belgium to attack and to score, bookmakers offer first chance to win to home team that has more experience in this competition, finished 3rd in Belgium, a stronger than Romanian championship, despite Gent starts with the first chance, i think Viitorul will do a good game and will not lose by more then 1 goal(1.65) and i expect to score at least one goal)

Absute crock with the SA games overnight and apologies to anyone on either selection.

Icelandic Cup action tonight and certainly a bit of value available…

    ÍBV VS. FH (19.00 KO):

FH have been THE top Icelandic side so far but I’ve watched their last few games and they just don’t seem at the races.

Whether it’s the European 2 legged games taking its toll or what I’m not sure but they looked lethargic against a really poor Throttur side and after a tight-as-you-like defensive start to the campaign, they’ve conced either 1 or 2 goals in 4 of their last 5.

One of those was against tonight’s opponents IBV who ground out a well-deserved 1-1 draw 2 weeks ago in the league H2H.

IBV have actually managed to notch in 10 their 15 games so far this campaign and have scored in each of the 3 H2H’s over the last 13 months (1-1, 3-1, 4-1)

    Three selections:

    BTTS…5/6

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…5/4

    OVER 1.5 2ND HALF GOALS…EVENS

Good luck with all bets 👍

    Bet 1:

Slavia Prague v Rio Ave (6pm)

    Over 10.5 corners

    10/11

Prague’s home and away legs in the previous round were corner fests, and Rio Ave are one of my ‘corner teams’ (although generally when they are at home). Low stake on this one.

    Bet 2:

    Aberdeen v Maribor (7:45pm)

I don’t usually post bets, but I think this one has a real chance at decent odds.

Does anyone else think NK Maribor have a chance of scoring against Aberdeen tonight ?

I think it has a very good chance as they have a decent scoring record away in Europe and I think they’ll come looking for an away goal.
They are also experienced at playing in both the Champions League and Europa League.
Scottish teams rarely qualify these days to reach the Europa League group stages or keep clean sheets, and I don’t think this will be any different.

just a wee heads up on tomorrow nites game at 7pm red star v metalec, red star one of favourites last year for tgs was normally a banker most weeks, this year still scoring but conceding also, lost 2 in opener last week and lost 2 against ludogrets on Tuesday nite, main striker and top scorer last season Vieira didn’t start in either but was on bench both times not sure if injured or out of favour, find it strange they play tomorrow after just playing on Tuesday and may be a bit jaded……….. only 2 h2h’s of any significance were last season that red star won 2-0 at home and drew 0-0 away, couple of bets that stick out for me are

    btts&overs 8/5
btts in 2nd half 3/1 (most of red stars games teams tend to score against them in 2nd half)
    metalec o1.5tgs 5/1

pretty familiar with the red star team with following last season so will take a look at line up prior to ko……….. just saying………..

The reason they play tomorrow is unlike here, their federation help their clubs In Europe by scheduling games so to give their teams more recovery time before midweek euro games.

I’m sure here they even made man city play on Sunday before a champions league quarter final over here.

It will be the same reason dinamo Zagreb play tomorrow as well.

I would expect both red star and dinamo to do the minimum necessary tomorrow.
Both to win 1 or 2-0

Here’s some perspective for you gents when it’s comes to the ridiculous riches of English football

The total spend on transfer fees by all 42 senior Scottish clubs is under £200,000 ( it could be less )

Bournemouth have spent, are you ready for it ……….. £37 million so far!

Not sure whether to laugh or cry!

    • Profile photo of nb89

Rangers have spent around £620k but that’s mainly been on development fees for Crooks, Windass, Rossiter and Dodoo and I think Dembele cost Celtic £500k. The difference in spending is sickening.

Elvis , it’s not so much that clubs are skint, it’s just the fact we don’t have sky pumping hundreds of millions of pounds into our game

The week was a terrific example

Kane Hemmings, Dundees best player and one who scored 20+ goals last season!

Oxford signed him for £250,000 and he’s probably increased his wages from £1500 a week to £4000-5000

    We just can’t compete

No disrespect to Oxford but in the grand scheme of things the are a little league one side!

Oxford pay more than Dundee ?
That is sad, but even when I was in my teens and Scotland were qualifying for world cups, most of the Scots were playing in England.
There is no incentive for them to stay in Scotland. Even if say Dundee got in Europe, they would inevitably be out by September and wouldn’t make enough dough to keep the likes of hemmings

Elvis, where would be English football be without the Sky money?
That’s the main difference between England and a much smaller nation in Scotland.
Hemmings had a clause in his contract to leave for £250k and wanted to return south.

IBV v FH…predicted IBV would get one against the odds given FH’s last 3 performances looking jaded which came good but assumed FH would at least play a part…finished 1-0 so bets are big fat losers 👎

    Night Owl:

CRB VS. BRASIL DE PELOTAS (23.15 KO):

CRB’s last 5 read 4-3-4-3-4 match goals with BTTS in 8 of their last 9.

Pelotas ought to get one here and have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 7 although CRB will likely outscore them.

    BTTS…21/20 (CORAL)

    OVER 2.5 MGS…11/10 (365)

    CRB WIN & BTTS…16/5 (CORAL)
