IT was a day of near misses on Saturday although that wasn't the case with the Super Single.
St Mirren draw no bet flopped as the Buddies crashed 3-0 at Hamilton but I'll take solace from the fact the bloke on Radio Scotland said it was closer than the score suggested.
Ross County drew with Raith to beat my Betfred Cup fourfold, Haugesund downed the btts treble and Malmo drew to beat the Top Treble. Their goal came late but landed Jordan's scorer tip while Greg's big-hitters double was a winner.
I'm hoping for better luck on Sunday but there's not too much standing out on leagues I follow.
In Sweden there should be goals at Hammarby v AIK and Helsingborgs will hope to beat a Hacken side bundled out of the Europa League by Cork in midweek. Gothenburg, unbeaten at home, should see off Jonkoping.
Start v Valerenga looks good for btts in Norway as does ROPS v HIFK in Finland.
There are loads of other leagues starting up as well as Inter v PSG in the Champions Cup and piles of friendlies.
Having looked at team news and stats my only bet today is a Top Treble starting with both to score at Start v Valerenga. Both have been involved in mainly high-scoring games recently and the last two meetings in Start have been 2-2 and 2-3.
Add Finns HJK who are unbeaten at home this season against bottom dogs PK-35 who have lost their last three.
I was going to complete the treble with Basel at home to Sion in their Swiss league opener but noticed the champions' friendly results. You can't judge a team on friendlies but Basel's confidence can't be high after failing to win any of the six played.
They conceded four to St Gallen, four to Zent and three to Wolfsburg in a 3-3 draw. Clearly the defence isn't as tight as it should be so I'm going for over 2.5 goals. Sion are a decent side but have a poor record against Basel winning one of the last 23 in 90 minutes.
However, the last three meetings in Basel have produced three goals and Sion have netted in four of their last five visits. A 3-0 or 2-1 Basel win would bring the bet up.
In Sion's five pre-season friendlies both sides have scored in them all and that included a 3-1 defeat of Zenit.

We had Dunsmore coming in and played ok, Crane playing at left back was outstanding and got man of the match, Carmichael also had a good game,
Keatings and Boyle starting upfront played well together and only 1-0 is disappointing but what a season we are going to have
Johnb, well done with the Hibs bets. It’s them or Dundee Utd for the title – leaning towards Hibs at the moment but I don’t think United can be written off under a good manager.
