The rest of the Betfred Cup group games are on Saturday and I've posted a preview. Tie of the weekend is Motherwell v Rangers but with many clubs treating these games as preparation for the new season low stakes are advised.
There are piles of friendlies for those interested in them and league matches from Scandinavia and Ireland and I'll consider those before putting up top tips in the morning.
For starters I'm going with the Super Single I posted in today's Daily Record. I haven't seen anything in the team news that puts me off St Mirren at Livingston although again we have to accept it's game one.
I've decided on another Super Single and it's a double on Premiership favourites Dundee at East Fife and St Johnstone at Elgin and they shouldn't have too many problems here IF they're in the right frame of mind.
My goals treble is based on stats with Annan v Stranraer the one that worries me most as again both sides might not be ready.
And finally I have a 1pt Top Treble on Rangers at Motherwell and two sides at almost evens or above away to lower-league opposition. That's Dumbarton at Forfar and Queen of the South who face Queen's Park at Airdrie as opposed to Hampden which was being used for a Beyonce concert.

A game I’ve been eyeing up for a few days, Jeju host a Jeonbuk side who’ve yet to drop a game this season – they can boast an 8 goal cushion at the top of the K-League – but they’ll have their work cut out to keep that record intact today. Jeju are decent at the World Cup stadium having lost there only once all season in the league…they have the 2nd highest goal tally at home after Sangju Sangmu with 21, their downfall though is they do concede, with the ball finding it’s way into their own net on 12 occasions from the 9 home games so far. Similarly, Jeonbuk can sure score away from home with 14 from 10 – but again, concede too many with just over a goal per game away from home.
Jeju are in poor form, their last 6 matches have seen W1/D1/L4 and are on the verge of slipping into the relegation half (bottom half) and I’m expecting that to happen today with another Jeonbuk win. The last 7 meetings between these two have seen Jeonbuk take all 3pts, and 3 of the last 4 have seen 3 goals or more scored.
Jeonbuk’s last 4 matches have involved a minimum of 3 goals being scored – Jeju have seen this in their last two. I’m expecting a high scoring win for Jeonbuk today and do fancy the over 2.5 goals + btts, but taking the slightly less risky option…

Henan Jiayne host a Lifan side who have only won once on the road in 8 attempts this Super League campaign. They can put the ball away on occasion, but concede too many, with 16 going into their own net in those 8. Jianye are pretty good in Zhengzhou – having lost there only once in the league, and that was to a very good Jiangsu Suning side gunning for the title. Jianye don’t score many, in fact all their wins this season have been by a single goal margin and it’s a rarity they notch twice in a match…what they do boast though is a rock solid defence at home, having conceded only twice – the best of any club in the league when playing at home. A win here today would push them up to 5th.
H2H shows a good record for Jianye with 7 wins, 4 draws and only 1 loss to Lifan. When playing at home against today’s opponent they’ve won 5 and drawn once with no losses. There may be a good case for the asian handicap on Lifan here today, but instead I’m going for the plain old Jianye to win – in what will probably be a tight match.

I think the way to go today is goals in the Rangers game. This is only our 2nd game of pre season and Warburton will be treating today like a friendly without the unlimited number of subs. The game we played in the USA we played well but similar to last year we missed a lot of chances. The players who impressed most were Windass, O’Halleron and Forrester in that game. Warburton has said Barton won’t play today and Windass and Kranjcar will not start however both of them may get a run out at some stage. Rossiter is away with England U19s so won’t play.
The only new signing that will play today is Clint Hill and it’s anyone’s guess what difference he’ll make to thedefence. Up front I think O’Halleron may start with McKay and Waghorn, if your looking for a goalscorer.
I think we’ll score a few today but are just as likely to concede and I don’t think there will be anywhere near a full strength team until possibly the 2nd or 3rd week in August so I think team news will be important.

Evening gents I have been reading info on lay betting on the Betfair exchange recently and thought I would have a go at it today. The bet was laying under 0.5 first half goals in one of the Swedish games after research I found that one of the teams had a goal in all games so far and the home side 92% so I was very confident on it. Backing it normally obviously would be quite short odds but laying unders meant I doubled my money. No if it lost I would have had to pay the liability. Has anyone had experience using this lay strategy? Thoughts and views always welcome
