I know Huggy, but my comment would have been the same if Arsenal was leading 3-0 at home and at halftime and ended up drawing/losing against Sunderland. Managing your advantage and not resting on your laurels should be the priority … to me it’s just a lack of professionalism.

Jamie Hughes came into the tournament as number four seed but his performances have been very flat up to now. His averages from round one and two were 84 and 81 respectively. He has also not checked out anything above 100 yet, his highest finishes were 64 and 66. Hughes did hit eleven 140’s and four 180’s against Razma in round two but in between those visits were some very poor ones which was the reason that he finished on a 81 average. Harms has come through two battles where all sets were required, beating Asada 3-2 in round one, and Williams 4-3 in round two. His averages were 89 and 87 repectively. The difference between Harms and Hughes is that Harms hits more 100’s during poor visits wheras Hughes gets more 60’s, 45’s, 41’s and 57’s. All things considered I think Harms will get the victory in this quarter final showdown.
Glen Durrant has posted averages above 90 in both of his matches so far. In round two he defeated Larry Butler 4-0 by hitting an impressive six 180’s, five 140’s, taking out 141 and 148 finishes as well as having a 95 three dart average (the highest in the tournament). Scott Waites trailed to Gert de Vos 3-0 in sets before a total collapse from the Belgian which saw him averaging in the 60’s and 70’s for sets four and five let him back in to win 4-3. There will be no such charity from number one seed Durrant today. Its very likely he will maintain heavy scoring throughout the match and collect the most 180’s in doing so.

Really poor afternoon. Waites came from 3-1 down and survived match darts at 4-2 to win. Equally frustrating was the fact that Jamie Hughes, who was averaging in the low 80’s before today, put on a monsterous performance and finished on a 95 average :( Onwards and upwards.
Watched Durrant Vs Waites….Some strange arrows from Durrant. At least two occasions he decided not to try for a checkout and let Waites in to steal the leg.
Playing stupid pychological games with Waites. Taylor used to do that. Its basically saying “I dont think you’ll checkout” but of course he did. Also missed too many at double 16 in important legs but fair play to Waites who’s come from behind two days in a row now

Harbour hit 16 140’s and only one 180 against Phillips in round two. He is an incredibly slow thrower and this is mainly the reason why he cannot complete maximums when well placed after the first two darts. He readjusts to throw his third dart so slowly after the first two that all rhythm and placement is lost. Smith hit two 180’s against Dawson and two against Adams in round one. I think Smith will win the 180 contest here.
Anne-Louise Peters knocked out number two seed Fallon Sherrock in round one and impressed taking out 140 and 160 finishes against Zoe Jones. Giving her a set handicap advantage against Hedman is a good bet to take.

Unlucky today @bullseye think I am going to give the BDO a miss from now on, the Waites game this afternoon was exciting, and some others have been but I agree with @gunner the quality is poor, the Smith game went to 7 sets and had 8 180s! Think the quality on show in the PDC has spoiled us for quality really, money talks I guess. Interestingly in a game this afternoon I was watching and the quality was so poor each leg I put 1 point on the checkout score being 40 or under, amazingly it must have come in 10 out of 12 times at 4/6 so made a bit of money on there.
Absoloute nightmare today, apologies to followers. Six bets placed and all bombed. Agree Gunner and Jacksonator the quality of the BDO is just too poor to bet on. The thing I’ve learned today is that stats mean nothing when the quality is that bad, It really is a case of anything being possible in a match and you simply cannot prepare for that course of play.
