I SAID Saturday was the toughest of days but it was great to see all the main tipsters putting up winners – mostly on goals bets.

My two both to score trebles won at 3-1 and 5-1 respectively and my Top Treble landed 3-1 thanks to Napoli's late winner against Sampdoria. The 5-1 English treble was covered for 1pt before Preston v Arsenal kicked off.

Greg and Desmond also profited from goals. Greg's over 2.5 double won at 9-4 and the treble landed at 11-2.

Desmond's both to score double trapped at 2-1 and his over 2.5 goals treble at 9-2.

Jordan's two bets were winners and Selectabet picked two correct on his 2+ Trixie – and they were good prices with Norwich paying 21-10 and Lincoln 37-10.

And last but not least Scott Allot's European treble won thanks to Real/Real HT/FT, Benfica and Guingamp draw no bet. He has posted a Serie A Sunday treble.

My biggest disappointment was the Edinburgh City Super Single loss especially as my second choice (Morecambe) and third choice (both to score at Ipswich) came in.

We'll all be hoping for more winners on Sunday with most eyes focused on the FA Cup, La Liga and Serie A.

Yesterday I kept banging on about how important it was to see line-ups and the best example of that was Millwall v Bournemouth. Unchanged Millwall won 3-0 against a Bournemouth side that made 11 changes from the team that drew with Arsenal.

Not sure why Eddie Howe had to be so cautious because from where I'm sitting Bournemouth look safe and I'm sure fans would have loved a cup run. Anyway once those teams were revealed it was obvious Millwall would win at a big price.

Today Liverpool are likely to field a much-weakened side ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup semi-final with Southampton. They should still beat Plymouth but my preference would be for over 2.5 or over 3.5 match goals.

Same goes for Chelsea v Peterborough although the Blues could field a decent side as they have no European football and are out the EFL Cup.

Spurs will also field reserves against Aston Villa and again over 2.5 goals could be the shout.

My Top Treble is an all-Italian one – two shorties and Roma at just under evens. Roma travel to a Genoa outfit who lost three in a row before the break and the second-placed side should make it five wins in seven.

Lazio face a Crotone outfit with just one point on the road in nine games and Juventus are aiming for 26 home wins in a row when Bologna visit.

I've also taken Genoa v Roma for both to score – four out of six have gone that way and Genoa's last two at home have been 4-3 and 3-4. Add Sassuolo v Torino with both sides capable of scoring and conceding.

If the two Italian games come up we can cover the stake on Villarreal v Barcelona in the evening. This is a tough return for Barca on a ground where they often struggle. Villarreal have netted five goals in their last four at home to Barca and were in decent form before Christmas.

I've not touched the FA Cup as I'd prefer to look at them after teams were revealed so my add a tip depending on my movements today. For now a Super Single is Andrea Belotti to score for Torino. He has 13 on 16 games and netted against Sassuolo in the past two seasons.

Well… Maclaren scored for me in the Roar match. However the Victory match didn’t quite go as planned. I did initially look at over 1.5tg (rightly picked by Jordan & Sean); but was fairly certain there’d be at least 3 goals (likely all from Victory)… I was also confident on the corners market, neither of which eventuated.

So an overall poor showing from me yesterday, but hence the merit of a point/staking system… so I don’t ruin myself in one sitting.

Today we have the final match in the round, with the best team in the league (by a fair margin) against the worst team in the league. Sydney really should continue their undefeated run here. Of some concern is the noted absence of Brosque and Brillante (due to suspension), but their depth in squad should more than cover even these big losses.

The Mariners are just plain horrid. Most goals conceded (28) in the league, just hovering above Adelaide (although I rate them as worse than the Reds). Losing defender Faty last round to injury is only going to hurt their chances of getting anything from this game even more. Prior to the introduction of Western Sydney Wanderers to the league, this was the NSW derby. There is still a bit of rivalry between the two, however Sydney has long had the Mariners number, with the last 8 games seeing 6 wins for Sydney, 1 draw, and a single win (back in 2014) to the Mariners. The 2014 Mariners side was a very different one I should note, and back then was considered one of the strongest sides in the league. 2014 was the very beginning of their decline, after being champions and premiers respectively in the previous two years.

Anything other than a dominant display would be a surprise. There aren’t team markets for corners as yet, but I do fancy this one to clear the line.

    Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC – over 3/3.5 goals @ 1.97 (3PT)
    Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC – over 4 cards @ 1.85 (2PT)
    Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC – over 11 asian corners @ 1.97 (2PT)

    Longshot:
    Sydney FC to score a penalty @ 5.00 (0.5PT)
    (Bet365)

    • obi wan cannoli 7 years ago

Much better set of results on the A-League. Won goals, cards & corners. Only the long shot fell short, with no penalty going Sydney’s way. :)

      Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC – over 3/3.5 goals @ 1.97 (3PT) (WON)
      Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC – over 4 cards @ 1.85 (2PT) (WON)
Central Coast Mariners v Sydney FC – over 11 asian corners @ 1.97 (2PT) (WON)
Sydney FC to score a penalty @ 5.00 (0.5PT) (LOST)

    Morning gents,

It was a great day yesterday and looking to carry on the good run!

Costa Rican top-flight back in action and Saprissa’s game interests me later on with a 22.00 KO – will post later in the afternoon if feel it is worth a go.

As far as the daytime betting goes, I’m keeping it relatively simple with a Team Goal Double from two of the FA Cup ties:

    LIVERPOOL OVER 2.5 TGS
    CHELSEA OVER 2.5 TGS

DOUBLE PAYS 1.72/1 with Coral (fractionally better than 365‘s 1.69/1)
    ????

Best of luck with all bets ?

    • theboss 7 years ago

Nice to see you tipping over 2.5 on both games @hullshaker I have them in a goal accu :)

Still 365 won’t settle the bet from 3 days ago! They said once we find the result we will settle it!

I mean it was only a tenner to win £43! Just void the line. ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Odd one boss – I had added a 3rd game into my double which lost anyway otherwise I’d be able to tell you what Coral had done with mine ??

    • theboss 7 years ago

Guess I’ll have to wait and see just annoying seeing it in my unsettled section! Not sure if the money is mine or not ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Liverpool 0-0..who’d have thought it? Not me…double lost ?

  5. jimmyrunacres 7 years ago

Don’t get too much time to post but just a quick double for tomorrow.

    Udinese to score
    Villarreal to score

Double is 11/10 with Bet 365

    – Udinese have scored in 8/9 league home games
    – Inter Milan have conceded in 7/9 league away games
(Worth noting Inter Milan have kept clean sheets in their last three – may put you off)

    – Villarreal have scored in 6/8 league home games
    – Barcelona have conceded in 5/8 league away games

Udinese hit a bit of form before the break and Inter have a woeful away record. Villarreal are traditionally strong at home and have a solid goal-scoring record there this season, they should trouble the Barcelona defence. Good luck all.

    BTTS Treble

Morning all, it is your main man Max here, I have a couple of tips to share with you all. There are 3 big teams playing at home today against lower league opposition and I’m willing to put up my second NAP of the new year, after the first one landed last week. I also have a NB to share with you (PLEASE CHECK TEAM NEWS)

I am however starting with my team Liverpool, I cant see past a win for us. Mane, Sturridge and Milner wont play, I suspect Coutinho wont be involved either and I think Firmino will be rested. Origi has been pulled out the firing line in recent weeks and I think Klopp will start him today. In 4 cup games he as started he as scored 3 goals and I like him to score at 10/11 Unibet, and to grab 2+ is 4/1 for those looking for a bigger tip for smaller stakes.

Chelsea have confirmed that Batshuayi will start and at home even with some big names missing they should be too strong for posh. This guy cost 33m in the summer and while he hasn’t lived up to the price tag so far, he wont have faced an easier defence then he will this afternoon. I make him my NAP at 3/4 Hills and again if you play with smaller stakes 2+ is 7/2 Betstars.

Spurs are the 3rd team and with Dele Ali scoring a brace in his last 3 games, he will be popular however he limped off against Chelsea and I doubt he starts, the same with Kane. I have read they could make upto 8 changes and if he starts then Vincent Janssen maybe the one to be on here at 6/5 Bwin. All off his goals have come from the spot and here is a stat for you all.

Mike Dean is the ref, in the last 7 spurs games he as been in charge off, he as given 5 penalties to Spurs. If Janssen starts over Kane he will be on penalty duties, and if you cant wait for team news, then spurs to score a penalty looks good at 7/2 PP.

Origi to score 10/11 (NB 10PTS)
Batshuayi to score 3/4 (NAP 20PTS)
    Janssen to score 6/5 (5PTS)

    To score 2+

    Origi 4/1
    Batshuayi 7/2
    (double pays 20/1 various)

Spurs to score a penalty 7/2

    GL

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

Spurs are 4/1 sky bet to score a pen. and it is 18/5 @ william hill for a penalty to be awarded and scored.

Another A league game another load of goals. Unfortunately tho the mariners got 1 more than I thought they would and downed the -1.5 Asian tip. However 2 odds against winners sees a good start to the day.

    Zaragoza v Girona BTTS 10/11
Last H2H is a little misleading because of the red card. Zaragoza have scored in every home game and Girona who sit in third in Segunda have found the net in their last 8 games. 6/9 of Zaragoza’s home game have seen BTTS. At nearly evens will take a chance on both finding the net

  28. warktheline 7 years ago

    CARDIFF v FULHAM
    Over 2.5 mgs 8/11.
CARDIFF goal before 52 mins 5/6.

Looking at a game that has been largely ignored and haven’t seen mentioned yet on the site…

    BORO VS. SHEFFIELD WEDS:

With Boro hanging precariously above the drop zone and without a win in 5, I can’t help but think Karanka and his men may have half a mind on other matters.

A number of key players are likely to be absent including: Fischer, Ramirez, Barragan, Fabio and Leadbitter. New signing Rudy Gestede is available but Karanka has indicated that “he is unlikely to start.”

Wednesday on the other hand are in fine form; undefeated in 6 and playing some great football.

Forestieri has notched 6 times this season and will be looking to impress against a top-flight team.

Some big prices for the away side and I can’t see them being completely mugged off in Teeside.

    Four selections to consider:

    BTTS…EVENS
    ????

    SHEFF WEDS OVER 1.5 TGS…3/1
    ??

    FORESTIERI ATGS…13/5
    ??

    SCORE DRAW…15/4
    ??

Good luck with all bets ?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Now it’s in focus with you and Greg. I’d like to see teams.

    • solway11 7 years ago

As a Wednesday fan I don’t expect Carlos to select a full strength Wednesday side today so wait for the line ups. Also Forestieri struggled in his last game after coming back from a 3 match suspension with the manager saying he wasn’t fully fit. Personally I fancy Adam Reach to get a goal anytime going back to his old club (10/1 will hill)

    • solway11 7 years ago

Good luck to your lads Solway ?

  39. shepushedme 7 years ago

Looked into 1st goal scorer bets today and garey for Plymouth seems stupidly high at 25-1 with bet365, he’s a decent goal scorer and shares penalty responsibilities jervis. So any penalty would be a 50/50 chance of him taking, he’s also 7-1 anytime. Recon liverpool with win but with karuis in goal and some more inexperienced players in front of him I can see them conceding at some point and Garey just seems good value to me.

My 1st comment so bound to be a 5-0 Liverpool win now and no shot on target for Plymouth haha

Just rechecked odds and been reduced to 20-1 1st goal scorer and 11-2 anytime. Still some value there though!

Carey’s having a great season and that anytime tempts. Remember him well from his St Mirren and Ross County days.

One for the early evening and I’ll be travelling back to my ancestral home…

    Iceland, I’ve missed you…

    VÍKINGUR REYKJAVÍK VS. ÍR:

Reykjavic Cup time and this tournament usually gives a decent indicator of the coming season – these two met literally a year ago with the result a 3-3 draw heralding a cracking season for IR who romped the 2 Deild and were great to back for goals.

Vikingur are the ‘better’ side in terms of standing and will no doubt score but watch out for IR – the promoted side will cause plenty of problems for a shaky Vikingur defence.

365 have the goal line set at 3.5 and 2.025 looks about right at a touch above evens.

I’ll take that and see if any wider markets appear on Coral later on

Tough game for Barcelona away to Villarreal but they are now 6pts behind Madrid who are not stepping off the gas under Zidane, if they want to win the league they need to go and win these games. Barcelona are always likely to concede on their travels. Don’t normally bet on this market but 2/1 there is some value

    Liverpool O2.5TG
    Chelsea O2.5TG
    Spurs O1.5TG

    3 points @ a shade over 13/6

    Shooty In

Liverpool team is out and they have made wholesale changes but should have enough about them to sweep aside 4th Reid opposition.

Chelsea will also make changes with a rare start for John Terry a possibility and Batshuayi will come in for Costa, not too shabby a replacement.

Spurs will rest Kane and Ali but I don’t see the cup being a priority for Bruce And Villa may well rest players too as they look to push for a play off spot.

seen a couple of comments re the £100-£10k challenge put up the other day failing, just on a cautionary note as seen a few people jumping on it the other day after first post from doublechance on here claiming to have done it 3 times in 2016, personally far too many outcomes for me on a 6/10 wdw treble (27 different permutations) as we all know its hard enough picking out a 6/10 single I don’t see how a wdw treble on 3 heavy favourites can claim to be some sort of magic “get rich by end of February” formula my 80 year old mother could of picked out those 3 after all………….. please don’t get me wrong I’m not criticising only pointing out the odds on the outcome and wish the boy well going forward, just saying……………

    • wasclueless 7 years ago

When you do that sort of challenge it has to be on short-priced favourites.

Harsh to judge him on one bet though and I hope he makes a good attempt next time.

    • craneguy 7 years ago

not judging or being harsh mr f just saying……….. been a few come on here 1st post making claims of this and that prefer to see evidence myself anyone claim this or that after all, I genuinely wish the boy all the best to anyone that can take £10k off a bookie its far from easy though………….

It’s been a rubbish day and I’ve half a mind not to put this one up but have been weighing it up for a couple of days so will go for it…

SAN CARLOS VS. DEPORTIVO SAPRISSA (22.00 KO):

The first round of games in Costa Rica’s Torneo de Verano (Summer Tournament) began in the early hours and 3 time winners in the last 5 seasons Saprissa are back in action…

The bad news is that when these sides last met, only one team scored – San Carlos – in a 2-0 win. Worth noting that I’m pretty sure that was sandwiched between Saprissa’s CONCACAF games which may have impacted.

The good news is that in 9 of the 10 previous H2Hs, both teams have found El Onion Bag with the other 2016 game seeing both teams scoring in each half in a 3-3 cracker I remember well!

Corners feature heavily in the away team’s games and anything over 10 is usually fair game though I’m not a corner-merchant like Alves it may be worth considering.

I expect Saprissa to make an early season statement here although San Carlos won’t make it easy for them:

    Three selections to consider:

    SAPRISSA OVER 1.5 TGS
    ????

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…20/21
    ???

    BTTS & OVER 10 CORNERS…1.6/1
    ??

    Good luck ?

    Haiti o5.5mgs evens

    currently 2-2 just before ht

  137. craneguy 7 years ago

hull, been looking at that game too but I’m thinking the promoted side last season had had a couple of good results last season against saprissa winning 2-0 and drawing 3-3 therefore san carlos to score twice at home is too big for me so going…………

    san carlos o1.5tgs 7/4

    punt

    san carlos, heredanio o3.5mgs 6/1

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Good luck pal…was sorely tempted by BTTS BOTH HALVES at 11/1 but sensible head on tonight after today’s unmitigated disaster ?

PS – Mrs Hull’s fuming with you re the comments you made earlier…tell you mate, soon as she’s finished up that chimney, she’ll be giving ye a call…

  138. liamw 7 years ago

won – rescued a bit from a rubbish day. Also got on Barca exactly one goal in play @11/8 vs 8/15 for them to just to score – should’ve posted but was more confident in the double. Been liking the exact goals market lately though as its often easy to cover for guaranteed profit in play – e.g. if Barca had scored a bit earlier.

mgls double in play 5/4 *won*
    Barca game o1.5
    Juve game o2.5

    Inplay – Villarreal v Barcelona

    O4.5 Cards – 4/5 – 5pts

    *WON*

Finish the day with two decent winners, a day which promised much and you question yourself but straight back on to a few winners.
Inplays at Villarreal v Barcelona and cards at Preston saved me on a tricky weekend.

Well done to anyone finding some winners today!

  141. liamw 7 years ago

In Play, currently half time. Brazil U20s.

    Uniao Mogi U20 v Cruzeiro U20 01.5 goal line @ 1.925

3, 4 goals in Uniao’s last 2 games, only 1, 2 in Cruzeiros but with 18 shots in the 1st half I’ll put a small stake on this.

    • liamw 7 years ago

Stroll on…6th minute (yes 6th) red card for Saprissa – the good luck continues…could be an interesting game ?

  144. celts1888 7 years ago

Any suggestions for an inplay flutter cing saprissa down a man , hull or crane ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

      Best left alone pal!

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

No surprise with a 6th minute red – even the corner count finished one shy…terrible day ?

  145. craneguy 7 years ago

celts, sticking with ma san carlos o1.5tgs tbh looks goosed though had ball in net 1st half but chopped off for offside, a red in SA usually means no goals………. teams so used to defending a man off as happens all the time……………….
