ON a quiet night I was happy to land a Super Single winner at 6-4 – although it was a double of over 2.5 goals at Cardiff and Prestatyn.
I also hope I put people off backing MK Dons who were clearly not interested in their FA Cup clash against Chesterfield and while I didn't back it my suggestion was Chesterfield draw no bet at 12-5.
I'm pleased to bank some profit on Friday for what I expect to be a tough day of Saturday betting. FA Cup ties, weakened teams and the transfer window opening means checking team news is vital.
I've in general ignored the FA Cup on my top tips but if I could I'd sit at a computer in the afternoon watching the line-ups drop then look at who I wanted to back. Hopefully some contributors will get involved in that but I plan to be at a match weather permitting.
In Scotland it’s business as usual for sides in the lower leagues but there have been quite a few changes of personnel with clubs such as Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton losing key loan signings. Question for you please. Early December I put on a 5 fold accy in my local Will Hill only to be let down by M.K Dons who lost 1.0. I found out today that the game had to be replayed due to Chesterfield fielding a player without permission from parent club etc. Obviously at the time I didn’t know that there was an issue and the game would have to be replayed. Does that mean that game on my in shop accy would be void and they would pay out on the 4 fold or I would at least get my stake back? Not sure how it would work.

Morning all, feels ages since we have had a nice quality card like today to choose from, although that does mean the research time increases by a couple of hours. Thankfully the boy woke up at 4:30am so I was thankful to have something to keep me occupied.
Recently I’ve been experimenting with a combo bet which did yield me a 7-1 yesterday however I paid out *6 on the different permutations of the bet so the actually profit didn’t quite match what a 7-1 winner would expect. Other than than the combo has pretty much seen the cover win so stake back. The conclusion is that while I’m not losing money I’m not really winning any either. The problem is that the combo was heavily reliant on draws. For the 20-1 treble to come in it needed 2 out the 3 games to end in a draw and while that will happen from time to time it’s doesn’t happen a regularly as I would have liked and wanted to. So, today I’m changing the combo, going a little more risky but doing away with the draws altogether, I’ve also reduced the number of bets per treble so if it’s a winner the profit isn’t tied up in the original stake. This allows me to increase the number of trebles I can bet on, which means there is added security in numbers as well as a cover being in place.
The bet then is quite simple. For each treble I have a banker and a NB which I’m as confident as I can be will win. To get the decent odds I’m looking for the banker is no less than 1/2 but are playing at home and the NB is no less than 4/6.
The third team is the cover, with both team at evens or over. The weaker team goes in the treble and the stronger team (ie Mr Fs SS) stands as a stand alone single as a cover. For this cover bet I have chosen teams with low draw stats for last 5 games and H2H
So Ill be cheering on the banker and NB (both odds in) to win and the cover to lose, but not then win for stake back.
As oppose from the other combo – draws are not our friends.

Plymouth has recently dropped of with form in last 2 games and this won’t be easy for them!
As a die hard York fan, I am going for York win. About this time last year we were in a similar position in the league and went on a great run to reach the playoffs. Staying unbeaten till we lost to the eventual winners!
York have won the last two games home and away and we are beginning to gain some momentum. We managed to avoid an unwanted record of home losses in a season against a good Accrington side with 10 men winning 1-0 and then went to Carlisle and put 3 past them.

I thought id put this as many have backed sydney today and Melbourne to beat perth the other day. Both bets I would never have touched. I watch a lot of A-League on BT Sport and the quality of football is very slow and boring.

Birmingham need a cup run as they have little else to play for. Plus they have sorted their away form out, only losing 2 of their last 9 and not conceding many goals. Dave, both teams seem to be missing key players and my other thoughts are it’s the FA Cup and how “desperate” would they be to get through. As a huge wigan fan. The FA Cup means alot to us Latics fans. Beating a multimillion pound Man City team, to win the mighty trophy (not to mention 1000 profit after betting on Latics win)
Today’s match is a tough one. It is vs Bolton. Our rival. I went to the away game vs Bolton in the league game, where we got womped 3-0.
But today’s different. This is a cup game. The pressure is off us. I think our boys will go out and play with no pressure. Also they will have a huge following behind them (3000 Wigan fans traveling to the game). Also a little fun fact- We are unbeaten in normal time for three years now in the FA Cup.
If this was a league game, I’d say bolton win. But it’s a cup game – there’s no pressure.
I’d go for Wigan not to lose.

even hard core rangers fans say this is the worst team ever and in my 40 years of watching Scottish football it is the worst rangers team I have ever seen
rangers have not only lost 3 in 5 but were humiliated in the process 3 defeats were by hibs, qos and hearts, the 2 wins were a lucky 1-0 at cowdenbeath and a 2-0 win at Livingston in which only a livi 2nd half OG secured the points for rangers, both livi and cowdenbeath are at the bottom of the table
the rangers team is in turmoil and the caretaker manager McDowell by his own admission doesn’t want to be there so surely doesn’t have the dressing room
there has been a bit of good news at board level in past 2 days with the “3 bears” buying up the majority shares from lacksey partners and dave king buying up 15% of the shares also so it looks like there will no be some stability at the top
although I don’t think this will improve the performance of the dross on the park for today anyway

So last night was a winner for my £20-£200 challenge and we are now up to bet 3 and £54. I took a while to think about tonight’s one but I finally decided on this:

This is a case of PAOK having the best home record in the table (6/8 matches won, scoring a total of 20 goals) vs Panionios who have the worst away record (6/7 matches lost, having conceded 11 goals). I can see a straight PAOK win by a few goals tonight. I was tempted by the O2.5mgs @1.8, but I thought I would play it safe with just over 2GL just in case as this league does throw up some surprises sometimes. It’s also worth mentioning PAOK’s last 13 matches all having at least 2 goals in.

On paper Athleti are going to win this, and that im sure be the result. They are the better team, better organised, better form against a poor Levante outfit. Athleti at 1.22 best price is not for me at all. Levante historically give the home sides scares. Levante have actually scored in 5 of the last 6 H2H,including twice last season in a 3-2 defeat away to athletico. In the reversal Levante won 2-0 at home. They are capable of scoring. This season Athleti have conceded in 5 of 8 home games. The home side will score today, can the away side? What is this checkout colour nonsense im seeing?!? Doubled up and lost 6 or so times in a row on green at odds against, losing over 700 quid to a £10 stake ( i know youre a big stake kind of guy harpeet so could well be far higher than that) then move on to red at odds on. You’d have to win over 150 bets in a row at a £10 stake to recoup those losses. Am i missing something??

Sticking to BTTS market and have two picks for tomorrow following 2 out 3 today – however forgot to place btts on gillingham match which won so really 1 out of 2 in terms of winnings.
Think the BTTS in La LIGA Espanyol Eibar match is overpriced at over EVENS. Stats suggest that Espanyol have conceded at least one goal a game in the last 7 as well as scored at least one in last 7 games and Eibar can score a goal or two and average over one a game. BTTS seems overpriced so I am on.
BTTS on Aldershot Telford match in English Conference at 1.72 is a good price too as both teams have conceded as Aldershot have conceded in all last 8 matches as Telford have conceded in all of their matches it seems so both leak goals and have shoddy deference so BTTS should come in.

dave, to be honest he’s harmless and if you don’t like him ignore – it’s easy. Anyone who backs him can but most people know the score with his tips. I don’t know anyone who’d do the martingdale system on darts. And yes they’d have been better on the darts board.
I agree it is generally harmless Mr F, and as you say most people do know the score. But there are people who come on here chasing losses who are desperate for winning tips and when someone is so loud about how incredibly profitable their dodgy tips are and is telling people to get on get on, easy money, it starts to be a little less harmless. Yes, people have to be personally responsible for the tips they choose to follow, and people shouldn’t be banned or insulted for posting bad tips, but when it’s combined with the kind of approach outlined above it becomes a bit of a problem, as we can all attest to. But yes, lets all move on and hope things clean up on here!

I know exactly what you mean Bald, but I find that doesn’t happen often with the youngsters. Got an 8-0 earlier and they were U19’s as well. The more experienced players ease off in the 2nd half but then a nice Under goals bet is a good move.

Flamengo U19 are more than capable of knocking 6 or 7 past their opponent, its not unusual for them to score that many. Unfortunately I cant find any information on their opponent. But the bookies arn’t giving them a chance, so 4 or more goals would not surprise me.

Can I ask your thoughts on Sunderland v Leeds tomorrow? I’ve now watched Leeds in the last few matches, and to be honest, they have been nothing short of awful. To me, the effort and commitment have gone. As well as there confidence. Really think Sunderland may open the flood gates against them. I’m just worried that some players may try to raise there game against premiership opposition. However, they have shown next to nothing at all in there last few games. Struggling to even pass the ball, with some players looking disinterested. I know there’s a lot going on off the park at Leeds, it may be affecting morale. Sunderland look too good a price at -1 to be honest.
