CELTIC'S late show gave me a nice 13-10 Super Single winner but my 1pt gamble on Scott Sinclair to score first didn't come off.

I worried about the Celtic -2AH when line-ups revealed no Moussa Dembele or Leigh Griffiths but Sinclair hit a late double and his fellow attackers chipped in another two.

Griffiths will miss Wednesday's meeting at home to Aberdeen but Dembele could be fit and Celtic may need him against a side in good form.

My Top Treble was disappointing but on a day when the likes of Barcelona, Roma, Napoli, Dortmund, Sevilla and Anderlecht all failed to win it would have been tough to land an accumulator.

Add to that three more FA Cup shocks as Millwall, Fulham and especially Sutton beat much higher-ranked rivals. Although to be fair maybe only Sutton was a real surprise and they always had a chance once Leeds decided to make nine changes.

The magic has well and truly gone from the FA Cup unless you can cash in on the underdogs.

My both to score treble was also a loser with only Real Sociedad missing out at Real Madrid and that was a shame because they'd scored there on their last six visits.

Monday's a quiet one ahead of busy week so it probably should be a no-bet day. Jordan's disciplined enough to see that and has put up a double I like for tomorrow while HullShaker's posted a cracking analysis of Curzon v Stalybridge in National League North.

Only because the accumulators are showing such good profit have I decided to put a double. It's over 2.5 goals at Jong Ajax vAlmere – and that doesn't need any explanation – and Valencia not to lose at Las Palmas. Valencia have hit some decent form and their 2-0 win at Villarreal last time out was impressive. An over 2.5 goals double is an alternative and only that Villarreal clean sheet puts me off.

I won't be around until early evening as I'm off to a lunch for the one of the guys who has left Record Sport.”Mr Mac” was Mr Fixit before passing the baton to me many years ago – so blame him!

Keep your pennies in your accounts gents. I certainly will be with Tuesday giving us an invitation to see off January with some value. Two home teams to score in the Premier League. I have no idea how Burnley can be underdogs at home to Leicester. Very good value for them to score against a side who have one clean sheet away from home all season. Second pick is Swansea to score at home to Southampton who have played three games since Swansea’s 3-2 victory at Anfield. The Saints rotated against Arsenal in their 5-0 FA Cup defeat, but the Swans looked dangerous against Liverpool, and Southampton have one clean sheet in their last 7 away from home.

    Burnley
    Swansea

    To Score Double @ 48/50 @ Boyles – 5 points

Could add Chelsea to score at Anfield which pays a handsome 17/10 in a treble.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Totally agree on Burnley and as you say Swansea looked dangerous at Liverpool. Also Fonte has gone and van Dijk is injured.

    • alan 7 years ago

Burnley to beat Leicester has to be the bet of the week. As a Rovers fan, I don’t make a habit of backing them, but their price can’t be ignored. I got 3/1 for a Burnley win + over 1.5 mg”s.

I think the next best bet of the week has to be Leeds on Wednesday, to beat my shambles of a team.

Changing the subject, are there issues with the Oddschecker App?

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

I like the look of this Jordan and am on it too, as well as the treble given Liverpool’s form… whilst they will have Mane back (I think) they still don’t look good at the back.

Personally January has been a really tough month for me, and I know a few others on here as well.

Would like to turn things around a little!

  3. iaabh22 7 years ago

Not much about today and the 3 fixtures I picked yesterday all 6 teams scored but a Barcelona goal that was not given started the trixie off badly and the Mainz Dortmund game end 1-1 so it was £40 lost leaving me £470 up for the month no value in a trixie today so I’ve picked out a promising looking BTTS & over 2.5 treble which I’ll be putting £20 on.

    Las Palmas

    Morning gents,

Both Mr F and Jordan have flagged the fact it’s a pretty poor card and whilst I completely agree, there is one game in the National League North that offers potential value…

CURZON ASHTON VS. STALYBRIDGE CELTIC (19.45 KO):

Something of a local Tameside (East of Manchester) derby this one with both sides grounds within a few miles of each other and not too much love lost between both sets of fans.

Whilst Stalybridge are the more historically established club with well over 100 years under their belt, it is relative whippersnappers The ‘Nash who, at about 60 years old, are grabbing the headlines of late.

CA have been great to back for goals both this season and last and are one of the first teams I look for in any BTTS lines but even they have ramped up their own expectations in the last 9 days.

Respective 3-2 and 1-3 wins against top side Fylde and high-flyers Darlo weren’t exactly expected but go to show the sides aspirations as they set about undoing a pretty dismal start to January that saw them lose their initial 2 games of the New Year.

Don’t be duped by the 3 December losses – each of those came in a variety of Cup matches (FA/Trophy/Manchester Cup) and perhaps belies the club’s priorities this campaign.

Ironically, the Manchester Cup tie in mid-December saw Stalybridge 1-0 winners at their place – Nash’s answer to that? A 1-2 Boxing Day away win 13 days later against the same side!

It’s maybe worth noting that whilst Curzon were battering Darlo at the weekend, the Stalybridge lads were rested after their home game to Telford was postponed – will it have a detrimental impact?

Probably not – I find that further down the leagues, busier schedules tend to be more of a boost to form than a hindrance although hopefully fresh legs for ‘Bridge may lead to an away goal…they have scored in 13 of their last 14 games and in 75% of recent H2Hs.

With CA conceding on a regular basis – and in all 7 of their recent outings – it may be well worth keeping the away goal on-side despite their last 2 results.

    Just the one selection:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…5/6
    ????

**Look out for Niall Cummins on the scoresheet for ‘Nash – 80% of first goals scored this season!

    Best of luck ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

**sorry leading scorer and 80% of his goals have been first goals.

    • liamw 7 years ago

Was just about to post some stats for this one myself – agree with both yourself and @wasclueless on the O1.5 tgls for ‘Nash. Good luck today!

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I’m on it – good write-up and good luck.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Cheers Mr F/Liam…let’s hope the team from Ashton-Under-Lyne finish Ashton-Over-Goal Line ?

When I’m kicked out the Record you should definitely go for my job. Your headlines are better than mine.
Right, off to lunch to pay tribute to the former Mr Fixit.

    Indian I league
    Minerva Punjab vs East Bengal

East Bengal, the reigning Calcutta Football League (CFL) champions, will take on the I-League newbies Minerva Punjab FC at Ludhiana, Punjab, in a round five I-League clash on 29th January 2017.

The Guru Nanak Stadium will be witness to the efforts of Trevor Morgan’s uplifted Red and Golds as they seek a fourth consecutive win. They vanquished the defending I-League Champions Bengaluru FC in the last game and the British coach will want more of the same resolve and spirit. Mehtab Hossain’s form in midfield will be key after dominating the last game while the participation of Robin Singh, who scored his first goal after returning to Kolkata, will need to be decided upon. Also, Willis Plaza and Wedson Anselme will need to put their best shooting boots on, particularly the former who missed a host of chances in the previous game.

The home side, Minerva Punjab, sit at the bottom of the I-League table and desperately need a revival of some sort to kick-start their season. Three consecutive defeats have followed their opening weekend draw and they have the worst goal difference in the league. But, they are playing their first home game of the season and coach Surinder Singh will hope that might prove to be a catalyst for his side to improve their performances.

Bet To Consider – EAST BENGAL WIN ***

Pretty poor card but I have picked out an afternoon double which I posted last night.

    Charlton U23, Patrick U20 O2.5MG double 3 points @ 34/25 Bet 365

Out of Charlton’s 9 home games this season only 2 have had U2.5 (missing by 1 goal each time), all 9 of Ipswich’s away games have been O2.5. The reverse H2H fixture was 4-2 to Charlton.

8 out of 9 of Partick’s home fixtures have resulted in O2.5 (the exception being a 1-0 win v Celtic) 7 out of 8 of Dunfermline away fixtures have seen O2.5. H2H’s have seen 5 out of 7 provide O2.5 with 6/7 seeing BTTS.

Not looked at potential team news for these games but based on the stats looks like a shoe in ?

I like that in Hannover’s 25 games in all competitions this season, only two have failed to produce 2 or more goals (0-0 in December v Sandhausen in the league and 1-0 v Karlsruher also in Div 2) Bundesliga 2 resumes for them after a short break and the match goals should oblige us with at least 2.
Kingstonian haven’t enjoyed a home clean sheet in eight but have netted 11 times in the last 5 homes, blanking once. Opponents Wingate aren’t afraid to pot away and have done so in the last 8/9 on the road.
Jong Ajax are the league’s top scorers but of the top four teams in Eerste they have conceded the most. Visitors Almere, 3rd top scorers, have also conceded the most out of the top eight sides.

One to look at for any afternoon punters but low stakes essential – wasn’t intending to post this but having looked a little closer, it looks to have solid claims…

CHARLTON ATHLETIC U23 VS. IPSWICH TOWN U23 (13.0 KO):

English Development League 2 and top side Charlton take on joint second bottom Ipswich – once games in hand are evened up they’ll likely be sitting rock bottom.

Ipswich have just 2 wins in 9 and have conceded 3-3-3-1-3-2-3-3-4 goals during that spell!

The most recent H2H in November saw Charlton run out 2-4 away winners.

    Selections to consider:

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…5/4
    ?

    CHARLTON -1 H/CAP…23/20
    ?

    CHARLTON WIN & BTTS…13/8

Good luck if you have a go ?

A low stakes double – stats looks good but who knows given the league in question….had some joy a couple of weeks ago betting on a single goal in a match in the Ethiopian Premier. It’s generally a low scoring league and this game should be no exception. 8/9 of Bunna’s last matches have seen U2.5, whilst 7/9 of the away side have seen the same result. I don’t pretend to know anything about the teams players or how corrupt the referee is, but with stats like that I’m willing to risk a point. Curzon Ashton have been well covered on here today so I won’t elaborate further on that one:

Norbert Meiers first game as trainer for Kaiserslautern this evening, after being released from Darmstadt after 5 defeats in a row.
He did a good job with Armenia Bielefeld winning promotion from the 3rd division to the Second before leaving them for the foreamentioned Darmstadt.
Hanover are the highest scorers in the 2nd BL whilst FCK had the second best defence, letting in 15 goals in the First Round of the season.
Meier wants his new charges to be more clinical in front of goal, and in the head to heads in Hanover the Red Devils have managed to score more often than not.
I think Hanover will have to much firepower for them though and will run out winners here
Good value in the BTTS and the over 2,5 markets

Having a look at tonight’s fixtures and I think I’ll give the Oceania champions league preliminary rounds – who knows if a team from Afghanistan will triumph over a team from the Cook Islands (Puaikura v Lupe Ole Soaga – 2300) although for the night owls it may be worth keeping an eye on inplay for goals.

There’s a game in Bolivia which may be of interest – Club Universitario vs. Oriente Petrolero. in the last of the round 1 matches. I am hopeful that last seasons goal form carries over into this season with Club U going over in 5 of the last 6 homes and OP going over in 7 of last 8 aways.

O2.5 is 8/11 which is a little less than I would normally take, so I am going to keep an eye on this inplay and try and get 3 points on at evs or just below (depending on how the games looking).

The goal line is set at 2.5,3.0 (1.950)

A found an easy system to beat the booky study the full site pick out most popular game or Curzon pick out most popular bet ur btts +overs THEN GO AGAINST the stats and form and 70% of punters on site and bet the exact opposite lol.sure winner.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Often the way Jim – can’t legislate for some results…you’d have got a cracking price for 0-0.

10 to go and looks bleak alright.

    • jim burnside 7 years ago

100% hull the most popular bet in Britain tonight would b btts + over 2.5 goals.

    Hannover v Kaiserslautern Over 1.5 mgs (7.15pm)

It’s a bollix as I go a match goal short in Hannover. 25 (all comp) games bar two since August had seen 2+ mgs. They’ve got the pigging hat-trick tonight, the rotters.

  63. davros 7 years ago

Just about to start: CD UES v Dragon, UES last 6 homes have seen 30 goals in total!
    Over 2.5 is 19/20, over 3.5 @ 5/2 also worth a look?..

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

      Dave is great shout Sir.

    2-3 Match Goals

    2.10 (Bet Victor)

    ***LOST***

    • liamw 7 years ago

Very unlucky @wato mate, looked a winner all the way – I thought about covering with 4 minutes to go but left it in the end.

    • -wato- 7 years ago

@liamw I only realised after getting your message this morning that the 3rd and 4th goals came in 87 and 91 mins I was out last night and couldn’t follow the game. I would have been letting it run at that point too that one was very unlucky it’s happened a few times this season but also I have had a few late goals help me too so I like to think it evens itself out a bit over the longer term I haven’t had a chance to look at today’s games I’m not sure if I will be able to in work and hate not looking properly and throw away the small monthly profit I’ve managed to get to after a disaster start to the month lol will try my best to get something for today but if I don’t all the best whatever you are on today I will be keeping an eye out later

  65. davros 7 years ago

FULL HOUSE!!!! 19/20 and 5/2 winners, glad you we’re on Alex! ?

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

Top stuff man, – very good find based on those stats I could not resist

Perhaps a couple more goals to come ?

    • liamw 7 years ago

@davros thanks mate took O2.5 and BTTS in play at odds against in play before I headed to ma kip – nice to wake up to winners!

  66. alex_mufc83 7 years ago

Following on from Davros, I can see a couple more goals in this game with CD UES hating for blood after Dragon knicked a penalty and scored

    Over 5.5 mgs – 3.25
    1 POINT

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

      That should be *baying

    • davros 7 years ago

Hoping the Argies can nick a consolation as on Btts in that one!! 10 men though…

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

Yeah doesn’t look like happening but still time

I doubled up the CD game with the U20s both over 2.5 goals double in play

Very good evening. Might have to call it a night after these have finished tho

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

      WON ☺️

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

      WON

  67. davros 7 years ago

Yep, v generous odds I thought Alex? Should be another one too…

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

Very generous indeed given those consistent stats!

If you do a bit of research there are certain games in SA that are a gold mine. Good work man.

      Gone for a risky one to finish the night;

      Over 13 corners
      Over 4.5 goals

      Fiver returns 30

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

      WON

  68. davros 7 years ago

    3-2 now, maybe 1 more?

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

I think so and hope so !!

  69. davros 7 years ago

35 goals in last 7 homes now – and they play at home again this Thursday against Santa Tecla ❕❕

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

Yep they know how to find the net that’s for sure !

Cracking find Davros. Definitely will be following them from now on.

All came in bar the over 5.5mgs bet. Great stuff.

      Gonna hit the hay, cheers!

  70. davros 7 years ago

    Nice one mate!
