THE first Australian Open semi is a repeat of the last two Grand Slam finals as Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer battle for supremacy on Wednesday night.
Djokovic has taken the honours on both occasions, tying the head-to-head record at 22 wins apiece, yet William Hill are reporting punters piling into Fed.
They've trimmed the Swiss master from 3-1 to 9-4 after 73% of all bets taken on the match were for the No.3 seed.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said: “Roger is always well supported but we have been surprised how one-sided the betting is.”
Djokovic, who beat Federer to lift the Tour Finals title in December after losing to him in the group stage, is 38-100 at Sportingbet. Six of their last seven Grand Slam meetings have gone to at least four sets and over 3.5 tonight pays 8-15 at bet365.
In the first women's semi-final there looks to be no stopping Serena Williams, who is 1-6 at Paddy Power to defeat an opponent she's never lost two in eight previous matches, Agnieszka Radwanksa, the 28-5 underdog at Marathonbet.

Sassari have signed Tony Mitchell for the remainder of the season. Former Trento player with an average 20.1 ppg, 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists. I think Mitchell could win this for Sassari if he delivers these kind of averages today.
Another to consider is Unics Kazan to cover -6.5 @ 17/20. They are in great form and seem to be on fire from the 3-pointer range.
Also, over 80 first half points @ 20/23 points also looks great considering both teams are very offensive and scored 97 points in the previous H2H.

As I have been saying, the Australian Open is getting harder to find value as the tournament nears the finish, it’s semi final time and the interesting match in the Ladies Singles is Johanna Konta against Angelique Kerber
One interesting stat for this match is Kerber has broken her opponents serve at least five times in every match, this becomes even more impressive when you hear she has only been taken to three sets once
The main reason for this is because she can punish the second serve.
For Konta to win this match she has to serve well, she has a lot of double faults because she doesn’t hold back with her second serve,
I looked into the double faults for both players and it’s pretty even which shocked me but Kerberos has had most of hers in the last two games, I think this can be put down to the player tightening up
Konta’s percentage of first serve points won is better than Kerber at 74%’to 67% but the impressive part of that stat is that in Konta’s last game it was up to 79%
Kerber has been getting worse in her last two games for first serve percentage at 56% & 58%
I think Angelique Kerberos has been getting too much praise for beating Azarenka,
Yes it was a good result against a player who was tipped by many to win the title, but as Azarenka has said herself, she put herself in to winning positions but she didn’t put enough in and said everything was a bit flat
Nerves will get to both players and it’s just who handles it better, but I do think Konta is priced too high

Serena has won even game so far 2-0 and is simply too good for the competition so I expect another 2-0 victory.
I fully expect GSW to come out early and blow Dallas away so they can rest up in the second half with the game in the bag. Dallas are also missing some key players for tonights game.
Spurs are on fire at the minute excluding the blow out at GSW earlier this week. However, with Houston’s awful defensive record I expect the Spurs to score the 110 points needed to bring this home.

Federer v Djokovic , don’t think I can ever bet sensibly when Federer plays , heart always rules the head,
Federer playing Djokovic in semi and not a final will make a difference as Federer will not be nervous like he is in a final, the last Wimbledon and U.S. Open final Federer has had nerves and loses the opening set with a load of errors.
In 2012 the last slam he won at Wimb, he beat djoko in the semi and he played freely and never got tight, Federer will be relaxed and 7/4 for the first set seems like the bet value bet.
One point on that and one point on Federer outright,
Just checked the weather , the roof most likely closed, defo in Djokovics favour as it won’t be warm, ie slow court, however gonna have faith in federer, would make my year if he grabs this Aussie open
