I WAS pleased the Scottish Cup fivefold I posted on Tuesday was sealed by Celtic’s win against Albion Rovers.

I got a little bit of stick for putting up an even-money five-timer but if you can double your money on what looked a dead cert it can’t be sniffed at. The five teams won by a combination of 21-1 – Hibs the only side to concede in their 8-1 defeat of Bonnyrigg who were awarded a dodgy penalty.

As I said the other day I put up a variety of bets and I hope the person who moaned about me not going for up bigger odds was on the 8-1 and 9-2 winning accumulators on Saturday.

As for my other bets yesterday the Top Treble won at 11-4 while the Super Single – Celtic -3AH – was void thanks to Stuart Armstrong’s late goal but a second one on Pierre-Emerick Aubayemang to score for Gabon was a loser as the hosts crashed out of AFCON.

My App Daily Double won for the fifth day running and even the members only Bet of the Day came in but there’s nothing on those today.

Jordan again had a good Sunday and well done to everyone who contributed winners.

Monday is extremely quiet so AFCON takes centre stage. Senegal have already qualified so will rest players for their final group match against Algeria who need a win to have any chance of making it through. The other match sees Zimbabwe face Tunisia and both sides must take three points to guarantee qualification.

There should be goals in the Senegal game and with over 1.5 paying nearly 1-2 I’m putting that on a treble. While i believe Tunisia will win I’m instead adding Besiktas at Alanyaspor in the Turkish league.

A win will put Besiktas top ahead of Istanbul and they’ve lost just once this season. Lowly Alanyaspor went down 5-1 to Galatasaray before the break and returned with a 3-2 defeat at home to Rizespor.

There’s no record of any Besiktas trips to Alanyaspor but they won 4-1 at home earlier this season. Besiktas have returned with two wins and should make it three in a row but of course the odds of 4-9 are pretty short.

Make it a treble with both to score at Jong Ajax v Almere. Seven of the last eight meetings between the sides have brought up this market and while Almere are big underdogs their last five matches, including one friendly, have totalled 25 goals.

It could have been a no bet day but with accumulators 26pts up for the month I’m happy to risk 2pts.

If anyone wants to leave out the early Besiktas match the later double pays evens at bet365.

I haven’t posted many Aussie Open tennis tips – more to do with the timings of the matches – but I’m posting a Super Single on Mischa Zverev to take at least a set off Roger Federer in their quarter-final.

Zverev played brilliantly to KO Andy Murray and while it’s asking a lot for him to repeat the display against new tournament favourite Fed he should at least a avoid a straight-sets defeat. At over evens to win a set it’s worth taking.

Murray may be out but there is one Brit left in the tournament and that’s Jo Konta who now faces Serena Williams for a place in the semis. Konta’s been brilliant the whole tournament and if she plays her best will have a chance to take the top seed’s scalp. Again she should win a set and that’s 8-13 at Paddy Power for anyone interested.

Remember to check out WeLoveBetting for their tips and video chat and they’re the go-to site for Africa Cup of Nations tips.

Mr F….cant believe I cashed out on a 65-1 winning bet when arsenal conceded..needing arsenal to win and thinking thats it… took my stake back on a reasonable cash out available in the 95th min….then immediately got the penalty in the 97th minute! Distraught is how I feel as the remains games of btts in the KV game in belgium, Roma, barca Chelsea and benfica all came in….with Southampton, sevilla, juve, leverkusen, monaco and inter already in the bag….
well played this weekend mr f and onto tomorrow!

    unlucky alex, commiserations mate.

There’s an Aussie friendly at 8am that looks great for goals. I’ll be on o1.5 fh and o3.5 mgls:

West Adelaide vs. Adelaide Cobras 8am:
    O1.5 FHGLS @ Evens
    O3.5 MGLS @ 4/5

Good luck all tomorrow, it’s been a great weekend on here. Well done Mr F, guaranteed to finish the month with a nice profit now!

I hadn’t planned on betting on the Costa Rican game but can’t miss gilt-edged opportunities when they come along…

    CARTAGINES VS. SAPRISSA (IN-PLAY):

Saprissa continue their horror-show and predictably have just gone down to 10 men.

Cartagines already 2 up and altbough I’m not a fan of ‘lumping on’ and certainly not encouraging it, that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

With the players they have I can’t believe the state Algeria find themselves in. BTTs and overs tomorrow I think but African nations is a mare to bet on so it be small stakes.
Also Slimani is well due a goal with his ratio.

    Morning gents,

I’ve only ever seen a more uninspiring card once before and that was the one I received back from Mrs Hull on Valentines Day last year.

To be honest, I hadn’t managed to get the exact pair of Oven Gloves I’d wanted for her, but they were still decent ones.

Only one game that has limited appeal and won’t be in ’til later so will put thoughts up now…

DEPORTIVO CAPIATÁ VS. DEPORTIVO TÁCHIRA (22.15 KO):

Capiata love a few goals and whilst Tachira aren’t quite at the same level, the Venezualans know how to find the net!

    One selection:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…15/8
    🌟🌟🌟

Best of luck with all bets 👍

Seen better cards in the reduced section of Clintons…

Very small interest, no wait, minute in-fact. Only because he was such a goal machine for our old Swedish friends Djurgarden before weirdly jetting off to China to play in the second division? Must have been the spring rolls?

Nyasha Mushekwi is Zimbabwe’s main man and scored in the 2-2 draw against Algeria. That’s basically all I’ve got 👍 They lost 2-0 against Senegal who are the competition favourites and still had 14 attempts at goal. I’ve called this competition the Africa Cup of Corruption in the past because some of the reffing is diabolical, and some of the pitch surfaces are on par with your average council estate green patch. As MR F says, both teams need to go for it so I’ll risk a point on Nyasha.

Am I right in thinking head to head comes into play if teams are tied in the African nationzzzzzzzz cup.
If so a Tunisia draw v Zimbabwe puts Algeria out.
Once news comes through that Tunisia are winning if that happens a unmotivated Senegal and a hacked off Algeria game could end in farce with neither side being bothered to attack.

Bit like the rest of the tournament really.

“I want to live forever,” I said.
“Sorry,” said the fairy, “I’m not allowed to grant wishes like that.”
“Fine,” I said, “I want to die when Liverpool win the premier league.”

Mr. F. your 5 fold even money acc. was as good if not better super single you’ve posted all season, so well done.
I bet the same 5, -1 handicap for a 9/2 acc. but had to settle for 7/2 as I couldn’t trust Stenny not to concede a late goal on Sat. and Celtic leaving it late yesterday.

    Belgian Reserve League (6.30 pm)

Start of a new season so not much to go on, but always a goal laden league.

    O2.5 mgls double pays evens:
    Gent
    Oostende

    O2.5 mgls treble pays 2/1:
    Zulte
    Genk
    Oostende

…but any could be good – its just picking them! I might try tiny stakes on fourfolds (35 bets, 0.1 of a point or less so 3.5 points total), and half a point on on the 7 fold which pays 12.4/1

Nice and early for this one:
Liverpool v Wolves, Sat 28th, FA Cup 4th Round, BT Sport

Wolves travel to Anfield in good spirits. An upturn in form in the league (with the exception of Saturday) and a recent win at Stoke in the previous round means they can go to Anfield with no fear and being roared on by 8,300 Wolves fans who will be sure to make some noise to get behind their lads.
Liverpool needed a replay to see off Plymouth which represented their only win of 2017. A shocking result at the weekend at home to Swansea will leave the Anfield crowd demanding more from their cup games.
Liverpool have a semi-final on Wednesday against Southampton so their focus will be the on this game as they try to overturn a 1-0 defeat from the first leg. The potential is there for extra-time and penalties which will only add to the headache for the Wolves game.
I would presume Klopp will go with a strong eleven for the Saints game which would presumably entail several changes for the Wolves clash.
Already the alarm bells are ringing. All of this week Wolves will be focused for the big Anfield clash as Klopp’s boys have their focus elsewhere.
The odds of 12/1 for Wolves to prevail over a Liverpool reserve team sounds massive. Whatever team Klopp goes with on Saturday Wolves will compete and they will scare Liverpool with the pace of Costa and Cavaleiro on the counter attack. Get on early as I feel Wolves odds will creep down as the week goes on. Particularly if Liverpool encounter a long night on Wednesday.

    Tips:
    Wolves to win, 12/1

May I add as a Wolves fan. Helder Costa on his day has been sensational. He’s only on loan at Molineux and Wolves have already said that there is an agreement in place to sign him but that will only happen in the unlikely event that Wolves get promoted. He’s already being looked at by top clubs around Europe and the Premiership and this is the kind of game he will turn up in. At Anfield in front of the cameras. This is his time to shine and make a name for himself.

I give wolves a chance,no chance, klopp will name a strong side for this game i am sure of that with it been at anfield, leeds said the same thing when they went to anfield and leeds went home with their tails between their legs just like wolves will do,liverpool’s poor results are down to the fact that he played reserves v plymouth and as for southampton thats a tough venue for any team to go to,the swansea result was freak to say the least,You say that wolves will compete with costa and caveleiro i have one problem with that for one you need the ball first which it will be highly inlikely for wolves to have and secondly wolves need to compete with world class players such as roberto firmihno and coutihno,i know swansea got their win but to lose to wolves in the space of a week ha i doubt that will happen not at anfield anyway.

        • Profile photo of craigyboy
          craigyboy 11 months ago

So do you propose Klopp will be naming full strength sides for both Wednesday and Saturday? Can’t see it. Klopp likes to mix his team around. Granted, he will make less changes for the Wolves game then he did with Plymouth but I assure you he won’t be fielding the same eleven as he does on Wednesday.

When you have pace on the wings you don’t need the ball. Wolves will sit in and wait for the chance to counter.

I’d give Liverpool a strong chance of beating Southampton on Wednesday possibly by one goal, taking it to extra time.

My point is at 12/1 Wolves are massive especially when you consider Liverpool’s poor form and extra game on Wednesday. I’m pretty sure Plymouth weren’t much bigger than that.

Klopp will more than likely go with the same team that plays wednesday, wolves are not massive at 12/1 i assure you there isn’t many teams that go to anfield and come away with anything let alone a championship side, don’t be fooled by liverpool’s recent blip they don’t usually lose two home games on the trot,i understand your point but 12/1 for wolves to win is not massive and if liverpool fans are in full voice you won’t here the wolves fans.I won’t be betting on this game but my advice would be to keep your money in your pocket especially now steven gerrard is coaching the youths.

@craigyboy,I understand your enthusiasm and excitement at your team going to Anfield thats great as it is the fa cup and strange things can happen but if liverpool were to lose then klopp would be needing to take a step back and have a look at himself.

I know where you’re coming from but look at Wolves’ defeat on Saturday.
They were improving under Lambert but for me 12-1 isn’t even big enough.
Bookies are saying Wolves will go to Anfield and win once in 13 attempts.
It might be one in 30.

If they were playing at wolves mr f liverpool would still be rightly favourites.i think 12/1 is poor for wolves i would want bigger also, 12/1 certainly flatters wolves and if klopp names a strong side an hour before kick off then wolves price will rise to probably 16 or 18/1.

As a wolves fan i totally agree that Helder will look to showcase himself. I also think that we have a tendency to raise our game when we’re not expected to get a result.

Do I think we will win? No
Will I have a fiver on us winning? Yeah it’s a bet from the heart.

However I think the evens on offer for us to score just a goal is very good and I’ll be backing either that or BTTS with 5 points.

Plymouth were 16/1 and got a 0-0 draw. I also forgot to add that Liverpool also face Chelsea three days after this FA Cup tie. No way will Klopp play a full strength side for potentially 300mins in six days. I respect everybodys opinion and I have no problem if people want to piss on my tip. I was laughed off here when I suggested Wolves could win away at Newcastle at 6/1 and I appreciate there’s a hell of a difference between Newcastle and Liverpool. I appreciate that Wolves are going to need a little bit of luck to get anything out of it but my opinion is that there’s a lot going against Liverpool. The only issue for Wolves is whether Ikeme gets his red card rescinded. If he doesn’t then it will enable rookie Burgoyne in goal but to be fair he’s been great whenever he’s been called upon.

Going to have a small punt on over 2 goal line the Plzen friendly. They’ve just vro got on Krmencik and Horava their two top scorers this season. They should be two strong for this chinese side, other european teams have faired pretty well against them.

    Kicking off at 15.30:
    UAE
    Al Ain v Al Jazira

Over 2.5 goals is currently 1/2 but the game should go over this. Was tempted to back 3 or 4 goals but it’s too risky in the UAE as goals can fly in here, there and everywhere.

I’ll be seeing if I can jump on over 2.5 at nearer evens during the game on Bet365.

    Pre-match I’m on:
Over 1.5 second half goals, 3/4
    Bet Victor

    Good Luck all.

Might be a bit of value in a game in the
    ENGLISH NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH.
    7.45
    HUNGERFORD VS WHITEHAWK
    Must be missing something but
Hungerford look a far better team on paper to Whitehawk.
    Last five Hungerford games
    1-1,2-2,4-1,2-2,&5-2
    2 wins, 3 draws
    Last five Whitehawk games
    0-2,2-4,0-1,1-3,1-4
    5 losses
    My first thoughts were goals
    Over 2.5 goals 4/7
    Over 3.5 goals 6/4
IMO the over 2.5 is generous.
I personally don’t see Whitehawk getting anything from this game.
Not usually a wdw punter but Hungerford 19/20 seems very generous.
So no wins in 6 for Whitehawk
No losses in 6 for Hungerford
    Obviously team news is vital.
Be nice to have some other views.
I know Hull and the likes love the national leagues for value.
    Hungerford & over 2.5 goals 17/10wh
    Or
Hungerford and over 3.5 goals 17/5 wh
    Could be options.
    Or a risky
    Hungerford -1 a risky 23/10
    Thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Will try n get team news before committing and post back

Robbie C – just in from work and hadn’t seen your post ’til just now…have put my thoughts beliw and closer inspection indicates it could well be worth a few dubloons – good luck pal 😃

HUNGERFORD TOWN VS. WHITEHAWK (19.45 KO):

Whitehawk have fallen on pretty poor form and perhaps won’t be relishing a trip to a Hungerford side that are not perfect but are dropping far fewer points.

The key between the two is that Whitehawk are conceding too many whilst Hungerford are scoring a good number per game…for the happy goals-punter that’s just great as it points to a potential high-scorer.

Goals per recent games looks like this:

    Hungerford: 4-7-5-4-2-1-6-6

    Whitehawk: 5-4-1-6-2-3-4-8

    Non-too shabby!

    Three selections to consider:

    OVER 2.5 MGS…8/13 (365)
    🌟🌟🌟🌟

    OVER 3.5 MGS…6/4
    🌟🌟
