THE Australian Open served up a thrilling Wednesday with Andy Murray turning Marinko “Mad Dog” Matosevic into a whimpering pooch and Rafa Nadal coming through an epic five-setter against  a no-hoper.

Murray was hugely impressive in demolishing Matosevic and is back on action in the Thursday night/Friday morning schedule against Portugal's world No.55 Joao Sousa. The Scot has won all three of their meetings in straight sets, including at the 2013 Aussie Open, and is 1-3 at Betfair to reach round four with 3-0 win.

Other notable matches include Andreas Seppi v Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych against Viktor Troicki and an all-Aussie cracker between Bernard Tomic (1-3, Betfair) and Samuel Groth (5-2, SportingBet).

In the women's singles, second seed Maria Sharapova, pushed to the  limit by Alexandra Panova who couldn't convert two match points in the last round, looks for less stressful progress against 31st seed Zarina Diyas of Kazakhstan.

Elsewhere on Thursday, golf's Qatar Masters reaches the halfway stage with England's Oliver  Fisher setting the early pace. And the Humana Challenge tees off in California with Patrick Reed, a 12-1 shot at Stan James, the favourite for glory.

There's also a fifth cricket ODI between New Zealand and Sri Lanka plus plenty of Stateside sport.

Good luck with your bets and post your sporting tips and chat here.

Im all in on lopez. Hoping his monster serve returns. Anyone agree??

  2. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

Ive just took Lopez 7/1 at a set and break down heres hoping for a comeback GL.

  3. Carlitos 9 years ago

Mannarino seems to have picked up an injury which badly hampered him in the tie-break in the 3rd…. could be worth having a look at backing Lopez in play here. Mannarino barely moving around the court off Lopez’s first service game of the set.

Also a four fold for this evening:

Madison Keys – serving really well and at a very good price.
Dominika Cibulkova – runner up last year, looked solid in the first round.
Victoria Azarenka – her pedigree in the majors is obvious. Impressive win over a below par Sloane Stephens and definitely more to come despite the injury lay off.
Coco Vandeweghe – huge price considering the fact she is in great form and Sam Stosur has a horrid record in Melbourne. Think this will be tight and can see Vandeweghe possibly nicking it.

  4. Ellis 9 years ago

Potentially the biggest swing of luck ive ever had mannarino was 1/1000 at one point

  5. Ellis 9 years ago

It makes it even better that i went sleep at 2-0 and 4-0 down and woke up to a win lol

  16. Attila 9 years ago

Was anyone actually on my tips? Hope I did t waste my time posting. Had some big winners…

    • ticketyboo 9 years ago

Hi Atilla unlike in Australia we cannot bet a team to win and to cover in a double this is seen as a clash of bets and is not allowed so we could only either bet the team to win or the spread but not both together i think that is why no one is commenting on your wins. Hope this clears the situation we are still following your naps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Attila 9 years ago

Hi Ticketyboo, same here. I cant actually manually do a double of the spread and the total. But my bookie produces the doubles in s different section as a ‘single’ predefined bet.
Does anybodys bookies in UK provide these pre-made doubles for NBA? Would hate to keep posting them if no one can actually get on, lol

    • Attila 9 years ago

Also Tickety, my bets aren’t to win and to cover. They are to cover spread and cover total points…

  17. Lloyd 9 years ago

I was on the Warriors tip – although at -6 – gut was also saying go with the double but having had an atrocious Christmas period and getting back on track – took it easy – been following your tips all month so far – keep it up

  18. tomtie 9 years ago

I took both your tips for the warriors game attila nice wee boost to the betting bank when i woke this morning. Keep up the good work☺

  19. tomtie 9 years ago

Attila i know bet 365 allows you to do a double with the point spread and total points as its a bet i normally do. Yesterday i done warriors on the handicap and the overs on the point spread as a double.

  20. Ad 9 years ago

Atilla. I’m not sure there’s ang need to cover….though I know that’s playing with Fire. Maybe wait for Wozniaki to look certain to cover her handicap (surely she will) and then just back Young @ 10/1 (or whatever price you can get in Australia) to beat Raonic

  21. Ad 9 years ago

If Azarenka wins this set by 2 games you can back her to win set 2 6-0 @ 40/1 and 6-1 @ 16/1. Those are the only two scores that can beat your +6.5 bet. If Wozniaki wins the set or Azarenka wins by any other score your bet lands.

  22. Attila 9 years ago

Ad – cheers mate for that info! Cant bet in play in Aus so ill just hope wozniaki keeps inside the 6.5 then throw a 5’er on Young.
Cant believe how well the Acca went, I’ve got you to thank AD! They were your tips, I just mixed and mashed em around a bit.
Only $3.50 but I put 5 points on it so a very decent teturn is looming :-)

    • Attila 9 years ago

*only $3.50 odds for the 14 fold I mean, which is low for such a big Acca but its all gone to plan

  23. timsmith1910 9 years ago

    Hi Attila,

I was on all your tips and Paddypower do offer the option to cover spread and points so killer night for me!thanks again!Big shout out to huggybear as well! have changed my whole betting style to singles and doubles!

  24. Ad 9 years ago

No worries mate. Just need Wozniaki to get 1 more game! And there it is! The only way she won’t cover the handicap now is if she wins this set 7-6 and loses the next 6-0……..I’m not one to count chickens before they hatch but…

    • Attila 9 years ago

Cheers AD, just threw a few $ on Young to win as a nice cover. Awesome. This makes a great day on the pint even better.
And thanks mate for helping me break my Tennis punting duck!

    • Ad 9 years ago

Haha no worries mate. A long overdue and well deserved win….enjoy!

  25. Ad 9 years ago

Azarenka is available @ 12/1 on betfair, maybe slightly higher elsewhere. Could well be worth taking. I foolishly included Ivanovic in my Womens pre tournament bets and Azarenka looks the best bet to replace her. If she plays like she did today she will beat Strycova and Cornet no problem and has every chance of getting the better of Serena to take the top quarter.

  26. Ad 9 years ago

Muller landed the upset @ 9/5 and all the favourite in my acca who have played so far have won. Kyrgios, Berdych, Dimitrov, Raonic, Halep and Peng remain from the 14. Over half way to another big winner.
If Vandeweghe beats Stosur it will have been another great day at the tennis. Come on Melbourne, keep being good to us!

Hi Ellis did you back Lopez to win. I got him at 7/1 when he was 2 sets down Mannarino wasnt injured at the time. Woke up and Mannarino retired ..so as bet365 rules the bet is void..which is fair enough. Who did you bet with?

  29. ticketyboo 9 years ago

Hya Atilla I bet with Hills & Corals the only bet they will give is a price for 2 teams grouped but not the bet you have, although it seems there bookies going by others on here who allow a variation of the bet.Keep giving us your Naps mate it’s good when you and Huggy’s naps differ then it gives the options of a double.Keep up the good tipping guy’s.

  32. Ad 9 years ago

Early favourites acca for the next round :

    Ferrer d Simon
    Venus d Giogri
    Nishikori d Johnson
    Radwanska d Lepchenko
    Wawrinka d Nieminen

Pays 2.8 at the moment. Odds may fall which is why I’m backing now. Not going too big as I haven’t looked into all of these matchups as closely as Id like yet, but on the face of it this should be pretty safe.

    • Attila 9 years ago

  33. Sam 9 years ago

Fantastic night on the tennis betting front last night.

A huge number of in plays landing along with a handful of losers meant it was a night of big profit.

Serena Williams to win 2-0, 300 GBP at 17/10 one of the better ones.

A fair few trebles and doubles on female players holding serve paid off.

    Also had 200 GBP on Chardy/Kubot, Babos/Mladenovic, Mattek-Sands/Safarova, Bopana/Nestor, Butorac/Groth and Lopez/Mirnyi which returned a nice 1000 GBP at 4/1.

90 GBP on Nieminen and Isner both to win the second set and Mahut/Herbet to win 2-0 paid 360 and there were plenty more.

Best bet by far was a 100 GBP 29/1 8-fold that I got very lucky with as Lopez was classed as a win. Had that in with Steve Johnson, Garcia-Lopez, Nieminen, Bacsinszky, Peya/Soares, Herbert/Mahut and Cabal/Farah.

Just one bet left today which is the only one I posted pre match. 100 GBP staked on Cibulkova, Azarenka and Vandeweghe all to win at 9.8/1.

Hoping to take last nights form in to tonight!

  34. Sam 9 years ago

    IN PLAY

Vandewehe to win first set and Raonic -6.5 @ 6.8/1

    Stake limited to 88 GBP.

  35. Ellis 9 years ago

    The wet lettuce

888sport pal so was very happy to see the cash roll in. We got away with murder anyway. At mannarino 1/1000 i would have settled for void bet lol

  36. Sam 9 years ago

Cheeky in play is a loss, needed Raonic to break quickly and take the set at least 6-2.

But Vandeweghe is a break up in the first for the last bet :)!

  37. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

Nice one Ellis. I will start using 888sport for my Tennis bets..congrats mate.

  38. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

I need to start posting my inplay bets. Had Becker when he was set down double with Ad and others tip of Vandewenge which is looking in…pays 71

  39. Ellis 9 years ago

    The wet lettuce

There site and prices are hardly outstanding but i like there promotions aswell e.g money back if nba games go to overtime

  40. Sam 9 years ago

The Wet Lettuce, Betfair also settled Lopez as a win if that’s of any interest to you.

  41. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

Cheers Sam had Lopez £5 on at 7/1. Money back typical. Think i will just use bet365 for footy bets from now. Thanks.

  42. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

After a quick browse. It seems Tennis is the sport where individual bookies have different rules the most.

I choose the wrong bookie..never mind.

  43. Attila 9 years ago

    **14 Fold Tennis Acca @ $3.60 I posted earlier is a WINNER**

  44. Sam 9 years ago

Wet Lettuce, you’re right. Various rules about, some require a set to be completed before settling a ‘Winner’, others void no matter what, others will settle the winner as the player that didn’t retire no matter what.

  45. Sam 9 years ago

Vandeweghe is now a break up in the second. Cash out at 778 but the way she is serving I am definitely letting it run. Superb performance by Coco. Buzzing!

  46. Jordan 9 years ago

    GSW ML – WIN
    76ers over 87.5 – WIN
    Wizards over 97.5 – WIN

@ 11/10 **WIN** (Covered on Houston @ 10/1 at HT)

Just a little £20 bet following the trend tonight. No tip but if you like it a fiver might not hurt.

    Memphis Grizzlies ML – WIN
New Orleans Pelicans ML – WIN
    Phoenix Suns ML – WIN
Golden State Warriors ML – WIN
Oklahoma City Thunder/Washington Wizards Over (197.5) – WIN IN OT

    Philadelphia 76ers Over (87.5) – WIN

    GET IN THERE COCO!

A lovely 9.8/1 treble lands to go with the 30/1 8-fold as Azarenka, Cibulkova and Vandeweghe all win.

    Unbelievable day.

Would love to have known the price on all three players winning in straight sets.

    • Carlitos 9 years ago

Sam – Fantastic tipping! Had your three fold with Madison Keys last night as well as a long odds acca which came in! Happy Days! Apart from Mannarino an excellent day of tennis all round

  48. Attila 9 years ago

Again – great stuff Jordan! Was a good day all round :-)

  49. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

Well done Sam, Attila and Jordan with your recent wins. Extra special thanks to another Huggybear SS the man is unreal.

I just put £2 on Coco Vandewenge reaching the final at 50/1. The way she played then..it could happen with lots of seeds gone.

  53. Ad 9 years ago

The Australian Open- the gift that keeps on giving!

Coco joins Muller on last night’s overpriced outsider winners list.

I’m looking forward to posting a weekly recap of my tips tomorrow. Barring a disaster tonight, it’s going to make for smoe pretty reading!

Great to see so many winners from people on here. And not a BOOM in sight!

Janowicz d Lopez @ 4/6. Getting on this quick as I think it’ll come down. Lopez has been very average recently and is only still alive because of Mannarino getting injured. Janowicz is playing pretty well from what i can tell, and while it’s never sensible to put too much money on him as he’s a bit of an enigma, he really should be able to hit his way past Lopez.

  54. GruntBunny 9 years ago

Huggybear – Great tipping. You’ve got to keep going! Been on each of the last 14 and have turned a nice profit. Looking forward to the SS tonight. Cheers.

  55. Ad 9 years ago

Paddy Power who are offering those odds, which are best across the board, also refund losing bets as a free bet if the player wins the first set but goes on to loose. Makes it a little safer which is always nice when Janowicz is involved!

  56. ticketyboo 9 years ago

@ Jordan good picking there mate I done the 1st three but don’t know if you added the others later or I’m needin a white stick.lol!!!!!

    • Jordan 9 years ago

  57. recoba1980 9 years ago

    GS warriors -8
    WS Wizards +1.5
    ATL Hawks -6.5. :)

  59. sidslick 9 years ago

    @huggybear

Keep going, your tipping is amazing.

    Thanks for all the winners.

  60. Ad 9 years ago

I also like Gasquet to beat Anderson 1/2. Playing very well so far this year, bar a poor showing against Berdych. He has a good record against Anderson and should get past him. Like with Janowicz though, not someone I trust quite enough to lump on.

    Gasquet
    Janowicz
    Dimitrov
    Kyrgios
    Radwanska
    Wawrinka
    Nishikori
    Venus
    Azarenka

Pays 7.7 and should give anyones tenner a run for it’s money.

  61. huggybear 9 years ago

THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS ABOUT TONIGHTS GAMES , WHATS YOURS?

spurs are 9 3 up in chicago and making a charge , cant see the 6 being too hard to cover

mikwaukee bucks can see them getting the 8 against utah

boston games lately are under the spread so i`m thinking u203

brooklyn take a very good record at los angeles and i`d take the plus 12 on offer

TONIGHTS SUPER SINGLE IS BUCKS -8 (13/15 HOPEFULLY)

GOOD LUCK IF YOUR ON !!

  62. Furthermore 9 years ago

    @ Ad

I have a question to you. I have a 12fold on yesterday which returns a lot of money and the last 3 matches that has left is

    T.Berdych – T.Berdych v V.Troicki – Match Betting 1.17 Open
    N.Kyrgios – M.Jaziri v N.Kyrgios – Match Betting 1.17 Open
    G.Dimitrov – M.Baghdatis v G.Dimitrov – Match Betting 1.20

they all are heavy favourites like you mentioned in yesterdays thread and all of them have good h2h stats against their opponents.

so do you think they all will win? i just want to hear your opinion as you are the expert in tennis here and im not going to cover or anything, will let it run through. Does any of their opponents have good serve?

  63. Ad 9 years ago

Forgot to add, Vamdeweghe d Brengle looks good too @ 11/17. Won their last two matches in straight sets and Brengle has played loads of tennis recently

  66. aj 9 years ago

Sorry if anyone has posted this already, tonight paddy power have enhanced Murray and Federer to both win 3-0 tonight too 8/11 (just over 1/2/ elsewhere).

    Murray v Sousa

These two have met 3 times prior to tonight, Murray has won all 3 in straight sets.

    Federer v Seppi

These two have met 10 times already, Fed has won every time. In those 10 matches, Fed has only dropped 1 set to Seppi.

  67. Ad 9 years ago

Good shout aj. I was going to put up a straight sets post soon, hasn’t seen that offer though. I dot really know what PP are doing with their price boosts. They are picking winners for us! Could go tits up of course, but like the williams sisters double, too good to ignore.

    • aj 9 years ago

Ad – Personally I would be surprised if this doesn’t win but I suppose anything can happen. Stats suggest it should be fine though. Murray’s been playing good tennis recently as well.

I was on the Williams sisters last night, however the bet was restricted and it is restricted again tonight. Is this the same for yourself?

Also on Huggybears tip of Bucks -8 at Paddys 10/11

    • Ad 9 years ago

I think PowerPlays are limited to £20. Not sure about that, but that’s all I put on thinking that was the case.

  68. Iddy 9 years ago

Furthermore – I would let it run.
Kyrgios/ Dimitrov should both win. Troicki, pardon the pun, could be a tricky opponent for Berdych, but berd should win it.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Agree with Iddy. It’s not really possible to cover unless you back the underdog in all of them as a single. If one does screw it up its hard to say which it will be. Troicki probably does pose the biggest threat but Berdych in 4 is as close as Id expect him to get. If Baghdatis plays a blinder he could cause Dimitrov a few problems, but I don’t think its very likely he will actually play well enough for long enough to do that. It would also require a poor showing from Grigor. Jaziri doesn’t have much to hurt Kyrgios in that matchup as far as I can see. He might be able to keep it tight and earn a tiebreak or two, but even if that did happen Kyrgios has the big advantage of crowd support and his ability to deliver his huge serve under pressure.

  70. Gogi 9 years ago

Huggy i’m taking your SS and adding Celtics +8.
    Good luck everyone.

  71. James 9 years ago

Federer in four tonight – would steer clear of the straight sets. I do expect Murray to muller his oppo though, it’s a total mis-match.

  72. Ad 9 years ago

James- if you think Fed might drop a set but Murray 3-0 is safe then why not put £20 on the double @ 8/11 and also back Fed 3-1 @ 9/2. Win Win.

There is a chance Rog could drop one, I agree, but Seppi Federer is just as much of a mismatch. Better serve, better forehand, better backhand, better net-play, better slice, better movement, better defence, better psychologically. Complete missmatch!

  73. huggybear 9 years ago

Jordan, thechief and the rest of the NFL crew – what bets are we liking for the Super Bowl? I’ve not been keeping up with the NFL for the past month or so and j only just found out that it was Patriots v Seahawks in the final the other day haha!

  79. jimba 9 years ago

Huggy on -8 bucks and celtics game under 203, sound double i think, good luck all tonight!!

  80. Jordan 9 years ago

Taking your picks but simplifying them Huggy.

    Bucks -3.5
    Spurs ML

    @ EVS (50% Stake)

    Adding Clippers over 100.5 points @ 16/10

    Both at WillHill

    • Jordan 9 years ago

25% stake on the 16/10. Not sure whether the Clippers will go hard but the Nets have kept games close recently so Griffin should see 35+ minutes. Clippers have had a 3 day rest and the Kings picked up 100 against the Nets last night. LA are the 4th highest scoring team with the Kings ranked 12th.

Im on anderson to beat gasguet tonight. My friend said he was playing really great stuff against schwartzman. Also gonna try one of these short favourites bets as they seem to be going well. Vandeweghe, kyrgois, serena and raonic, looks like it has a good chance. Good luck everyone

  83. James 9 years ago

Ad – I’ve gone Fed and Muzza to both win 3-0 as you advised and lumped a couple of other bankers in, to boost the odds to evens.

Gasquet v Anderson is an interesting one. Anderson, despite their head-to-head record, has to be overpriced. Gasquet is fragile and Anderson has improved, slowly but surely. That could be the ‘upset’ tonight.

    • Ad 9 years ago

I certainly wouldn’t advise anyone to lump on Gasquet, he’s not really banker material. But it’s a matchup that seems to work out well for him. He’s also been impressive when I’ve seen him recently. Though I haven’t watched Anderson’s recent matches. If Anderson plays a really aggressive match then he does have a good chance, but I have a feeling he’ll let Gasquet extend the rallies and move him round a little too much for comfort. Willing to concede this one could go tits up, but for me he’s multiple material. If anyone likes Anderson though, take him. It wouldn’t exactly be a huge surprise to see him do it.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Good luck James. I do think Fed and Muzza will both win 3-0 and I’ve taken that PP special on. The stake limit is irrelevant for me really as set betting isn’t something I wouod ever really put a large stake in anyway. I think you’re right to say Fed might be the one to bust it if it does go wrong, but hopefully he stays switched on all match and tries to get off court as quick as he can.

Good to see Janowicz’ odds coming down. Best price of 4/7 now and 4/9 with bet365! My confidence is growing.

Blimey Chip you missed the best game of the season on Sunday! http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000460343/NFC-Championship-Packers-vs-Seahawks-highlights

At first thought’s I’m thinking Seattle. They are now 1.5 point underdogs in some places which I think is a gift. Patriots obviously very attacking, but a stat I’ve read, the last time the best defense went up against the best attack in a Superbowl, was last year. What happened I hear you ask? Seattle blew the attacking team away (Denver and Peyton Manning) 43-8. It’s Seattle for me. Not brilliant markets available as yet but I’ll wait till game day.

I think it could be worth having another little go on Gulles Muller again. 8/5 to beat Isner. This is surely going to be an incredibly close match littered with tie-breaks and very few, if any, breaks of serve.
Isner leads the head to head 3-0 but all their matches have been very tight. They’ve also all been in America, where Isner always does miles better than he does anywhere else in the world. Muller seems to be in the form of his life and is serving better than ever. It will likely come down to the odd point here or there, and I think theres some value in backing Muller to win those few @ 8/5.

  89. Jordan 9 years ago

Just seen one of the funniest markets in my life. NFL followers might have a giggle. You can bet on who the Superbowl MVP will thank first. BASKETBALL GAME PLAN FOR TODAY:

    – SS/NAP: Nets +12.0 @ $1.92 (5 pts)

    – DOUBLE: Spurs -6.0, Celtics/Portland UNDER 203.5 @ $3.68 (2.5 pts)

    – 5 FOLD (NBA & NCAA): Bucks ML, Spurs ML, Portland ML, Notre Dame ML, Arkansas ML @ $3.50 (2.5 pts)

Nets have a sensational record ATS in this matchup, and with Clippers poor defense I feel the 12 points is a gift.
Spurs should easily cover the 6 points at Bulls as they’ve hit great form whilst Bulls are going the opposite way.
Celtics after trading Rondo & Green are not scoring like they used to, & with Aldridge out for Portland I can see this game going under 200, and Portland should win but I think Celtics will keep it close.
Bucks will beat Jazz, but personally I feel Jazz may stay within the spread so Bucks at the ML is the most I’m willing to go.
As for the 2 College B’Ball games, both are in top form form & should dispose of opponents easily.

    GL today guys!

  93. Carlitos 9 years ago

Anyone had a look at tonight’s tennis? Thus far I’ve had a look and come up with the following short odds favourites acca:

    Dimitrov
    Berdych
    Murray (-1.5 sets)
    Federer (-1.5 sets)
    Kyrgios
    Nadal
    Bouchard
    Halep
    Sharapova
    J Murray / J Peers
    Mirza / Hsieh

For a riskier Acca I’m also looking at:

    Errani
    Goerges
    Peng
    Begu
    Pliskova

    Any thoughts on the above?

    Cheers

    • Ad 9 years ago

Carlitos- I’m really not sure about Pliskova, and i’m not sure about Begu either. And Sharapova’s a little short for me after her near exit in the last round. I’m also not touching Nadal till the French open! Other than that, looks good to me. Bouchard’s also a tad short for my tastes actually, as Garcia is dangerous and I haven’t seen Bouchard play yet this week. She should win though of course.

    • Carlitos 9 years ago

Ad – Cheers for the feedback, much appreciated. I may have a look at the spread for game’s as even though I believe Rafa will win this in 3/4 sets tonight I see them all being quite competitive sets.

Pilskova and Begu are just fancies I have. Watched them both play this week and was very impressed with how composed they were. May have a look at the handicaps and see if there’s a better option there!

    • realwalker 9 years ago

      Im on berdych,murray 3-0, federer and dmitrov -1.5,kygrios,bouchard,venus,sharapova,murray/peers 9fold.
      Pays 51/10.
I think its worth a tenner for some interest.
Im on the bucks-7.5 at EVS and spurs-6 at 21/20.
Thanks to the tips on here.
      Best of luck everyone.

    Cycling: Tour Down Under 2015

    Stage 4

Looks like a sprint stage today. There will be a break away without a doubt, but the sprinter teams don’t want another surprise like they had in stage 1 when the didn’t caught them in time.

    Match-up double, winner in capitals:

    MARCEL KITTEL v Giacomo Nizzolo
STEELE VON HOFF v Wouter Wippert
Double @ 2.59 with William Hill

I doubt that Kittel is at his best, but when he is there in the end (with his lead-out) he is the man to beat. He was with the first pack in stage 1 and he should to get to the final tomorrow. Nizzolo looks worse, he finished 6 mins behind in the stage 1 and lost 13 mins in the second stage. In the third he was the last guy to finish.

Von Hoff did well in sprint stage 1, he was the 5th sprinter to cross the line behind the 4 guys of the break away. In the other 2 stages he did ok and finished somewhere in the middle of the field. Wippert had a nice 3rd place in the classic before the TDU, but when the real racing started we haven’t seen him anymore. He was not sprinting along in the first stage (27th) and was with the very last in the other two stages.

  95. Attila 9 years ago

@ AD – mate, what you think of the following 9 fold on today’s games. Any bogies in there?

    Gasquet
    Kyrgios
    Dimitrov
    Sharapova
    Halep
    Nadal
    Federer
    Berdych (2.5)
    Tonic (3.5)

    Pays just over $3.00

  96. Ad 9 years ago

Given Nadal’s recent struggles and the way that everyone he comes up against seems to play the match of their lives when they know he’s vulnerable, I’m going to have to back Dudi Sela to win + 8.5 game handicap @ 4/5.

  97. Ad 9 years ago

Looks pretty good Atilla. I personally like Gasquet in this one but a few others on here have said they fancy Anderson and it definitely seems the riskiest of all those picks. One i’m risking myself though! Nadal I won’t back except in-play if he starts slowly, because he is a little off just now, but it’s a bit of a stretch to think he will actually lose.

  98. Attila 9 years ago

Gasquet +4.5 brings it down to $2.50. Think he can stay within that spread? Might just toss Nadal as well, odds are so low don’t want an upset on such a short price ruining it all.

  99. Ad 9 years ago

Well I think Gasquet will win the match so yep I think he will make that spread! Murray 3-0 is another option. He has played 7 sets against Sousa and won them all comfortably. Hard to see him dropping one today.

    Hi all tipsters,

Best congrats to SAM tennnis tipster, i was on ur treble Cibulkova, Azarenka and Vandeweghe all to win at 9.8/1. What a night, so many bets came up to you and pretty sure u have healthy profit in-play and even pre-match.
Any thoughts on women tennis tonight? Looks not bad treble k.pliskova, l.hradecka, y.wickmayer 17/1 (a bit riskie, but tixie possible)

Also AD good tipster, good write-ups, but noticed somehow he manages to choose wrong winners(no offence).

Peace to you all and all the best huggybear with NBA Super single streaks(basketball professor:)))

    • Ad 9 years ago

None taken! Though I don’t know what you mean by wrong winners. As in outright tournament winners?

  102. Attila 9 years ago

HUGGY – not opposing your SS mate, just choosing not to take it ;-) I hope you’re right mate, its just Jazz are really good at covering against middle class teams normally. Bucks will win tho
Hope another successful day is on the cards :-) G’Luck man!

  103. Ad 9 years ago

I think Makarova is going to beat Pliskova, but it’s not a tip nor a bet that deserves much of a stake on it.

  104. Sam 9 years ago

Ad, I need a second opinion. I fancy Dimitrov 3-0, thoughts?

  105. Sam 9 years ago

Really tempted by Dimitrov, Murray, Federer all to win 3-0 at 2.25/1

    • Ad 9 years ago

I say go for it if you really fancy it but don’t go crazy. Only needs one of them to switch off for ten minutes and a set could go like that. Im looking at Dimitrov mainly! Though I’ve got Fed in my periphery too!

  106. Ad 9 years ago

Good chance Sam but Dimitrov 3-1 wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve just got him in accas for the straight win.

  107. Attila 9 years ago

I’ve gone with the following in Tennis today:

    Gasquet (4.5)
    Murray 3-0
    Kyrgios
    Dimitrov
    Sharapova
    Halep
    Federer
    Berdych (2.5)
    Tomic (3.5)

9 FOLD pays odds of $2.51 (6 pts on)

  108. Sam 9 years ago

Backed Dimitrov and Errani to take the first set and Murray/Peers to win to keep me interested in the early games. Just over evens.

Also backed Pliskova v Makarova, Hradecka v Goerges and Errani v Wickmayer to be 1-1 after 2 games and Berdych v Troicki to be 2-2 after 4 games at 7/1 on Paddy Power.

  109. Attila 9 years ago

Always the way. Took my NAP of Nets +12.0, now its +13.5. Always works against me!
Updated NAP from my Game Plan is now Nets +13.5

  110. Sam 9 years ago

I tell a lie, that first treble mentioned pays just over 2/1

  111. eastcoaster 9 years ago

    Ad

I’m coming on here especially for your tips and keep them going as your write ups are second to none and even out with the ozzy open I’m hoping you can keep doing daily bets for the other tournaments and challenger matches etc. Well done

  112. Ad 9 years ago

Eastcoaster- Cheers mate! I’ll certainly do my best.

  113. Ad 9 years ago

Firstly, I’m sorry about this – it’s a bit of a self-indulgent space taker… but I’m off on holiday tomorrow and I want to get my Monday-Friday tipping summary up to let me revel a little more in what seems to have been a really successful week of tennis for most people on here. I said the first few weeks of the season would be tricky to negotiate compared to the first Slam would be, and that’s exactly how it’s played out!

    Aus Open Week 1

    WINNERS

    Groth d Kokkinakis @ 5/6
    Bacsinszky d Jankovis @ 11/10
    Dodin + 5.5 games v Pliskova @ 11/10
    Vandewwghe/Strycova/Johnson treble @ 5/4
    Vandeweghe d Stosur @ 6/4
    Second set over 9.5 games @ 13/8
    Kokkinaksi d Gulbis @ 17/10
    Muller d Bautista Agut @ 9/5
    Lorenzi d Dolgopolov @ 21/10
    Groth/Bolelli /Johnson /Zahlavova Strycova 4-fold @ 23/10
    Gonzales d Fognini @ 16/5
    Azarenka/Venus/Johnson/Vandeweghe/Strycova/Muller/Raonic/Isner/Nishikori/Janowicz/Radwanska/Gasquet/Federer/Murray /Berdych 15-fold @ 10/1

    LOSERS

    Lajovic d Stakhovsky @ 6/4
    Krunic d Davis @ 27/20
    Karlovic d Kyrgios @ 8/11
    Petkovic d Brengle @ 8/13

Obviously very happy with that! Still waiting on some accas which will hopefully swell the coffers further. I’ll try and keep posting with regularity when I’m away but it might be a little trickier. Keep up the good work everybody. And long live the Australian Open!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ad, well done and enjoy your holiday – you should be going to Melbourne.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Thanks Mr F. If only! There are definitely worse ways to spend a week than skiing in the alps. But watching the tennis with an icy beer in 30 degrees in Melbourne would probably be better!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ad, true. My brother lives in Sydney but he’s gone up this weekend and hoping to catch a glimpse of Murray.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Ah good for him. Hopefully he’ll get to see Murray before Fed’s made mincemeat out of him!

    • Attila 9 years ago

Mr Fix, that is to say he would have gone ‘down’ to Melbourne ;-)

Not sure about tonight basketball, so im gonna go with small stakes on Huggy’s SS and a mix of the other tips on the thread (Atilla/Huggy boston under, and the clippers ova from Jordan i think it was)

    Good luck gentlemen

  116. recoba1980 9 years ago

    Went for the following tonight

    Spurs/ML…5/12
    MIL Bucks-3.5…25
    POR Trail Blazers-1.5…411
BKN Nets+15.5…2/3(swines spoiled 7 fold last night)

    £12 pays £54.80

    GL all :)

  117. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

Ive gone as safe as i can (so it will probably lose lol)

    NBA.
    Bulls+13
    Jazz +15
    Nets +20.5…..pays just over evens.

Im not on Huggybears SS tonight…but GL to everyone that is.

  118. kevka 9 years ago

Thats pretty impressive Ad, specially that 15fold
Dont remember the last time that I got right more than 4 on the same bet lol

    • Ad 9 years ago

They were all pretty big favourites mates so it wasn’t really anything too insightful on my part. It’s just leaving out the risky favourites that’s the trick. Though that is sometimes easier said than done on the women’s side of the draw!

  119. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

    Crazy Tennis Acca.

    Baghdatis to win
    Murray 3-0
    Gasquet to win
    Krygios to win
    Nadal game O 3.5 sets
    Jankowich to win
    Vandewenghe to win
    Cibuotvka to win
    Bazcinsky to win
    Radwanska to win
    Azarenko to win

    £1.76 loose change pays £394

Will never happen, but they do sometimes GL

  120. Ad 9 years ago

I’ve definitely seen crazier bets come in than that mate. I’d say good luck, but I need Dimitrov to win! Take him out and put another couple quid on and i’ll get right behind you!

  121. Ad 9 years ago

I’m tempted by over 35.5 games in Baghdatis v Dimitrov @ 5/6. 7-5, 7-5, 7-5 would do it, and I think Baghi could even nick a set.

  122. cooldude 9 years ago

Ad its highly unusual for a player of Federer’s age to still perform at the top level. Ad, what I want to know is will Fed make the final?

  123. Ad 9 years ago

I think so. Rafa’s not back to his old self yet. Murray is the only one really standing in his way you’d think. He has done well down in Melbourne before, and he looks on song, but I’m backing the old master to make the final. Should be a tad closer than the 6-0, 6-1 in London though!

    • cooldude 9 years ago

Ad, that would be an amazing final and here’s hoping!

  124. huggybear 9 years ago

not what you want to hear but i think the right play would have been the spurs -6 tonight and starting to doubt tonights ss , but too late i`m on already …

now it`ll be more exciting ….

  125. Attila 9 years ago

Notre Dame & Arkansas are both out like Rockets in the 1st half for anyone that’s on my B’Ball 5 fold.

  126. Attila 9 years ago

Just ride it out Huggy. It will be close, cash out if you can if they get out to a good lead maybe?
Spurs are now -5.5. Put a little on my Spurs & Celts/Port under double mate…you could take Spurs ML & Under 210 or so at around Evens if ya wanted it super safe!

  127. Sam 9 years ago

Great start to the 6/1 4-fold I mentioned above as the first three selections have landed. Over to Berdych and Troicki later. 2-2 after 4 games lands a cool 700 GBP.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Good luck Sam, that’s an interesting bet. I didn’t even see it till just now. Fingers crossed

  128. huggybear 9 years ago

attila rough with the smooth , plenty of other bets going as well, unposted , thinking the spurs might just turn it on tonight with leonard and parker…

  129. Ad 9 years ago

Sam- Tomic v Groth looks a great game for backing 2-2 after 4 games or 3-3 after 6. Can see there being no break of serve for a while.

  130. Ad 9 years ago

Not a market ive ever used before but these looks promising:
    Nadal V Sela score after 2 games 1-1 @ 4/9
    Tomic v Groth score after 4 games 2-2 @ 2/5 / after 6 games 3-3 @ 4/7

  131. Jordan 9 years ago

We’ll yesterday it was the day of the fav so any win that backed them would have won

Can’t believe Celtics beat Portland in Portland. That’s killed my last bet. All losers today. Day of upsets. Time for a beer!

Cycling: Tour down under stage 4 result

    Match-up double, winner in capitals:

    MARCEL KITTEL v Giacomo Nizzolo
STEELE VON HOFF v Wouter Wippert
Double @ 2.59 with William Hill
    WIN :)

Von Hoff won the stage, Kittel leaded the last group over the finish and our friend Nizzolo was at the back of that group. Note to self: back against Kittel this early in the season when bookies think he is the favourite
