I WAS a Heracles goal away from landing my goals treble but at least the double on the app won.

Maybe I should have nicked another of Jordan's games as he posted a winning double and suggested a third. The common denominator was Top Oss whose game again went over 3.5 goals.

Today's a busy one although in Scotland it's complicated by William Hill Scottish Cup ties. On Tuesday I posted a Scottish Cup fivefold on five hot favourites that should land at evens.

I've posted a Scottish and English preview and may add and have added a Euro treble. The draws have no points advice but should be done for low stakes.

It’s Scottish cup day tomorrow and as already posted earlier in the week by Mr F there are some real mismatches – non more so than at Tyncastle

    Bonnyrigg Rose v Hibs

It’s fairytale stuff as the junior outfit play their biggest match of their history against Hibs and to maximise revenue it’s been moved to Hearts ground Tyncastle! Hibs probably have the 5th biggest budget in Scotland and even if Neil Lennon rings the changes they should still be scoring at least 4 or 5 goals – it’s really just about how many Hibs will win by! Could have double this up with Hibs to score 3 at 8/15 the safest outcome but I feel Hibs will be too far too strong and could net a few more

Back over 3.5 match goals 10/11 (BetBright) (NAP)

Hibs to win by 3 or more goals 4/5 (Winner)

    **************************

    Crystal Palace v Everton

Sam the money grabber finally managed his first win as Palace boss during the week and he’ll be reinstating his main men to the starting 11 for this tough assignment against an Everton side who must be full of confidance after hammering Man City 4-0 last weekend! This looks like it has BTTS written all over it and that ahold lead is to over 2.5 in what I feel is a price much higher than it should be

    Over 2.5 match goals 1/1 (Paddy P)

    Morning gents,

The obligatory ‘massive Saturday card’ is back on offer for punters today and for some, it’s a dream whilst others prefer a smaller card and like the ‘reduced pool’ on which to hone bets.

I’m fussed neither way but what’s important for me, is to have a clear focus on which games I actually want to bet on rather than scrolling through 3 or 4 x divisions to the power of 14 different countries…that way lies madness.

I’ve a clear picture of which league I’m heading for tomorrow and one game that potentially offers exactly what I’m looking for…most importantly, I know both teams’ capabilities, strenths and weaknesses and although ‘trust’ isn’t a word to associate with betting, get yourself as close as you can to ‘trust’ and you’ll take that little bit of control off the bookies.

    Familiarity is critical.

CURZON ASHTON VS. FYLDE 15.00 KO):

‘Nash may not be pulling up any trees this season but – like the last campaign – they are one hell of a team to side with if you like BTTS.

For all their vulnerabilities, you could put them up against Arsenal’s Invincibles and they would steal one from somewhere!

Ok, I’m over-egging the mix there but in reality, CA do genuinely find a way to score in the vast majority of games.

In reality what does that look like?

Well, in their most recent 36 games, they have scored in 32 of them…that is some % for a team who aren’t picking up many points and that means value.

Fylde themselves need no introduction: 9 points clear at the top of the NLN and they have been great to me this season.

    BUT…

They have taken a couple of knocks recently. In a season dominated by majority 3 pointers with the odd draw thrown in, Fylde have actually lost 3 of their last 6.

Is there a better time for ‘Nash to play the table-toppers? Probably not.

    Three selections to consider:

    BTTS…4/7
    ?????

    OVER 3.5 MGS…6/5
    ???

    BTTS 1ST HALF…29/10
    ??

Best of luck with all bets

Great shout Hull, i have been betting on this league the past few weeks with some success. Always goals lets hope that continues today.

  6. Jordan 7 years ago

Post is up with the Baggies goals but with the rammed card there’s a fair bit of value out there. Much prefer the smaller cards such as Friday or Sunday as you can get too carried away. Skipping Australia while I do fancy over 2.5 goals in both games but much more appetizing options on the board. Therefore

West Brom Over 1.5 Team Goals
Whitehawk/Hemel Hempstead Over 2.5 Match Goals
AZ Alkmaar Over 1.5 Team Goals
    Doncaster Over 1.5 Team Goals
    Manchester City No Clean Sheet

    81/10 @ 365 – 0.5 a point

One evening game that may be worth getting your research in for now!

CENTRAL VS. POINT FORTIN (19.30 KO):

Most likely there’ll be interest in this one as the day goes on and, as both domestic and more familiar games/leagues thin out, this may well be a stand out game for punters looking for an ‘overseas’ game.

Not everyone’s cup of tea but as far as T&T match-ups go, Point Fortin versus Central is as tasty as it gets with a 1-4 Central victory back in November.

Like I said, just a heads-up, but if you fancy it (I do!) be poised to jump on early prices…no real markets out yet and Coral’s will be around at some point in the afternoon.

Aside from goals, and the bookies are now well on top of goal prices here, there is another angle which may just pay off.

    Corners.

Central’s dominance could well manifest itself in the form of corners especially if the goals aren’t forthcoming…prices are too good to ignore:

    OVER 10 CORNERS…11/10
    ???

    OVER 12 CORNERS…13/5
    ?

    ?

Round 16 of the A-League has been kind so far, so here’s hoping the good run continues. We have two games today, commencing with Wellington Phoenix hosting Brisbane Roar.

    Wellington Phoenix v Brisbane Roar:
Phoenix have hit a bit of form all of a sudden, with two good wins under their belts. Barbarouses has been fantastic in recent games, showing the impressive form he always had in the Victory camp. Equally McGlinchey and Bonevacia, and the rest of the squad are high on confidence and it’s showing in their form.

Roar enter this match in mixed form once more, although Petratos and Oar enter this one in fine form, contributing more up front. Defence has been Roar’s “achilles heel” in recent games.

Goals are expected here, and I see no reason not to play along.

    Perth Glory v Melbourne Victory:
Perth will be glad to return to nib stadium, where they are always traditionally tough to beat. Their defence has been an issue in recent games, but scoring has not been an issue with goals coming from all quarters. Taggart continues to impress, Keogh is a threat, as is Castro and several others.

Victory had been title contenders for quite some time, and no one saw their loss coming against the Phoenix last round. They were utterly terrible all game, and aside from a small few attempts on goal (which were thwarted by some impressive goalkeeping by Moss), they did little. Ben Khalfallah and Geria are both missing through suspension, but their depth of squad should cover the losses. Berisha, Troisi and Rojas shouldn’t be written off in any match, and I’d be surprised to see them kept at bay for a second consecutive match.

    Tips:
    Wellington Phoenix v Brisbane Roar – over 3 goals @ 2.25 (3PT)
    Perth Glory v Melbourne Victory – over 3/3.5 goals @ 2.02 (3PT)

I treated the Mexican Night Owl with caution and although stats were enough to back both selections – I did so with a bit of reservation.

    I really didn’t need to…with 20 minutes to go, we’ve had 5 goals and 15 corners ?

CORRECAMINOS UAT VS. CELAYA (02.00 KO):

    BTTS…19/20 (Coral)
    ??

    ***WON***

    OVER 2.5 MGS + OVER 8 CORNERS…FRACTION UNDER 3/1 (365)
    ?

Just early thoughts on the Derby/Reading game:

I know we have the players to be competing and taking all the spoils today, our confidence has taken a nosedive since Christmas with the only nice surprise coming in the form of an away win against WBA in the FA cup.
Derby away to Leeds last time out and we were outplayed in every area for the first half. Leeds took the only goal of the game at the death of halftime but they had 70% + possession, charged ahead on corners, their passing was crisp and every time they grabbed hold of the ball, as a Derby supporter you always had the feeling of ” when they score ” not IF they score. Derby made a couple of changes including bringing Will Hughes on and a later cameo for new signing David Nugent. Just to rub salt into the wounds, Chris Martin making his first start in ages for Fulham scored from the spot and made a 2nd. I wouldn’t waste as much as a penny on him coming back to the club until the season is up, Fulham are keeping him. This means Nugent HAS to deliver. His stats are worse than Darren Bents and he’s only slightly younger. On the surface, Nugent is a good signing – BUT when he signed for Portsmouth ahead of joining the rams, the rams faithful will remember his words ” Derby isn’t big enough for me “. I guess that if he doesn’t pitch in and turn that around, we’ll ram those words down his throat.
I still remember the season we only needed a draw to guarantee a top 6 finish the year before last, when Reading came to town. They slapped us down 3 nil and we fell out of the top 6 on the last day of the season.
Reading are 4th, we’re 7th and losing ground on those above us. Like last week, this game is a 6 pointer. Our form and performance has been on the slide since mid December and we’re staring down the barrel of another dreadful 3 months season end. I’m thinking – here we go again.
Something has to change, our big players need to be on the pitch and they need to start rolling their socks up. We’ve been lacking bite in midfield, our wingers are not running at their full backs enough – hitting our corner count and all in all the front 3 are lacking in receiving the service they need to burst the net. Goals has been our problem all season and most are coming from Ince.
Anything other than a win today and our season is over. Our heads will drop and the quadruple deja-vue of an awful season close will be in full swing.

I’m not totally confident on a win based on how we’ve competed this past 5 weeks. I’m more confident though that IF we do win, it will be because the midfield will be pitching in with the cards count and show some teeth.
FYI Bradley Johnson out of this game due to seeing red at Elland Rd.

I might be on hand with team news but its another important paperwork day so it may be a step too far. Best of luck on all your bets today guys.

Posted my thoughts on oz yesterday so I’ll just put a quick recap on here
    Btts/over 2.5 both games
    2xsingles and a double
    20/21
    4/6
    Double 9/4

I’ve also thrown a few bob on both games over 3.5 goals at 5/1

    Early kick offs today.
Most people I know absolutely hate backing the early games as it’s a sure fire way to ruin your accer, so it’s nice when the fixture list throws up 2 or 3 games that you can keep separate and not ruin your day by 2pm and that’s the case today for me. Both Liverpool and rangers at home today and these sides are both on my “corners” list. Both teams that get large nos of corners especially at home, and both play 4-3-3 which helps this. most of the time rangers are usually into double figures and Liverpool are nearly always there or thereabouts too. I’ve added match goals as well as both teams need to win Liverpool to keep their title hopes alive and rangers because it’s their only chance of silverware.
    Suggested bet
    Liverpool over 7.5 tcorners
    Rangers over 6.5 tcorners
Both matches over 1.5 goals 17/5 bet 365

    Double chance accer
    Man Utd/draw
    Everton/draw
    West Brom/draw
    Bournemouth/draw
    6/5 bet 365

    Wdw accer
    Liverpool
    West Brom
    Bournemouth
    27/10 bet 365

For those of you following mr fixits Scottish cup treble the odds have dropped to below evens. I’ve added Dundee and this makes it 6/4 also at bet 365. Good luck all

    • sean567 7 years ago

    Morning gents

Posted a few weeks ago regarding the plight of Conference southern side Gosport borough on and off the pitch

To cut a long story short, Spme players refused to play some walked out, their manager left and they’ve struggled to field a bench in their recent matches! They are just above the relegation places and look like they’ll be in there before too long! There teas get embargo has been lifted bit with key players leaving the ones they have brought in have been just to bolster numbers!

They have now lost 5 on the spin bit more alarming is how heavy recent defeat have been (7-0 4-1 6-0)

They are in action again today so worth keeping an eye out

    • craigyboy 7 years ago

Cheers for that info Greg. I’ve noticed their opponents today Hampton and Richmond have scored at least three times in their last three home games and their two most recent against St Albans and Hemel Hempstead (both in the top ten).

No prices as of yet but surely you’ve got to fancy Hemel/Over 2.5 goals.

    • wasclueless 7 years ago

Wanted to take Hampton on the AH (but no market – think they have twigged Gosports woes!). Hampton have scored 3 & 4 in their last two NLS games and Gosport have been behind at HT in their last 4 games …

    Good Evening Guys

    Premier League Tips-
    Stoke vs Manutd
Stoke had a good result last week but the week before they were losing at home to Wolves in the FA Cup. I have been very surprised with their inconsistency. Manchester United will be very disappointed with the draw against Liverpool. It was a poor penalty to give away at any level of football. I don’t like going against Stoke at home but United are still unbeaten and flying along.
Bet To Consider – Manchester United

    Liverpool vs Swansea
It’s a big weekend. If you look at a few of the top teams you’d like to say they’ve got easy games and they cannot afford to slip up. This is one of them. The only thing that can beat Liverpool here is complacency. We’ve just seen what Arsenal did to Swansea, who despite losing 4-0 did okay. I just can’t see anything other than a very comfortable home win.
Bet To Consider – Over 2.5 goals

    Bournemouth vs Watford
This is a game where both teams have really hit a brick wall. Bournemouth were another side that got knocked out of the FA Cup and it just continues. However, Watford have also been disappointing in recent weeks and I’m backing Eddie Howe’s side to bounce back from defeat at Hull to claim a comfortable win.
Bet To Consider – Bournemouth To Win

    WestBrom vs Sunderland
West Brom have gone a little bit off the boil in recent weeks. They went out of the FA Cup which was a disappointing result and then Tottenham absolutely rinsed them last week. It could have been any score and that’s not like West Brom. Sunderland, after their disappointing result last week, need a win. They didn’t really get going against Stoke and look like a side in trouble.
Bet To Consider – WestBrom To Win

    Arsenal vs Burnley
If Arsene Wenger’s side think they can just turn up and win this game there might be a shock. If they go into the game fully focused there is only one winner, and that’s Arsenal. Burnley are a completely different animal at Turf Moor but away from home I can’t see them troubling the Gunners.
Bet To Consider –Over 2.5 goals

    Chelsea vs Hull
On paper it’s an easy game for Chelsea. Like Liverpool and Arsenal I expect a comfortable afternoon for the Blues and that’s why it puts so much pressure on Man City’s clash with Tottenham. City have to win because I expect Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea to get all three points. If City don’t win and all the teams around them do, they’ll be cut adrift. Whatever happens, it’ll be three points at Stamford Bridge for Antonio Conte’s side.
Bet To Consider – Over 2.5 goals

    CARDIFF v BURTON.
    Over 2.5 mgs 43/40.
    CARDIFF over 1.5 TGS 1/1.
CARDIFF goal before 46 mins 5/6.
BURTON goal before 74 mins 5/6.
    Over 1.5 FHG 2/1.

    Summary:
Burton’s last 5 away games have seen over 1.5 mgs scored in first half! Cardiff enjoy an early goal especially when they’ve been up against teams wanting to play football, Clough’s boys should oblige, Cardiff hopefully will return the favour with their less than organised defence! There’s value in the goals market, thus added overs and time before goals. Warnock will be looking to win this and they’ll probably need to score 2 to achieve this!

    ROCHDALE v OXFORD
    Over 2.5 mgs 19/20.
    ROCHDALE over 1.5 TGS 1/1.

    Summary:
ROCHDALE are formidable at home and scoring goals certainly hasn’t been an issue! Should see goals again today, Oxford should contribute!

    DAGGERS over 1.5 TGS 4/6.
    MACCLESFIELD over 1.5 TGS 4/6.

Am i the only person on here that thinks Man City @ 6/5 are a good price at home to beat spurs ?
If they can hammer Barca at home then they can do the same to Tottenham . i think they will raise their game big time today.

Tough looking card to return to today after a midweek of concentrating on exams. Last weekend was good for me and boy was it needed. Hope all have been well and raking in the winners.

The first game I like today that I feel has a bit of value is Villa v Preston. Villa’s game have not been the most prolific in the goals department this season, but there are a few factors that make me feel we could see the net rustle at least a couple of times today. Villa average just about a goal conceded per game and haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 5. What is also of note is that 9 of 12 teams have managed to score on their travels to Villa Park this season, many of whom are arguably weaker sides than Preston. Preston themselves come off the back of a good win at home to Brighton and have a canny knack of scoring away from home. They’ve scored in every away league game since September so I think there’s value in the price of BTTS given that Villa have scored in every home game this season.

Aston Villa v Preston BTTS @ Evens (Various)
    ____________________________________

Two games that don’t need me to explain why there ought to be goals. Fingers crossed they both go to form:

    Worthing v Leiston
    Curzon Ashton v Fylde

    BTTS Double @ 7/5 (Bwin)
    ____________________________________

Lastly, there are a couple of favourites today that really should do the business. Having seen Liverpool’s line up I can’t resist having a nibble at this despite Newcastle losing a couple of players to the AFCON.

    Liverpool
    Newcastle

    O1.5 Team Goals Double @ 4/5 (Betstars)

*5-fold pays a little over 7/1 – will have a little bit on it.

Fylde is the main bet gor me today with the T &T game to follow in the evening but I might just have a go at the following for lower stakes in the EPL:

LIVERPOOL VS. SWANSEA – think 3-0 would be a reasonable scoreline against a struggling Swansea set-up but rather than match or team goals, I’ll take the added risk for addional value that the h/cap markets offer:

    LIVERPOOL -2 H/CAP…8/5
    ??

    ****************************

CITY VS. SPURS – Lot said earlier in the week on here about how Spurs were going to steamroll City and although I agree Spurs are mightily impressive of late, to rule out City from the off is bonkers.

Read also that Yaya Toure ‘didn’t have the legs anymore’, well, players with world class pedigree compensate well as their careers move on and when you pass as well as him, you don’t need to run through defenses as he did 5 years ago.

I’ve no idea what his pass/completion stats are like but having watched him in the flesh recently, his range and accuracy is off the scale.

Early goal appeals here and most probably to Spurs:

    GOAL BEFORE 28.00…5/6
    ??

    BTTS BOTH HALVES…11/1
    ?

    ****************************

Lastly, spare a thought for the players and families of Chapecoense who tragically lost nigh on their full team in Novembers plane crash.

Their newly formed team, now led by Director of Football Rui Costa will play their first game since that fateful night, playing host to Palmeiras at their home ground of Arena Conda.

Much of the story is so much a reflection of Man Utd’s 1958 tradegy and I hope so much that Chapecoense are able to replicate the success that came out of such a desperate situation and go on to be one of South America’s top sides as Utd did in their subsequent dominance of Europe.

    Out of adversity comes opportunity!

    Best of luck today ?

    Derby team news

4 changes, Hansen out, in comes Olsson back from Injury, Shackell sits out and Pearce back, Johnson out ( red card ) and in comes Hughes and out goes Camara and in comes Russell.

    Carson
    Baird/Pearce/Keogh/Olsson
    Hughes/Bryson/Di Sart
    Russell/Bent/Ince

Olsson back from injury is a no brainer, he’s our 2nd choice left back and we’ve suffered/missed him. Shackell seemed to rely too much on panic clearances to bail him out of the shit against Leeds and Pearce missing that one was a bad call from the manager, glad he’s back. Johnson out – red carded and back comes Hughes – sensible. I think Johnson has been out of sorts this last few matches and Hughes absence in that 1st half against Leeds was obvious. Halftime possession stats were 70% to leeds, with Hughes in the middle, for much of the 2nd half, we had 75% possession, we just couldn’t get back into the game. Leeds did take a step back in the 2nd half and allowed us half a chance to have a go at them – but we never stepped it up enough. Camara had a terrific game against WBA and ran rings around Dawson, but with the service to the front 3 distinctly lacking, Camara dropped back and played most of his first 45 mins 10 yards in front of our left back. Russell seems a little more consistant, but I’d like to see him run at their fullbacks like we know he can.

Nugent is apparently injured – knee problem. ffs. To add insult to injury guess who’s just equalised for Fulham??? yep – Chris Martin. and he missed a penalty.

Still think we have the team to beat Reading today, but not 100% confident on dropping cash onto it. I was looking for the cards market on this game but its not there so I shall give this match a miss.

On the transfer front, Lansbury bid was turned down flatly by Florist who refused to sell to us – because it’s us. they sold for very slightly more than we offered them to Villa, and now apparently there’s protests outside the shitty ground. I’m guessing their fans are still waiting for the magic wand treatment.
It also appears that derby have concluded all their transfer business which is disappointing. There also appears to be a lot of interest, particularly from Birmingham over Johnny Russells future. I’d say we need to keep him until the summer and see a better offer. I think 2 mill was bid but Derby value him at 3.5.

Already put up some corner selections for the Central/Point Fortin game later and was awaiting prices for goals.

Worth reminding ourselves what Point Fortin’s goal record is like away from home…shite.

5-3-2-7-4-5-7 goals conceded in their last 7 tells you pretty much all you need to know.

With 2 games in hand on leaders Western Connection but 5 points behind, I can’t see Central passing up this opprtunity to make a statement of intent.

Unfortunately for PF, there’s every chance they’ll be limping out of of The Larry Gomes Stadium and looking for the local A&E to have their new arsehole sewn back together come 21.15 tonight.

Looking forward to this one and on top of the corner picks, I’ve also gone for the following:

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…20/23
    ???

    OVER 3.5 MGS…4/6

    Saturday Night Goals Treble anyone?

Having sniffed around the card, there’s actually a few games here and there that look just about bettable but either the prices don’t appeal or something within the stats just doesn’t stack up.

On a few occasions over the last year or 2, I’ve dropped onto the El Salvadorean Youth leagues and they have come up trumps.

Tonight sees 3 games kicking off at 21.00 and I’ve been through each looking at recent stats and historic H2Hs – focusing primarily upon those played within the 2016 to 2017 window.

Apologies, but I’m not going to post up reasoning for each of the games as I’m full of man-flu – my brain aches and my eyes are on fire…in fact I’d rather crawl across broken glass with Robbie Savage on my back than look in detail at lots of numbers dancing around on my phone’s screen ?

ISIDRO METAPÁN U20 VS. DRAGÓN U20

    SONSONATE U20 VS. CHALATENANGO U20

LUIS ÁNGEL FIRPO U20 VS. PASAQUINA U20

Each one looks solid with potentially only the Firpo game that worries me slightly.

I’ve gone for BTTS as one option and then a more unorthodox second half goal treble for the other – a heavier weighting of goals in the latter half is not uncommon in games I’ve followed here before. Besides, who doesn’t love a SHGS TREBLE ?

    Two bets to consider:

    BTTS TREBLE…2.32/1
    ??

    OVER 1.5 SHGS TREBLE…3.84/1
    ?

    Good luck!

    Report:

Just looking at a few goal patterns (Crackpot theory) and noticed that Guingamp like to get a late first half goal.
Guingamp have been involved in a few games this season that have had goals at pretty good value with the last 6 all coming in at over 2.5, it reads like this(4,5,3,4,3,4).
Tomorrow at Rennes you can get over 1.5 at 2/5 not to bad for an acca bumper especially when Rennes last 6 away games featured goal stats like this 6,2,7,1,3,4 .
In fact Guingamp’s recent first goal times read like this, 40,11,42,49,66,20,32. I can see goals in this game and I’m backing Guingamp to score a goal before 54:00 @ 5/6.
    Guingamp over 1.5 tgs 11/8

Guingamp to score a goal before 54:00 @ 5/6. ?WON

  128. HullShaker 7 years ago

The Night Owl sees me touching down in Central America but luckily not for all of those dreadful ‘Florida Cup’ games that end 0-0 every night!

    Instead, it’s over to Mexico…

    CRUZ AZUL VS. MONTERREY:

I did well with corner/goal combo bets in last night’s Mexican Night Owl and that’s exactly what I’m looking to emulate again!

In terms of corners, we seem to be averaging around 11 for both sides’ games and the last 3 H2Hs have yielded: 8, 12, and 11.

Some inconsistencies when it comes to goals (and within H2Hs) but both sides are usually in the mix when it comes to the scoresheet.

Two selections worth a little look:

    OVER 10 CORNERS + OVER 2.5 MGS…2.45/1
    ??

    OVER 14 CORNERS…6/1
    ?

    Good luck
