Really like boolass especially after it won for me lto

But speitowns kid in same race also won lto on same day actually and although doesn’t race at 7f is out of a decent 7f horse and at 8/1 looks a bit of value!

    Rfc for me!

Also like the look of sober up 4.00!! As its my birthday tomo it’s what the wife will be saying!!!

Liking your sober up shout.Over here in sunny Belfast it’s a phase often used for daft comments so it’s a term more than often used que the paddy irishman jokes😂 Again many happy returns and hope your sober enough to count the winnings come 4.30 and all the racings finished.Goodluck mate

elvis its just a first race starter for the days racing no big deal bit of fun and a few quid to hopefully bump up the coffers for the racing day ahead hope that helps. If the race has a odds on move to the next. GL

Pacha Du Polder ‘ideal’ for Victoria Pendleton, says trainer Paul Nicholls

Trainer Paul Nicholls reckons Pacha Du Polder is ‘ideal’ for Victoria Pendleton after the gelding was unveiled as the Olympic track cycling champion’s intended mount in the Foxhunter Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

The nine-year-old, who finished second to Ireland’s On The Fringe in the Fox Hunters’ Chase over the Aintree fences last Spring, is the second-highest rated hunter chaser in Britain.

A winner of six of his 21 races, Pacha Du Polder, who carries the colours of Andy Stewart, has only fallen once when trained by Nicholls.
As well as jumping around Aintree’s famous fences twice, he has run three times at Cheltenham, including a 10th place to Holywell at the 2014 Festival.

Pacha Du Polder is currently trained by Chloe Roddick, who pre-trains horses for Nicholls. But he could return to the champion trainer for Pendleton’s Festival bid.

The intention is for Pendleton to ride the nine-year-old in two Point-to-Points before the Foxhunter, the first at Milborne St Andrew in Dorset on January 31.

Nicholls said: ‘I thought he would be an ideal ride for Victoria. Chloe brought him over last week and she jumped around 30 fences on him. He is a good jumper and travels well in his races.

‘I can’t run him in point-to-points and he has to be back with me for 14 days before he can run under my name. It hasn’t been decided what will happen at the Festival yet.’

Coral halved the odds of Pendleton winning the Foxhunter to 33-1

My God, surprised cheltenham are allowing this to happen.
It’s like some tacky reality show, she will ride the horse, taking a proper jockeys place, and disappear into the sunset where she will probably decide she wants to be David Haye’s next opponent live on challenge tv.

Ta for the ayr info earlier.
Unfortunately due to hurricane Frank there is a damaged viaduct between Carlisle and Glasgow which means there is an extra 90 minutes added to the journey.
Basically I can’t get back on the same day now, so I’m going to Ludlow on thursday instead.
It’s closer and is sure to be on.
Have to do ayr later in the year.
        Maybe Scottish national day.

They were always quite confident of getting Ayr on but they did do alot of work to get it on

      • Profile photo of Johnb

I admire her, she is a great athlete who after retiring from her sport, wanted a new challenge.
For anyone that hasn’t been to point to points, they are alot harder than racing under rules, the courses and fences are harder than most racecourses.
For the amount of time she has been involved with the sport she has done really well

Whether or not she should be riding is open to debate where there will be different views, Aintree wouldn’t let her ride because she doesn’t have enough race riding experience, as it is run over the national fences, but she does have all the qualifications to race at Cheltenham
Also an owner like Andy Stewart and a trainer like Paul Nicholls wouldnt give her a horse to ride if they thought she couldn’t handle it

Cheers alanm this girl has not let me down and il be backing her alot in future just have to pick her best rides. This is her only ride today if memory serves me right hoked it out at 4.30am this morning on my teabreak had my alarm set for getting up to watch and to be honest never looked like being beat just like GENTLEMAN last Tuesday great running horses.Bit of a novice still learning with horses thanks to yourself stevieg jimron doublecarpet and others too many to mention.Ive picked a good few over past 6mths including a quad 2 weeks ago which paid £456 for £5. I just havnt really much confidence in posting my picks due to inexperience. But felt I needed to post this morning as Josephine is something else in my view.My dbl let me down with a 2nd.Had a sneaky £8 on the tbl was my odds from the Nba through the night cashed 40 out inplay so a great start today. Gona go £10 on jimrons sober up now.

Why don’t you ever tip horses each way John B? I always back them each way and never go far wrong with that – it is rare for them to not at least place. Do you know if it would be better for your stats if you tipped them each way?

  51. Profile photo of Johnb
    Johnb 11 months ago

chilledenr I was told by a professional punter about 20 years ago to stop doing each way, he told me to keep a record of my bets for a whole year, he said I would be surprised by the results and I was, it was alot more profitable just doing a win bet

What people forget when the back say a 20/1 horse each way say £5 e/w
If it places at 1/5 the odds, then that’s £5 at 4/1 which is £25 return
But it cost you £10 to get £25 which is just like a 6/4 winner

I see why people back each way but I think nearly everyone would make more over a year if they didn’t back each way.

Antepost betting is different because it is possible to back e/w and get 3 places even if the non runners took the field down to 3 runners, you would still get the 3 places
