TOP OSS dominated the site on Friday and they let no one down with 4-2 win against Dordrecht.

That result helped me land a Dutch goals treble which I'd put up as a Super Single.

I wonder if Oss realise they're worshipped due to their goalfests. Keep it up and we'll be arranging a Mr Fixit weekend trip to Oss – even if Mr Orange says it's a dump. As Greg says we can stay in Amsterdam.

Oss goals was Jordan's nap but Greg admitted he made a mistake with his Troyes stats and they lost at home to Ajaccio.

Anyway Oss are history until Friday when they travel to Helmond – and over 2.5 goals will bring up 100 for the season in their 21 league matches.

Today's card I find pretty tough – and I was looking forward to it after FA Cup weekend. I've posted separate Scottish and English previews where most of my picks are explained.

I've also included a European Top Treble in the absence of Scott Allot who is ill – let's all wish him a speedy recovery.

Remember to check out WeLoveBetting for their tips and video chat. They're also the place to go for African Cup of Nations posts and I've got a Super Single from the opening game between hosts Gabon and Guinea Bissau.

Gabon are hot favourites to win this one and I can't resist star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score – he's netted 20 this season for Dortmund and is a class above most players taking part.

Hello there, after a small loss yesterday I’m back advising a few games that could see many goals.

Austrian Friendly 13:00 KO Grasshoppers vs. Winterthur over 2.5 goals
Dutch Eredivisie 17:30 KO SC Heerenveen vs Ado Den Haag Home team over 1.5 Teamgoals
    Pre-game DOUBLE 5/4 (NAP)

    ———————————————
Gerasdorf is the team i tipped three days ago when it ended 4-7.
    Austrian friendly

13:00 KO Helfort 15 vs. Gerasdorf Stammersdorf
    Over 1.5 FHG
    Over 3.5 MG
    ———————————————
KA Akureyri are on fire and they should score quite a few here. The first game in the group they beat a team from their level 8-1.
Magni is a lower level side and I’d be very suprised if they won’t give away goals.
    Northern Iceland Cup

15:00 KO KA Akureyri vs Magni
    over 1.5 FHG
    over 3.5 MG
    ———————————————
My favourite team from Chile will be in action in the evening.
This teams has made me quite a lot of money and they just keep delivering the goals. Bookies still way too generous.

    Chile Primera B
    22:00KO Iberia vs Cobreloa
    over 2.5 MG EVENS

p.s. Might start tracking wins and losses because I see lots of people doing that on here.

    • matrix 7 years ago

The bookies have set the goalline for Helfort 15 vs. Stammersdorf at over 4.5 so I will only be taking the over 1.5 fhg 8/11 in that game.

    • matrix 7 years ago

Stammersdorf lead 2-1 at HT hope some of you managed to get on. Now hoping the Grasshoppers game will see atleast two more goals.

Wellington Phoenix v Central Coast Mariners:
Two teams in poor form meet in round 14. For the Phoenix… Krishna is out through suspension.. but Phoenix have Smeltz now, added to which Lia, Finkler and McGlinchey all return to boost a Phoenix squad who is traditionally strong at home. All 3 players are key to this squad and should make the difference.

Mariners are even worse than Phoenix right now. They are scoring freely, but their ability to concede is just staggering. They put in a solid shift against cross-town rivals Sydney last round, but gave up 3 goals easily leading to another loss. They do have Tavares return, which will help a little…

I see another high scoring match, with both squads sinking in the goals.

Sydney FC v Western Sydney Wanderers:
League leaders Sydney host the Wanderers tonight. The hosts welcome back Alex Brosque in a huge boost to their attack, as well as Calver, but see defensive pair Ryall and Brillante out. This squad has considerable depth though, which is why they are tearing up the league this season.

Their opponents Wanderers have looked poor of late, with Nichols providing the sole spark in recent weeks. Santalab is still suspended, and Cole is out injured. Dimas and Antonis return though, in what could be an attacking boost… but again, I’m not sure what they can do here.

Safe bet (for me) is on goals again, as I honestly expect Sydney to score, and the absence of Ryall and Brillante for Sydney does open the door for the Wanderers. Plus.. this is the true Sydney derby, with this fixture often being fiery over the years.

    Tips:
    Wellington Phoenix v Central Coast Mariners – Over 3/3.5 goals @ 2.00 (2PT)
    Sydney FC v Western Sydney Wanderers – Over 3 goals @ 2.05 (3PT)
    Double – 4.01 (1PT)

    Morning gents,

Put my thoughts for today up midweek and I’ve no reason to change them!

“Looking ahead to the weekend and, as ever, plenty of value to be had in the lower leagues if you look under the right stones ?

Will put this one up now as going to be pushed for time – I think it’s a cracking little double and suspect prices will be a touch shorter come Saturday morning:

    HARROGATE TOWN VS. BPA
    DARLO VS. GLOUCESTER

The former is a West Riding derby with goals sewn throughout its H2H history whilst the latter sees a Darlington side who are scoring and haemorraging goals in equal measure!

Not going to put up any further stats or reasoning but I’m sweet as hell on this one.

    OVER 2.5 MGS DOUBLE…1.31/1
    ?????

    Add:

    BURY
    AIRBUS
    TNS

    and you’ve a fairly sturdy 5-fold paying a fraction under 6/1
    ???

Bit premature but a heads-up as know I’ll be pushed for time come the weekend.”

    Good luck ?

  5. Jordan 7 years ago

I always look at teams who have played in the week and today I think there is a bit of value on Burnley. Southampton will be thrilled with the fact they took a 1-0 win against Liverpool on Wednesday, but league form is a different story with three losses on the bounce. You wouldn’t think it by looking at their table position, but the Clarets have a better home record than Manchester City and Manchester United, winning 7 of their 11 home games. Southampton are without a clean sheet in their last four league games, and have conceded in 5 of their last 6 on the road. Fatigue may be an issue here with Southampton playing their strongest side against Liverpool, while Burnley had their feet up, not playing since last Saturday. The Clarets have scored in all but 2 of their 11 at home this season, and could leapfrog the Saints with 3 points. While the win is a risk, their price to score is tasty enough for me to have it in today’s double. These sides have met at Turf Moor only one in the Premier League, which ended in a 1-0 win for the home side. Also worth noting, Southampton haven’t kept a clean sheet in their six visits here.

Double that up with League Two promotion chasers Colchester not to lose. They travel to a Newport side who have lost their last eight. Colchester boast the best form in the league over their last five, winning seven of their last eight. Newport have scored in their last five but Colchester need to win these games if they want promotion, and with the form they are in, I can’t see them slipping up here. Anything can happen in these lower leagues though, so keeping stakes fairly low on what I think is a tricky card.

    Burnley To Score
    Colchester Double Chance

    52/50 @ Coral – 2.5 points

    Burnley DNB
    Colchester Win

    4/1 @ Coral – 0.5 a point

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Just looking through the EPL games myself and having similar thoughts regarding The Saints (long) trip up to Turf Moor.

Tough place to visit at the best of times and think you may well be onto something there Jordan – great write-up and a bit of a ‘spot’ as most will ignore this one.

Burnley are 11/8 DNB with 365!

      Good luck.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Don’t see Burnley losing but the pressure’s on them to keep picking up points at home because they don’t get any on the road.

    • Jordan 7 years ago

I was tempted on Burnley Double Chance over their goal which pays better than my double, but Southampton are one of those teams that you just don’t know what will happen.

  6. kipper 7 years ago

It’s actually getting fairly ridiculous how FC Oss pretty much always bang in 2+ goals with good odds, can’t complain though :)

    • Jordan 7 years ago

It would be a sin to complain @kipper. They will feature in my bet every fixture they play until they let us down.

They’re absolutely fearless, it’s as if they already know they’re probably going to concede so they know they have to score plenty to win, which for people betting on goals is an absolute gem of a team. I wish other teams would adopt this mentality.

    • kyle b 7 years ago

Never understood how bookies don’t adjust prices on technically the same market, +1 handicap is 8/11 whilst the DC pays 13/20, ODD ?

Just to add, I attend all the Burnley home games and we have turned Turf Moor into a fortress this season carrying on where we left off in the Championship. Gonna be a gruelling trip from the south coast for Soton coming off the back of the Liverpool WIN a mere 3 days ago. Expect them to struggle against an energetic, well organised Burnley side that cover a lot of distance in each game. I wouldn’t put anyone off a small stake on a Burnley WIN but the main worry is that we don’t create ample opportunities and we can be very wasteful in front of goal. This was most recently evident in the recent away encounter at Sunderland and has been so in a good number of our games this season. I can’t rule out a 0-0 draw but I don’t expect us to be defeated and the 8/11 on offer is a very enticing price. Thrown in Brighton to get a goal at Deepdale, they rested a few regular starters in the cup and I expect them to be reinstated for this one including the likes of Glenn Murray. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the scoresheet against an unpredictable Preston side that can blow hot and cold. Brighton are full of confidence and I believe they are a match for any side in the division. Preston haven’t kept a clean sheet in there last 5 at home (including Arsenal) and only two in there last 10 in the league. Believe Brighton should edge this and extend there incredible unbeaten run.

    BRISTOL CITY v CARDIFF
CARDIFF goal before 61 mins 5/6.
    CARDIFF over 1.5 TGS 7/4.
    OVER 2.5 Mgs EVENS.

    Summary:
Derby day! Bristol city have been on a terrible run of form, conceding 2,3,2,3 in last 4 league games home and away. On home soil stats don’t look any better, apart from a solitary win against a very dull Ipswich side, they’ve lost 4 out of 5, conceding 2,1,2,3. Cardiff rested players against Fulham in last weekends Cup defeat, and Warnock’s boys are fully aware the importance placed on league points. Scoring first half goals has been a consistent theme under Warnock, and considering Bristol’s defensive frailties, two Cardiff goals has every chance of landing! Cardiff have failed to keep a clean sheet on their travels under Warnock, thus the over 2.5 has a fair chance too!

    Rochdale to score
    Forfar to score 2+
    —-
    Double £26 returns £50
    —-
Top of the league Forfar have scored 17 goals in their last FIVE games, they face Stirling who have conceded 11 goals in their last 5 aways. Forfar have practically bullied this team the last 3 meetings, involving 3-0, 4-1 and 4-0 wins. I’ll take 1.50 odds on my accumulator any day.

While Southend sit in a respectable place in the table you cannot overlook the form Rochdale is in right now, 6 wins on the trot and seeing them score 2+ goals in each of those respectively. Southend have not won a game since boxing day and although this may likely end up BTTS, I will play it safe with a Rochdale goal to complete the double.

    Morning, all.

Managed to get back to winning ways yesterday after concentrating on just the one bet. Today’s card has been a tricky one, so I’ve tried to focus on finding the value today. Of course, I’m confident in my picks but each of them threw up bigger prices than I expected.

First are a Bury side who host Peterborough. I watched Peterborough’s approach when visiting Chelsea last weekend and it appeared they tried to replicate the openness Reading had displayed at Old Trafford just a day prior. Their defence was like swiss cheese against better quality opposition, but it was easy to see how they concede about a goal a game in their division. They’re no mugs going forward, either. They created plenty of chances against Chelsea, especially when the score remained 0-0. They’ve scored 38 in the league and 14 on their travels.

Bury have been good to the punter barring the odd games against the form book (see: Sheffield United, Fleetwood away). In their last two outings they’ve been back to the Bury of old, scoring and conceding against the top two in the league. Bury’s goalfests appear more reliable at home and I’m encouraged by their ability to bag a couple at Scunny last time out. Let’s hope for goals here.

    Bury v Peterborough BTTS/O2.5 Match Goals @ 10/11 (Bet365)
    ____________________________________________________

Leiston produced a blistering performance two weeks ago to beat local rivals, and 2nd place, Needham 5-1. They followed that up with a 0-6 demolition of Burgess Hill in their last outing and today host a Billericay side who could be best described as ‘ordinary’. They sit midtable, having scored 35 and conceded 33 in their 26 games. However, Leiston’s scoring exploits are not confined to recent weeks. They’ve scored 64 goals in just 23 games, with exactly 32 coming at home and away. They average over 3 goals at home – so despite the unpredictability of the level of football they play at, the price on offer is just far too good here.

Leiston FC O1.5 Team Goals @ 10/11 (Betstars)
    ____________________________________________________

Lastly I fancy a couple of sides to score today and I echo Jordan’s thoughts regarding Burnley. I’ve doubled them up with a Wycombe side who are reasonably priced to score at home to Yeovil given the circumstances of their recent form.

    Burnley
    Wycombe

    O0.5 Team Goals Double @ 21/20 (Coral)

    Best of luck. :)

  35. HullShaker 7 years ago

    Morning gents,

Put up my main selections last night for today’s games but I’ve a nagging suspicion that the KCOM might well play host to a bit of a cracker this afternoon…

    HULL CITY VS. BOURNEMOUTH:

With new manager Marco Silva in place and a couple of signings to shuffle the (undersized and i jury ravaged) pack, this one could well be a defining moment for The Tigers’ season.

One of the key factors here will most likely be The Cherries complete set of fresh legs after resting the full starting X1 against Milwall last time out.

A lack of match fitness is set to keep new signings Niasse and Evandro out of the starting line-up but the good news for City is Dawson and Davis are recovered from their respective injuries whilst Livermore case of the ‘Brad Pitts’ has subsided.

On paper, it looks a shoe-in for Bournemouth but City have a dogged resilience about them – yes, results aren’t going their way but in the last 4 they have beaten Swansea and given Man City, Everton and Utd plenty to think about.

I saw them in the flesh over Christmas and they were tight as hell, not any ball went unchallenged and my old man (now watching most of City’s games – £9.00 today!) tells me this has been case with every recent game. Players like the superb Harry McGuire just don’t know how to give up so there’s always an element of fight about them despite the threadbare squad.

It has just been one, long
hard-luck story for The Tigers this year but football is a fickle beast and out of adversity comes opportunity…I just wonder might this be Hull’s best opportunity to stop the tidal surge against them?

    Three selections to consider:

    BTTS…4/6
    ?????

    BTTS 1ST HALF…10/3
    ??

    BTTS BOTH HALVES…12/1
    ?

    Good luck ?

Let’s threesy up the Spurs win with a couple of DCs. Not sure what’s happening with Costa, except that he’s out today and I have it that his agent Jorges Mendes is reportedly currently in China. Leicester DC seems reasonable. I’m adding Sunderland to get something out of Stoke for a 7/2 treble (coral)

Morning fella’s, after blowing 3/4 of my betting kitty over the last 3 days on 3 losing singles, I’m hoping to get back on the horse with the remaining 1/4. I strongly fancy Charlton today to get revenge over Millwall following their 3-1 loss at the Den 3 weeks ago. Charlton have responded really well to the appointment of Karl Robinson and I think they’re overpriced at odds as big as 2/1. I’m on a Birmingham & Charlton wdw double. Good luck with your bets.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I’m sorry to hear but a betting kitty has to last more than 4 days.
If you divide into to at least 10 you should never bankrupt it.
Going 10 days in a row losing your full daily limit is almost impossible if you follow the best guys on here.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

No game to go today so walking down to the bookies with the dug to do some daft shop bets.
Check in later. Good luck to everyone with all of their bets.

    • forshie 7 years ago

Thanks for the advice Mr F. Appreciate the input. Part of my downfall was through lack of discipline i.e. betting on a fixture just cos it was there instead of placing the bet cos you’re confident in your selection. When your chasing losses, that can trip you up too and that’s when you need to be more disciplined and be patient. I’ll take on board what you’ve said tho. Cheers.

    • Jordan 7 years ago

@forshie, the majority of people on here bet on a fixture just because its there. I see double digit bets from some on here and then they chirp up about a couple of winners. Go with your one or two most confident selections, if they lose, look to the next day, and if you don’t fancy anything, don’t bet.

    • forshie 7 years ago

Cheers Jordan. I enjoy visiting this site. Its a great little community that’s been set up by Mr F and I have been following it for the past 18 months or so. I enjoy seeing the tips put up by yourself, Greg, Hull and other regular poster’s on here and I have won a few bets following these tips which I’ve been thankful for. I think I just need to have a better staking plan in place like Mr F said and be a bit more disciplined in my selections which you’ve mentioned and I’ll make my kitty go further and hopefully last longer haha. Thanks again mate and keep up the good work with your tips.

Anyone had this issue with Bet 365 before?

I placed an over 2.5fhg treble on 3 friendlies which were all 1-0 after about 10 mins so got similar odds on all games

It won and I was paid out and then about an hour later Bet 365 deducted my winnings, voided one leg of the treble which was 3-2 at half-time and re-settled it as a double which cost me about £40 winnings. All I can get out of them was that it was an incorrect fixture which I don’t know what they mean as a game was obviously played and I simply can’t believe they would get the names of the teams playing wrong. Getting nowhere on live chat and I hate this part of betting – must be the only business left where they can screw up and you lose out

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

These things happen sometimes in friendlies but they need to give you a proper reason.
Maybe it was youth teams that played or the fixture could have been changed at the last minute.

    Afternoon lads,

Good to see the Icelandic teams back in action but as advised in previous years, it will pay to keep your Nordic Powder dry for the most part and use these domestic pre-league cups to ‘inform form’ for the season proper.

Not to say there isn’t any games worth betting on though!

One that is worth a small interest later on kicks off at 17.15 and features two Reykjavic sides as they fight it out in (you guessed it) the Reykjavic Cup.

    KR VS. VÍKINGUR REYKJAVÍK:

Both sides had a strong finish to the Urvalsdeild campaign back in Autumn; Vikingur with 2 wins and 2 draws whilst KR ended with 6 back to back wins.

As an avid follower of these leaagues for some years, it was great to see Icelandic football have its profile raised so well by the National sides conquests at Euro 2016 and at a lesser, but still significant, level by KR themselves who had a fair bit of exposure during their European Cup exploits.

Historical H2Hs aren’t consistent enough to form any bullet-proof betting hypothesese BUT these two met at this point last year in the same Cup with the result being a 5 goal thriller!

    One selection for me:

    BTTS & KR WIN…9/5
    ???

    Best of luck.

Busy tonight gents and may not get on until tomorrow evening. So will put up tomorrow’s punt now.

    Manchester United Double Chance
    Espanyol To Score

    93/100 @ Coral – 5 points

After Liverpool’s defeat on Wednesday there were multiple claims that will not beat United tomorrow, and I’d have to agree. Klopp needs to be very careful as their replay at Plymouth falls on Wednesday. The last time Liverpool took any kind of result away from Old Trafford was almost three years ago when Gerrard and Suarez were still there. First time backing my own team this season so hopefully it’s not jinx.

Adding Espanyol to score against Valencia. I picked the Over 2.5 Goals when Valencia visited Osasuna on Monday, and the worst side in La Liga obliged to the total themselves by the time the final whistle was over. Espanyol have scored in their last seven visits to the Mestalla. Valencia did only play two days ago but the squad was extremely rotated.

    Holland Tweede Division

Kozakken Boys vs VVSB 2-1 at half time

Kozakken boys have seen 4 goals or more in their last 6 games, with all but one having 5 or more. They’ve had 7 shots on target in the first half so I think there’s a couple left in this for them

    Kozakken over 3.5 tg @ 3.00

      Shaker
Its raining goals here at a windy airfield.
Neither team can defend corners, it has the feel of an end of season game, though we need to win to keep in touch with bala and connahs quay for the euro places.
Should be at least 2 more goals.
Even that useless nardiello scored with his bonce.
Half time Bovril and hotpot now.
      Chow !

I know Richard – crackers! If you unpick the majority of recent Bury games, you’ll see that they lost but invariably they held it tight but capitulated late on…no surprise if you look at the injury hit squad.

Very, very similar to Hull City these last few months actually and a belting result for them!

I offered some sound advice this morning around maybe leaving these early Icelandic games to unfold and give indicators as to the season proper once it kicks off in earnest.

Like a complete knob, I ignored my own advice and was a KR goal short on the BTTS/Win selection.

Even more painfully, I added Over 2.5 goals to my three Welsh goal picks for a 4/1 Quad…you guessed it – 3 Welsh games sail in just now whilst the Icelandic leg falls a goal short.

    Silly boy ?

    Well done all winners today!

I fancy Cameroon to score, or at least outscore Burkina Faso.

BFA have the better of the midfield battle, but are rather wasteful in front of goal (in my opinion)
Cameroon on the other hand play a very physical game, bossing the ball and tackling meanly. There might be a few cards in this one, but my gut feeling tells me that Cameroon have the psychological edge and will fight for the points upto the last whistle.

I’m not having a bet though. Just sharing an opinion

    Early morning Down Under
    Newcastle Jet > 1.5 TGS 5/6
Given the way both teams are scoring and conceding game looks at good candidate for BTTS and Overs. They managed this away to Perth a month ago and since have scored 2,2,2 and 3 (whilst conceding 7 – hence the BTTS and Overs comment – the bookies have priced this outcome accordingly at 8/11)

    Napoli, Ajax, Nice > 1.5 TGS 1.5/1
    Plea ATGS 21/20
    Aspas ATGS 6/5

Both Plea and Aspas bang in form and like a goal against their respective opponents Metz and CD Alves – 3 and 2 in the last H2H’s …. In my view Plea is over priced – Nice are top, he’s their top scorer and its against Metz who are next to bottom of the league having conceded 36 in 18 (will regret saying that when he doesn’t score lol)

Rangers de Talca vs Coquimbo Unido (Chile Primera B) 11 pm

Rangers went through a low scoring patch in October but in the run up to Christmas each of their last 5 league games saw BTTS (4/5 over 2.5), followed by two friendlies with the same outcome. Coquimbo Unido similarly saw 5 out of their last 5 league games last season go BTTS (4/5 over 2.5).

Its a new season but I still feel these odds are fairly generous considering the most recent results of both sides:

    BTTS @ 17/20
    O2.5 mgls @ 23/20 (BetVictor)

  140. HullShaker 7 years ago

    Evening gents,

Aside from the Hull City game winners, it’s been a case of close but no cigar for me…hoping to nail that one down with a Night Owl and after having a good look at all the late games, I’ve narrowed it down to one that may just offer a shot (or two) at redemption…

SAN JUAN JABLOTEH VS. POLICE (23.00 KO):

The Trinidadian games appear to have picked up a little slower than their pre-Christmas counterparts…maybe too much turkey and Red Stripe?

This one is interesting for a number of reasons – the key one is that I find the prices for the home team just too short, or more’s to the point, the away team – Police – seem to be almost written off.

They have lost just one in 6 (and that to top side Western Connection) as opposed to SJ who have lost 50% of their own last 6!

Not going to trot out loads of flim-flam and I know we shouldn’t always give to much credence to H2H’s but in this case, I just can’t ignore it…

7 matches over the past 3 seasons with 3 in 2016 and another 3 in 2015 means there is certainly relevance to include this in our thinking and what a picture it is!

5-5-6-6-4-4-4 match goals across the 7 games…or put a different way; if you backed BTTS & OVER 3.5 MGS you would have won every time. In fact, out of those 7, BTTS & OVER 4.5 MGS would have won 4 times!

Five selections to consider – don’t back them all but in my humble opinion, they are all over-priced and represent potentially great value:

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…7/5
    ???

    OVER 3.5 MGS…11/8
    ????

    OVER 4.5 MGS…16/5
    ??

    BTTS 1ST HALF…11/4
    ??

    BTTS BOTH HALVES…17/2
    ?

    Best of luck ?
