THERE were a lot of goals in the Premier League but not in the two games I wanted.
Chelsea kept up their side of the bargain with the Super Single but Man City let me down as they failed to break down Everton.
Spurs v Leicester was well fancied on my both to score treble and over 2.5 goals was Greg's nap so a dramatic 1-0 win for the Foxes was a surprise and went against stats.
Southampton suddenly found some form so it was Watford double chance that beat my Top Treble with Stoke and Hull winning. Two out of three is OK but not good enough on a straight threefold.
I really fancied the Man City/Chelsea 2+ double but maybe I should have stuck with my Daily Record pick of Sunderland draw no bet.
So after a busy couple of days we have a quiet Thursday with a JP Trophy tie between Millwall and Oxford and two Spanish Cup clashes. Valencia take a 4-0 lead to Granada so it's basically a dead rubber while Atletico Madrid entertain Rayo Vallecano after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
There's little else to look and I've deciced to put nothing up with my emphasis now on the weekend card. I've placed a personal bet for a little interest – Besiktas, Atletico Madrid and Celtic tomorrow – but it pays no more than evens.

The return of the Chile Clausara sees a few games that, going by previous games, should be riddled with corners with the best bet Huachipato v Uni de Conception on Sunday and 2nd best Palestino v Audux Italiano on Monday. No prices yet and 1st games always dodgy but I’ll be having a few bets on Huachipato game including the usual RT7 and overs with small stakes on RT9 and 15+ corners
Also other 2 uni teams, de chile and catolica were good for RT markets last yr
Agree with craneguy about the EPL. This season is like no other. Teams seem to be as good as each other on the day. Lots of draws/evenly matched teams. United and chelsea are ordinary. Arsenal and city prone to slip ups.
My advice is avoid man city. You never know what you are going to get. Other teams to avoid for me would be derby county, southampton and west ham. Total wild cards and have either let me down or stepped up when betting against them.
I know the Premier League gets its stick when the teams play the bigger clubs in Europe. But for me its the best league in the world just for the competition factor. Look at Ligue 1, Bundesliga and La Liga. All dominated by one or two teams. No fun involved!

I just wrote a huge reply stating why La Liga was the best and closed the window just before posting, just about burst into tears! Firstly football is a form of entertainment which seems to get forgotten about in England, this is down to the fact that there is too much money at stake, as a result this brings a focus on tactics and defensive game plans like playing for a 0-0 draw. In La Liga teams play to win and to try and entertain with a focus on passing, possession, attacking and technical ability, the fans appreciate this. I suppose it’s a cultural thing, Europeans want class and beauty, they don’t want to win dirty. The referees also play a part, in England you can commit a foul without getting booked, allowing your team to get back in to their defensive shape. Your far more likely to get booked for challenges in Spain which stops the player doing it again or gets them sent off later. Maybe a few years ago when English teams were consistently getting to Semis, Finals and winning the champions league but now Spanish teams (along with Bayern) dominate the champions league and also the Europa League (Sevilla do that on their own!), look at their national side in recent years, they’ve dominated Europe and the World. England barely make it to a QF, in recent competitions: 2006 QF, 2008 FAILED to qualify, 2010 2nd round, 2012 QF, 2014 Group Stage. Look at the H2H matches between the “Big teams” or title challengers, this season for example: Man U v Man City 0-0, Arsenal v Liverpool 0-0, Man U v Chelsea 0-0, Spurs v Chelsea 0-0, Leicester 0-0 Man City, teams go in to these matches with the negative view of not giving anything away, where as in La Liga Barca and Real see it as 6 points and go for it, like the game at the Bernabeu Real 0-4 Barca. Final point, you’d expect to see the best players in the best league in the world (or at least some? One even?!) FIFA Team of the year – Not one English based player – 8 of the 11 from La Liga. I rest my case.
Some very good points davisam. La liga defo the most technically skilled league but for me the best mix of BPL competitiveness and La liga technical skill is the Bundesliga. Bayern are on a par with Real Madrid skill wise and along with Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Munchengladbach, they play as exciting footy as you’ll see anywhere. Very few boring games there, it was the highest scoring league of all major leagues last season.
Best league for competiveness. Long way behind other leagues in terms of how good the best teams actually are. Plenty of cracking games but plenty of terrible ones too. I wouldn’t open the curtains if the likes of villa Sunderland Norwich west brom Swansea were playing each other in my back garden

Hull at home to Charlton this wknd must be in every acca going, only 2/5 but top home team v 2nd bottom away on the form tables. Only Derby have beaten Hull at home this season with QPR & Blackburn getting a point, Charlton won 2-1 in the reverse fixture at the start of the season so will be looking for revenge
