TopTips_10Bet

IT was another small profit for anyone who followed the Super Single and Daily Double but it could have been so much better.

West Ham scuppered the Super Single against 10-man Everton and while I couldn't give out any advice as I was out I hope anyone with a decent stake on the Hammers at least covered the draw after Aiden McGeady walked.

Bristol City and AC Milan brought up the Daily Double and on a quiet night I've got to be satisfied with that.

There are another three FA Cup replays to look at on Wednesday – Bradford v Millwall, Ipswich v Southampton and Spurs v Burnley – and I'll put a separate preview with team news.

On the continent there are four Spanish Cup clashes as well as ties in Italy, France and Portugal and having looked at all the main games in more detail I've decided to put my faith in Saints as the Super Single at slightly under evens.

My preview highlights the fact Ipswich's squad has been hit by a virus and even if the players make it they won't be at their best. Mick McCarthy says he would be making five or six changes anyway while Saints boss Ronald Koeman promises to put out a strong side and he must recognise the way his side are playing they have a chance of going all the way to Wembley.

For the Top Treble I'm going with Braga to beat Academica in the Portuguese League Cup. Both sides will be weakened – Braga possibly less so – but I can't see Academica having a chance without their full team.

In the Spanish Cup the best bets look to be Sevilla at home to Granada. Sevilla lead 2-1 from the first leg but I don't see them letting up – it's not their style.

Sevilla thrashed Granada 5-1 in the league in November and it was 4-0 and 3-0 in the past two seasons – and of course the only concern I have is a draw will be good enough.

Complete the treble with over 2.5 goals at Torino v Lazio. The Romans have netted exactly two goals in their last three away games at Roma, Inter and Parma and are unbeaten in seven. Torino haven't lost in six so are returning to form but the opposition they've faced in that spell wasn't great.

I thought about Lazio to win at 13-8 with William Hill but they'll probably concede so 13-10 with McBookie and BetVictor on over 2.5 goals is too good to miss.

For a goals treble I've taken matches at Torino and Sevilla and added under 2.5 goals at Monaco v Guingamp in the French League Cup. Monaco are unbeaten in eight and seven clean sheets in that run is almost Aberdeenesque – in fact their last 10 have gone under 2.5 goals.

Guingamp have won seven of their last eight and six of those matches have been under 2.5 goals. They lost 1-0 at Monaco in the league this season and drew 1-1 there last season.

Mr F must still be in shock after the bar bill at his daughters 17th :-)

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

David, bar bill wasn’t an issue – it’s another year before she can have a drink (legally). She couldn’t even try to have a glass of wine in the restuarant tonight as the balloons and cake gave her age away.

Italian cup Lazio against Torino is a good bet. However, I’ll wait for team news before I take my bet on them.

  6. Coatsey 9 years ago

Mr F – I’m a relative new user to your site and intend only to tip half a dozen selections over the course of a week. Like many others, I come across what I regard as value bets (this Sat Dover @ 4/6 and Derby earlier in the week were 4/5…others on your site, including you, have bigged up Hearts against Rangers).

Trouble is, not everyone has the time to trawl the comments religiously so it got me thinking. I know you’ve only just changed the non tips element to separate out gossip from tips but what about having up to a week ahead whereby punters can tip right now some early thoughts for Friday or Saturday? At least that way if a punter views Saturdays page tomorrow or on the day, the tips will still be valid? It would at least avoid daily tips being missed and allow some value in the prices to be had. And the beauty is those tips will relate to that particular day as early thoughts are often mentioned.

You could still have your current day at the top of your site (tomorrow being Wed) and then Sunday backwards to Thursday underneath. Like I said, its only a thought! Whether you like the idea or not, you’ve got a great site here and lots of valuable info so keep up the great work.

So, let me finish by bigging up a Derby / Dover double (5 pts)

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Coatsey, I’m not sure how that will work – but we’re trying to bring in the changes we’ve been planning for a while which will allow posts on almost anything.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

dawnrising, went through a bad patch and then Jefferies quit so now have a young player-manager in Potter. They don’t have any money like many teams and for me Stranraer will win the league.

  17. Broxi 9 years ago

My single will be Southampton tomorrow. Southampton are expected to name a strong team. Ipswich missing a few players through a virus and McCarthy has already said that he will make changes. The only worry for Southampton is they are missing two centre halves, however, they still have Fonte and Gardos and should prove too strong. With this in mind might have a wee go at btts as well.

  24. Crofty 9 years ago

    Morning all

Mr F I agree with you about your recommendation of backing Southampton tonight but being an Ipswich fan it’s a bet I could never do.

I myself am going to be doing a couple of small anytime goal scorer bets.

We (Ipswich) are fairly good on set pieces with both Tommy Smith (5 goals) and Christophe Berra (4 goals) having had some success this season both should start and are both 14/1 with bet365 to score anytime.

These are both central defenders so will be unlikely from open play but at set pieces this will have a chance.

Good luck with all your bets (apart from those that back the saints) lol

OMONIA NICOSIA WIN (3PM, CYPRUS CUP)
BRAGA WIN (4.30PM, PORTUGAL LEAGUE CUP)

Odds are 2.19/1 at the minute.

Not too sure what to make of our chance tonight v Millwall.
Our pitch is a disgrace ATM.
We make plenty if chances but fail to put 90% of them away.
The team has a never say die attitude and the lure of Chelsea is as big an incentive as it gets.
We absolutely battered Rochdale on Saturday after going down to 10 men after 10 mins but fell to a 94th min goal.
Good luck to anybody picking us tonight, at least you’ll get a good run for your money.

    1pm kick off

    Greek Superleague

    Panthraikos v Kerkyra

Panth’s last four home games have seen less than 3 goals scored with them only managing two goals in that time. The visitors have only scored three times in their last four away matches.

Both sides have rarely hit the ov 2.5 this season and I see this trend continuing.

Hello all, I have been a ‘viewer’ of this site amongst many others for sometime now. I regularly use the normal sites for research that I suspect most of you use (Soccerway, Sportinglife, Teamtalk, windrawwin etc) and of course I do have my ‘gut instict’ which in some cases does prove to be more profitable than stats. Over the last year I had a points profit of 136 which could have been a lot more but for those dreaded last minute equalisers, sendings off or penalties that should never have been but I expect we all have numerous ‘if only’ stories.
Anyway intro over – I decided that I would start joining in as I seem to be spending more and more time as a viewer and I thought why not share my views. I have no particular system nor do I have a set pattern. Sometimes I will lump on a single others an acca. I do tend to use the handicap betting with teams to boost short prices and for those who like the BTTS then I never consider this.

    Anyway, hello all:

This week I placed two bets which have either finished or are part completed but it is an FYI to you all, follow if you wish, comment if you wish and insult if you wish – I like the banter:

    Single:
    Swindon -1 100/30 WINNER

    Acca:

    Tue Bristol City 4/5 Won
    Tue Porto (TDL) 1/10 Won
    Wed Sevilla (CDR) 2/5
    Wed Benfica (TDL) 1/6
    Sat Watford 4/6
    Sat Shrewsbury 2/5
    Sat Valencia 1/3
    Sun Atheltic Madrid -1 4/6

    Good luck all.

Halifax just about got the SS for me yesterday, even if they decided to go on a red card rampage.

A big SS for me today. Guincamp draw-no-bet away to Monaco at about 7/2. Monaco have bigger concerns (CL, making the top 3) than the French League Cup, while Guincamp are on a decent run so you never know. I might revise this opinion when Monaco are 3-0 up at half-time but right now, there looks to be value at these odds.

top tip terry, on current form and performance levels it has to be Hearts and that’s what I’m going on. I accept Rangers can dig in and get results at home to better sides but so far they’ve lost all of their league games to Hearts and Hibs this season.

    • raaljaca 9 years ago

      RANGERS V HEARTS

This is my honest opinion, unbiased, that is based on what I see from each side. Rangers are a club in turmoil both on and off the pitch and it is well documented. The players are NOT playing to the best of their ability as they simply lack motivation. They do have some decent players at this level but they are also carrying others who are simply there for the money. Their forwards are very very poor, Boyd and Miller, but they have goalscorers in Law, Aird and Daly at times. Defensively they are a mess and having seen Lee Wallace come through the ranks at Tynecastle he is not anywhere near the player he was and although they can defend at times the pressure on these guys at present is horrendous. The management is a simple patchwork job that is only temporary and with each months pay day going ahead with borrowed money this whole set up lacks stability. Hearts are exactly the opposite, a club now on a sound financial footing with a very young but experienced team. We have players who make mistakes like anyone else but our defensive record speaks for itself, 10 goals conceded in 20 games. Up front we have an excellent striker in Keatings but he cannot play as the lone front man and away from home he needs support, this has come in the shape of Zeefuik and we will also have Sow back possibly for Friday. Where Hearts excel is in the pace on the wings and through the middle in Walker, Nicholson, King and McGhee with the added bonus of having two excellent full backs who can over lap and attack, Eckersley and Paterson. Our midfield is improving game by game with Prince Buaben, Pallardo and Gomis dominating most games along with Ozturk. We do have weaknesses without doubt as some are not consistent but the overall difference with us is we will make chance after chance and torment defences and with every outfield player having scored this season it shows we can strike from anywhere. Our management team of Levein and Neilson will not have one ounce of fear in going to Ibrox whereas Rangers know if we avoid defeat it is game over in the league. I honestly do not see us losing and can also see Rangers collapsing if we score first. Make of it what you will but two goals should not be beyond Hearts and I would expect the Rangers fans to turn on their team should we take the lead.

      I wouldn’t go -1 today.
Bangor had 4 new signings on Saturday and we won our 1st home game on Saturday, and importantly had a new keeper who can catch the ball.
And with the game being in Rhys you can ignore bala’s home form.
Bala might well win, but I reckon 2-1 or 3-2 if they do.
I would go bts and over 2.5 match goals at 4-5
      Bangor +2 handicap at 8-11
The weather forecast is crap so that may also negate bala’s better form

    • raaljaca 9 years ago

gg1a, I would avoid the cards market as Bobby Madden the ref tends not to over react unlike some.

  60. Broxi 9 years ago

Raalijaca don’t think I can take any write up seriously where you highlight Aird as a goal threat. He’s scored one goal all season and has been on the bench in recent games. I don’t consider Rangers forwards to be poor, at championship level Miller, Daly, Boyd and Clark are pretty strong. The game could go either way for me and is one to avoid.

    • raaljaca 9 years ago

Broxi, from what I have seen of Aird he gets into decent positions and would be dangerous with more match time. Boyd and Miller are a complete and utter joke outside of Glasgow given what it was said they would score goals wise this season.

    bala -1 now evens
    for comparison
this bet is 1.5 on bet365

these guys, had daly been playing with the big boys:)
he,d be into double figures , check his career with d utd
    so somethings wrong bud

    hearts forwards 28 goals
    rangers forwards 15 goals

    Thinking
    Sevilla win
    Bala town
    Benfica -1

Anything I should be weary about??

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Lukeyboy, I don’t follow Welsh football but someone pointed out earlier that Bala have moved the game to Rhyl. We lost the top tips post earlier for some reason and the comments attached to it but admin will restore them if possible.

  64. Lukeyboy 9 years ago

Thanks for the reply mr.f think I’ll leave them be,

No one seems to have mentioned spurs?
Think they’ll have enough to see off burnley tonight

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Lukeyboy, if Kane was playing I’d be on them in a flash. Looks like he’ll be rested and Spurs have quite a few missing. It’s one to leave until you see teams.

Good afternoon guys . Having pulled in a nice treble yesterday hoping to do the same again today which I believe is a more difficult evening than yesterday . Having scoured Europe I have decided to focus on the F.A cup.

    Bradford over 0.5 team goals
    Southampton to qualify
Tottenham v Burnley over 1.5 match goals
Treble pays over evens at boylesports ladbrokes coral william hill and betway.

    Reasoning
Bradford have scored in 9 of the last 10 home games however millwall have kept two clean sheets in the last 5 away games they have conceded 9 in the other 3. So it appears either Millwall are hit and miss at the back the previous game was 3-3 which forces this replay.

Southampton to qualify this will be a team news is key situation but I believe that Southampton will be buoyed by the victory at old Trafford and with the cup exit to Sheffield United still fresh in koemans mind I think the saints will be bang up for this. I think Ronald Koeman wants a cup run you only have to see how furious he was about the exit from capital one cup. I am reading that Ipswich my have 3 midfield players missing but I am not 100% on how accurate that is but I do feel Southampton should be able to edge past Ipswich on the night and the to qualify option keeps your interest in to extra time and beyond if necessary .

Tottenham v Burnley 7 of the last 10 Spurs home games have seen over 1.5 match goals and all 3 of Burnleys most recent visits to white hart lane have also seen over 1.5 match goals. 8 of Burnleys last 10 away games have seen over 1.5 match goals and the reason a replay is needed tonight is because it ended 1-1 at turf moor .

Best of luck if you choose to get on this and best of luck to all with your bets this evening :-)

Thanks Raaj, a drop in a ocean of debt and running costs. Hope end comes soon, with some saviours taking shares for fans then long road to develop core and structure – decades not year to challenging SPL. Teddy bear and we look fragile to any team now, especially at home so hearts on the minus – basically hearts first goal and going one way.

  81. GaryEdinburgh 9 years ago

    My tip,

In play fun, Monaco v 10 men at H/T, race to 9 corners Monaco 3/1 at 365 (got 4 in 10 min’s since player off)

Tonight, Southampton -1 goal (2/1), cup game and no point exiting by one so take chance handicap covered.
