THE Australian Open is just a week away and British No.2 Aljaz Bedene is aiming to head into the Grand Slam on a high with another solid showing in the final build-up event.
Bedene, beaten in the semis of the Chennai Open on Saturday, has a tough start to his Auckland Open campaign tonight when he faces Sam Querrey.

It was horrible that my best bet of the weekend lost and still I am apologetic to those that followed, but did manage to pull the majority of the losses back. Like I said I guaranteed that the Packers game would go over the total of 46.5 but wasn’t going to make anyone who followed the Seahawks bet try and recoup losses on that. Did post the Packers in play to cover the 6 which they did with ease in the 4th. Reeds yards were in by the 2nd quarter and the highest scoring game this weekend won with ease. John it certainly isn’t a bet I would jump on in a flash but it is very much possible. It all depends on the health of the Pats who have really suffered with the amount of injuries recently. Will keep an eye in the week but I think the best value will probably be the Cardinals at home against my Packers who were absolutely destroyed there a couple of weeks ago.

Khimki have lost 3 matches on the road but I don’t think Astana will have enough in their locker to make it a 4th. Can easily see Khmiki winning by 20+ in a high scoring game.
Completely agree. Their 3 losses came against Unics, Nizhny and CSKA who are easily the better/best teams in the VTB.
Khimki do struggle away but like you pointed out…only against good teams. Astana are average at best. One I like the look of is Riga to cover +11.5 at home to Kuban. They never seem to lose by much against the top teams in the VTB and Kuban can be hit or miss. Coved this spread with some to spare in all 4 H2H. One negative though is that Kuban seem to travel well. Maybe one to mull over anyway.

Just a little one here. Last time out against Sacramento, Klay Thompson went 1-7 from behind the arc. That will not happen two games in a row. In January, Klay is averaging 28.6 points per game, 3.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds. Some will know that Klay could easily score 30 on any given night (he had done it in his last 3 prior to the slump against Sacramento). This could be a fair steal!

Not so much a tip. More interest as the NBA slate is so poor. The NCAAF Championship will be played tonight between Clemson and Alabama. While I like Bama to win and cover with their defense, I can’t bring myself to back them on the spread after the torrid bowl games a few weeks ago. Clemson rank just outside the top 10 in their pass defense but drop into the 30’s when you see their rush defense. Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry is the workhorse on the ground for Bama and is likely to be the 1st running back out of the draft this year. His rush yards are 138.5 which is probably about right, but too high for me to put a stake on, so I’m going to go with their second string senior Kenyan Drake to surpass his low total of 22.5 rushing yards. Drake broke out against Michigan State for a 58 yard gain. He doesn’t get a lot of work, but might do in this Championship game. Bama will need to keep the ball out of the hands of Clemsons dual threat QB Deshaun Watson, and a heavy run game should be the method.

Turned out to be a terrible bet. Still not quite sure why they’re was so much money going on Tiblisi but the market shifted dramatically over the space of a few hours. As I said in the write up, Tiblisi were without 3 of their best players and since then have been losing games by 50 points and even before then we’re losing by 30 points.

As much as it pains me, I can’t see Clemson winning the Championship game tonight. I hope they do, but realistically speaking, it will be very hard against a more loaded Bama roster.
Trying to find value in this game is hard but I am putting a little on Clemson to win 1st quarter (12/5), I was going to also bet on Clemson over 3.5 1st half point, but lines have since changed to 2.5 points and only pays 20/27.
Clemson will come out swinging, no doubt. Adrenaline, youth and Coach Sweeney’s pep talk. Given the strength of Bama’s front 7, the way to counter this will be to go up-tempo in the offense and whilst fresh, I believe they can put a score up on the Bama’s D. Bama’s offense usually start slow, relies on the defense to make opponents go 3 and outs and giving oppositions defense little time to recover from the pounding up front by the likes of Henry and the O-line.

Mega Cu#ts let the other fourfold losing by 5 after a shocking 1st Quarter. I spoke about the limited markets with betfair being an issue but it was my selection that let me down in the end. Tonights NBA Picks (trying 3 doubles at evens tonight) :
– Warriors -9.5 & Warriors/Heat over 199.5 (just to keep it under -10 and under 200 :D) : It’s the Warriors playing. Heat might have some injury issues (Wade, Whiteside).
– Bulls -3.5 & Bulls/Wizards under 214.5 : Bulls are eager to get a win after their loss against the Hawks, Wizards should be without 1-2 key players (Gortat, Wall possibly).
– Spurs -8.5 & Spurs/Nets over 187.5 : Nets are without Jarret Jack and without a coach.

Torn between whether to take spurs and bulls on the smaller handicap or gsw half time full time, Spurs half time full time and bulls money line pays evens but not sure about the ht ft market in case one of them starts slow
Personally I don’t like HT/FT markets although Spurs and Warriors ‘should’ really nail their respective games.
My confidence in the Bulls is really based on the Wizards injuries and the fact they’ll want to bounce back at home from that loss against the Hawks.
Heat are ranked 24th in 3 point shooting % … playing against the best team.

You know you’re not doing anything wrong when you’re on the same line as Huggybear on the NBA. Spurs will need to keep the rythm high and not rest their players against a banged up Nets team but 104 is very achievable. Regarding Warriors/Heat i’d be very surprised if it goes under 200 but infortunatly nothing is guaranteed ;-)
