WE'RE getting back to normal as far as football betting's concerned and that should be good news for punters.

Most people have clocked up losses since Boxing Day although bookies claim they're still down after suffering their biggest-ever one-day loss of £30 million on predominantly Premier League football.

From my first look at the card here I've put together a Super Single shortlist. Remember this is from looking at form and stats but not team news – I'll check latest team news tomorrow before making my choice.

All of these sides are evens or above but at just under evens the one that catches my eye is Man City at 10-11 at Everton. Also I can't believe Bournemouth are 1-1 at home to Norwich even if new boss Alex Neil is in charge of the Canaries.

Super Single shortlist

Swansea v WEST HAM

WEST BROM v Hull

BIRMINGHAM v Wigan

BOLTON v Leeds

BOURNEMOUTH v Norwich

Reading v MIDDLESBROUGH

CREWE v Gillingham

Oldham v DONCASTER

ALLOA dnb v Rangers

STRANRAER v Forfar

You do get your 1 and 2 mixed up a lot, Mr F!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Lyall, sorted it straight away – 1 and 2 are too close on the keyboard. Sleet and hailstones have stopped so off to walk the dug.

  2. Black&red14 9 years ago

    My SS Doncaster@oldham 21/10, gl

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Black&red14, we know about Donny’s away form and I wonder how the Ched Evans situation will affect Oldham. I see they’ve decided not to sign him now because of the backlash. What did they expect fans to send them flowers?

    • Black&red14 9 years ago

That’s my thinking mr f,it must affect there pre match preparations! With media, some fans displeasure, I’ve also done west Brom so pleased to see you putting them on your short list,I’m also on Ipswich,gl

    I like the ‘Three B’s’ Mr F!

  4. Mr Fishman 9 years ago

Burnley have been playing really well recently against a qpr side who lost to sheffield utd with a full strength team , oh yea qpr record away from home is played 9 lost 9 aswell

Great Vaule 6/5 or 1/2 dnb

  5. el tel 9 years ago

Personally think its a weekend of teams beginning with B . A lot of them on form look pretty good.
Bournemouth ( truely don’t get the odds there )
Burnley ( been picking up lately and qpr away well haha)
    Bolton
    Blues
    Bristol City
    Burton
    Brentford
    Bradford
Now I no this a massive acca , but on form these all have a reasonable chance .
Odds come to 148-1. Gotta be worth a small punt

  6. Sir.Kings 9 years ago

Westham to win,Bournemouth to win Burnley to win….Forget about the Dnb against Rangers Mr.Fix

Berahino to score and WBA win 12/5 Betvictor

  8. kevin 9 years ago

    barnsley?

  9. daz 9 years ago

Beware Pulis allegedly wants to sell Berahino as quick as possible to fund team strengthening.

  10. Ian Menzies 9 years ago

Ipswich at home to Derby 7/5

  11. daz 9 years ago

West brom at evens v hull.Pulis should start his EPL campaign with a win as long as Berahino starts and not sold.

  12. James M 9 years ago

    West Brom for SS

  13. DM 9 years ago

Surely Man city is the super single

  14. Danny 9 years ago

West Brom is a good SS. Being a Hull fan I remember Pulis being in the stands waiting to take over Palace last season and they did a job on us at the KC. That was before he even took over so he definitely implements his ideas on teams from a very early start. I won’t be touching the SS of course but it definitely should be taken into consideration.

  15. Willie McGuire 9 years ago

    I had
WBA, Bournemouth And Stranraer on my list Paul.

Also cant believe Man City are 10/11 against an Everton side short of confidence and form.

  16. daz 9 years ago

Everton are away 3 days later in the FA Cup at West Ham.

  17. Moses Mejia 9 years ago

Play for Barsa:Ter Stegen; Alves, Piqué, Bartra, Alba; Mascherano, Rakitic, Sergi Roberto; Luis Suárez, Messi and Neymar

    Thoughts on these possible teams

    Man City
    Bournemouth
    Middlesbrough
    Chelsea
    Bolton

    ???

Questions asked on Middlesbrough and Bolton, what are your views MrF?

    • cooperd 9 years ago

in boltons last 20 home games they havent lost to teams in the bottom half of the table, (w12 d8) hope that helps :)

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

cooperd, it’s a good stat – Bolton are in my thoughts anyway.

  19. Wessy 9 years ago

I agree Man City are good value.

I am a season ticket holder at Bolton the difference since Lennon took over is quite astonishing.I expect our home form to continue and beat Leeds however having lost Clayton and Mark Davies to injury Lennon put faith in Chung Young Lee he has been different class but is away now in Asia. Enter Zat Clough a real talent but will be making his league debut if selected and only 19 years old.

  20. Wessy 9 years ago

Just to buck the trend i had 5 winning bets over the holidays including Sheff Utd to beat QPR and Rochdale to beat Forest.my super singles.
So some value still to be found with a cup shock.

  21. I'm a Lucky Punt 9 years ago

SS Bournemouth vs Norwich both to score in first half 10/3 or safer, btts and over 2.5 goals 11/10 both at Bet365.

  22. Ryan 9 years ago

What about Tottenham away to Crystal Palace @2.10 on william hill

  23. JonnyUTD 9 years ago

    View on Marseille tomorrow?

  24. Wessy 9 years ago

Forest are worth opposing Sheff Wed at a decent price?

    • nathan ufton 9 years ago

      Forest couldn’t win a 1 ticket raffle.

  25. JonnyUTD 9 years ago

I thought tottenham was a good price also, but they are always a team I hate to back

    • Alva Glen 9 years ago

They are a good team to back the now esp. btts and win.Anybody that wins you money I love.

  26. momo 9 years ago

SS has to be Sunderland or draw at 2.0 vs liverpool!

liverpool so poor at the moment just about beat wimbledon with their first team

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

momo, it definitely won’t be Sunderland – not impressed by either side.

  27. stagger 9 years ago

A resurgent Brigton (well, sort of) are a stingy 5/4 to win at Charlton. They should have Colunga, Forster-Casker and Bennett back this week, so Hughton has options. Charlton are missing keeper Henderson, injury, and Buyens (red card last week)
I’m only going by browsing the club’s websites. There’s about 8 points between Charlton and Brighton but I fancy the blues to do the bizzo as a super single. The price does seem a bit mean, though. I’m a bit nervous about backing an away win, which probably means I shouldn’t do it. I think I’ll wait for a day for more team news, and hopefully a better price on Brighton.

  28. Aura 9 years ago

Tottenham are a good shout though I also hate to back them

  29. Aura 9 years ago

they also play better away from home

  30. JonnyUTD 9 years ago

Im looking at them 5 teams I suggested, but splitting them up into 3 different bets. A 5 fold small stake accumulator, a treble, and a double.

Also thinking 5pts on Marseille tomorrow, but wanting to hear peoples views?

  31. Jay 9 years ago

Man Utd at 3/4 to beat Southampton.

Looks like good value to me.

  32. leecunliffe 9 years ago

West brom or Wycombe for me with Newport in my shortlist of teams to bet on all around evens

  33. Alan 9 years ago

I like the look of West Brom and Bolton. They may even be worth a double, which comes in at over 3/1

  34. nathan ufton 9 years ago

On your shortlist, I like the look of Middlesborough and although the stats and form suggest Bournmouth will beat Norwich, that game could well be the banana skin of the weekend. I know Norwich have struggled to really get going of late but do Bournmouth have the squad to cope with the 2nd half of the season? They’ll wobble at some point, why not this weekend.

  35. Alva Glen 9 years ago

Sunderland or draw – Chelsea have only took a point in the NE this season and Liverpool were red rotten at Newcastle .Alloa or draw – nothing has changed at Ibrox the way Rangers play .

  36. Alva Glen 9 years ago

Treb for Sat. Chelsea -1,Hearts & Aberdeen .

  37. Cartman 9 years ago

What about Valencia priced 17/10 away to a struggling celta vigo

  38. Meatballdrex 9 years ago

El Tel is right teams beginning with B are looking to be form teams playing weaker teams.

Burnley, Birmingham, Brentford, Bournemouth, Bolton, Barnsley, Bradford,

In fact if you add them to Cardiff, Ipswich , Peterborough and Walsall ,Exeter ,Newport it pays 72000-1 too risky but a better bet would cover all 1 X that pays 50-1

That worth a quid 14 teams not too loose

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Meatballdrex, if you like the Bs you could add Brechin and Bristol City.

  39. celestihell 9 years ago

    Burton

    Newport

    Hearts

To win. £20 stake. £100 return.

  40. billmac 9 years ago

birmingham jut jumped out to 13/8 on williamhill
    looks ood bet for ss.

  41. EdRhodes89 9 years ago

I fancy Chris Zebroski to net this weekend. I’ll post a proper goalscorers preview on a few games tomorrow when line ups are announced.

  42. mlac 9 years ago

its worth remembering palace are missing 2 key players in jedinak and bolasie.
they should be spurred on (no pun intended) by playing their first home game under pardew, and were unlucky to lose to us last time out.

I reckon it will probobly be a draw tho@5/2 but we could nick it. 6/5 spurs win.

also swansea missing their 2 key players in ki and bony. west ham double chance @2/3 for me.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

mlac, in the Record tomorrow I’ve taken West Ham draw no bet at 29-20 with BetVictor and McBookie which I think is big. Right, off to the office for a couple of hours.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

mlac, in the Record tomorrow I’ve taken West Ham draw no bet at 29-20 with BetVictor and McBookie which I think is big. Right, off to the office for a couple of hours.

  43. Gary 9 years ago

    Top fourfold
    Bristol City
    Aberdeen
    Hibs
    Hearts

  44. stagger 9 years ago

Re my above post, I waited a day and sure enough Brighton has drifted to 27/20 from 5/4 yesterday. I think I’ll wait a while longer.

  45. Oggy 9 years ago

Like the look of Doncaster at 21/10 just for the sheer combination of Factors. Oldham on a really poor run of results which can’t have been helped by this week’s distractions, Dickov returning to Boundary park and Doncaster’s away form. All adds up to me not being able to resist having a go. Got a single on Doncaster win and got the DNB in an acca.

  46. JonnyUTD 9 years ago

MrF, need some response please on this 4 fold

    Man City
    Bournemouth
    Bolton
    Burton

    Verdict? potential super 4 !

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

JonnyUtd, just back from the office – looks solid to me but as it’s fourfold don’t expect it to land – just hope for the best.

  47. MFC 9 years ago

    Spurs BTTS and win
    Bournemouth BTTS and win
    Boro BTTS and win

    Works out around 110/1

  48. JonnyUTD 9 years ago

Cheers MrF, I’ll put 1pt on it

  49. abi 9 years ago

I prefer these teams for tomorrow:
    bolton win
    middlesbrough win
    bradford win
    burton win
    newport win
    birmingham win
    any thoughts?
