THERE wasn't much to look at on Monday but myself, Greg and Jordan all came to the conclusion there would be goals at Cambridge and Osasuna.

I tipped both to score in the matches while Greg backed over 2.5 at Cambridge v Leeds and Jordan over 2.5 at Osasuna v Valencia.

My only negative was putting 1pt on Cambridge to win after seeing the line-ups and pitch. Leeds made eight changes and struggled on a heavy surface but were much better after the break and improved when Garry Monk made changes and the rain ceased.

I only posted it a few minutes before kick-off so not many would have been on and those who did could have covered but I didn't because I wanted a Leeds goal for the double.

Tonight it's all about Man United v Hull in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final. I put up Man Utd -2AH as a Super Single yesterday and with news the Tigers could be without six defenders I'm even more confident – and have added 1pt to it. Check out the full preview.

Elsewhere there are two French League Cup quarter-finals with Nantes facing Nancy and Sochaux taking on Monaco.

Napoli face Spezia in the Italian Cup and Atletico Madrid tackle Las Palmas at home after winning 2-0 away.

I'm reluctant to do anything on the cup games until line-ups are revealed but I'm adding a goals treble. Jordan's posted a write-up on goals at Eastleigh v Forest Green and it's difficult to argue so I'm on over 2.5. FG's last three matches have totalled 23 goals and the last two meetings at Eastleigh were 3-2 and 2-2.

Adding btts at Macclesfield v Dover and going with form as opposed to h2h. The last two meetings were 0-0 and 1-0 but four of Maccs' last five and Dover's previous seven have seen both sides hit the target.

I'm completing the treble with over 2.5 goals at Man Utd v Hull and it's likely I'll need the home side to net all of them.

    #1 BTTS YES Double
The cops’ last 7 league aways have gone YES and they visit Sudbury who have scored in all their 13 league homes bar one.
And look at Forest Green who’ve found the net in 12 of their 13 league aways. Their last three aways alone have seen them score 9 and concede eight.

Sudbury v Metropolitan Police (Ryman Premier)
Easteigh v Forest Green (National League)

    Hello all contributors and readers,

I’m Matrix and all I do is back goals in obscure leagues where value is to be had. I’ve done some proper research and I expect the following games to see goals tomorrow:

07:30 Vietnam youth league – Long An youth vs. Ho Chi Minh youth

09:30 Vietnam youth league – Dong Nai youth vs. PVF Vietnam youth

10:00 Czech midseason tournament Pribram vs. Taborsko

12:00 German friendly – Hansa Rostock vs. Görmin

13:30 Granatkin memorial – India youth vs. Belarus youth

15:00 Portugal youth league – Benfica youth vs. Estoril youth

15:00 Czech friendly – Hradec Kralove youth vs. MFK Chrudim

15:30 German friendly – MSV Duisburg vs. Viktoria Buchholz

16:00 Granatkin Memorial cup – Russia u18 vs. Latvia u18

17:00 Israelian women first division vs. Girls Soccer academy women – Bnot Sakhnin women

17:30 Dutch friendly Excelsior Rotterdam reserves vs. Excelsior Maassluis

19:00 Flaxafloi Cup – Breidablik women vs. Haukar women

20:15 Fotbolti Cup – Stjarnan women vs. Akranes women

20:45 Sao Paulo Youth cup vs. Sao Paulo youth- Chapacoense youth

Sadly most odds will come available by kick-off. Watch out for them in-play! Usually go for over 1.5 first half goals and over 3.5 match goals. Best of luck to all.

    MAN UTD VS. HULL CITY:

The Gaffer’s said it all in his Cup write-up and it could be a long night for the Tigers.

Mr F – add into the mix that two of Hull’s better performers are away on Africa Cup of Nations duty…threadbare doesn’t even come close.

Without a doubt, City (or at least their strongest 11) will be looking ahead to The Cherries visit on Saturday.

With Mourinho set to play a strong line-up featuring Pogba, Ibra et al, it could be painful.

  16. Jordan 7 years ago

Hi gents. Another rotten card but hopefully found some value in the VNL. Forest Green head to Eastleigh with both sides scoring and conceding plenty over their last five. Forest Green have scored 15 in that spell, conceding 14, with Eastleigh conceding 11 and scoring 7. BTTS has come up in 9 of Forest Greens’ last 10, with over 2.5 landing in 7 of those. Eastleigh have seen BTTS in 3 of their last four, and haven’t kept a clean sheet at home since October. I don’t take h2h into account as much as teams chop and change every season as you know, but history backs up goals here. Both have scored in all seven ties, with BTTS & Over 2.5 landing in five. All three ties in Eastleigh have seen BTTS & Over 3.5, with scorelines of 3-2, 2-2 and 3-3.

BTTS & Over 2.5 pays 20/23 @ best with Coral, but I’m going to take my chances on the away side to score twice. Despite their futility to keep a clean sheet, they are excellent away from home and have 13 goals in their last three.

    Afternoon gents,

One game in the NLN tonight and Elvis has already mentioned it on yesterdays thread although I take a slightly different tack…

HALIFAX TOWN VS. CHORLEY (19.45 KO):

It’ll be a cold night up at The Shay in Halifax and despite their ‘favourites’ status, I’m not sure there’ll be much cheer to warm the home fans up.

Halifax got off to a bit of a flyer this campaign; they dominated September and much of October with back to back wins but sometime around mid-November the wheels came off.

In nearly two months now, they are yet to win a game – 10 games; 4 draws and 6 losses has seen them drop to shared 10th place.

23 goals conceded in that spell gives them an average of 2.3 goals per game against and with an average of 2.0 at home it isn’t much better.

So what of tonight’s visitors Chorley?

47 points and a tied second place sums up what’s been an impressive campaign to date. I’m impressed with their consistency throughout the season – they have had no car-crash results and – unlike Halifax – their form has been extremely steady with very limted points dropped and no sustained ‘sh*t spells.’

Wins against, Brackley, Harrogate, Gloucester, Nuneaton and most notably Fylde give a nod as to the quality and consistency of a side I think will be right up there come the end of the season.

Away form looks sharp as mentioned yesterday: 5 wins, 2 draws and no defeats puts an even better spin on Red Rose value in this War of the Roses.

I honestly think that at nearly 2/1, the Magpies are underpriced here to steal the points and yes, the bookies rarely get it wrong but they’re not bulletproof either!

    3 selections to consider:

    CHORLEY +1 H/CAP…4/6
    ?????

    CHORLEY OVER 1.5 TGS…5/4
    ???

    CHORLEY WIN…19/10
    ???

    ?

    ****************************

Only one game that looks worth a shout for goals in Brasil’s Youth Cup tonight:

ÃO PAULO U20 VS. CHAPECOENSE U20 (20.45 KO):

Probable winners of the tournament SP have netted 15 times in their 3 games so far.

Chapecoense haven’t a bad Youth set-up and side so certainly could chip in here.

Not a lot of value but like the look of Coral’s OVER 1.5 FHGS at 5/6
    ???

Best of luck with all bets ?

William Hill are offering 6/4 on Rooney to score tonight. Can’t imagine he’ll be in the plans for the weekend and would obviously have a much better chance of being Uniteds top scorer tonight. Unsure if there’s a max stake involved.

  23. HullShaker 7 years ago

Plenty of other games around in the lower leagues and just looking at the Yorkshire derby between Harrogate Town v Bradford PA.

    This one is usually a ripsnorter with 3-2, 3-2 and 3-1 scorelines in the 3 2016 match-ups.

Already put too many selections up (though I wouldn’t expect anyone to pick them all, just previews and pointers really) but could be a night for goals so having a kamikaze goals bet for a bit of interest at low stakes on the following games actually shouldn’t be too far out…

  24. maccathered 7 years ago

Everyone is on the man utd bandwagon tonight and that is perfectly understandable given Man utds good run of beating teams they should be beating however remember tonight is a semi final of a cup and form goes out of the window.Hull will struggle here but they are capable of scoring and have done great business in the loan signing of niasse from everton and if he starts then this bet should come in as he is a great player and a good finisher to boot although he never scored for everton as he got injured agianst liverpool some 13 months ago or so. hull to score @ 6/4 even if he doesn’t start Snodgrass is good for a goal and given that hull have scored in 14 consecutive cup games this has a chance,i’m also on hull +2.2.5 asian as hull can be stubborn and the new manager has breathed a bit of confidence in his side.2-1 home win good luck and bet wise.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Macca, I intially started off looking at Hull to score given the size of the price in what is a 2 horse race.

I think their best bet is a set piece with Snoddy as you say…having watched them on Boxing Day they were leggy as hell on the attack (particularly Snodgrass) though and they’ve played a lot of games between then and now so think they will struggle to penetrate.

      Good luck!

  25. cockerspaniel 7 years ago

Hull are a massive 66/1 to miss a penalty tonight , they are 22/1 to score one
This has got to be worth a couple of quid surely ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

As above Cocker…they won’t spend much time in the Utd box if they get there at all hence the price…like you say though it is a whopping price and far from impossible.

      Shame Fellaini isn’t starting ??

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

It only takes one moment of slackness Hull , I think if Fellaini was playing the odd`s would be a bit lower .

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Agreed on that – football can be a fickle game…look at Terry’s red card at the weekend!

    • maccathered 7 years ago

If the new guy hull have signed plays then he will give man utd hassle he has pace infact i would prefer him than lukaku.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

If he’s that good he’ll save him for Saturday.
I might be reading this wrong but league points against Bournemouth at home must be the priority over a two-legged tie with Man Utd that they have little chance of winning.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

I actually didn’t know too much about new boss Marco Silva but the guys certainly got pedigree with success at the highest level in Greece and Portugal in a short space of time.

By all accounts a bit of firebrand and left Olympiakos due to fallouts with the Board…be interesting how he gets on with the Allams!

Speaks very little English so at least that won’t hold him back in Hull ?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

He’s done well at a succession of clubs but he’s never been fighting relegation.
If he keeps Hull up he’ll have performed a miracle.
It’s been snowing in Athens so probably happier to be in hell, sorry Hull.

It’s not often you’ll get Mr F, Jordan and myself backing the same game two nights in a row but that’s the case today

    Eastleigh v Forest Green

I’m only 20 mins away from this and was going to go but it’s Baltic down here and I dont have a jacket, haha! Won’t add to much to what Jorsan has written! Eastleigh have a terrific scoring record at home and Forest green have gone goals crazy! Should see both sides contributing although I think Forest green are good value to win

Young boys v Shaffhausen KO 4pm

January is friendly time across in mainland Europe with all the main leagues in their winter break! Having been betting on these friendlies for a few years now they are often great for goals! Have picked this one out! Young boys have seen 13 of their last 15 friendlies go over 2.5 goals whilst the visitors are 13 from 16 with both sides scoring in 15 of those! It is a friendly so angthing could happen. It historically these games have goals!

  30. HullShaker 7 years ago

Not somewhere I’d usually venture to but this one caught my eye and may be worth a look for a low stake bet…

HATTA VS. AL AIN (15.30 KO):

Hatta aren’t in the best league form whereas Al Ain will leapfrog into top-spot with a win here.

Perhaps the most telling stat is that the 3 teams around Al Ain have recently inflicted wins of
    4-0, 4-1 and 6-0 upon Hatta.

If the away team are to follow form – and there seems no reason why they shouldn’t – then a similar scoreline might be anticipated.

Three selections – each from Coral:

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…31/20
    ???
    OVER 3.5 MGS…31/20
    ???
    OVER 4.5 MGS…7/2

    Afternoon lads,

A little late but just spotted a game with potential for many goals. It’s a friendly between Viktoria Plzen who are currently top of the table in Czech and Jiskra Domazlice from the 3d league in Czech. Last friendly between these sides two years back finished 8-1.
    My suggestion:
    over 4.5 match goals 5/4
over 1.5 first half goals 4/7

Its for lower league teams so they get a chance to play at Wembley.
But the fa decided to let prem teams under 23 players who are too shit to play in their 1st teams in, so you might get Swansea under 23 v Leicester under 23 at Wembley in front of a few 100 diehards and probably a few of those sad people who go to about 15 games a week with their satchells with their log books inside detailing their sad lives, ground hoppers I believe is their title.
      Footballing trainspotters if you like.
Hope this clears things up Jordan……

  47. bixieupnorth 7 years ago

right then, full of snot but been poring over the various fixtures and hoepfully i’ve picked out a few gems, but on a cold cold night who knows what will happen

    over 2.5 match goals
man u v hull 1/2 just cos everyone has flagged it up and it does look bloody likely!!, normally hate cup games, but think jose will be keen to win something and hull will be glad to be out to concentrate on survival!
eastleigh v forest green 8/13 all stats point towards it
halifax v chorley 4/6 again goals look very likely here
worthing v canvey island 2/5 worthing bang in form and canvey not shy of scoring themselves
cinderford v slough 2/5 slough should win this easily

five fold pays around 11.5/1 skybet
    and adding
    napoli
    sochaux
    barrow to make
    51/1

    win/over 2.5
    man u
    worthing
    slough
    barrow
    napoli
    19/1 w hill

    aways
    forest green
    dover
    chorley
    slough
    weymouth
    78/1 skybet
chorley least confident pick to doing the four fold too

  48. GregBrowning 7 years ago

ColinK, I’m glad your picking of teams is better than your getting the name Of the cup competition correct, haha!

Bet lost. The stats were their for btts. Not tonight though. Onwards ?

  53. warktheline 7 years ago

    MACCLESFIELD v DOVER over 2.5 mgs 8/11.
MACCLESFIELD goal before 47 mins 5/6.
DOVER goal before 53 mins 5/6.

    Quick summary:
MACCLESFIELD appear to have come through their poor run of form, hitting 4 at home against Tranmere! Prior to dip in form the Silkmen had been good for a goal or two and scoring first half goals had been a trend! DOVER can be unpredictable in terms of WDL , but goals are usually a common trait! Both teams will hopefully look at winning the game to enhance push for playoff positions!

Good luck all with bets this evening ?.

Evening guys, I already posted the Ajax bet last week, the price has gone to 1.69 now. Another bet I like is on Saturday night.

    Dutch Eredivisie:

    PEC Zwolle v Ajax

Poor Zwolle are in a relegation battle from the start of the season and have the worst defence in the league, conceding 34 goals in 17 games. I don’t think Zwolle fans are looking forward to this game when they see the line-up. Defenders Schenkeveld and Van Polen (captain) are suspended. Midfielder Holla is also suspended and one of their most experienced players Wout Brama has gone to Utrecht during the winter break. Ajax have the best shot stats in the league (home and away) and their best midfielder Ziyech was not selected (!) for Morocco in the Africa Cup squad. Ajax won the reverse fixture 5-1. I am quite sure Ajax are going to win this game. There is no value in the straight win or team goal markets, so I am backing them -1 on the asian handicap with the chance of a refund if they win by 1.

    Ajax -1 asian handicap @ 1.82 with Unibet / 888 (best available now @ 1.77 with BV)

    Heracles v Groningen

Big price for goals in this mid table clash in Almelo on Saturday night. I don’t why odds are so big, the only thing I can think of is because the reverse fixture was a 0-0 draw. Both teams averaging more than 2.5 goals a game. Besides the reverse fixture Heracles only failed to score against Ajax , Feyenoord and Utrecht. Groningen failed to score against Ajax, Heerenveen, PSV and Feyenoord, all quality sides. One interesting stat is that Heracles and Groningen are number 1 and 2 on the list of most shots conceded per game. I think both will score on Saturday which should lead to some goals. The 0-0 in September was a rare result in the list of H2H’s between these two, with 12 of the last 15 going over 2.5

    Over 2.5 match goals @ 1.87 with Unibet / 888

That team Sc.u.n.thorpe… grrr that must be why my post at 7pm got blocked! Nightmare.

    Anyway it’s frustrating as the goal accas I tipped made a decent profit in the end;

    Goals acca 1

    Cheltenham v Leicester U23 – Goal Line Over 2
Man United v Hull – Goal Line Over 2 *void*
Eastleigh v Forest Green – Goal Line Over 2 *void*
Halifax v Chorley – Goal Line Over 2
Atletico Madrid v Las Palmas – Goal Line Over 2
Macclesfield v Dover – Goal Line Over 2
Sochaux v Monaco – Goal Line Over 2
    Coventry v Brighton U23 – Goal Line Over 2, 2.5
    Oxford United v Scu.nthorpe – Goal Line Over 2

Was £10 to return £175 but the voids made it £76 return.

    Goals acca 2

Man United v Hull – Goal Line Over 2 *void*
    Swansea U23 v Wolves U23 – Goal Line Over 1.5, 2
    Yeovil v Reading U23 – Goal Line Over 2
Coventry v Brighton – Goal Line Over 1.5
    Oxford United v Scu.nthorpe – Goal Line Over 2
Eastleigh v Forest Green – Goal Line Over 2 *void*
Halifax v Chorley – Goal Line Over 2
Atletico Madrid v Las Palmas – Goal Line Over 2
Napoli v Spezia – Goal Line Over 2
Macclesfield v Dover – Goal Line Over 2
Sochaux v Monaco – Goal Line Over 2
    Cheltenham v Leicester U23 – Goal Line Over 2

Was £10 to return £255 but voids made it £122 return.
Also did same bet for £5 stake which returned £60.

Had a few other smaller goal bets the won, all in all returned £270 – made £230 profit so can’t complain.

Also thanks for the BTTS double yesterday Mr F I backed it.

Hope there were many other winners on the forum tonight.

Yeah sorry – I said before might have to space out Scunthorpe.

    • alex_mufc83 7 years ago

Yeah you did – my mistake I posted in a rush and totally forgot about the spacing then realised too late.

unlucky doublechance with 2 results bringing your 4 fold down tonite…………… for me still saying far, far too many permutations to be lumping £100 on a 9/10 shot GL to you and those following though sir…………

Cheers lads – Sando just score so there’s the BTTS part in and a 3rd goal to boot!

Hi gents. Called the game relatively right in Eastleigh. Forest Green scored early which could have been covered but I let it run myself. Both scored in the first half but unfortunately that’s where the goals dried up. Haven’t looked at tomorrow’s card but can’t imagine its any better than today’s, so might not have anything. Well done to any winners tonight.

    Full House ?

    CLUB SANDO VS. W CONNECTION:

Two most recent H2Hs finished 2-1 and 5-2 to Connection and both teams games in general feature goals-a-plenty.

Western Connection are the better of the 2 sides but Sando are good for a goal!

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…11/10
    ??

    ***WON***

    OVER 3.5 MGS…4/5
    ???

    ***WON***

    BTTS & CONNECTION WIN…11/8
    ??

    ***WON***

I’ll be glad when I’ve had enough of this…

    DEFENCE FORCE VS. CENTRAL :

Just coming into play now and 4th takes on 1st.

In short, two teams who can score goals with Central being the classier (and tighter) side.

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…11/10

    OVER 3.5 MGS…6/5

    Good luck ?
