FIRSTLY on behalf of everyone involved with the site I'd like to wish you a happy and prosperous New Year.

Prosperous means beating the bookies but we'd all rather be happy. Actually both would be nice.

Myself and Greg ended the year on a losing note with tips on the Villarreal v Valencia game with 1-0 going against stats but maybe we shoul have paid more attention to the Gary Neville factor as his side were poor.

This post was of course written earlier as Hogmanay in Scotland translates as one big party. Someone's plied me with Desperado so my chances of surfacing early as pretty much nil.

And although there are some games to look I'd already decided to make it a no bet and concentrate on the weekend. All my Saturday selections are picked out and as it's a Friday I'll need to hit the office at some point and put my pages together.

For those who are having a bet the games to look at include Brighton v Wolves and QPR v Hull in the Championship and Forest Green v Torquay in the National League.

Brighton have suffered back-to-back defeats, haven't scored in three and are without a win in five while Wolves are going for three victories in a row. Unders could be a shout as well as Wolves draw no bet.

QPR haven't got going under new boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and unders could again be a shout.

Forest are no bigger than 4-9 to beat Torquay and with home advantage should do so. But remember Torquay recently stunned them 4-1 at Plainmoor and that's a concern.

All the Northern Irish players will have been tucked into bed nice and early ahead of their league matches and I'm sure we'll see some good tips from some of the regulars.

Thanks again for everyone's continued support and contributions and let's hope 2016 is a good one. There will be more focus on the forum we added in November – it's there so we want people to use it.

From this month there will be more exclusive tips and contests on the forum but the main focus for daily tips should remain on the site.

Don't forget to check out our friends at We Love Betting for their latest tips and video chat.

Happy new year to everyone! Small card today which is probably a good thing with all the hangovers there will be!

I’m going to go for a draw between QPR v Hull at 9/4
Hull have really struggled away from home of late with no wins in 5 and loosing 4 on the trot!
QPR have also struggled but have found ways not to loose especially at home where although they have only won 4 games from 12 they have only lost once! that leaves a massive 7 that are draws.

Good luck to everybody and lets hope we start the new year in a winning way.

    8.40 WSW Vs Adelaide

    Over 2.5 goals 4/5 Skybet

Two teams in good form. WSW have scored two in each of their last 5 home games and with the form of Adelaide I expect them to net also.

    Cliftonville V Warrenpoint
BTTS is the bet for me today @ 6/5.
Warrenpoint have scored in 4/5 last meetings at Solitude and are somewhat a bogy/tricky team for the reds.
I’ve also witnessed my fare share of shakey defending from reds this season and I see no reason why they can’t nick a goal.
    GL and happy New Year

Yeah that’s a good bet,I’m confident reds could put 3 or 4 in today.they played brilliant on Sat away to crusaders getting two against best defence in country.

    Iran – Pro League
Malavan v Esteghlal TEH KO 11am

Let’s start this year off as we mean to go on, with, hopefully, a nice win early on! And I think the instructive test here is to compare these teams’ form so far this season with last season.

    Last season: Malavan Home P15 W4 D9 L2 F15 A13
    This season: Malavan Home P8 W3 D3 L2 F4 A2
Note the difference in goals scored and conceded in approximately half the number of games so far this season. Dire. Basically, season ticket holders at the Takhti Stadium* have seen 6 goals in 8 games.
(*I have no idea why I needed to check the Malavan home ground, but I thought the gambling gods might be kinder if I researched it properly, rather than just leaving “Malavan Park”.)
Also worth noting is Malavan’s form has got worse recently.
The lads who go home and away with the White Swans have seen them score only once at home, and once away in the last 10 games, losing 5, drawing 4 and winning only 1. In their last 5 home games, Malavan have had three 0-0 draws, one 1-0 win and one 1-0 defeat.

    Last season: Esteghlal TEH Away P15 W5 D5 L5 F21 A20
    This season: Esteghlal TEH Away P7 W5 D2 L0 F12 A3
Esteghlal are flying. Not only are they obviously knocking them in at an even higher rate than last season, but now they aren’t conceding. They are in very good form.
In their last five aways, they’ve won 4, scoring 8 and conceding only 1. They’re the second best away side in the league, but that’s deceptive, because they’ve played a game fewer than the team above them.
More significantly, Esteghlal are also top of the league overall. This is a vast improvement on last season when they finished 6th. One more win, and they’ll have scooped the same number of points away as last season in half the number of games.

There would’ve been a good argument for a bet on Esteghlal to win to nil, based on their ability to score and defend, and Malavan’s inability to score, and definitely a good bet would have been BTTS – NO. But neither of those bets is available – at least with Bet365.

It definitely looks like Under 2.5 goals, which is 2/5, and should come in, especially in a league where that Unders bet hits 70% of the time, but the win for Esteghlal pays at Evens, and that looks the call. There’s no option of Esteghlal Win + Under 2.5, and while you might look at taking two or three correct scores, that gets a bit fussy, and, anyway, we’re all a bit hung over to be starting thinking about that…

Keep it simple. It has to be Esteghlal at Evens!

(Well – when I started writing this at 10am it was Evens. I see it’s now 8/11,,,!)

    . . .

Happy New Year to all! Good luck today and throughout 2016!

    • theuht 8 years ago

Cheers, Mr F – and a happy new year to you and yours, too!

This one looked good on paper, and was going fine till 77 mins – Esteghlal ahead twice. But goal-shy Malavan hit two here and got a 2-2 draw!

That’s football betting – it doesn’t always go to plan. ;-)

Totally agree with joe with what he said about BTTS in the Cliftonville v Warrenpoint game,i remember writing up in here about how the point manager previously stating how his players always enjoy meeting Cliftonville as they do get plenty of chances given the end to end nature of the games, take away last meeting in the cup which ended 1-0 to Cliftonville and you have last 5 LG meetings showing Btts and 7/8 meetings also and as Joe has pointed out Warrenpoint who have been in awful form all season have recently woke up to the fact they need to fight for survival and have seen Btts in past 5 lg games which included champions elect Crusaders and last 4 aways in the lg which included away to todays rival Cliftonville back in November who have also seen Btts in 4/5 lg homes…..6/5 with skybet for Btts looks very appealing. Good Luck.

Portadown v Ballymena BTTS @ 1/2..Come in last 6 meetings 4 of which in 2015 and in Ballymenas last 7 games {6 lg} and 8/10 portadown lg homes.

Linfield v Crusaders BTTS @ 4/9..Come in 6/8 lg meetings although Crusaders won to Nil last 2 meetings they have seen btts in their last 5 lg games and 7/8 lg aways. The blues form has improved lately after going 4 defeats following a change of management and have won 3/4 losing none with btts coming in last 3.

DOUBLE PAYS 7/6 Skybet {may get better elsewhere} GOOD LUCK.

    • niwintz 8 years ago

I was at the Linfield v glentoran game on Boxing Day and Linfield played with a long of pace but most importantly – PASSION. Healy seems to be now getting the best from his squad.

Can definately see btts in this match but feel a win for either team is too tight to call, Linfield to win and btts at 18/5 with WillHill is tempting for small stakes as Blues desperate to beat Crusaders

  14. richb20806 8 years ago

Today I’m looking at what I see as hopefully a nice one to start the year well.

Wolves to score at least a goal.
QPR to score at least a goal.

    Just over evens.

Wolves are in arguably the better form in comparison to Brighton. I don’t fancy backing them to win but do feel that they can grab a goal.

In the other game Hull haven’t travelled well and face QPR who despite being in pretty indifferent form themselves they do score goals and whilst I wouldn’t back them to win. I do think they should grab a goal.

  15. kelly.d 8 years ago

hi and happy new year to everyone.
when i started posting i had a little plan i wanted to do which was 3 banks 1. my own top tips 2. mrfixits tips
    3. gregs tips. i waited till to day to start it off on the new year. basically i will do all 3 tips but in separate banks. over the last 2 weeks i managed to get up a nice bank (mostly down to the indoors this week) i will also do my own in plays but wont be part of the bank, the bank i have will only be touched for the 3 separate banks above i honestly think there is money to be made using my own and mr fixits and gregs tips and record of all bets at end of day. and the naps go on a roll frequently so will do a roll over of top tips for few days and see where that takes me.
so good luck to everyone and lets hope its a profitable new year.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

kelly.d, I think I’m back on terra firma. That’s an interesting one but not easy to have 3 banks on the go at once.

    • kelly.d 8 years ago

its an experiment i wanted to try since the summer, and thought with the winnings over the last 2 weeks now is the time to try it rather than having to deposit my own money and try it at least this way its the bookies money im using either way win or lose i withdrew money from winnings so im in profit already. and if you and greg or myself go on a disastrous run i wont be blaming anyone its 100% my choice to follow your picks and advise anyone else if they decide to follow just remember you are following at your own risk as 3 banks will be hard to go at. but as i said its an experiment i wanted to try and im going with it. i have 400 each bank which is 1200 i lodged 100 2 weeks ago and got to 1450 withdrew 250 which was my 100 plus 150 profit. personnaly i think its better to try it than to wonder what if. if i win 200 in a month or 6 months wont matter to me as its profit and a bit of craic for few months.

    Afternoon gents

I hope everyone had a fantastic Xmas and new year – I’m as fresh as a dasiy today ( bed at 11.30 last night) changed days

    QPR v Hull 5.15pm

Most of you will be aware of my love for a late goal in a Newcastle home match – it’s probably been my most successful trend bet in that I reckon I’ve backed it 15 or so times now and it’s only failed on 3 occasions! Always looking to see what other trends are out there and one thing from watching Gilette soccer Saturday, there always seems to be a late goal at Loftus Road! Looked into it and that’s certainly the case! 23 of their last 27 competitive home matches in all conpetafion have seen a goal scored after 68 mins ( 17 of those in te last 10 minutes of matches) – This is likely to be a low scoring affair but Bet365 are being extreamly generous with their late goal time! Usually you’d expect to see 72 or 73 mins +, today however we are getting a gol after 67:59 minutes – if you include injury time that’s at least 25 mins for a goal to be scored! Making this my best bet of 2016 so far, haha!

    Back a goal after 67:59 minutes 5/6 (Bet365) (NAP)

    walsall
    burton
    northampton
    wycombe
    pays 67/1

will have a few goal bets up in morning. Stokes odds really surprise me

    • luke 8 years ago

Stoke on blinding run. But West brom r no mugs at home. Would expect stoke odds bit lower mabe. But can c why they can’t decide. No man u in your selection? Should be easy is win at home to a sorry swansea

    • hampy 8 years ago

yes stokes price hefty and worth a shot but no guarantee. maybe worth a double chance with something else.
Not touching man u pal. its hard enough just to watch us at the moment. Though did look a little better against chelsea. But yet again lack of goals a big problem

    • luke 8 years ago

Lol….Yeh don’t blame but should win allday tomorrow. Not so sure bout stoke. They r the team no one wants to face rite now. But that’s sort game they could lose. Tite one that. Mind u they’ll prob go smash West brom now to shut me up

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

luke, Stoke are no banker which is why they are nearly 2-1.
Not sure why you’re so confident in Man Utd in the form they’re in and up against their bogey team who have been solid under Alan Curtis.

  86. luke 8 years ago

Cmon FUS stop fussing about and bag us couple of goals

  87. boomshackle 8 years ago

Hi guys update on my Trixie. .
    2 win evens & 7/4
    1 lost @ 4/7
Luckily for me I cashed out wen rabbit were in front late on for a 90% payout ?
(Hopefully some1 got on the 2 winners?)

  92. barman 8 years ago

I do not understand why van gaal dont use depay and martial on top together. For which reason you bought the top scorer of psv and holland league and you use him as winger. Or why you gave di maria and januzaj the same time away.
Mr f, sorry that i post a comment that maybe will do up-down the discussions here, but can someone explain to me why utd still can not find the place on top 3? Not only to find that place, but deserve it.
    Thanks

    • kelly.d 8 years ago

have to be honest your mad if not blind if you think utd deserve to be in the top 3, as it stands the deserved top 4 is

      Leicester arsenal spurs and city

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

kelly.d, every team are where they deserve to be – league tables don’t lie.

    • luke 8 years ago

      Long way to go yet!!

    • luke 8 years ago

      I hope spurs finish top 4 ☝?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

barman, it’s down to the manager and I can’t see him being there much longer.
