THE Diamond CC near Vienna hosts this week’s Lyoness Open where there’s a good turnout.

With average width fairways and small greens accuracy could play a big part and Maximilian Kieffer could be the one to land the prize.

The 25-year-old German has three top-10 finishes in six outings this season and with driving accuracy of 64% and GIR of over 71%, which helped him to a T3 at the Nordea Masters last week, could be one to follow this season.

With a T13 and a T4 in his last two tourneys Rafa Cabrera-Bello is well in contention this week. It’s hard to believe the Spaniard hasn’t won since 2012 but that could be about to change.

He has a GIR stat of 72.8% and driving accuracy of over 61%. His putting has never been a strong point for him but with the small greens here it might not cause him too much problem.

Richie Ramsay is having a good season and could add to his win in the Trophee Hassan II earlier in the year. He missed the cut in the BMW PGA Championship but apart from that he’s not been out the top 15. Good stats with 68% in GIR and 61% in driving accuracy and a steady player.

This week we’re Walking in Memphis at the Fed-Ex St Jude Classic with not a great field which is no surprise with the US Open just a week away.

Dustin Johnson continued hitting eagles and birdies galore in the Memorial at the weekend but still throws in the occasional double bogey. I think he’s going to blow away the rest of the field soon – whether it’s this week or next I don’t know.

After picking him last week and thinking of taking him for the US Open I’m not sure whether I’m willing to go for him again in Memphis. Okay, I can’t help myself.

Billy Horschell hasn’t had a top-five finish since his third at the Valero Texas Open but has progressed steadily since the Zurich Classic. His stats for driving went off the boil a bit earlier in the season but in his last two outings he’s hit 76 and 73% and his GIR is 69.3% for the season, ranked 15 on tour. Looks a good bet.

Ryan Palmer and Webb Simpson for me this week.Finding DJ very frustrating lately but like you I think its only a matter of time before he comes good.Take the 20/1 for the US open.

Wax Already done it. Took him before the Memorial. If he can stop all the double bogeys he’s done recently he’ll come up trumps.

week before the us open its time to tune up ready for next week and first up for me

Phil Mickelson -18/1 at coral- finished 11th here last year and 2nd in 2013 so hopefully lefty can get it right again ahead of next week

Ryan Palmer -18/1 at Bet Fred been in good form this year and has been in the top 5 here twice in last 3 years

Harris English -22/1 at bet fred– no form to speak of this year but he did win this event in 2013 and he has the motivation that a good showing here will qualify him for the open next week as he sits outside qualification

lee, had a glance at Racing Post when I was out. Their headline tip is same as Ace’s – Billy Horschell. That’s good enough for me so each-way it is.

Dustin Johnson withdraws due to illness. He was +3 after 9.

As I said earlier,I’m finding DJ very frustrating. He has the talent but something just doesn’t seem right since he came back this year.Surely if he was ill he should have withdrawn before the start.
