I thought of taking the pairing of Patrick Reed and Rory McIroy as my two ball today but I just can’t call it. If Reed plays the par 5s the way has over the first three rounds (1 par, two eagles and NINE birdies) he will hold off any challenge Rory throw at him. But it is Rory we’re talking about here and if he gets going early this will be a great fight to the end.

Anyway I decided on Justin Rose v Louis Oosthuizen as my two ball today. Oostuizen has played steady golf (three 71s) although he tore up the back nine in the first round with five birdies he still only managed one under. Rose hasn’t been spectacular but yesterday he just couldn’t buy a putt. Both very steady golfers and not much between then but I fancy Rose to finish with a flourish and beat the South African.

Rose to beat Oostuizen (Coral 4-5)
