It’s a battle of the bay as the Athletics play against the Giants in Oakland.

The storyline in this game is Sonny Gray pitching for the Athletics.

He’s been in trade rumours for a while and he’ll be keen for a quality start.

He has an excellent home record this year at 5-2 and he holds a 3.08 ERA.

The Athletics are 3-0 in his last three home starts and he’s earned the win in each game.

Oakland are coming off an extra innings win against the Twins and they went 3-1 against the Giants last season.

For the Giants, they’re coming off a challenging series against the Dodgers and they blew two saves on Monday (ending the Wolf’s multi for the day).

Matt Cain makes the start and he has a 2-1 career record against the Athletics.

His last start against them was back in 2014 and he holds a 1.29 career ERA.

Currently, he has a 0-4 record in his last seven starts and a 6.56 ERA.

But the best reason for backing the Athletics is Cain has a 8.14 ERA on the road and hasn’t won a decision in 9 starts.

The Wolf is backing the Athletics by a few runs and says to take the -1.5 in the handicap market
