The ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth returns to Lake Karrinyup Country Club for it’s second year after home boy Brett Rumford won the inaugural event last year.
The first three days are normal strokeplay golf, then the field is cut to 24 who will take part in a matchplay contest over six holes. If there are any ties resulting in a stalemate they will take part in a sudden death play-off over a specially built hole of around 100 yards, using the 18th green.
The Lake Karrinyup lay out is over 90 years old and is parkland with undulating fairways which are tree lined. The course has hosted four Australian Opens and was re-designed in 2007 by Geoff Ogilvy and Mike Clayton.

Course: Lake Karrinyup Country Club, Perth, Western Australia
    7143 yards: Par 72

While the concept is probably great for TV and those at the tournament, to pick a winner is a nightmare. A good stroke play and match play golfer is what you would want here and the man who stands out for me is Thai Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
Although he hasn’t won on the European Tour since 2015 at the end of last year he was beginning to show his old form, with two seconds and a sixth place in the last five tournaments. He also is a good match play player, as he showed when he won the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Matchplay in 2015.

1.50 ew Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Coral 25-1)
