I ASKED punters to vote for this week’s five to follow market – and 13 different suggestions were put up.

Interestingly, some of you voted for doubles, trebles and fourfolds – even though it’s a five to follow.

Anyway if one of those had been the vote winner I’d have gone for it. But the market that pulled in most votes was teams to score two or more goals which was featured by guest blogger selectabet on Tuesday night. I might put up a trixie and offer doubles and singles on two to score three or more.

Second in the voting was over 2.5 goals with a both teams to score treble third – but remember I’ll have weekend btts lines for England, Scotland and Europe so you can pick out any three you want for a treble.

Other markets mentioned included teams to score in both halves, Asian handicap, over 1.5 goals in a game, time of first goal and the old favourite anytime scorers. I might include anytime scorers in the top tips this weekend because I know it’s popular.

You can vote for next week’s five to follow market with a comment at the end of the teams to score two plus goals when it’s posted.

Teams 2 Score In Both Halves seems a good call its a market I enjoy very much so

  2. Max 5 years ago

I’d like to see corners, preferably over 12. Personal favourite of mine, and usually comes with a good price…

Max, I’d need to digout some stat for that one. It doesn’t get my vote but it might get the punters’.

  3. Smiler arbroath 5 years ago

Over 2.5 goals for me Cheers

  4. Dave 5 years ago

i would go for a btts but only pick 3 games and try to get the best return on that, mind ive no idea how anything other than the doubles work when it comes to mixing n matching bets……..doh

  5. kala6li 5 years ago

    over goals

4 teams BTTS always returns a steady profit.

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Lamby, I won’t do four btts on the five to follow because I already stick up two lines of five at the weekend and a btts fourfold from the Daily Record. Anyway it’s called five to follow not four to follow or three for the guy who asked for trebles.

  7. gary f 5 years ago

Would like to see double chance on five to follow odds aren’t great but its market I like best

  8. 1plus2 5 years ago

Does anyone ever bet on the time of a team to score sometimes that can be a good bet if you manage to pick the before or after a certain time.

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

1plus2, I do but not often. Chris Guy tips them a lot and they are quite good bets on teams like Barcelona and Bayern Munich in league games when they are very short.

Conor, and the double I posted as a comment tonight – Yeovil and Bournemouth!

  11. Sean Ireland 5 years ago

Id go with the Asian handicap market, plus or minus whatever, can give a great return on your stake.Could prove useful with some F.A cup games this weekend.

  12. Madi 5 years ago

Was thinking over 2.5 but over 1.5 goals be good. Very good chance of it coming in. Whatever gets picked il back it

  13. kissinger 5 years ago

I’m with Conor – team to score +2 goals.

  14. Striker 5 years ago

    2+ team goals

Still cant see by Betfred‘s Goals Galore Bonus Section. Still pays the best odd’s and is a popular and great market.

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Stevie H, only problem I have with the Betfred market is that it limits your choice if you want the better prices.

  18. Lord Clegg 5 years ago

Is 2+ and over 2.5 not the same thing?

    • Striker 5 years ago

2+ team goals means one team has to score 1.5 goals or more, whereas over 2.5 goals means there has to be 3 goals in the match for bet to win.

  19. Badham 5 years ago

Btts treble. Bigger chance of coming in every week!

  20. Karl shaw 5 years ago

What about goal handicaps always a good one

  23. Jimmy Mac 5 years ago

how about a good double, and do 50 on it.about 2.5 to 1

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Jimmy, again people are missing the point. Five to follow is five selections – but I’ve started a new vote to change it to two or three to follow.

  24. Chris Guy 5 years ago

I quite like btts but I think I’d rather do larger stakes on less selections. Instead of £50 on a 5 game acc put £100 on a treble

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Chris, firstly it’s been establised by admin that you didn’t post that comment Milesey was upset by yesterday. Admin have traced it and it came from another regular on the site posing as someone else. Secondly, re the btts treble I’ve said before you can take three of my strongest picks from five. Five to follow can’t be a treble unless I change the name to three to follow. In fact let’s have another vote – 3 or 5 selections on any market?

      • 1plus2 5 years ago

For the record i would like to say that whatever comment that was, i was in no way involved in it either, just in case anyone thinks it was me after a few of the comments yesterday.

        • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
          Mr Fixit 5 years ago

1plus2, for the record the comment didn’t come from you. And as I said yesterday I didn’t see anything wrong with you asking Milesey a question.

          • 1plus2 5 years ago

Thx for verifying that just in case as i said folk think i was involved.

Maybe if some of the people that commented yesterday read your comment they might think again about calling people petty names since there was no malice intended after Milesey explained his position.

      • Danny 5 years ago

thats crazy Paul a site regular doing that to Milesey he must have been aware that Admin can trace who it is

        • 1plus2 5 years ago

Maybe a name and shame would be the proper thing to do so everyone can see who are the proper wind up merchants, different having a bit craic with someone using your own moniker but to change it to noise someone up is a bit off.

I seen something earlier that mite have had a bearing on who it was but i will keep that to myself as i dont want to upset anyone else.

    Thanks Admin.

  27. Lamby 5 years ago

Maybe 3 to follow as you suggest. Surely more chance of a return? Fewer selections but higher stakes.

  28. AC 5 years ago

I quite liked the +2 goals Mr F …. Not sure on how much profit can be made off of it though … Leeds let me down last night … hahaha bloody hell Admin … was that one person in all those online disguises?

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

AC, the line I like is when you take a team to score 2 or 3 plus and perm them so if you land three 3s you could be looking at a payout of around 200-1 depending on the odds. The difference between 2 and 3 is huge.

      • AC 5 years ago

Well those odds sound pretty tasty

      • 1plus2 5 years ago

That certainly would appeal to the lower stakes gamblers out there where there is a decent return for smaller stakes possibly ?

  29. john 5 years ago

Do you mean pick 3 selections in 3 different markets in the one section? I’ve tried that myself a few times and it’s not a bad idea

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

John, could do that although one market is probably simpler. What I really mean is if people would prefer a treble to a fivefold.

    • AC 5 years ago

Yeah that could be a good idea John,

      1 game BTTS
      1 game over 2.5 goals
      1 winner
1 team to score 2+ goals
      1 anytime goalscorer

      • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
        Mr Fixit 5 years ago

AC, interesting but doesn’t make it easier to find a winner and they’ll need to feature five different games as the bets are related.

        • AC 5 years ago

It you look at it from the angle of when picking a fourfold or a fivefold of say 5 teams to both score .. usually one or two let you down … so picking one or two and combining it with one or two from another style of bet could be an advantage … although it could go terrible wrong … I will give it a test run for a couple of weeks and post my bets … see how it fairs

  30. john 5 years ago

I think people generally prefer 3 as obviously 5 has a greater chance of letting us down…we’re seeing a lot of favorites falling at the moment

    • AC 5 years ago

True … out of those 5 i stated earlier the 3 i would opt for would be BTTS, over 2.5 goals and a straight winner … May do it tonight … Real Madrid win, Shakter/Dort both to score and Iviness/killy over 2.5

  31. Carlos 5 years ago

Lay Half Time or Half Time winner, would be great.

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Carlos, are you talking about a lay at half-time, that is inrunning, or a lay on the half-time winner.

  32. 1plus2 5 years ago

Not everyone can bet with massive stakes that some have mentioned by reducing the 5 to follow to say 2 or 3 where in theory that makes sense as you only have 2 or 3 bets so stands to reason it should be more fruitful (not always the case as 1 always lets u down or so it seems no matter how many u pick lol)

Trying to find a market where there is value based on 5 picks of a certain ilk where for relative small stakes you can hit a decent return is for me enjoyable,it’s just trying to find the damn value and hit it that particular week thats the problem :-(

  33. mark talbot 5 years ago

over 2.5 for me. Better odds also if a man gets. Sent off its not that disastrous. As with both to score.

  34. Tony 5 years ago

Over 2.5 is a cracking bet Paul.

  35. John Connor 5 years ago

Every game looks different when you look at the form. I would rather leave it to mr F’s discretion, and do a mixture of them all.

We could call it the fixit 5 :)

  36. Ryan 5 years ago

    BTTS trixie in my opinion.

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Ryan, problem with a btts trixie is that one double won’t cover your stakes. Right, it’s snowing heavy here and off to the pictures to see Wreck it Ralph. Wish me luck.

  37. Carlos 5 years ago

Hi, in this case lay on the half-time winner.

  38. Stevie H 5 years ago

I know what you mean about Betfreds limited picks on the bonus section for example. Peterborough are 1 of the strongest in this market but its very rare to see them in that section, having said that theres still plenty to choose from and we all know its a market that dosent require any thought as any team can score a goal.

I checked my last 10 lines and 7 of them 1 let me down, makes me sick reading that lol.

  39. John 5 years ago

My vote is for a team to score in both halves…you mentioned teams to score 2 or 3 which would get my vote also as it still looks like my 1st choice is going to get shot down :-)

  40. Crowman 5 years ago

    Two bets I like are;

    For expected goal fests…

both to score in first half Trixie (usually 5/2 to 11/4 each)

for tight affairs with fav to nick it by 1…..

-1 HCap Tie Trixie (usually 9/4 to 3/1)

Nice odds for small stakes (4 x £5)

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Crowman, they’re decent bets, it’s amazing actually when you look at all the markets there are.

  41. Jack Twyman 5 years ago

Id like to see over 2.5 goals

  42. john g 5 years ago

Id like to vote for anytime scorers Mr fixit. The only thing is the prices aren’t great wi the likes of messi or ronaldo but with players like benteke and bale the prices tend to be no bad.

  43. Ross 5 years ago

    Hi Paul,

there is a tipster guy on facebook doing very well at the moment.

9 bets 8 winners, but he never bets on more than 2 games.

So its either singles or doubles max!!

He says that is the only way to make a long term profit from betting. What you think?

And yes the odds are skinny, about the even money mark.

but to be honest I would be happy with winning small amounts regularly than going a whole week of 2 without anything. (not directed at you btw)

So far he is betting on things like a BTTS game doubled over 1.5 goals in another game.

The big winners a nice but hard to find.

    good luck

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Ross, I’ve said it before if you are thinking long-term then singles an maybe doubles are the way to go. However, he’s catering for a specific market while this site – and the Daily Record columns – are aimed at a wider audience which is why we do singles every day as well as other bets. It’s not that difficult to pick 8 out of 9 winners at short prices to be honest. But to back these and make decent money you need to be risking big stakes and that’s not for everyone.

  44. Danny 5 years ago

do you not think its a bit boring Ross its not got the same style as this site allsorts of different people and betting styles tips coming from here there and everywere and the banter (hopefully in good fun from now on)

It doesnt take a master mind to come up with a single or a double a dont come on the site for tips I already know who my teams are just like to see what other folk are doing and saying probably speaking for everyone on the site in saying they are all perfectly capable of coming up with there own singles and doubles without going onto facebook fair play to the lad puttin time and effort into helping people that need it to beat the bookies wouldnt decry anyone for that

  45. robbie 5 years ago

    over 1.5

  46. Ross 5 years ago

I agree with most of those points Paul and Danny,, its not for everyone and yes everyone loves getting a big winner.

But I defiantly don’t find doubling my money each time boring, but then I’m not betting £10 or £20.

Would be delighted to win £100 or £200 everyday (not gonna happen 100%) but say you hit it 5 out of 7 everyweek? Pretty good return each week.

Love the site, will still cherry pick some selections from you, just thought I would point some folk there if they were interested.

    good luck

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Ross, I don’t agree with Danny that it’s boring but if you can put £100 on an evens shot every day and win 5 out of 7 that’s £500 tax-free earnings a week. But what you’re saying isn’t new to people on this site, I always bang on to take as few selections as possible and of course put up the Super Singles.

  47. Ross 5 years ago

    £300 tax free profit ?
