FOR the third week in a row the vote is for me to do an anytime scorers fivefold.

In week one I picked two correct and last weekend it was even better with three out of five thanks to Jordan Rhodes, Matej Vydra and Rickie Lambert.

I’m standing by Rhodes who has scored in every game for Blackburn since Michael Appleton took charge. Rhodes played the second half of Scotland’s friendly win against Estonia and although he didn’t score he was impressive – sometimes making runs so good and so well timed that his teama-mates either didn’t respond quick enough or he was wrongly called offside.

The boy’s a natural finisher and has every chance of adding to his 18-goal tally at home to Ipswich. He is 10-11 at bet365.

I was tempted to add Gareth Bale but surely he can’t keep his great run after three goals in three games when he isn’t an out-and-out striker. So instead I’m going with Southampton striker Rickie Lambert.

Saints face a tough task against champions Man City in the tea-time game and I reckon they’ll give them a test.

The south-coast side have netted in eight of the nine matches they’ve played against top-six sides – including two at the Etihad – and Lambert can do some damage here at 11-4 with Coral and 888sport.

Now go up north for two new boys who have taken the Scottish game by storm – Jose Goncalves and Michael Ngoo.

Goncalves, signed on loan from Portuguese side Rio Ave, has been an instant hit in Paisley with four goals in three games, including a debut strike against Celtic in the League Cup semi-final win.

The big man has really looked the part and should get a few chances against an out-of sorts Aberdeen side. My one concern is the state of the pitch as it cut up badly during the Scotland game on Wednesday but hopefully it’s been nicely rolled and ready for the dead-eyed Buddie. You can have 7-2 with bet365 on the wideman.

Ngoo’s impact has been just as good with two goals in two games after signing on loan from Liverpool. The kid looks a prospect and with young hitman Callum Patterson out for the season even more responsibility will fall on the loanee’s shoulders.

He takes his talents to a Dundee United side who have been leaking goals at home in the SPL although they kept a clean sheet against Rangers in the Scottish Cup last week. I reckon young Mr Ngoo will fancy his chances of netting here and is 9-4 at bet365.

I don’t really like doing this but I’m putting up a Sunday selection in Wayne Rooney. There is method in my madness with Rooney having netted four in three for the Reds and England’s opener against Brazil on Wednesday.

So he’s in cracking form just in time for the visit of his old side Everton who he always loves to play against – and score against. Rooney has done the impossible – recently he has overshadowed Robin van Persie. That in itself deserves respest and he is 6-5 with boylesports to net.

Anytime scorers

Rhodes (Blackburn)

Lambert (Southampton, 5.30pm)

Goncalves (St Mirren)

Ngoo (Hearts)

Rooney (Man Utd – Sunday, 4pm)

Perm any 3,4 and all 5 (16 bets)

Fivefold pays a biggest £181.57 to a £1 stake at bet365

And remember to vote with a comment on the end of this article which market you want me to follow next weekend.

Conor, they’ll rest some but not all. I’ve done a big write-up in Record about it. Can’t see your email address, maybe admin killed it earlier. Right, I’m off.

  11. conor 5 years ago

bit of a bogey team in recent times if i recall

  12. Mr H 5 years ago

Looking through the goalscorers coupon from Ladbrokes and Messi is 7/2 for a hat-trick lol shorter price than most 1st scorers on the coupon

    Too score 2 goals

    Messi 4/5

    Sturridge 4/1
    Rooney 9/2

  13. John 5 years ago

  15. Craig alves 5 years ago

wouldn’t be too sure on Ronaldo to score 2+ gls wi man utd on Wednesday, chances are they’ll get it wrapped up early then take players off as the leagues lost anyway and champion league is the one that mourinho will want to win. same wi dortmund too imo

    • Mr H 5 years ago

Ronaldo obliged within 46mins,Mourinho cant afford to concentrate on the CL as its bad enough they finish behind Barca without finishing behind Athletico aswell. He will play his strongest 11 in most games for the remainder of the season too salvage what pride he can from a pretty poor season so far

  16. Danny 5 years ago

    Grant Holt (Norwich)
    Sam Baldock (BristolCity)

Not bad at all, I’m unsure as to the two loan players up in Scotland though, know nothing about them, I fancy a £20 treble on the others

  18. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Paul the prices must have changed for the better. £1 now returns £206.40

  19. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Paul just for a laugh whilst sticking on your draws and anytime goalscorers I decided to throw on a £1 acc on them all. £1 returns £36k. If my bet comes in I’ll pay for you, the wife and the kids to go away for a few days somewhere nice. How does that sound? Lol

  20. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Infact I take that back lol won’t even let me bet it as some are related bets doh!!
