IT’S D-Day for Danny Taylor and the fourfold we’re all keeping our eyes on is

For second seed Danny, based in Perth, Australia, to stay in the tournament he needs all his teams to win. He’s on Braunschweig, Monaco, Kaiserslautern and Watford and for the record the fourfold pays a biggest £98.30 to a £10 stake at Stan James.

If any of those sides lose our man is out and David Smith of Airdrie will be through to the last eight.

I’m concentrating today on my Daily Record column and weekend tips so I haven’t got much time to look at tonight’s actions. Here are some thoughts and I’ll update this piece later if I get a chance.

First, Danny’s pick Watford but if given a choice from he whole card their meeting with Crystal Palace is one I’d have left out.

It’s fourth v fifth and maybe even Matej Vydraw v Glenn Murray as two of the top scorers in the Championship go head to head.

I’m aware Watford are in decent form and Palace are better at home than they are away but it’s has the feeling of a stalemate that pays 13-5 at BetVictor.

In the SPL bottom dogs Dundee entertain Ross County and despite what boss Barry Smith says there is no way back for the Dens men who are 14 points adrift of rejuvenated St Mirren and 15 adrift of County and Kilmarnock.

County won at Dens at the start of the season but were held at home and in the previous three seasons in Div One beat the Tayside troops just twice.

However, County are on an impressive five-game unbeaten run which includes a draw at Dundee Utd and victories at St Mirren and Hibs and I can see them picking up the points here.

County are 8-5 with William Hill and boylesports and I’d consider skipper and penalty taker Richard Brittain at 11-2 at Coral to score at anytime.

In France leaders PSG take on Bastia and there is every chance of them winning to nil. PSG have kept eight successive clean sheets – winning seven of them – while their opponents haven’t netted in their last three.

PSG are 1-6 with firms such as Ladbrokes and William Hill so look at them to win to nil at 5-6 with Paddy Power.

Anyone doing a both team teams to score line should focus on the Dutch second division where games such as Go Ahead Eagles v Fortuna Sittard, Cambuur v Veendam and Emmen v Den Bosch should produce goals.

That btts treble pays £46.80 to a £10 stake at Stan James and if anyone wanted two more to add consider Watford v Palace and Erzgebirge v FSV Frankfurt in Bundesliga 2 to take a potential payout to £136.50.

Ross County
(8-5, William Hill, boylesports)

Brittain to score
(11-2, Coral)

PSG to win to nil
(5-6, Paddy Power)

Both teams to score treble (all 7.0)

Cambuur v Veendam

Emmen v Den Bosch

Go Ahead Eagles v Fortuna Sittard

Pay a biggest £46.80 to a £10 stake at Stan James

Mr F , what do you think of this for the weekend ?

Singles on all selections and also doubles.

    SOUTHEND @11/10

    SWINDON @4/9

    SHEFF WED -0.5 @2.300

    PORT VALE 1/1

    TWO Big singles :

    STEVENAGE WIN @ 23/10

    BENFICA @4/9

Milesey, you’ll know more about Stevenage then me but looks an away. I’m strong on Port Vale and Sheff Wed but may leave Southend out after their midweek efforts and I’m not touching Swindon until thing settle down there. Sunderland don’t convince when it comes to scorin but having added Danny Graham to Messi close Steven Fletcher you’d fancy your chances. Northampton-Rochdale wouldn’t have been on my list for overs but you never know.

      • Milesey 5 years ago

Rochdale average 3.2 Northampton 3….. that’s why i took it as an over 2.5 goals.

Swindon at home to Hartlepool should be fine, they are still getting the results with the bare squad they have…. chose Swindon for i saw no value at all in another team i liked BOURNEMOUTH @1/4.

Arsenal will score, and always leak a goal too, so i like the look of BTTS.

Derby are poor on the road, Sheff Wed have added some firepower to their lineup.

Stanley missing key players, are on a poor run, southend have one of the best away records in the league.

Port vale 1-0 was another i looked at , for if Barnet don’t score then normally tend to lose 1-0 in games.

And STEVENAGE FC, well……….. nothing to day there 😉

Milesey, I didn’t like the fact Rochdale’s recent games have been quite low scoring, that’s all. For these markets I like to look at fixture history and maybe last six or seven games.

Waiting on Watford/Crystal Palace both to score for £433.02 what do you think of the chances?

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

James, chances are good but you should be able to lay some of that off inrunning or even bet no to both teams to score before kick-off if you want some insurance.

  13. Danny 5 years ago

Don its been said many times be4 lower the standard lower the expectations obv course I hope they win for the sake of making the competition interesting over the weekend and for the lads on the site wae real cash on them…top of the table at home no shots on target there in fur a shock in the bundesliga next season

  14. Don 5 years ago

I read this on another tipping site:-

its not uncommon for braun to start off slow in the first 30-45 minutes when at home, but rest assure, when the chips are down they go all out in the second half, and they have the quality to seriously damage teams.

    Here’s hoping!

  15. Kane ciaputa 5 years ago

    It’s a really interesting card for me tonight, especially in the Dutch Eerste Divisie but i’m going to start my betting in the French leagues;

    Firstly PSG are to short for me and are even 1/2 at -1 I still can’t get exited. Milesey has convinced me not to do draw no bet any more although it is tempting, but I’m going to take a risk in others tonight;

    1) Caen v Sedan French League 2, 4/7

I’m going with Caen in this game who are certainly a condenser for promotion this season although Patrice Garande has been playing them a little to cautios of late. Still, Sedan sit rock bottom of the table and are playing an in form Caen side who if they have their right heads on can take one more step towards promotion tonight.

    2) Graadschap v Eindhoven FC -1 10/11

I cannot see struggling Eindhoven troubling the home side at all this evening, although they are without suspended captain Frank Van Kouwen but I’m still taking them at -1 for a tasty 10/11.
Previous results Graadschamp won 3-0 and 2-0

    3) Volendam v Telstar 4/7

Volendam have really impressed me lately, they have taken 11 points from 5 games and sit second in the form table (4th overall) their 2 powerhouses Tuyp and Kramer have netting 29 goals between them in 19 games and are the 1st and 2nd top scores in the league. I’m hoping Voldams renewed spirit will be to strong for Telstar tonight.

    4) Almere City v Sparta Rotterdam 5/6 (draw no bet 4/7)

I’m on a quad tonight because its just too tempting not to! I think these prices are reflective tonight for Sparta who had a shocking December for the strength of their squad but the win at home to Cambuur seemed to lift them a bit and has lifted them back on to top spot. New signing Alair Cruz Vicente should start tonight and should punish an Almere side who just lost 5-1 to Graafschamp last week.
I’m taking the draw no bet price for this since it’s a 4 fold at 4/7

Any comments? Good luck lads, illl try get these up earlier next time

Got my cards mixed up as come in late, the volendam game is not untill the 10th so I’m going to replace it with Maasterich draw no bet away to Excelsior for 4/6, good luck

  17. Chris Guy 5 years ago

    £60 Richard Brittain anytime @ 11/2 (Coral)

    £60 Ryan Conroy anytime @ 5/1 (Coral)
Ryan Conroy is from Dumbarton, I went to school with his Sister Nicola who I’m still friendly with. Ryan scores now and again and he hits the penalties for Dundee.

    PSG match

£100 PSG to be winning after 30 mins @ 23/20 (Ladbrokes)

£100 PSG to score in both halves @ 7/10

£120 PSG win + Ibrahimovic to score anytime @ 4/6 (Boylesports)

    £100 Lavezzi First Goalscorer @ 6/1 (Ladbrokes)

    £60 PSG 3-0 @ 13/2 (Victor Chandler)

    Good luck everyone.

why do you always have to put stakes, supposed to be tips, not hey look at me 😉 ;), thats pocket money to some of us , but others don’t feel the need to brag !

  20. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Its just one of those things Danny. At least you took it on the chin and carried on. Milesey will understand how you are feeling soon enough.

    • Milesey 5 years ago

hahaha, you will be out before me 😉 😉

  21. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Nobody bragging at all Milesey. No need to get upset. I like to put my stake up, just my preference that’s all. You never do that either? Mmmmm. Just off the top of my head I can recall you saying you were putting £100 on the enhanced treble the other day. What’s the difference? Some people can choose to put up stakes and some people choose not to. That’s up to them. Somebody else’s £10 could just be important to them as £500 to me. Also £500 isn’t pocket money to me. Its alot of money.

    • Milesey 5 years ago

At least you made it to Friday Danny, can’t see Chris Guy getting past wednesday on his go 😉 😉

Danny remember you can still play for the tenners that will be available throughout and I’ve been talking to Ladbrokes who like the way the contest has started and we might throw in some surprises along the way. Wreaxham (13.00)

  35. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Silentjoe the stakes aren’t aimed at anyone. I like to put up stakes for my own observation. It makes it easier for me to track my bets and wins/losses over the weeks. Alot of my betting comes from bookies money also. Some weeks I might not bet that much at all. Also people like to accuse you of lying about betting stakes etc so much so that it got to the stage I had to send proof of my bets to Paul. If I put my bets on the table it is clear how much profit or loss I have made on my selections.

Mr F , thought celtic would take care of caley th but with juve in mind you think caley th can cause a shock 5/1 as well

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Kirky, my piece in the Record tomorrow suggests a shock but also advises people to see the line-ups first. Lennon has indicated he’ll rest some and certainly won’t take any chances with the likes of Samaras and Izaguirre.

  37. Milesey 5 years ago

I was at the bar the other night and overheard three very hefty women talking at the bar.

Their accent appeared to be Scottish, so I approached and asked, “Hello, are you three lassies from Scotland?”

One of them angrily screeched, “It’s Wales, Wales you bloody idiot!”

So I apologized and replied, “I am so sorry. Are you three whales from Scotland?”

And that’s the last thing I remember.

  39. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Milesey that was quite a shit joke. Many beautiful women in Scotland I’ll let you know

  41. Knottsy 5 years ago

Chris i don’t think people are surprised by the amounts you bet. I’d think there’e lots of people on this site who bet decent amounts. I think people are surprised that you put this amount of money on such ridiculous bets. I’ve seen you losing thousands on here over the past year or so. I’ve seen you losing 5 or 6 hundred on limited cards on a Thursday or Friday night. Then 1 night you win a grand and suddenly your playing with bookies money? You’d need to win about 20 grand to be playin with bookies money! Seen you throwing hundreds at bookies night after night and the only logic is fave fgs or random midfielder who is “due a goal”
Would you not be better just picking 7 or 8 numbers on roulette wheel and putting £50 on them a few nights a week. Would have the same amount of chance and luck involved in your usual bets.

    • Milesey 5 years ago

Talking of roulette wheels, willy hill shops 2 weeks ago, if you played the machines they were giving away £40 free to play on the machines, they withdraw the offer after 1 hour after realising people were just putting £1 on every number , so £37 in total, then cashing it out, therefore from the free £40 bet they were getting £40 in cash and saying thank you very much hahahaha 😉 😉

I’ll tell you another story before i go and get my sleep, for up early for my 5 hour trip to Carlisle to watch the mighty STEVENAGE FC get 3 points.

A couple of weeks ago, in corals in the high street, reading the racing post, article on Frankel going into stud etc….. Bloke comes upto me and say ” you think they will put BIG BUCKS into stud while he is out injured ” i nearly fell of my chair.
I don’t think they are able to mate, BIG BUCKS don’t want to be dragging them b*ll*x over a fence does he hahaha, imagine if he got them caught on a fence ha ha ha ha ha ha 😉 😉 😉

Cracking observation knottsy, I hope any more guff that is spewed gets him chucked out the comp !
The comp that he’s desperate to do well in (win) at a canter – as it would be embarrassing to go out early due to the ease of losing 500 quid on a night with only 3 UK games on.

Anyone know who’s due a goal this weekend ?

      • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
        Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Darren, I’ve put up five. Here’s hoping. If anyone bets with McBookie and I think Hills take them also then have a look at Hamilton’s Stevie May, a right good player on loan at St Johnstone and has scored in his last five games. McBookie list first scorers for all SFL games on their site which is a great service.
