IT'S a normal league card in England but north of the border it's dominated by the Scottish Cup and there are some cracking ties.
I have one big Super Single pending on Ross County -2 and Celtic -3 in their weekend Scottish Cup ties against non-league outfits.
That was posted on Thursday morning and I'm putting a lot faith in League Cup finalists County against junior opposition.
I've posted separate Scottish and English previews with most of my picks reasoned there.
Seven matches in England and Scotland have been called off and the weather down south looks particularly bad so bear that in mind.
February has been good to me and I've been fairly cautious although I was kicking myself last night for adding over 2.5 goals at Nimes to over 2.5 at Belenenses and Borussia Monchengladbach as originally I was going with the double.
It was good night for Greg with a Nap and NB winner and watch out for his tips in the morning.

That didn’t take long, and onto the negatives: How long have you got??
We’re a team that are devoid of confidence at the moment, we’re beaten Hartlepool in the FA cup on Jan 9th, beaten Fulham at our place 2 nil on boxing day ( our last league win ), drawn Leeds, Reading and now Preston, well beaten by Middlesborough, Birmingham and Burnley and I cannot believe that we are only 6 points off the top spot. Granted that top slot has 1 game in hand and 2nd on 55 pts – 1 behind the leaders have 2 games in hand but on boxing day, Derby were 12 points clear of 7th spot. That gap is now down to 3 points.
Looking at the fixtures – from the ” on paper ” aspect and to be truthful I’d of expected Derby to be 6 or 7 points up on their current tally, but really?? Playing against Preston, getting a point when we deserved nothing from that game. Zilch. Yes we were that bad.
Martin is still being marked out of the game and our midfielders are somewhat toothless. I was so chuffed to see Hendrick back in the starting 11, only to see him subbed on 6o odd mins for Bryson… whaaaaat !!!!
Aside from tying up our heavy hitters on 4 and 5 year deals, we’ve spent 15-20 mill on players and after a limp start, a terrific sept/oct/nov/dec, we are back to dire jan/feb and a repeat of last season. They do say that confidence breeds confidence and when a team is down, its how they respond to drag their way out of it that they will ultimately be judged. I had hoped for a win against Preston and the re-introduction of the likes of Hendrick and Bryson who have been our backbone for the past 2.5 seasons but the boss isn’t having any of it. I know Bryson is being nursed back to fitness but we really need him back in the side. People forget 18 months ago, he got us 17 league goals from midfield ( 2 hatricks ). If martin isn’t on the goals, then he needs dropping and Blackman being the focal point of the attack, or why not get rid of this 4-3-3 that’s clearly been sussed out by everyone and as Mike Bassett says ” 4-4-f*cking 2.
Something major has to change, we’re in a rut and the mini-crisis is starting to turn into a crisis. 2 or 3 more games like our last 6 or 7 and we’re moving into critical.
We have a team captain ( Chris Baird ) who’s started maybe 3 games and had about the same games as sub – why is he the damn captain then??? Keogh with Shackell is not working, Keogh needs dropping and Buxton back in the 11. Christie in right back needs swapping out for an out and out defender – Chris Baird?? Warnocks doing ok filling in on the left defence too.
I’d like to see ince on left mid, with Hendrick and Thorne in the middle and Russell on the right mid.
2 strikers up front, 1 playing off the other – maybe Martin stepping back from the centre stage and Blackman taking that mantle.
We have strength right through the team – and bench, but its not working out, hell, most of our bench would get in most championship starting 11’s.
Against Preston for the first 10 mins, I thought we were going to see a cricket score come up, we were in their faces from 25 seconds in with Hendrick spearheading that opening salvo.
A rigid 4 at the back and a pair of battlers in the middle would give our wide runners that chance to hit them fast on the break with a pair of strikers in the middle and a late arriving Hendrick to further compound their back line. Preston set up with 5 defenders. I can’t see Fulham doing the same, they’ll fancy going for it against us. I hope they do, it may give us the freedom to do our thing.
I will give you one positive about this match though. We have a terrific record against Fulham, they’re not doing too well, in a similar situation to Preston.
The last 5 matches between the two teams have seen a 2 nil to derby ( this season ), last season, they beat us 2 nil in the league at theirs, we won 5-1 in the league at ours, won 5-2 in the league cup at theirs – same season and drew 2-2 the season before. Fulham have conceded 14 goals in 5 against us and scored 7.
This isn’t going to be a cricket score, we’re due a change in fortune, maybe we’ll scrape a 1 goal margin win, but an away draw would be a positive which we could use to turn our season around. I loath to bet on a Derby win and I hate predicting draws too, but I noticed Derby and Preston got a very late yellow each. ( just shows you how lacking in forcefulness we’ve been – low cards ).
I’m inclined to suggest this will change today, go overs 3.5 total cards when the market opens, Derby have got to start showing some teeth.
I also recommend this will yield 2 or 3 goals. – that pays evens with bet365.
what I do like the look of but its a bit shy on price is the 8/13 on offer from bet365 that both teams to score in both halfs – selection of no/no … it’s in the goals tab.

Bradford City today:
Can’t see us getting much at Burton sadly.
The home side have faltered a bit, but look certs for promotion to me. Albeit they’ve lost out narrowly to Shrewsbury and Oldham, I think they’ll have too much for us at home.
John McLaughlin was a great servent for City between the sticks and he’ll have a point to prove today, and it’s one I agree with. Though I wouldn’t swap former Hibs stopper Ben Williams for any keeper outside the top flight (and certainly not for Brad Jones!) Big Mac still had a role to play at Valley Parade and we shout never have let him go.
City could go with an untried front pairing today (if we risk two up top) with on loan Birmingham hit man Wes Thomas and permanent new boy Jamie Proctor, formerly of Fleetwood Town. The latter scored on his debut, and Thomas hit the bar last weekend in the move that led to our winner against Port Vale.
Both look to be good additions but I think today might be a bit early for them in terms of taking on the arguably the leagues best side.
Thomas is the only City player to face Burton this season (the proposed Boxing Day fixture was washed out) when he squared up to them with Swindon, where he scored 2 in his first 4 games before a hamstring injury hamstrung his loan spell with the Robins.
City are yet to beat a team ranked above us in the league this season, and I doubt we can rekindle the spirit of 2013 (where we came from 3-2 down in the league 2 playoff semi final) to end that record today.
James Meredith, Australian international and best left back in the division is out, and City never look as strong without him.
Sorry to say it, but if I were a gambling man, I’d be all over the home win.

rj3, I feel the same but there are no guarantees.
County should win by at least four or five but it’s the biggest match in Linlithgow’s history and they have some decent players – guys who have been around at senior level.
But if County play anywhere near their potential it has to be a rout.
rj3 this is what happened me in January all my eggs in the one basket on teams that should have destroyed the opposition but didn’t in which resulted in me losing a good bit of money, not saying it wont win but just be careful.

Really like your Burnley bet Mr Fixit, Hull are a different side away from home.
Another one I like the look of in the Championship is Ipswich to win at QPR at 2/1.
A draw is likely outcome but I don’t see QPR winning so at 2/1 im happy to take a bit of a risk on Ipswich.
Qpr have won just 4 of their 14 home games this season but drawing 8 of them! Ipswich have the second best away from in the Championship loosing just 4 of 14.

A day of mixed fortunes today… landed a 13/1 in-play six fold on 15:00 kickoffs which was good but disappointed to lose the main bets. A eigth minute red card for Guingamp effectively downed the NAP and I was one goal away at Villa vs Norwich.
Bit early but I think price will drop a touch.
I’ve said before how great I think Fraser Forster is..Lionel Messi said he is one of the best Keepers he has came up against.
Last season Forster was injured for 6 months but still had 11 clean sheets…De Gea had 7 and played more games.

Wellington are a decent team who have lost only once recently – top side Auckland City beat them 1 zip.
I can see Wellington winning this one by a few goals and both their own and Southern’s games feature plenty of action.
365 have a limited market up but Coral’s will populate around midnight.
Realistically, 4+ goals looks well on. BTTS usually appeals in the NZ games but there’s every chance Southern might not notch here.
