BRISTOL CITY were a major letdown on Tuesday and the least said about them the better. There weren't many good things on the coupon so fair play to anyone who bagged a win.
Wednesday's a pretty quiet night but I like the look of Dumbarton, Napoli and Nottingham Forest (if they field a strong side) while I've taken Real Madrid to beat Atletico Madrid and fancy Barcelona to put a few past Real Sociedad.
Peterborough should see off Swindon but I don't like betting on JP Trophy Matches while in Holland Twente can move within a point of leaders Ajax with a win at Heerenveen but it won't be easy.
There's only one match in Scotland – but what a game. Dumbarton v Livingston … and surely the Sons owe me one after what happened a fortnight ago.
They were my Super Single choice but when their match was postponed I plumped for Scunthorpe – and we know how that one panned out.
Dumbarton have been in impressive form but due to the weather their last three matches have been away. Ian Murray's side drew 3-3 with title hopefuls Hamilton at the weekend after winning 5-1 at Alloa and 4-2 at Cowdenbeath.
If they can replicate that form under the shadow of Dumbarton Castle – and they did win their last home game against Morton – they should pick up the points.
Livingston have lost three of their last four and have fallen to third bottom – but just four points behind a Dumbarton side who will move into the fourth play-off spot with a victory. It's that tight.
Both fixtures this season have been away wins and Dumbarton have triumphed just three times at home – six away – so that's a slight concern but they are top scorers in the division.
The addition of striker Chris Kane on loan from St Johnstone has given them a massive lift and gives me the confidence to back them. Kane netted the late equaliser at Hamilton and is 4-1 with McBookie to score first and 37-40 at anytime.
Paul McGinn and Chris Turner return from bans for Dumbarton but keeper Jamie Ewings and midfielder Hugh Murray are out. Simon Mensing is a doubt for the Lions but new Slovenian defender Nejc Mevlja is poised to make his debut.
Anyone backing the Super Single to level £10 stakes would be £21.40 down this month. If Dumbarton don't win I'll put up a shortlist on Thursday and Friday and site users can pick their favourite.
I've stuck up Real Madrid on a separate thread and Barcelona -1 or -2 looks the call at home to Real Sociedad in the other semi-final.
Lyon should beat shocktroops Troyes as they bid to set up a French League Cup Final showdown with PSG but they're no bigger than 2-7.
Roma entertain Napoli in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final. Roma look a great bet at 1-1 with Betfred and William Hill and nothing Oor man in Napoli's said has put me off them.
My understanding is Roma will field a full-strength side and will have fresher legs after their match with Parma at the weekend was called off.
Roma have played 23 games this season and lost just once – to Juventus – and crucially they're trying to win the cup for the 10th time and add a prestigious silver star to their jersey.
While Twente look decent at over evens the best bet in their match could be both teams to score. Six of the last seven meetings have brought up this market including a 1-5 and 2-6.
In England I'll be on Nottingham Forest at Preston in their FA Cup replay but only if I see Billy Davies is putting out a strong side.

Cant disagree with Roma. Napoli 3 games in 7 days and just a bit jaded. The game is a week early for me and a 1-0 wont kill Rafa. He wants the cup but champions league football is number one, followed by coppa, followed by europa league. Its been floods in Rome and there have been some infrastructure problems so im surprised the game is still on. Both teams play football, possibly Napoli appreciate a smooth pitch more and the pitch could get cut up quickly.

Not trying to cloud the water but i would still be wary of lumping a Coppa game into a treble. It is the Coppa. Even though Napoli are going to be a bit weary their squad is bigger and has more quality in it than Roma.
Roma won 2-0 in the league in Rome but they were given those goals(a penalty and a free kick by the same defender who no longer plays at Napoli) and Napoli missed a few howlers.
Its always worth remembering.
But I still think Roma will win but id be surprised if they won by 3 or even 2 goals.

in 6 weeks of this new year the super singles is only on about a 20% hit rate. I view this site everyday so im not a troll just think I have an opinion,
It needs a new strategy, not having a pop just saying. I haven’t bet for 4days now on them and the only one which came in was sunday, which was a argument I raised last year about doing 2doubles which would win instead of a single.
IF you do £10 stakes on the ss you will need to win 3 on the bounce just to break even as it stands. people will try and change there stake to win back there money and atm its just going to cause them more losses unless something changes.
Why not make the super single lowests odds of 1/2 or 1/3 and make the stake £20 that way you would make the same on a 1/2 shot for £20 as you would a £10 even. surley this would make more sence for the time being and it would get us all in profit again.The points system would also work better on these stakes.

Knowledgable punters will already be ware of these teams an in general our audience know what they’re doing. For years I’ve put up Super Singles with good profits – one bad month won’t stop me. However, when I don’t see one I like at evens I may go with the double. Bottom line is look at the single and only back it if you agree.
I understand that is the tradition of this site and don’t get me wrong ive had better months than others but im sure if everyone made money everyday and it wasn’t over evens people would rather that than loosing.

Considering Barcelona are 1-8 for the win, the 5/6 for Barca to win both halves seems pretty generous. Sociedad have been hammered by the top teams away from home this season and I’m sure Barca will want to put this out of site before going to San Sebastian for the second leg. Something to consider also, Barca responded to their previous league defeat by winning the next seven games in all competitions, scoring 28 goals in the process.

I wouldn’t blame anyone for having a little go after the last couple of days, but it’s going to get better and after 10 out of 11 weeks of profit since I’ve been doing these detailed tips and write-up’s I’m not bothered in the slightest. Jack – Thanks for the comment. I personally do them adjusted stakes, but level stakes has seen profit 10/11 weeks so far too. It really is up to you, but on days like today with only 2 selections, level stakes would work fine.

This is truly a match for the stato’s out there and one in which should deliver us some goals! The leagues highest scoring teams meet and the goals these two have seen so far this season has been exceptional! Let’s start with Twente, just one defeat in their last 14, they’ve won 7 of their last 8 and have scored 2 or more in 9 of their last 11! Despite scoring they aren’t the cleverest at the back having conceded in their last 12 ( Both teams scored in those 12). The hosts too have seen plenty if goals with 10 of their last 14 over 3.5 with 12 of those matches seeing both teams score! Everything points toward goals here, obviously it doesn’t always work about like that but I can see at least three bing scored tonight with Twente in rampant form coming out on top!

After looking at a pretty dry card but i’ve found some bets that I think are worthwhile.
Dumbarton are on a great run of form at the moment but are going to have to start picking up there home form if they want to start pushing up the table, so tonight is a good chance to start that at home to a poor Livingston side at 6/5. Athletico are looking great this season and with Deigo Costa scoring goals for fun I can see him getting one tonight. Real will face a tough game tonight and think they will win but I feel more value is in the both teams to score market, with both teams to score at 4/6.NEC Nijmengen and NAC Breda is the last game I have chosen as I think it will be a game that produces goals. Upon some research I have found that NEC at home have averaged 4.5 goals and NAC away from home have averaged 3.7 so based on stats this game could have plenty goals but I think over 2.5 to be a little safer would be good at 6/10. I put all selections in a treble and got just over 4/1.
Am on Livingston tonight. Won last 5 that I can see away to Dumbarton and have left with more away points this season (13) than Dumbarton have won at home (12). Dumbarton are a much better side away from home picking up 19 points on the road. 12/5 skybet for Livingston surely worth backing.

Bryan, I think you’re being very harsh. Mr F has had just ONE losing month, over a very long period. I’ve been following this site for a long time and I don’t remember any other losing months (correct me if I’m wrong) so if you’re following the SS, you cannot fail to be in profit. One bad month makes no difference. Keep the faith.

Panthrakikos vs Platanias
Panthrakikos won one important point in last game they played in Veroia, but they are now in big problems. In that game their third goalie got a red card and now they have huge problems because their three goalkeepers are out. Change of goalkeeper always brings confuse to defense and I think that we will see exactly that from Panthrakikos. Platanias on the other side made big sensation, they won three points against PAOK. They were trailing right after the start, but PAOK was underestimating them under that and they used it. Their coonfidence is on maximum now and I think that they can steal a point in Komotini.

Hey Oor man, is it just me, or has the popularity of Serie A fallen quite dramatically the last 2 or 3 years? Personally my own mates dont watch any Serie A, even Coppa Italia finals just Premier.
Anyhow, I for one always like to keep an eye out for the derbies in Serie A and always check weekends results, and may even watch tonight’s game featuring your favourite club Napoli!

Mr F, it has yet to happen to me, touch wood, but what happens if I back a player to score, but the ball takes a deflection and goes down as on OG?
cooldude, if your player scores with the aid of a deflection and it’s officially put down as an OG then it’s loser. The general rule in the UK is if it was on target it would the player’s goal but if the shot was going wide or is turned in through a deliberate movement it’s an OG.
A strong Forrest side failed to score against Preston and Preston were the better side in the first game. Preston beat a good Blackpool side at deepdale earlier in the season . I advise caution in this match and feel it’s best avoided.

Wherever the money is, is where the popularity resides. And the premiership is where the tv deals and eastern owners are.
Of course Serie A was the first super league from the late 80s to 90s tipping the 00s. They created aspects of what the game is now.
It payed a high price for swishing money around like it was Monopoly money but now things are stable and most Serie A teams are healthy but not super rich. This is because almost all Serie A teams are owned by Italians.
Italian game is still probably the toughest of the lot, arguably. Certainly the most tactical of all.
Serie A is transforming now as many teams look to build new stadium which has been hard under italian laws. There are still many issues that need solved.
Napoli being 4/1? Well odds are the last thing i look at in Serie A and B. You spot the wins and do it whether its 7/2 or 4/5. I dont let odds or popularity sway me on who i think will win. I hsd Carpi on at 9/4 at the weekend and they won 4-1
I get to the games when i can, and I live in Italy and Scotland and no im not rich!
It could be a cracking match but I think Roma may spoil it. They may be quite happy to just sit back as they will likely be scared at Napoli counter attacking. Napoli dont like walls. They rely on speed and quick passing and a wall stops all that fun. Tiredness will factor.

I have been doing a daily double now for a while and having pretty good success rate with it so now with a bit of confidence and wins behind me thought would start posting on here. My double odds is usually between at least evens and 6/4 and find it can be a good way to go as a couple of 2/5 shots can give you a good even money bet. I now plan to post my daily double most days and will keep a track record for all to see.
At the same time would just liek to say a big thanks to Mr F for all his effort along with the regular posters who I follow every day and in particular as you can see it involves a lot of time and effort.

Whilst Forest have scored 7 goals in the last 2 games these have both been at home. Away from home lately they have been fairly goal shy managing just 3 goals in the last 4 away games. Preston dont concede many having had clean sheets in their last 3 games including th nil nil draw in the 1st leg between the sides. I can see a fairly cagey, tight game here similar to last night and whilst I feel yunder 2.5 goals has a string chance I will take under 3.5 for the double at odds of around 1/3.

Sticking to low odds low risk for this evening and staying away from the tight cup games, although I like Roma’s price.
The 3 Dutch games all look over 2.5 and they all average well in the stats, even the game down the bottom end, NEC v NAC looks good for goals but as Im playing safe I’ll go over 1.5 on the 3 of them. Apart from the horsie heroics some quality football tipping today. Im looking at you Greg, your my go to guy for French tips now haha. Alex, your research into the more obscure leagues in Europe has won me more coin than I care to count and I always look for your tips so a bad day at the office is hardly the end of the world. Gets my utmost respect actually, as do the tipsters here who consistently find games I ordinarily wouldn’t look at to back.

Greg, that’s true. While Dumbarton have drawn I also tipped wins tonight for Real Madrid and Roma as well as Forest (after teams were revealed) so some decent singles and tips there.

Sticking to low odds low risk for this evening and staying away from the tight cup games, although I like Roma’s price.
The 3 Dutch games all look over 2.5 and they all average well in the stats, even the game down the bottom end, NEC v NAC looks good for goals but as Im playing safe I’ll go over 1.5 on the 3 of them. Treble pays 8/13, which is OK but I’m adding Lyon and Benfica who should both come through against lower league opposition. The five fold pays 5/2.
Happy days. Lads I’m thinking this might be the future, especially on quiter cards or between big games. Since Sunday night I’ve had 4 accas upin a row all at low odds, all containing over 1.5. I haven’t had four accas up in a row in about a year! Like I said a few times I’m now a believer that three odds on ‘bankers’ paying evens is more likely to come in than an even money single, which will always be a tough game. That for me delivers a punters secret weapon, VALUE. I.e. same odds but more likely to happen. Anyway, I will try it for a while longer, I used to have a selection criteria for over 1.5 before I moved onto Fixed odds and horses that I’ll go back to and I’ll post up my thoughts.

If anybody is waiting on barca to win both halves you could cover by doing the second half result to be a draw at 8s. Not really worth it if its just a single but if you have it in an acca its maybe worth a tenner to guarantee profit in case it enss 2-1 or something. You could back sociedad to win the second half at 28s as well but thats highly unlikely now.
If anyone ever wonders what a good bet is I’ll tell u its obe where u can honestly say win or lose all things being equal you would so the same bet again tomorrow. And having watched that game tonight I’d have no hesitation in betting. Dumbarton again!

Ryzo, no problem naming the player (Adam Strachan). In my opinion the best player in the juniors, a real talent, beats men like they’re not there and great crosser and striker of a ball. Unfortunately he’s been in a lot of trouble off the park and it’s a real shame. He’s been brilliant since he rejoined us this season and will be big loss for Clydebank who have released him. Will be a great addition to the prison team though if he gets banged up!

I’m a great fan of this site and in particular Greg, The Dane and the Chief who produce fantastic tips consistently but I can totally understand people frustrations with the ‘main tips’ in particular the super single which I must say has lost its way majorly this year. I wasn’t on tonight’s single bet as Dumbarton was an out and out gamble in my opinion in the way that a 1 x or 2 wouldn’t really have surprised in a league where on their day anyone can beat anyone. As a Scotsman I’m well aware of how tight this league where as others in England and Europe might not be. I had Greenock Morton on the double chance away to Dundee last week at a fantastic price, but I’m aware of what’s happening at Morton and didn’t even look at the league table which would have put many punters off. Any bad run such as this one leads to a drop in confidence and this has resulted in the super single list going to a vote where no responsibility lands in the event of a loss, surely this contradicts the name of the site?. Hard lines with tonight’s treble although again it’s a sign of bad form and luck at present in selecting the only game in Hollands eredivise to not go BTTS. What i really find frustrating is the fact Mr.F has picked out Roma at Super Single criteria and even Madrid who were more than reasonably priced but went with an ambitious 13/10 in the lower leagues of Scotland. In times of bad form surely it’s safer to go with your European big guns to get you back in the game and the money?

Yeah I seen several people backing Madrid not to win, but the bookies priced this match up accordingly in my opinion and Real Madrid looked as comfortable as I’ve seen them in months.

The only bad thing about the last three ss loses is there was no opportunity to cover at any stage during the games. I know it’s been a bad run lately but got out of a lot of them with a small profit so minimised any loses….
