Feb 3: The Saint Greg Browning’s Goals Tips

GREG landed his nap and a French double yesterday and is back with what he hopes are more winners.

He says: I’m off this week so had time to have a good look through today’s card.

Lille v Caen (6pm)

There’s somewhat of a revival taking place at Lille, a club more associated with top-four finishes. It’s been a disappointing campaign from them but despite sitting in a lowly 15th they are just 10 points off fourth and come into this off the back of a good 1-1 away at Marseille and a 5-1 demolition of Bordeuax at home.

Caen are having a terrific season but Lille aren’t a club they enjoy playing. Lille are unbeaten in an impressive 13 home matches against today’s visitors having won 10 and drawn three and over the piece have lost just four in the the last 25 meetings between the sides.

Was difficult to pick whether to go for goals here or the straight win but given Lille’s scoring record at home against Caen reads 1, 3, 3, 3, 4, 2, 5, 3, 2,3 I’m taking them to continue that trend.

Back Lille over 1.5 team goals 1-1 (Bet365) (NAP)

Everton v Newcastle (7.45pm)
Aberdeen v Celtic KO (7.45pm)

Was close to posting this as an Everton/Celtic win double but feel both have a good chance for goals.

Back over 2.5 match goals double (7-4)

Palermo v AC Milan KO (7.45pm)

Back over 2.5 match goals 21-20

@mr-fixit I got a free bet on Betfair sportbook. Im just trying to place Gregs NAP. What I can see in there is Lille to score 2+ goals. Is this same as over 1.5 goals or does more then 2 goals have to come in to win.

dragoon, over 1.g oals is the same as 2+ – bookies just word some things differently.

@dragoon 2+ should be the same as over 1.5. Some bookies show it one way, some the other

Hmmm, don’t fancy the NAP much, tempted to blindly follow as I usually do! What do you rate as more important Greg current form or H2H? I would say current form, just looking at lille and they’ve only scored more than 1 goal once in their last ten outings and that was in the cup. I always associate Lille as low scorers and a quick look over this seasons stats certainly backs that up – they’ve only scored more than once on 3 occasions out of 23 ligue 1 games this season. So I’ll give it a miss, I’ll be on the rest though. Thanks for your tips as always.

davisam, that’s the best way – if you don’t like it leave it out.
I don’t know if Greg’s about but I always favour form over h2h.
Off out to hit some balls at the driving range with the boy, grab a bite and back for the footie later.
Good luck to everyone with all of their bets.

Yeah, I’ll watch tonight and still hope it comes in for everyone else. After last nights Morecambe GKs equaliser to bring up my 5fold I feel like I shouldn’t jump ship!! Greg does seem to have the gods on his side at times! Sounds like a good night mate, enjoy and best of luck later.

Davisam, was a toss between them just to win and to score two! Form
Is more inportant but I guess it depends on how far you look back as their most recent form is good! Theres no hiding from the fact Lille are a bit of a bogey team for Caen, especially at Lille (no wins in last 13) – Lille have been poor this season but they’ve performed well in their last two matches against two decent sides to suggest they have a chance of scoring two tonight! The bookies dont often get it wrong and have Lille at odds on which is surprising given caen’s league position ( I guess that has more to do with Lille’s reputation) can understand why you may be weary of it,- will always be matches posted that’s not for everyone and like you and Mr F said, best not to bet on it of you don’t fancy it! Good luck with the rest of your bets tonight mate!
