IT’S another busy midweek in the Irn-Bru Scottish Football Leagues – and another chance to give the bookies a run for their money.

Some shock results in recent weeks have killed off decent-looking coupons with Livingston’s disappointing 3-1 loss at Ayr on Saturday ruining a pay day with Falkirk and Elgin both doing the business.

Let’s hope for better this midweek and we kick off in the Irn-Bru Second Division and Dumbarton’s home clash with Stenhousemuir on Tuesday night.

The Sons have been on an excellent run of form and have won seven of their last eight with the other result being a 1-1 away draw at Forfar.

Stenny go into this one only a place behind them in the standings but more importantly are seven points behind the Sons after losing four of their last six games.

There shouldn’t be much in this one but I am tipping a Sons side who have won two of the last three clashes between the teams at a tempting 23-20 with Sportingbet.

We move on to the Third Division match between Elgin and Clyde and after such a marathon journey north in a midweek night in the middle of February I do not have much hope for the Bully Wee.

Elgin are on a fantastic run of form and after knocking in 14 goals in their last four matches have climbed up to contention for the end-of-season play-offs.

In contrast, Clyde have lost four of their last six matches and go into this encounter 16 points behind the Borough Briggs men.

Clyde won their second away win of the season at Berwick at the weekend but I can’t see anything other than an Elgin win and am taking them at 7-10 with Stan James.

We finish up in the Third Division and turn our attention to Queen’s Park’s away trip to face Montrose.

The Spiders have been in decent form as they have climbed up to third in the table and after an undefeated run of four games will look to strengthen their play-off chances.

They square up to a Montrose side with one draw and five losses in their last six matches and you have to fancy the three points heading back to Hampden at 4-5 with Stan James.

These games are all being played on Tuesday night so if you are a winner you may want to reinvest some of your winnings on Ross County triumphing at Ayr on Wednesday night (5-6, Betfred), and Arbroath winning at home to Airdrie (4-5, with bet365, sportingbet) on the same night.
