CELTIC will be champions and Dundee will finish bottom – that’s the reality of a Scottish Premier League that has been less of a dogfight without Rangers.

THE one fascinating fight is for second place with eight teams – all capable of beating each other -separated by just four points.

With some fans losing interest the return to Scotland for former big-time players James McFadden and Kris Boyd has sparked excitement and both could feature tonight.

Faddy has resurfaced at Motherwell and has made two brief sub appearances for Well but Boyd is waiting for his first run-out for Killie and is eyeing a crack at Hibs.

McBookie.com rate SPL record scorer Boyd 1-2 to net in the league before McFadden who is 6-4. And to net more this season it’s 2-7 Boyd, 5-2 McFadden and that’s difficult to argue with.

Throughout his career Faddy has been linked with moves to Celtic and he’ll get a close-up view of the opposition as Neil Lennon’s men visit Fir Park tonight.

The boss rotated his players at the weekend and still saw a 5-0 win against Dundee so despite missing the likes of Mikael Lustig, Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew this should be another three points for the champions-elect who 8-13 at Coral.

Well haven’t netted in their last two games and looked poor as they crashed 3-0 at Ross County at the weekend. Celtic may be 21 points clear at the top but Lennon has challenged his men to win their remaining games and seal the deal as quickly as possible.

There has been much debate on the site about who’ll score first for Celtic and goals have been shared about recently with Joe Ledley and Efe Ambrose netting first in the last two.

In the end I’ve gone with Victor Wanyama to score at 13-2 with Skybet.

Inverness v Dundee Utd has the look of a cracker with plenty of goals so try over 3.75 at 15-8 (bet365).

United have netted 11 goals in five games since Jackie McNamara took charge with just one clean sheet. They’ll be out to avenge a 4-0 defeat at Inverness earlier in the season while the first meeting at Tannadice finished 4-4.

ICT have won just one in six so I’m looking at a draw that pays 13-5 at BetVictor. Johnny Russell has netted in all five of McNamara’s matches and is 6-4 at Coral and Betfred to score, 11-2 to hit the opener.

If there are plenty of goals the chances of ICT leading marksman Billy McKay being on target are good and he is 11-8 with Skybet to net.

John Brown makes his bow as Dundee boss but I can’t see him getting any joy from St Johnstone who are 1-1 at Ladbrokes.

Brown faces a thankless, taking over a side 15 points adrift at the bottom and with fans questioning his appointment and previous boss Barry Smith’s sacking.

Rowan Vine’s been banging them in for Saints, including the weekend winner against St Mirren, and is 5-1 (various) to break the deadlock.

Hibs can beat Killie if Leigh Griffiths is fully fit. The star striker is expected to recover from a dead leg and the home win pays 7-5 at William Hill with Griffiths is 4-1 (various) to score first.

The League Cup Final rehearsal between St Mirren and Hearts could be a draw (12-5, BetVictor) with both sides off the boil and possibly dreaming of their Hampden showdown on March 17.

Wanyama to score
(13-2, Skybet)

Vine to score first
(5-1, Skybet, Coral, Ladbrokes)

St Mirren v Hearts draw
(12-5, BetVictor)

Head busting with first Goalscorers for Celtic game. Already god Ledley on and a small bet on Rogne. Commons is also a good bet at 7/1. Apparently he’s shook off a virus and should start so will resume penalty duties also but I’ve also tipped Wanyama at 14/1 which is huge. If Wanyama starts in Midfield it will be £50 first and last for me. If he starts in defence then maybe £50 on Commons.

I’ve decided to wait for the starting line ups, loads of players at Celtic are scoring so when i get line ups i’ll have a pop at a 1st goalscorer and an anytime scorer…or might just do a treble of anytime scorers with Vine, Russell and Ledley

    Hi Mr F.,

I know it will show how painfully unknowledgeably I am, but would kindly you put in brackets the club who the goalscorers you tip play for.

I can’t find Rowan Vines’ club for this this evenings’ game for the life of me.

    Best Regards,

Im gonna fire a few quid on Kelvin Wilson 1st goal tonight. Never scored for celtic so here’s hoping tonight’s the night! Odds should be about 25-30/1.

  7. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Kevin generally available @ 50/1 or you can have 74/1 if you have a Betfair account

John, a few injuries and said he’ll rotate. Should be strong enough. So my Bale/Wanyama first-scorer double becomes a single and I’ll go with Ledley to score instead.

    Mr Fixit,
A question on anytime goalscorers,I put Baines for Everton on last night and scored, put him as a double with sproule anytime for ross county-just my luck he comes off and Glen who replaced hime scores, what happens with my anytime double as sproule went off before any goals scored, would it revert to a single or is just lost bet as he was on and had chance to score at some point.

    • Guido 5 years ago

Unfortunately James it a loser I’m afraid :-(

James, it’s definitely a loser. He started so had the opportunity to score the first goal. Only void if he doesn’t start then comes on after the first goal is scored.

ooops M’well taken the lead that’s blown a few fgs bets…someone did say they fancied M’well to score first tonight earlier today….

  12. JAMES GAULT 5 years ago

Thought that but just living in hope, hacked off as said Glen comes on for Sproule and scores in the position Sproule would have been, but thanks for the confirmation.

    • Guido 5 years ago

I had Sproule on masle James…he was a good shout…widna desert him/he’ll come good again soon I think

  13. Chris Guy 5 years ago

Stupid team put out by Neil Lennon. Stick Ledley and Hooper on the park. I have £20 on ht Motherwell FT Celtic @ 25/1 so hopefully they can pull it back.

  14. GrantH 5 years ago

Mr F, my first goalscorer bet with Coral on Ledley is a loss. Should it not be void if he wasn’t on the park at the time of the first goal?

Grant H, first scorer bet should be void, anytime scorer would be a loser. Just check they have the right team lines because earlier Sky put out the wrong ones and in that line-up they had Ledley starting.
