The Philadelphia 76ers announced the buyout of Danny Granger on Wednesday that will allow the veteran forward to sign with another team and be eligible for the post season.
The move comes after the Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Pacers traded Granger to the 76ers last week for forwards Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen. The Sixers also received a future second-round pick.
Granger, 30, has been hampered by injuries recently. He missed most of last season after undergoing knee surgery and has played in only 29 games this season because of a calf injury. He returned to action on December 20 and averaged 8.3 points and 3.6 rebounds this season for the Pacers.
He will now choose between elite play-off teams looking to add another key player. Granger is expected to make his decision once he clears waivers Friday.
NBA.com reported five teams are on Granger's radar – the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat. ESPN reported the Clippers and Spurs lead the pack and Yahoo Sports say the Clippers have the edge right now. The Chicago Tribune also reported the Bulls are among the teams chasing Granger.
Granger made his lone All-Star appearance in 2009, the year he finished fifth in the league in scoring at 25.8 per game. In Granger's last full season, 2011-12, he averaged 18.7 points and five rebounds.
With veteran forward Nene expected to be out four to six weeks with a knee injury, the Washington Wizards signed forward Drew Gooden to a 10-day contract to help offset the loss. The 6-foot-10 Gooden last played in the NBA during the 2012-13 season with the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 19 games.
The Memphis Grizzlies sent guard Jamaal Franklin to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Development League for the third time this season. The 6-foot-5 Franklin, who was selected in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft, has appeared in 19 games with the Grizzlies this season and is averaging 1.5 points and 1.1 rebounds.
Sacramento Kings signed guard Orlando Johnson to a 10-day contract and also appear close to adding forward Royce White. The Kings announced the addition of Johnson, who was averaging 2.4 points and 1.3 rebounds before the Indiana Pacers waived him on February 20.
The third-year pro, who was picked by the Kings in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft and then traded to the Pacers, has career averages of 3.3 points and 1.8 rebounds.
The Houston Chronicle reported that White, the No.16 overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 2012 draft, worked out with the Kings and was likely to sign a 10-day contract.
New York Knicks guard Raymond Felton practiced on Wednesday and will play in Thursday night's game against the Miami Heat after his court appearance Tuesday on gun charges. Felton was charged with a third-degree count of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of a firearm. Both are considered felonies in New York.

Deandre, I always tend to place £5-10 6+ fold accumulators, just feel like I get more value for money. I often bet on the American football, won around £500 profit this season, the other lovely thing I enjoy about American sports, is ties tend to be the final final final resort and an American football game finishing as a tie is around 98%

Well this is how I see it going…the Blazers are much younger and more athletic, they obviously lack the experience that Brooklyn have but then again so do most teams…Portland is a notoriously hard place to go to. Without LA they’re lacking a bit of size, but I think they’ll run the Nets off the floor. Go with your gut and do the handicap. If they lose I’ll expect plenty of abide from yourself :-D

Apparently the official rule states the whole 9th inning should be void if this happens, meaning that the two runs that Detroit got in the 9th would be taken off, so they should have lost 5-4, but they didn’t and allowed the score to stand anyway!

I know a lot of people were adding the Suns and they were f**ked as soon as Dragic was ruled out which was a game-time decision btw :-( Just a reminder if you were on the ten-fold I expect to see a doctors note this aft. :-D
Mr. Orange, I know mate. Just a single point broke my Game Totals treble. Add that to the Race to 20 treble which was broken by DAL Mavericks who were ahead only for Nowitzki to be substituted among others which had New Orleans take the lead to 20 and the first quarter. I guess the substitutions were justified as Mavericks went on to firmly lead every other quarter and win the game but that doesn’t do us any good for a Race to 20 pick. Very unlucky night for both DeAndre and myself. These kind of variables occur from time to time but we are sure to make it up over the following days, right DeAndre? :)

I was looking out for your college tips yesterday, what the hell do you think you’re doing taking a night off, haha! I wouldn’t usually touch the Nets on the 2nd leg of a back-to-back but after last nights humbling to Portland I think the older heads in that team will lead them to a bounce back W.
Haha yeah didn’t play anything. I was actually on the fence about the Nets at first since it was a B2B. But then I read elsewhere that they rested most of the starters at some point in the third quarter so they should be relatively fresh.
Plus the Nuggets are missing Ty Lawson and have went 1-5 ATS since he was out. So the -2 might even be an option in that one since the Spread isn’t that big.

Tomorrow’s card looking good, I might have a boast of different trebles. Usually, I wait for bet365 to post the odds which is about 4-6 hours before the NBA games start (which is about 6am for me as I’m located in Aus), I play it then immediately post it here. I never post what I wouldn’t play, but tonight I’ll be writing up my picks based on odds shown through oddschecker.com and playing it whenever they’re available on bet365 which should have them up earlier than usual :)
As some of you know, I’m on a mission to not only win back (horse racing :( ), but double a 4 figure sum primarily through NBA picks, and it’s great seeing people make some extra cash off what I post, so I’ll be contributing whenever possible :)

Well I don’t know if anyone is following my nhl tips but what I can I say :( I don’t normally complain about nhl as it is always hard to predict but god, that was one unlucky treble!! We had the islanders score 2 Shorr handed goals against Toronto which is just unheard of! And the second one was just shocking! And then Pittsburgh must have tried not to win the game in the end! Leading on 5 different occasions to lose it in a shoot out :( well apologise and no excuses but I have mentioned it’s hard work this week with teams returning from the Olympic break!

Well the Wizards had just lost Nene, and they battled to beat a Raptors team that had no right to beat, teams tend to get a couple surprise results when they’re short handed and catch everyone off guard, hoping that happens tonight and in terms of pure talent on the court the Lakers might be the worst team in the NBA apart from Philly :-)
