Feb 26: Jordan’s Sports Tips & Chat

Jordans_SportsTips

THE Six Nations rugby resumes tonight with Wales welcoming a France side who boast a perfect record so far.

Les Bleus have beaten Ireland and Italy and are a point ahead of Warren Gatland’s Wales who drew with the Irish and defeated Scotland.

Wales will take confidence from the fact they’ve won the last four meetings with France and they’re 1-3 at Skybet to make it five in a row.

The away side are 7-2 at Stan James and Welsh ace George North tops the anytime try scorer betting at 12-5 with Paddy Power.

At the Dubai Tennis Championships, Novak Djokovic is a goner after retiring hurt a set down yesterday to send Feliciano Lopez through to a last-four meeting with Marcos Baghdatis today.

The other last-four match is a cracker with Nick Kyrgios 13-10 at bwin against No.2 seed Stan Wawrinka (8-11, Coral).

There’s also the likes of rugby league and NBA worth a flutter so let’s hear all your tips and chat and good luck with your bets.

    Aussie Rules Single (8:10am GMT):

    – Geelong Cats win margin 1-39 points @ $2.00

Collingwood have not names their top players, whilst Geelong have a nearly full strength squad. Geelon to win but not a blow out – wven though they are pure class they’re not the type of team who blow away opponents. Should win by no more than 39 points to land this bet.

Unlucky man. It looked good to me!

Was definitely a tricky card l last night… I had 1 selection locked down, but too many doubts on what to double with. Had I played it as a single, would have been a push anyway.

At least you know when to leave a bet when unsure….great attribute to have and something I’ve always struggled with. Having said that, it really wasn’t relevant in this case as felt it looked a sound shout.

Pretty sure Blazers and Thunder filled the bookies pockets last night 😀
Should have taken my selections as singles but had a good feeling about them.

Aussie NBL Semi-Final Playoff Match 3:

    – Perth Wildcats vs Illawarra Hawks UNDER 169.5

Virtually all the wildcats home games go unders and they have for years. Their defense on home court is 2nd to none. Hawks havnt won in Perth for about 7-8 years i think, and being the final match of a 3 game playoff series i see the wildcats winning and restricting the Hawks to below 80 points (also note hawks main 3point shooter Kevin Lisch is still out injured from his injury in the 1st playoff game)

    Ok Wales vs France
I wrote a huge write up and somehow lost the lot posting so here is a quick shortened version.
France – Against Italy very poor defensively but did score 3 good tries and ran some good lines.
Against the Irish they were better defensively but didn’t wake up offensively till the second half. Machenaud is a guy I rate at 9. He is currently playing with Dan Carter and you can see this in the way France are trying to play. Like New Zealand
They are not and won’t be they are way too inconsistent.
I do think France will improve every game under new coach Guy Noves and he makes 5 changes from the Ireland game. Will it be enough ???
    Wales
Biggar is back and how we need him. Against Ireland wales started way to slowly however we still shouldve won and would’ve without Biggars departure.
Against Scotland Wales were better and will improve again I feel.
Three changes for wales 6’10 charteris is out with an injury and Bradley Davies is in.
Wales bring back Dan Lydiate at 6 to replace tipuric. Warburton will resume his duties at his regular 7. Also cuthbert is back replacing Tom James.
I’m a big fan of Lydiate and he will make a big contribution especially defensively.
I think the centre partnership of Jamie Roberts and Jonathon Davies again iis looking back to its best.
That will be the difference for me.
The other big incentive for Wales which will turn the tie there way is the fact they face a good England team in a few weeks in what could be a championship decider.
As far as tips go personally I wouldn’t go too mad but from scratch I don’t see wales losing.
    Bets to consider.
Gareth Davies Anytime Try scorer. 13/8. Sky Bet
George North Anytime Try Scorer 13/8 Sky Bet
Main bet will be Wales winning margin 0-12 at 6/4. When our backs are against the wall we usually come through I don’t see this being any different.
Good luck with all your bets

Wazza I would have gone with Kyrgios as he is playing well. Only thing putting me off is he had a bit of trouble with his back yesterday calling the trainer a few times. Also it’s first match v Stan since they had the falling out, so Stan could be extra motivated.
I came to the conclusion to avoid it.

Some true quality rugga is back in the form of Super Rugby! Never know what to expect in the 1st week and that was highlighted in the Brumbies demolition of the Hurricanes. I’ll be having 2 small bets 1st up via bet365:

For my main bet I’ll happily take the Cheetahs at +7.5 (just under evens) against the newly formed Jaguares. This is the Jags 1st Super Rugby game and the Cheetahs are more than decent at home. Might throw in some loose change on the Cheetahs to win outright at 21/10. My 2nd bet will be a small ‘Fun’ treble on the Lions -5.5, Cheetahs +15.5 and I’ll throw in Wales to win for for total odds of 1.55/1. Enjoy lads!

Nothin you can do mate, as far as i know all bookies will void any ‘set score’ bets. Most will void all retirements on straight win bets, but the odd few like ladbrokes will pay the win if your player is up a set & the losing players retires (they’ll also take your stake as a loser if your in the guy who retires when down a set)

Can see myself regretting it tomorrow morning but D’Angelo Russell (Lakers) PR&A are still only at 21.5 @ 5/6 @ PP despite now being a starter. Some of you may know I took him the other night when they were blown away by the Bucks and he fell a couple short, fast forward a couple of days against a better Grizzlies team and he turns in 19 points with plenty of assists and rebounds to boot. Tonight they’ll be at home against the same Grizzlies team that they kept fairly close with the other day.

Marc Gasol hasn’t got a return date yet so they will need plenty of offense from Point Guard Mike Conley. Conley recorded 24 points and 8 assists in their win over LA midweek and should be able to do the same again.

Mike Conley (Grizzlies) Over 24.5 Points and Assists @ 4/5 @ Paddy Power – 2.5 points

    D’Angelo Russell (Lakers) Over 21.5 PR&A @ 5/6 @ Paddy Power – 1.2 points

On this with you mate. I do love prop bets but as you said the other day, always totally at risk of being completely scuppered by the coaches. It really annoys me when losing and coaches just bench the entire starters for the whole of the fourth. Fair enough if you are a top team and don’t want to risk injuries etc before the playoffs, but the Lakers do it and haven’t hardly won a bloody game all season so don’t see the point in it myself

      • Profile photo of Jordan
        Jordan 9 months ago

Correct mate. More often than not that is the only reason my props lose. Byron Scott (Lakers coach) is very old fashioned too and he almost sees it as punishment if they’re losing. I keep harassing the Lakers twitter account telling them Kobe should retire now as its not helping their season at all :) Only thing that could scupper us tonight is Memphis play tomorrow in Phoenix which is much more winnable than tonight. With props you really need to find which games will be close right up to the end to give you enough hope that the better players will be on the court. Lakers made a good account of themselves in Memphis so should do at home tonight.

Jaguares getting a harsh intro to Super Rugby. Toughest competition in the world and they’re finding out 1st hand. Cheetahs crushing them and up by 24-3 after as many minutes. Great cash out available already or cover if you’d like, as the Jags have lots of Argentine internationals so you’d expect some sort of comeback. I’m gonna let it ride cause my stakes aren’t large.

Cycling: Omloop het Nieuwsblad 2016 (Saturday)

For most cycling fans this race indicates the start of the racing season. It’s the first race in a series of classics that runs all the way to the Tour of Lombardy in October. I can fill a page about this race, but I will keep it short and just post my bets:

    Greg van Avermaet for a place 1-3 @ 2.20 with 888

Van Avermaet is in great form and I can’t see him being dropped by any of the riders. I think he will be there in the end and he can even win the race with his fast sprint uphill. I will take him for a place on the podium.

    Match-ups:

    Debusschere to beat Drucker
    Theuns to beat Teunissen
    Double @ 2.54 with WH

I will take these two Belgians who have a good record in this race. Debusschere is a guy who can win it and I think he will make it to the final selection. I can’t see Drucker doing better as two of his team mates are hot favourites for this race. Theuns is a very strong rider and I think he can get a top 10 finish. Teunissen is a big talent, but it’s his first season he is doing these races. I think he needs a couple of years to be among the big names.

    Boonen to beat Roelandts
    Naesen to beat Ligthart
    Double @ 1.96 with 888

Boonen is Boonen, a legend in these kind of races. He was 3rd last year and I am quite sure we will see Boonen in the top 5. Roelandts admitted his legs haven’t felt very good yet this season. Naesen is local boy who knows these roads very well and I think he can get a top 10 finish. Ligthart has 3 guys in his team who are better than him, so I think he has to work for them.

    Cycling: Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne 2016 (Sunday)

This is the second race of the Belgian opening weekend. Not as exciting as the Omloop because this race is very likely to be a bunch sprint finish.

    Elia Viviani for a place 1-3 @ 3.50 with 888

I think it will be a podium with the 3 fastest guys in this race who all are in very good form. I think Kristoff will win it and Viviani and Bouhanni will just finish behind him.

mate , when the 1st bet loses you double the stake next time out . good on even money shots… example

westbrook over 24 at 10/11 £10 loses … next bet is

        westbrook over 24 at 10 11 £20

you keep doubling up till it wins

never tried it on a prop bet b4 , hence the crack at this…

        TIME WILL TELL…

Don’t mean to be picky but its ‘Martingale’, and I wouldn’t recommend it because if you lose a few bets in a row you could get yourself into a big hole.

            Jordan 9 months ago

Say you start with a £10 and lose 9 bets in a row. Your 10th bet would have to be a stake of £5120. Gulp.

shotty, don’t do Martingdale unless you know what you’re getting into. You might need very big balls.

Haha it doesn’t sound like something I’d be interested in going to give it a miss

The 13/8 double stake NAP/NB has won, which was Thiago Monteiro to win a set
He won the first set 6-4 so hopefully he can win the match now which was 4/1

Bulls to win outright @ $3.75

Not sure why Hawks are so short, they’ve list their last 3 straight (all at home) whilst the Bulls have won their last 3.

To me this is a 50/50 matchup and ill take the value.

No Kobe for the Lakers. Hopefully that’s a good sign for Russell as long as they don’t get blown away.

Also Tony Allen is out for the Grizzlies again so Matt Barnes should see more good minutes and Over 11.5 points @ 4/5 @ Paddy Power seems worthy of a couple points. Scored 25 against them the other day. Just a suggestion.
