Feb 25: Jordan’s Early US Football Tip

THIS is a tip Jordan posted earlier and the price has drifted too.

He says: Santos Laguna have drastically fallen behind in Mexico in recent years selling their best players to other clubs and not replacing them very well.

They would have done a fair bit of travelling over the past week with an away game in Mexico City on Sunday and now a trip to LA to face the Galaxy.

I’m only risking a point on this because like Seattle yesterday, it’s Galaxy’s first competitive fixture this year but the talent should be too much for the Mexicans who have not kept a clean sheet away from home this season.

If you want to take the 1.5 Galaxy goals that would be my NB but at 13-10 for the win I’ll risk a point. Seattle went full strength last night and I’d expect LA to do the same. Keane, Dos Santos, Zardes and Gerrard should all start, with maybe their new faces in Ashley Cole and Nigel De Jong.

CONCACAF Champions League

LA Galaxy To Win (3am)

(13-10, Bwin) – 1 point

Just catching the end of this one before work and still 0-0 with a few chances for both sides by the looks of things. No brownie points for the morning. Point lost. No drama.

As you say mate, no harm done. Good to see Gerrard getting a full 45 though.

On to the Europa we go.

Robert, they had some good chances and despite Ashley Cole not playing for a year, his reading of the game was still clear to see. Could thrive in this league. Their CB Van Damme (no relation of Jean-Claude) looked decent too, as did their pacey winger Boateng who they bought from Helsingborg. Could be the team to beat this year.

As you say mate between the MLS and China this year we’re all going to have some great times.

Nights like tonight show even the Europa League can be a laugh once in a while. It’s the first night I’ve come out of a Thursday in the black for the day for over a year, so that can’t be bad!

    Thanks again mate

Not just China or US mate. Plenty other leagues kicking off too. Where some struggled last year when the prestigious leagues finished, I was still pulling out winners from the likes or Norway, Sweden and Ireland. If you put the work in you’ll get repaid.

Definitely, like you say it’s all about the research. I love the German lower leagues personally – a bit unpredictable at times but often some real gulfs in class that can be banked on.
